1Histone Deacetylase HDA9 and WRKY53 Transcription Factor Are Mutual Antagonists in Regulation of Plant Stress Response显示文摘Epigenetic regulation of gene expression is important for plant adaptation to environm ental changes.Previous results showed that Arabidopsis RPD3-like histone deacetylase HDA9 is known to function in repressing plant response to stress in Arabidopsis.However,how HDA9 targets to specific chromatin loci and controls gene expression netw orks involved in plant response to stress remains largely unclear.Here,we show that HDA9 represses stress tolerance response by interacting with and regulating the DNA binding and transcriptional activity of WRKY53,which functions as a high-hierarchy positive regulator of stress response.We found that WRKY53 is post-translationally modified by lysine acetylation at multiple sites,some of which are removed by HDA9,resulting in inhibition of WRKY53 transcription activity.Conversely,WRKY53 negatively regulates HDA9 histone deacetylase activity.Collectively,our results indicate that HDA9 and WRK53 are reciprocal negative regulators of each other's activities,illustrating how the functional interplay between a chromatin regulator and a transcription factor regulates stress tolerance in plants.Yu Zheng Jingyu Ge Chun Bao Wenwen Chang Jingjing Liu Jingjie Shao Xiaoyun Liu Lufang Su Lei Pan Dao-Xiu Zhou 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,4:6

3Effects of Environment Factors on Initiation of Sperm Motility in Sea Cucumber Apostichopus japonicus (Selenka)显示文摘Sperm of sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus (Selenka) were quiescent in electrolyte NaCl solution and artificial seawater (ASW) and nonelectrolyte glucose and mannitol solutions when the osmolality was less than 200 mOsm kg-1. The sperm started to be motile as a result of increased osmolality, indicating an osmolality-dependent initiation of sperm motility in sea cucumber. After a brief incubation in hypotonic NaCl and glucose solutions with osmolalities of 200 and 400 mOsm kg-1, sperm lost partial motile ability. Sperm became immobilized when pH was 6.0 in NaCl, glucose and mannitol solutions, suggesting that an H+ release is involved in sperm activation. The decreased pH had no effect on the percentage of motile sperm in ASW, whereas it delayed the time period to reach the maximum motility (motilitymax). Extracellular Ca2+ in electrolyte solutions was not essential for motility stimulation but shortened the time of reaching motilitymax. When Ca2+ was mixed in nonelectrolyte solutions the sperm motility was completely suppressed. The K+ channel blocker, quinine, suppressed the sperm motility in electrolyte solution, showing a possible involvement of K+ transport in the process. High K+ concentration did not affect the sperm motility in NaCl solution, but decreased it in ASW and almost entirely suppressed it in nonelectrolyte solutions. 4Morphological modification of Mg_(2)Si phase and strengthening mechanism in Mg_(2)Si/Al composites by Eu addition and T6 heat treatment显示文摘In order to improve mechanical properties of Mg_(2)Si/Al composites,Eu element was added to mod-ify Mg_(2)Si morphology,and T6 heat treatment was used to control Mg_(2)Si morphology and precipitate strengthening phase.Microstructure and morphology of Mg_(2)Si were observed by synchrotron X-ray to-mography and TEM,and first-principles calculations were also performed to testify the effect of Eu mod-ification.Results show that the size of primary Mg_(2)Si particles decreases and eutectic Mg_(2)Si phase trans-forms from lamellar to fibrous by Eu addition.After heat treatment,sharp angles of primary Mg_(2)Si par-ticles passivate,and eutectic Mg_(2)Si dissolves and appears to be short dot-like.Meanwhile,nano-sizedβ'phase precipitates in the matrix.For morphology of Mg_(2)Si with Eu modification,TEM results show that Eu impedes the growing of Mg_(2)Si,which is verified by first-principles calculations that Eu atom preferentially adsorbs on Mg_(2)Si{100}facet.The adsorption and suppression growing of Mg_(2)Si transform the morphology of Mg_(2)Si and thus improve the elongation.UTS and elongation of the heat-treated Eu modified composites are 281 MPa and 8.4%,which improved 81%and 200%compared to the as-cast Al-15%Mg_(2)Si composite.The strengthening mechanism mainly results from precipitation strengthening of nano-sizedβ'precipitates in the heat-treated composite.Yinling Jin Hongze Fang Ruirun Chen Jiwei Wang Shichen Sun Shu Wang Bin Shao Jingjie Guo 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,28:0
