1Ultrastable single-atom gold catalysts with strong covalent metal-support interaction (CMSI)显示文摘Supported noble metal nanoparticles (including nanoclusters) are widely used in many industrial catalytic processes. While the finely dispersed nanostructures are highly active, they are usually thermodynamically unstable and tend to aggregate or sinter at elevated temperatures. This scenario is particularly true for supported nanogold catalysts because the gold nanostructures are easily sintered at high temperatures, under reaction conditions, or even during storage at ambient temperature. Here, we demonstrate that isolated Au single atoms dispersed on iron oxide nanocrystallites (Aul/FeOx) are much more sintering- resistant than Au nanostructures, and exhibit extremely high reaction stability for CO oxidation in a wide temperature range. Theoretical studies revealed that the positively charged and surface-anchored Aul atoms with high valent states formed significant covalent metal-support interactions (CMSIs), thus providing the ultra-stability and remarkable catalytic performance. 3Highly active and sintering-resistant heteroepitaxy of Au nanoparticles on ZnO nanowires for CO oxidation显示文摘Gold was supported on commercial ZnO powders(P) and homemade ZnO nanowires(NWs) by a modified deposition–precipitation method. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy investigation indicated that the size of the Au nanoparticles(NPs) depended strongly on the calcination temperature.The Au NPs were highly dispersed(< 5 nm) on both supports with calcination temperatures < 400 °C.However, after calcination at 600 °C the Au NPs aggregated much more severely on ZnO P than on ZnO NWs. Gold NPs epitaxially grew into the {10–10} facets of the ZnO NWs after calcination at temperatures > 400 °C. Such unique anchoring mechanism accounts for the much better experimentally observed sintering resistance. X-ray photoelectron spectra showed that Au existed as both metallic Au0 and Auδ+species in all the synthesized catalysts with or without calcination treatment; the ratios of Auδ+/Au0,however, varied, depending on the treatment conditions. Catalytic tests showed that the activity for CO oxidation strongly depended on the size of the Au NPs. After calcination at 600 °C, the specific rate for CO oxidation at room temperature decreased about 30 times on Au/ZnO P but only about 4 times on Au/ZnO NW. 6High performance perovskite solar cells using TiO2 nanospindles as ultrathin mesoporous layer显示文摘Single crystal anatase TiO_2 nanospindles(NSs) with highly exposed {101} facets were synthesized and employed as electron transport materials(ETMs) in perovskite solar cells(PSCs). Time-resolved photoluminescence(TRPL) spectra revealed that the TiO_2 NSs are more effective than TiO_2 nanoparticles in accepting electrons from perovskite. Moreover, the TiO_2 nanospindles further endowed the PSCs with good reproducibility and suppressed hysteresis. 8Fibrous TiO_2 prepared by chemical vapor deposition using activated carbon fibers as template via adsorption,hydrolysis and calcinations显示文摘TiO2 fibers were prepared via alternatively introducing water vapor and Ti precursor carried by N2 to an APCVD(chemical vapor deposition under atmospheric pressure) reactor at ≤200 °C. Activated carbon fibers(ACFs) were used as templates for deposition and later removed by calcinations. The obtained catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) ,transmission electron microscopy(TEM) ,Brunauer,Emmett and Teller(BET) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis. The pores within TiO2 fibers included micro-range and meso-range,e.g.,7 nm,and the specific surface areas for TiO2 fibers were 141 m2/g and 148 m2/g for samples deposited at 100 °C and 200 °C(using ACF1700 as template) ,respectively. The deposition temperature significantly influenced TiO2 morphology. 9Nucleotide coordination with 14 lanthanides studied by isothermal titration calorimetry显示文摘With their hydrolytic, optical and magnetic properties, lanthanide ions(Ln^(3+)) are versatile probes for nucleic acids. In addition, nucleotide-coordinated Ln^(3+) ions form useful nanoparticles. However, the thermodynamic basis of their interaction is still lacking. In this work, isothermal titration calorimetry(ITC) is used to study the binding between nucleotides and 14 different Ln^(3+) ions. Ln^(3+) interacts mainly with the phosphate of cytidine and thymidine monophosphate(CMP and TMP), while the nucleobases in adenosine and guanosine monophosphate(AMP and GMP) are also involved. Phosphate binding is fully entropy driven since the reactions absorb heat. Nucleosides alone do not bind Ln^(3+) and the purines need the phosphate for chelation. With increasing atomic number of Ln^(3+), the binding reaction with GMP goes from exothermic to endothermic. The entropy contribution starts to increase from Gd^(3+), explaining the'gadolinium break' observed in many Ln^(3+)-mediated RNA cleavage reactions.
