| 1 | Decomposition of acid dissolved titanium slag from Australia by sodium hydroxide显示文摘The kinetics of the decomposition of acid dissolved titanium slag with a sodium hydroxide system under atmospheric pressure was studied. The effect of reaction temperature, particle size and NaOH-to-slag mass ratio on titanium extraction was investigated. The results show that temperature and particle size have significant influence on titanium extraction. The experimental data of titanium extraction show that the shrinking core model with chemical reaction controlled process is most applicable for the decomposition of slag, with an apparent activation energy of 62.4 kJ·mol-1. Approximately 85 wt.%-90 wt.% of the titanium can be extracted from the slag under the optimal conditions. | 4 | Schisandrin B exerts anticancer effects on human gastric cancer cells through ROS-mediated MAPK,STAT3,and NF-κB pathways显示文摘Schisandrin B(Sch B)is a monomer with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects,which are isolated from the plant Schisandra chinensis(Turcz)Baillon.We investigated the anti-gastric cancer(GC)effects of Sch B and its underlying molecular mechanisms.The Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to determine the effects of Sch B on the viability of GC and normal cell lines.Hoechst/propidium iodide staining and flow cytometry were used to assess the apoptosis induction of Sch B.Western blotting was used to evaluate the effects of Sch B on downstream apoptotic proteins.The DCFH-DA fluorescent probe was used to assess the regulatory effects of Sch B on reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels and related signaling pathways in GC cells.The results showed that Sch B could regulate the phosphorylation level of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)by upregulating ROS accumulation in gastric cancer cells,and then reduce the expression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)and phosphorylated transcription 3(p-STAT3).In addition,Sch B downregulated the cell cycle proteins cyclin-dependent kinase 2/4/6 and cyclin D1/E,and arrested cells in the G0/G1 phase.Moreover,it also inhibited cell migration,which was reversed with Nacetylcysteine pretreatment.In summary,Sch B has killing effects on GC cells by upregulating the production of intracellular ROS and regulating the MAPK/STAT3/NF-κB signaling pathway,leading to the migration arrest and apoptosis of GC cells. | TIANZHU LI YU ZHANG TONG ZHANG YANNAN LI HUI XUE JINGLONG CAO WENSHUANG HOU YINGHUA LUO CHENGHAO JIN | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,1: | 0 |

| 7 | Decabromodiphenyl ether induces the chromosome association disorders of spermatocytes and deformation failures of spermatids in mice显示文摘The environmental presence of decabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-209),which is toxic to the male reproductive system,is widespread.The current study investigated its mechanism of toxicity in mice.The results showed,that BDE-209 induced DNA damage,decreased the expression of the promoter of meiosis spermatogenesis-and oogenesis-specific basic helix-loop-helix 1(Sohlh1),meiosis related-factors Lethal(3)malignant brain tumor like 2(L3MBTL2),PIWI-like protein 2(MILI),Cyclin-dependent kinase 2(CDK2),Cyclin A,synaptonemal complex protein 1(SYCP1)and synaptonemal complex protein 3(SYCP3),and caused spermatogenic cell apoptosis,resulting in a decrease in sperm quantity and quality.Furthermore,BDE-209 downregulated the levels of anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome(APC/C),increased the expression of PIWI-like protein 1(MIWI)in the cytoplasm of elongating spermatids,and decreased the nuclear levels of RING finger protein 8(RNF8),ubiquitinated(ub)-H2A/ub-H2B,and Protamine 1(PRM1)/Protamine 2(PRM2),while increasing H2A/H2B nuclear levels in spermatids.The reproductive toxicity was persistent for 50 days following the withdrawal of BDE-209 exposure.The results suggested that BDE-209 inhibits the initiation of meiosis by decreasing the expression of Sohlh1.Furthermore,the reduced expression of L3MBTL2 inhibited the formation of chromosomal synaptonemal complexes by depressing the expression of meiosis regulators affecting the meiotic progression and also inhibited histone ubiquitination preventing the replacement of histones by protamines,by preventing RNF8 from entering nuclei,which affected the evolution of spermatids into mature sperm. | Jinglong Xue Xiangyang Li Yafei Chi Leqiang Gao Yue Zhang Yan Wang Moxuan Zhao Jialiu Wei Zhixiong Shi Xianqing Zhou | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4: | 0 |

| 9 | Brain-targeted polymersome codelivery of siRNA and temozolomide for effective glioblastoma chemo-RNAi synergistic therapy显示文摘Temozolomide (TMZ) is a clinically approved drug for glioblastoma (GBM) therapy. However, as a result of methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT), which is able to repair damaged DNA-damage repairing, TMZ usually yields unsatisfactory therapeutic effects. Small interfering RNA (siRNA) is a potential alteration tool for sensitivity of TMZ by targeting DNA repair enzymes. However, a suitable TMZ and siRNA codelivery system that can effectively and actively co-deliver siRNA/TMZ into the brain tumor is lacking. In this study, we constructed an angiopep-2 decorated polymersomal delivery system to co-deliver TMZ/siRNA for synergistic GBM therapy. This targeted polymersomal nanomedicine not only enhanced the circulation time of siRNA/TMZ in blood but also improved their blood-brain barrier (BBB) crossing and GBM targeting ability. Moreover, when we co-administered siRNAs specific to retinoblastoma binding protein 4 (RBBP4) together with TMZ in GBM cells, these RBBP4- specific siRNA (siRBBP4) modulated the sensitivity of TMZ by regulating MGMT, and thus showed a powerful synergistic anti-tumor effect. We demonstrated that angiopep-2 decorated polymersomal siRBBP4/TMZ co-loaded nanomedicines are capable of inhibiting tumor growth and significantly improved life expectancy of orthotropic GBM bearing mice.
