| 1 | Adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions by tourmaline as a novel material显示文摘Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the behavior and mechanisms for the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions by tourmaline under acidic conditions. The results indicated that the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) significantly depend on the adsorption time, temperature, and the initial concentration of the metal ion. Furthermore, tourmaline had a very good adsorption capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) in acidic, neutral and alkaline aqueous solutions. This good adsorption capacity is attributed to the observation that tourmaline can automatically adjust the pH values of acidic (except pH 2.0 and 3.0), neutral or alkaline aqueous solutions to 6.4. Specifically, the removal capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) was higher at strongly acidic pH values (in contrast to industrial wastewater pH values) compared to that obtained for other types of adsorbents. Furthermore, the results obtained in this study showed good fits to the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. However, the Langmuir model fit better than the Freundlich model. The maximum uptake of Cd(Ⅱ) by tourmaline was 31.77, 33.11 and 40.16 mg/g at pH 4.0 at 15, 25 and 35°C, respectively. Therefore, tourmaline is an effective adsorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions. In addition, the kinetics for the Cd(Ⅱ) adsorption by tourmaline closely followed the pseudo-second-order model. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that adsorption was feasible, spontaneous, and endothermic. Furthermore, the pH variation after adsorption, ζ-potential, metal ions desorbed and released, and FT-IR analysis indicated that the physisorption and chemisorption mechanisms of tourmaline for heavy metals. These mechanisms included water that was automatically polarized by tourmaline, the ion exchange process, and electropolar adsorption. | 2 | Evaluation of soil washing process with carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin and carboxymethyl chitosan for recovery of PAHs/heavy metals/fluorine from metallurgic plant site显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)/heavy metals/fluorine(F) mixed-contaminated sites caused by abandoned metallurgic plants are receiving wide attention. To address the associated environmental problems,this study was initiated to investigate the feasibility of using carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin(CMCD) and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC) solution to enhance ex situ soil washing for extracting mixed contaminants. Further,Tenax extraction method was combined with a first-three-compartment model to evaluate the environmental risk of residual PAHs in washed soil. In addition,the redistribution of heavy metals/F after decontamination was also estimated using a sequential extraction procedure. Three successive washing cycles using50 g/L CMCD and 5 g/L CMC solution were effective to remove 94.3% of total PAHs,93.2% of Pb,85.8% of Cd,93.4% of Cr,83.2% of Ni and 97.3% of F simultaneously. After the 3rd washing,the residual PAHs mainly existed as very slowly desorbing fractions,which were in the form of well-aged,well-sequestered compounds; while the remaining Pb,Cd,Cr,Ni and F mainly existed as Fe–Mn oxide and residual fractions,which were always present in stable mineral forms or bound to non-labile soil fractions. | 5 | Non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of Nylon 10T and Nylon 10T/1010 copolymers:Effect of sebacic acid as a third comonomer显示文摘Nylon 10 T and Nylon 10T/1010 samples were synthesized by direct melt polymerization. The non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of Nylon 10 T and Nylon 10T/1010 was investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). Jeziorny equation and Mo equation were applied to describe the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of the Nylon 10 T and the Nylon 10T/1010. The activation energies for non-isothermal crystallization were obtained by Vyazovkin's method and Friedman's method, respectively. These results showed that Jeziorny equation and Mo equation well described the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of the Nylon 10 T and the Nylon 10T/1010. It was found that the values of the activation energy for non-isothermal crystallization of the Nylon 10T/1010 were lower than those of the Nylon 10 T at a given temperature or relative crystallinity degree,which revealed that crystallization ability of the Nylon 10T/1010 was higher. The crystal morphology was observed by means of a polarized optical microscope(POM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). It was found that the addition of sebacic acid comonomer not only did not change the crystal form of the Nylon 10 T, but also significantly increased the number and decreased the size of spherulites. | 6 | A MITE insertion into the 3′-UTR regulates the transcription of TaHSP16.9 in common wheat显示文摘Miniature inverted-repeat transposable elements(MITEs) are a type of DNA transposon frequently inserted into promoters, untranslated regions(UTR), introns, or coding sequences of genes. We found a 276-bp tourist-like MITE insertion in the 3′-UTR of a 16.9 k Da small heat shock protein gene(TaH SP16.9-3A) on chromosome 3A of common wheat. Haplotype analysis revealed two haplotypes, s HSP-W(wild type without MITE insertion) and s HSP-M(mutant with MITE insertion), present in wheat germplasm. Both semiquantitative PCR and quantitative real-time PCR analyses showed increased transcription levels of TaH SP16.9-3A in s HSP-M compared with those of s HSP-W after heat treatment at 42 °C. | 7 | N-acetyltransferase 10 promotes colon cancer progression by inhibiting ferroptosis through N4-acetylation and stabilization of ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1) mRNA显示文摘Background:N-acetyltransferase 10(NAT10)is the only enzyme known tomediate the N4-acetylcytidine(ac4C)modification of mRNA and is crucial formRNA stability and translation efficiency.However,its role in cancer development and prognosis has not yet been explored.This study aimed to examine the possible role of NAT10 in colon cancer.Methods:The expression levels ofNAT10were evaluated by immunohistochemical analyses with a colon cancer tissue microarray,and its prognostic value in patients was further analyzed.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)and Western blotting were performed to analyze NAT10 expression in harvested colon cancer tissues and cell lines.Stable NAT10-knockdown and NAT10-overexpressing colon cancer cell lines were constructed using lentivirus.The biological functions of NAT10 in colon cancer cell lines were analyzed in vitro by Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8),wound healing,Transwell,cell cycle,and ferroptosis assays.Xenograft models were used to analyze the effect of NAT10 on the tumorigenesis and metastasis of colon cancer cells in vivo.Dot blotting,acetylated RNA immunoprecipitation-qPCR,and RNA stability analyses were performed to explore the mechanism by which NAT10 functions in colon cancer progression.Results:NAT10 was upregulated in colon cancer tissues and various colon cancer cell lines.This increased NAT10 expression was associated with shorter patient survival.Knockdown of NAT10 in two colon cancer cell lines(HT-29 and LoVo)impaired the proliferation,migration,invasion,tumor formation and metastasis of these cells,whereas overexpression of NAT10 promoted these abilities.Further analysis revealed that NAT10 exerted a strong effect on the mRNA stability and expression of ferroptosis suppressor protein 1(FSP1)in HT-29 and LoVo cells.In these cells,FSP1 mRNA was found to be modified by ac4C acetylation,and this epigenetic modification was associated with the inhibition of ferroptosis.Conclusions:Our study revealed that NAT10 plays a critical role in colon cancer development by affecting FSP1 mRNA stability and ferroptosis,suggesting that NAT10 could be a novel prognostic and therapeutic target in colon cancer. | Xiao Zheng Qi Wang You Zhou Dachuan Zhang Yiting Geng Wenwei Hu Changping Wu Yufang Shi Jingting Jiang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,12: | 3 |

The formal modelling of cloud services is formally modded by Bio-PEPA and the modules are transformed between cloud service internal structures and various components. Then, the security adaptive target detection algorithm of cloud service is divided into two processes, the short-term optimal action selection process which selects the current optimal detective action through the iterative operation of the expected function and the adaptive function, and the long-term detective strategy realized through the updates and eliminations of action planning table. The combination of the two processes reflects the self-adaptability of cloud service system to target detection. The simulating test detects three different kinds of security risks and then analyzes the relationship between the numbers of components with time in the service process. The performance of this method is compared with random detection method and three anomaly detection methods by the cloud service detection experiment. The detection time of this method is 50.1% of three kinds of detection methods and 86.3% of the random detection method. The service success rate is about 15% higher than that of random detection methods. | 17 | Research on location privacy protection method of sensor-cloud base station显示文摘In view of the privacy security issues such as location information leakage in the interaction process between the base station and the sensor nodes in the sensor-cloud system, a base station location privacy protection algorithm based on local differential privacy(LDP) is proposed. Firstly, through the local obfuscation algorithm(LOA), the base station can get the data of the real location and the pseudo location by flipping a coin, and then send the data to the fog layer, then the obfuscation location domain set is obtained. Secondly, in order to reconstruct the location distribution of the real location and the pseudo location in the base station, the location domain of the base station is divided into several decentralized sub-regions, and a privacy location reconstruction algorithm(PLRA) is performed in each sub-region. Finally, the base station correlates the location information of each sub-region, and then uploads the data information containing the disturbance location to the fog node layer. | 19 | Flexible multifunctional platform based on piezoelectric acoustics for human–machine interaction and environmental perception显示文摘Flexible human–machine interfaces show broad prospects for next-generation flexible or wearable electronics compared with their currently available bulky and rigid counterparts.However,compared to their rigid counterparts,most reported flexible devices(e.g.,flexible loudspeakers and microphones)show inferior performance,mainly due to the nature of their flexibility.Therefore,it is of great significance to improve their performance by developing and optimizing new materials,structures and design methodologies.In this paper,a flexible acoustic platform based on a zinc oxide(ZnO)thin film on an aluminum foil substrate is developed and optimized;this platform can be applied as a loudspeaker,a microphone,or an ambient sensor depending on the selection of its excitation frequencies.When used as a speaker,the proposed structure shows a high sound pressure level(SPL)of~90 dB(with a standard deviation of~3.6 dB),a low total harmonic distortion of~1.41%,and a uniform directivity(with a standard deviation of~4 dB).Its normalized SPL is higher than those of similar devices reported in the recent literature.When used as a microphone,the proposed device shows a precision of 98%for speech recognition,and the measured audio signals show a strong similarity to the original audio signals,demonstrating its equivalent performance compared to a rigid commercial microphone.As a flexible sensor,this device shows a high temperature coefficient of frequency of−289 ppm/K and good performance for respiratory monitoring. | Qian Zhang Yong Wang Dongsheng Li Jin Xie Ran Tao Jingting Luo Xuewu Dai Hamdi Torun Qiang Wu Wai Pang Ng Richard Binns YongQing Fu | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,5: | 0 |
| 20 | Self-shrinking supramolecular nanoparticles syndicate energy suppression and NIR-II mild photothermal amplification of mitochondrial oxidative stress for breast cancer therapy显示文摘Photothermal therapy(PTT)may lead to healthy tissue damage,tumor metastasis,and recurrence,which makes mild photothermal therapy(mild PTT)stand out.However,overcoming heat resistance,insufficient therapeutic effect,and poor photothermal conversion efficiency has become new challenge.Herein,we report a dynamic supramolecular nanocarrier formed from amide-sericin and aldehyde-polyhydroxy glucan(denoted as SDA),the loose cavity of which can be filled by using the pharmaceutical combination of lonidamine(LND)and NIR-II photothermal agent of IR-1061,producing SDLI with a tighter inner hole,smaller and uniform particle size and excellent stability due to multiple pulling forces.Moreover,the intricate internal network structure prevents the hydrophobic IR-1061 from forming aggregates in the small cavity,and the photothermal conversion efficiency(PCE)can reach 48.9%.At the acidic tumor microenvironment of pH 6.5,the controlled release of LND can solve the problem of heat resistance of NIR-II mild PTT and significantly improve the therapeutic effect of NIR-II mild PTT.Meanwhile,SDLI also shows a reasonable tumor inhibition rate,so the synergistic strategy of inhibiting tumor energy metabolism and NIR-II mild PTT to magnify mitochondrial oxidative stress,continuous cell stress state-induced immunogenic cell death to promote the induction of tumor apoptosis is proposed to achieve more effective cancer treatment. | Hongmei Liu Jiming Xu Mengjie Ye Hengbo Zhang Linlin Han Jingting Wang Peng Xue Yuejun Kang Zhigang Xu | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
