1Active optical clock显示文摘This article presents the principles and techniques of active optical clock, a special laser combining the laser physics of one-atom laser, bad-cavity gas laser, super-cavity stabilized laser and optical atomic clock together. As a simple example, an active optical clock based on thermal strontium atomic beam shows a quantum-limited linewidth of 0.51 Hz, which is insensitive to laser cavity-length noise, and may surpass the recorded narrowest 6.7 Hz of Hg ion optical clock and 1.5 Hz of very recent optical lattice clock. The estimated 0.1 Hz one-second instability and 0.27 Hz uncertainty are limited only by the rela- tivistic Doppler effect, and can be improved by cold atoms.CHEN JingBiao 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,3:19
2Realization of population inversion between 7S_(1/2) and 6P_(3/2) levels of cesium for four-level active optical clock显示文摘We demonstrate experimentally the population inversion between 7S1/2 and 6P3/2 levels of cesium in thermal cesium cell with a 455.5 nm pumping laser.We calculate the relative population probabilities at each level theoretically with the density matrix method.In a steady state,5.8% atoms are at 7S1/2 level and 2.9% at 6P3/2 level,which builds up the population inversion between the two levels.We obtain the fluorescence spectra produced in thermal cesium cell in our experiment.The measured relative intensity of each available fluorescence spectral line in the experiment agrees very well with the theoretical result.The demonstrated population inversion between 7S1/2 and 6P3/2 levels can be used to construct an active optical clock of four-level system with a wavelength of 1469.9 nm.WANG YanFei WANG DongYing ZHANG TongGang HONG YeLong ZHANG ShengNan TAO ZhiMing XIE XiaoPeng CHEN JingBiao 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:6
3Active optical clock based on four-level quantum system显示文摘Active optical clock,a new conception of atomic clock,has been proposed recently.In this work,we propose a scheme of active optical clock based on four-level quantum system.The final accuracy and stability of two-level quantum system are limited by second-order Doppler shift of thermal atomic beam.To three-level quantum system,they are mainly limited by light shift of pumping laser field.These limitations can be avoided effectively by applying the scheme proposed here.Rubidium atom four-level quantum system,as a typical example,is discussed.The population inversion between 6S 1/2 and 5P 3/2 states can be built up at a time scale of 10-6 s.With the mechanism of active optical clock,in which the cavity mode linewidth is much wider than that of the laser gain profile,it can output a laser with quantum-limited linewidth narrower than 1 Hz in theory.An experimental configuration is designed to realize this active optical clock.ZHANG TongGang WANG YanFei ZANG XiaoRun ZHUANG Wei CHEN JingBiao 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18:6
4Multi-threshold second-order phase transition in laser显示文摘We present a theory of the multi-threshold second-order phase transition,and experimentally demonstrate the multi-threshold secondorder phase transition phenomenon.With carefully selected parameters,in an external cavity diode laser system,we observe secondorder phase transition with multiple(three or four) thresholds in the measured power-current-temperature three dimensional phase diagram.Such controlled death and revival of second-order phase transition sheds new insight into the nature of ubiquitous secondorder phase transition.Our theory and experiment show that the single threshold second-order phase transition is only a special case of the more general multi-threshold second-order phase transition,which is an even richer phenomenon.ZHUANG Wei YU DeShui LIU ZhiWen CHEN JingBiao 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,35:4
5Faraday anomalous dispersion optical filter at 133Cs weak 459 nm transition显示文摘A 459 nm Faraday anomalous dispersion optical filter(FADOF) working at the side wings of the cesium6S1∕2→ 7P1∕2transition with weak oscillator strength is achieved. The transmittance of the higher side wing reaches 98% at a temperature of 179°C and magnetic field above 323 G. The experimental results coincide with the theoretical predictions in 1982 and 1995, which were not realized in experiments for over three decades. 6Extreme Temperature Change of the Last 110 Years in Changchun,Northeast China显示文摘In China and East Asia,the long-term continuous observational data at daily resolution are insufficient,and thus there is a lack of good understanding of the extreme climate variation over the last 100 years plus.In this study,the extreme temperature indices defined by ETCCDI(Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices)and local meteorological administrations were analyzed for Changchun City,Northeast China,by using the daily maximum temperature(Tmax)and daily minimum temperature(Tmin)over 1909?2018.The results showed that extreme cold events,such as cold days,cold nights,frost days,icing days,and low temperature days,decreased significantly at rates of?0.41 d(10 yr)^?1,?1.45 d(10 yr)^?1,?2.28 d(10 yr)^?1,?1.16 d(10 yr)?1 and?1.90 d(10 yr)^?1,respectively.Warm nights increased significantly at a rate of 1.71 d(10 yr)^?1,but warm days decreased slightly and the number of high temperature days decreased at a rate of?0.20 d(10 yr)?1.The frequency of cold surge events increased significantly at a rate of 0.25 d(10 yr)^?1,occurring mainly from the mid-1950s to late-1980s.The average Tmax,average Tmin and extreme Tmin increased at rates of 0.09℃(10 yr)^?1,0.36℃(10 yr)^?1 and 0.54℃(10 yr)^?1,respectively;and extreme Tmax decreased significantly at a rate of?0.17℃(10 yr)^?1.In 1909?2018,1951?2018 and 1979?2018,the indices related to cold events decreased,while the trends of the indices related to warm events were different for different periods.Xiujing YU Guoyu REN Panfeng ZHANG Jingbiao HU Ning LIU Jianping LI Chenchen ZHANG 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,4:2

15Bio-signal based elbow angle and torque simultaneous predictionduring isokinetic contraction显示文摘It is of great importance to decode motion dynamics of the human limbs such as the joint angle and torque in order to improve the functionality and provide more intuitive control in human-machine collaborative systems. In order to achieve feasible prediction,both the surface electromyography(sEMG) and A-mode ultrasound were applied to detect muscle deformation and motor intent.Six abled subjects were recruited to perform five trails elbow isokinetic flexion and extension, and each trail contained five repetitions, with muscle deformation and s EMG signals recorded simultaneously. The experimental datasets were categorized as:the ultrasound-EMG combined datasets, ultrasound-only datasets and EMG-only datasets. The support vector machine(SVM)regression model was developed for both elbow joint angle and torque prediction, based on the above three kinds of datasets. The root-mean-square error(RMSE) and the correlation coefficients(R) were applied to evaluate the prediction accuracy. The results across all the subjects for different datasets indicated that the combined datasets and the ultrasound datasets were superior to the sEMG datasets both on elbow joint angle and torque prediction, and there were no significant differences between the combined datasets and the ultrasound datasets. 18Distribution of populations in excited states of electrodeless discharge lamp of Rb atoms显示文摘The intensity of fluorescence spectral lines of Rb atoms in the region of 350-1110nm is measured in eletrodeless discharge lamp. The population ratio between the excited states is calculated according to the spontaneous transition probabilities with rate equations. At the same time, the population density of energy level is also obtained. 19Structure and transport studies on nanometer YBCO/PBCGO multilayers显示文摘We have fabricated M doped (M = Al, Co, Fe, Ga, Ni and Zn) PrBa2Cu3O7 (PBCO), i.e. PrBa2(Cu1-xMx)3O7. The doping levels x are 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20. X-ray data indicated no significant second phase for substituting Cu by Al, Co, Fe and Ga up to 20%. However impurity phases were detected for Ni and Zn substituted samples with doping levels equal to and higher than 15%. At 77 K the electrical resistivity of these compounds is orders in magnitude higher than that of PBCO. We also found that although the lattice parameters in the doped samples differ from PBCO, all samples remain orthorhombic. The lattice parameters of the doped sample are very close to those of YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) and PBCO. For this reason these compounds are better materials to be used as the I-layer for YBCO SIS junctions. 20Efficient oxygen electrocatalysts with highly-exposed Co-N4 active sites on N-doped graphene-like hierarchically porous carbon nanosheets enhancing the performance of rechargeable Zn-air batteries显示文摘Designing bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts with high activity,lasting stability,and low-cost for rechargeable zinc-air batteries(RZABs)is a tough challenge.Herein,an advanced electrocatalyst is prepared by anchoring atomically dispersed Co atoms on Ndoped graphene-like hierarchically porous carbon nanosheets(SA-Co-N4-GCs)and thereby forming Co-N4-C architecture.Its unique structure with excellent conductivity,large surface area,and three dimensional(3D)interconnected hierarchically porous architecture exposes not only more Co-N4 active sites to accelerate the kinetics of both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),but also provides an efficient charge/mass transport environment to reduce diffusion barrier.Consequently,SA-Co-N4-GCs exhibits excellent ORR/OER bifunctional activities and durability,surpassing noble-metal catalysts.Liquid RZABs using SA-Co-N4-GCs cathodes display a high open-circuit voltage of 1.51 V,a remarkable power density of 149.3 mW·cm−2,as well as excellent stability and rechargeability with faint increase in polarization even at a large depth of charge–discharge cycle with 16 h per cycle over an entire 600 h long-term test.Moreover,flexible quasi-solid-state RZABs with SA-Co-N4-GCs cathodes also deliver a considerable power density of 124.5 mW·cm−2,which is even higher than that of liquid batteries using noble-metal catalysts.This work has thrown new insight into development of high-performance and low-cost electrocatalysts for energy conversion and storage.Nengfei Yu Hui Chen Jingbiao Kuang Kailin Bao Wei Yan Jilei Ye Zhongtang Yang Qinghong Huang Yuping Wu Shigang Sun 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:0
