1Investigations of the superlubricity of sapphire against ruby under phosphoric acid lubrication显示文摘In this study,we address the superlubricity behavior of sapphire against ruby(or sapphire against itself)under phosphoric acid solution lubrication.An ultra-low friction coefficient of 0.004 was obtained under a very high contact pressure,with a virgin contact pressure up to 2.57 GPa.Related experiments have indicated that the load,sliding speed,and humidity of the test environment can affect superlubricity to some degree,so we tested variations in these conditions.When superlubricity appears in this study a thin film is present,consisting of a hydrogen bond network of phosphoric acid and water molecules adsorbed on the two friction surfaces,which accounts for the ultra-low friction.Most significantly,the wear rate of the sapphire and ruby in the friction process is very slow and the superlubricity state is very stable,providing favorable conditions for future technological applications.Jinjin LI Chenhui ZHANG Mingming DENG Jianbin LUO 2014Friction2014,2,2:13

3Hydrodynamic effect on the superlubricity of phosphoric acid between ceramic and sapphire显示文摘In this work,a super-low friction coefficient of 0.003 was found between a silicon nitride ball and a sapphire plate lubricated by phosphoric acid solution.The wear mainly occurred in the running-in period and disappeared after superlubricity was achieved.The friction coefficient was effectively reduced from 0.3 to 0.003 at a constant speed of 0.076 m/s,accompanied by a 12-nm-thickness film.The lubrication regime was indicated to change from boundary lubrication in the running-in period to elastohydrodynamic lubrication in the superlubricity period,which is also supported by the results of the friction coefficient versus sliding speed.In addition,the experimental results showed good agreement with theoretical calculations based on the elastohydrodynamic lubrication theory,suggesting a significant hydrodynamic effect of phosphoric acid on superlubricity.Mingming DENG Chenhui ZHANG Jinjin LI Liran MA Jianbin LUO 2014Friction2014,2,2:11
4Molecular behaviors in thin film lubrication——Part three: Superlubricity attained by polar and nonpolar molecules显示文摘In thin-film lubrication(TFL), generally, the viscosity of the lubricant and its coefficient of friction(Co F) increase. Finding a method to reduce the Co F in TFL is a significant challenge for tribologists. In the present work, we report a robust superlubricity attained by using polyalkylene glycols(PAGs, polar molecules) and poly-α-olefins(PAOs, nonpolar molecules) as lubricants on steel/steel friction pairs that have been pre-treated by wearing-in with polyethylene glycol aqueous solution(PEG(aq)). A steady superlubricity state with a Co F of 0.0045 for PAG100 and 0.006 for PAO6 could be maintained for at least 1 h. Various affecting factors, including the sliding velocity, normal load, and viscosity of the lubricants, were investigated. Element analysis proved that composite tribochemical layers were deposited on the worn region after the treatment with PEG(aq). These layers were formed by the tribochemical reactions between PEG and steel and composed of various substances including oxides, iron oxides, Fe OOH, and Fe(OH)3, which contributed to the superlubricity. In addition to the tribochemical layers, ordered layers and a fluid layer were formed by the PAGs and PAOs during the superlubricity periods. All the three types of layers contributed to the superlubricity, indicating that it was attained in the TFL regime. Accordingly, a mechanism was proposed for the superlubricity of the PAGs and PAOs in the TFL regime in this work. 6Nonlinear hysteresis identification and compensation based on the discrete Preisach model of an aircraft morphing wing device manipulated by an SMA actuator显示文摘The conception of aircraft morphing wings thrives in aeronautics since the appearance of shape memory alloys(SMAs). An aircraft morphing wing device, manipulated by an SMA actuator, inherits the intrinsic nonlinear hysteresis from the SMA actuator, ending up with control disadvantages. Conventionally, systems with SMA actuators are constrained to bi-stable states to bypass the hysteresis region. Rather than retreating a morphing wing device to bi-stable states, this paper is dedicated to transcend the morphing wing device beyond the customary limit. A methodology of discrete Preisach modeling, which identifies the hysteresis of the morphing wing device, is proposed herein. An array of discrete equal-distance points is applied to the Preisach plane in order to derive the Preisach density over the partitioned unit of the Preisach plane. Discrete Preisach modeling is fulfilled by the discrete first-order reversible curve(DFORC). By utilizing the discrete Preisach model, the aircraft morphing wing device is simulated; the validity and accuracy of discrete Preisach modeling are demonstrated by contrasting the simulated outcome with experimental data of the major hysteretic loop and the wingspan-wise displacement over time; a comparison between simulation and experimental results exhibits consistency. 7New achievements in superlubricity from International Workshop on Superlubricity: Fundamental and Applications显示文摘Since the term“superlubricity”was put forward at the beginning of 1990s,it has become one of the hottest researches in tribology due to it being close linked to the energy problems.Recently,the International Workshop on“Superlubricity:Fundamental and Applications”was successfully held on 19-20 October 2015 in Beijing,which has attracted many researchers in this field.The recent scientific results in both solid superlubricity and liquid superlubricity have been presented according to these invited wonderful lectures and posters.In the communication,we gave an introduction to the Workshop on Superlubricity,and also summarized the new achievements of superlubricity during recent years according to these reports.Finally,the problems of superlubricity mechanism and the future development direction of superlubricity are discussed.Jun XU Jinjin LI 2015Friction2015,3,4:7
8Crosstalk-free achromatic full Stokes imaging polarimetry metasurface enabled by polarization-dependent phase optimization显示文摘Imaging polarimetry is one of the most widely used analytical technologies for object detection and analysis.To date,most metasurface-based polarimetry techniques are severely limited by narrow operating bandwidths and inevitable crosstalk,leading to detrimental effects on imaging quality and measurement accuracy.Here,we propose a crosstalkfree broadband achromatic full Stokes imaging polarimeter consisting of polarization-sensitive dielectric metalenses,implemented by the principle of polarization-dependent phase optimization.Compared with the single-polarization optimization method,the average crosstalk has been reduced over three times under incident light with arbitrary polarization ranging from 9μm to 12μm,which guarantees the measurement of the polarization state more precisely.The experimental results indicate that the designed polarization-sensitive metalenses can effectively eliminate the chromatic aberration with polarization selectivity and negligible crosstalk.The measured average relative errors are 7.08%,8.62%,7.15%,and 7.59%at 9.3,9.6,10.3,and 10.6μm,respectively.Simultaneously,the broadband full polarization imaging capability of the device is also verified.This work is expected to have potential applications in wavefront detection,remote sensing,light-field imaging,and so forth.Yaxin Zhang Mingbo Pu Jinjin Jin Xinjian Lu Yinghui Guo Jixiang Cai Fei Zhang Yingli Ha Qiong He Mingfeng Xu Xiong Li Xiaoliang Ma Xiangang Luo 2022Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,11:6
9Mulching mode and planting density affect canopy interception loss of rainfall and water use efficiency of dryland maize on the Loess Plateau of China显示文摘High and efficient use of limited rainwater resources is of crucial importance for the crop production in arid and semi-arid areas. To investigate the effects of different soil and crop management practices(i.e., mulching mode treatments: flat cultivation with non-mulching, flat cultivation with straw mulching, plastic-covered ridge with bare furrow and plastic-covered ridge with straw-covered furrow; and planting density treatments: low planting density of 45,000 plants/hm^2, medium planting density of 67,500 plants/hm^2 and high planting density of 90,000 plants/hm^2) on rainfall partitioning by dryland maize canopy, especially the resulted net rainfall input beneath the maize canopy, we measured the gross rainfall, throughfall and stemflow at different growth stages of dryland maize in 2015 and 2016 on the Loess Plateau of China. The canopy interception loss was estimated by the water balance method. Soil water storage, leaf area index, grain yield(as well as it components) and water use efficiency of dryland maize were measured or calculated. Results showed that the cumulative throughfall, cumulative stemflow and cumulative canopy interception loss during the whole growing season accounted for 42.3%–77.5%, 15.1%–36.3% and 7.4%–21.4% of the total gross rainfall under different treatments, respectively. Soil mulching could promote the growth and development of dryland maize and enhance the capability of stemflow production and canopy interception loss, thereby increasing the relative stemflow and relative canopy interception loss and reducing the relative throughfall. The relative stemflow and relative canopy interception loss generally increased with increasing planting density, while the relative throughfall decreased with increasing planting density. During the two experimental years, mulching mode had no significant influence on net rainfall due to the compensation between throughfall and stemflow, whereas planting density significantly affected net rainfall. The highest grain yield and water use efficiency of dryland maize were obtained under the combination of medium planting density of 67,500 plants/hm^2 and mulching mode of plastic-covered ridge with straw-covered furrow. Soil mulching can reduce soil evaporation and retain more soil water for dryland maize without reducing the net rainfall input beneath the maize canopy, which may alleviate the contradiction between high soil water consumption and insufficient rainfall input of the soil. 11Effect of water-driven changes in rice rhizosphere on Cd lability in three soils with different pH显示文摘Pot experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of water management,namely continuous flooding(CF),intermittent flooding(IF)and non-flooding(NF),on Cd phytoavailaility in three paddy soils that differed in p H and in Cd concentrations.Diffusive gradients in thin films(DGT)technique was employed to monitor soil labile Cd and Fe concentrations simultaneously at three growth stages(tillering,heading and mature stage)of rice.The Cd phytoavailability were generally in the order of NF>IF>CF,and higher rice Cd(over permitted level,0.2 mg/kg)were only found in neutral and acidic soils under NF conditions.DGT measured soil labile Cd rather than total Cd was the most reliable predictor for Cd accumulation in rice.CF enhanced the formation of root plaques,which related to oxidation of large quantities of available Fe on root surfaces due to the O2 secretion of rice root.The Cd concentration in root plaques shared the same trend with DGT-Cd.Generally,root plaques would inhibit Cd uptake by rice under CF conditions,while under IF and NF conditions,root plaques act as a temporarily store of Cd,and soil labile Cd is the key factor that controls the transfer of Cd from soil to rice.The results of principle component analysis revealed that water management had the greatest effect on soil Cd lability and rice Cd in acidic soil.Thus,it is important to consider the availability of Cd and soil p H when assessing current agricultural practices of contaminated soil in China.Jinjin Wang Dongqin Li Qin Lu Yulong Zhang Huijuan Xu Xueli Wang Yongtao Li 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1:5
12Transcriptional regulation of the Herpes Simplex Virus 1α-gene by the viral immediate-early protein ICP22 in association with VP16显示文摘Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV1) is capable of inducing two forms of infection in individuals, and the establishment of which type of infection occurs is linked to the transcriptional activation of viral α genes. One of the HSV1 α genes, ICP22, is known to have multiple functions during virus replication, but its distinct roles are still unclear. This study showed that ICP22 functions as a general repressor for certain viral and cellular promoters, and this transcriptional repression by ICP22 is independent of the specific upstream promoter element, as shown using the CAT enzyme assay system. Further work also found that VP16 interfered with ICP22 mediated transcriptional repression of the viral α4 gene, through interactions with specific elements upstream of the α4 gene promoter. 13Nanoporous titanium implant surface promotes osteogenesis by suppressing osteoclastogenesis via integrin β1/FAKpY397/MAPK pathway显示文摘Macrophages and osteoclasts are both derived from monocyte/macrophage lineage,which plays as the osteoclastic part of bone metabolism.Although they are regulated by bone implant surface nanoarchitecture and involved in osseointegration,the beneath mechanism has not been simultaneously analyzed in a given surface model and their communication with osteoblasts is also blurring.Here,the effect of implant surface topography on monocyte/macrophage lineage osteoclastogenesis and the subsequent effect on osteogenesis are systematically investigated.The nanoporous surface is fabricated on titanium implant by etching and anodizing to get the nanotubes structure.The early bone formation around implant is significantly accelerated by the nanoporous surface in vivo.Meanwhile,the macrophage recruitment and osteoclast formation are increased and decreased respectively.Mechanistically,the integrin mediated FAK phosphorylation and its downstream MAPK pathway(p-p38)are significantly downregulated by the nanoporous surface,which account for the inhibition of osteoclastogenesis.In addition,the nanoporous surface can alleviate the inhibition of osteoclasts on osteogenesis by changing the secretion of clastokines,and accelerate bone regeneration by macrophage cytokine profiles.In conclusion,these data indicate that physical topography of implant surface is a critical factor modulating monocyte/macrophage lineage commitment,which provides theoretical guidance and mechanism basis for promoting osseointegration by coupling the osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis.Yide He Zhe Li Xin Ding Boya Xu Jinjin Wang Yi Li Fanghao Chen Fanhui Meng Wen Song Yumei Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:4
14Mutant p53 promotes cell spreading and migration via ARHGAP44显示文摘The tumor suppressor p53 protein is either lost or mutated in about half of all human cancers.Loss of p53 function is well known to influence cell spreading,migration and invasion.While expression of mutant p53 is not equivalent to p53 loss,mutant p53 can acquire new functions to drive cell spreading and migration via different mechanisms.In our study,we found that mutant p53 significantly increased cell spreading and migration when comparing with p53-null cells.RNA-Seq analysis suggested that Rho GTPase activating protein 44(ARHGAP44) is a new target of mutant p53,which suppressed AKHGAP44 transcription.ARHGAP44 has GAP activity and catalyze GTP hydrolysis on Cdc42.Higher level of GTP-Cdc42 was correlated with increase expression of mutant p53 and reduced ARHGAP44.Importantly,wt-ARHGAP44 but not mutant ARHGAP44(R291A) suppressed mutant p53 mediated cell spreading and migration.Bioinformatics analysis indicated lower expression of ARHGAP44 in lung carcinoma compared with normal tissues,which was verified by RT-qPCR using specimens from patients.More interestingly,ARHGAP44 mRNA level was lower in tumors with mutant p53 than those with normal p53.Collectively,our results disclose a new mechanism by which mutant p53 stimulates cell spreading and migration.Jinjin Xu Jian Jiao Wei Xu Lei Ji Dongjie Jiang Shaofang Xie Syeda Kubra Xiaotao Li Junjiang Fu Jianru Xiao Bianhong Zhang 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,9:4
15Targeted pH-responsive polyion complex micelle for controlled intracellular drug delivery显示文摘Cancer the rapy with nanoscale drug formulations has made significant progress in the past few decades.However,the selective accumulation and release of therapeutic agents in the lesion sites are still great challenges.To this end,we developed a cRGD-decorated pH-responsive polyion complex(PIC)micelle for intracellular targeted delivery of doxorubicin(DOX)to upregulate tumor inhibition and reduce toxicity.The PIC micelle was self-assembled via the electrostatic interaction between the positively charged cRGD-modified poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(L-lysine)and the anionic acid-sensitive 2,3-dimethylmaleic anhydride-modified doxorubicin(DAD).The decoration of cRGD enhanced the cell internalization of PIC micelle through the specific recognition ofαvβ3 integrin on the membrane of tumor cells.The active DOX was released under intracellular acidic microenvironment after endocytosis following the decomposition of DAD.Moreover,the targeted PIC micelle exhibited enhanced inhibition efficacies toward hepatoma in vitro and in vivo compared with the insensitive controls.The smart multifunctional micelle provides a promising platform for target intracellular delivery of therapeutic agent in cancer therapy.Pan Zheng Yang Liu Jinjin Chen Weiguo Xu Gao Li Jianxun Ding 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:4
16Phenolic Composition Analysis and Gene Expression in Developing Seeds of Yellow-and Black-seeded Brassica napus显示文摘Breeders have focused on yellow-seeded Brassica napus (rapeseed) for its better quality com- pared with the black-seeded variety. Moreover, flavonoids have been associated with this kind of rapeseed. In this study, we applied lipid chromatography-electrospray ionization mass spec- trometry (LC-ESI-MSn ) to compare flavonoids in developing seeds of natural black-seeded B. na- pus and yellow-seeded introgression lines selected from progenies of B. napus-Sinapis alba so- matic hybrids. Aside from the most abundant phenolic compounds (sinapine and sinapic acid) and 1, 2-disinapoylglucose, 16 different flavonoids were identified and quantified, including (-)- epicatechin, five monocharged oligomers of (-)-epicatechin ([DP 2]- , [DP 3]- , [DP 4] [DP 2]- B2 and [DP 2]- B5), quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin-dihexoside, kaempferol-sinapoyl-trihexoside, isorhamnetin- sinapoyl-trihexoside, isorhamnetin-hexoside-sulfate, and isorhamnetin-3-O-glucoside. Most of the flavonoids accumulated with seed development, whereas some rapidly decreased during maturation. The content of these flavonoids was lower in the yellow-seeded materials than in the black seeds. In addition, variations of insoluble procyanidin oligomers and soluble phenolic acids were observed among both rapeseed varieties. Transcriptome changes of genes participating in the flavonoid pathway were discovered by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analysis. 17Superlubricity of Si_3N_4 sliding against SiO_2 under linear contact conditions in phosphoric acid solutions显示文摘Superlubricity phenomena, which were previously achieved merely under point contact conditions, have been observed under the linear contact condition between the silicon nitride (Si3N4) cylinder and the silica (SiO2) ring in phosphoric acid solutions.After a total 800 s running-in period and low friction stage, the friction coefficient finally declined to about 0.003. The ultralow friction coefficient could last for more than 5 h. In these experiments, a torque sensor of high accuracy was used to make sure that the measuring result was credible. The differences between superlubricity experiments in our group and others were dis-cussed. Unlike the situations in other superlubricity experiments about silicon nitride, where the specimens were immersed in water totally, the phosphoric acid solution with volume of only 150 μL was used in these tests. It was proved that free water in the solution had a great relationship to the necessary time of acquiring superlubricity and phosphoric acid played a unique role in the superlubricity, which could not be explained properly by the hydrodynamic lubrication model proposed by others. 18Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair.Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li 2023Research2023,,3:3

20Ecological niches and blood sources of sand fly in an endemic focus of visceral leishmaniasis in Jiuzhaigou,Sichuan,China显示文摘Background:Sand fly Phlebotomus chinensis is a principle vector for the visceral leishmaniasis(VL)in China with a wide geographic distribution.Jiuzhaigou,Sichuan is a mountain type endemic area of VL in China.Long term effective control efforts in the region have successfully reduced VL transmission.To assess the current status of the sand flies and their ecological aspects in the region,a survey was conducted in the summer of 2014 and 2015.Methods:Sand fly specimens were collected by light traps in a village and blood sources were identified by PCR and sequencing of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene.Results:In a rock cave,65.2%–79.8%of collected sand flies were male.On a rabbit farm,92.9%–98.8%of specimens were female.In pig pens,61.1%of specimens were female.Some females had visible blood residues.The feeding rate was 49.4%from the pig pens,12.3%from the cave,and only 1.7%from the rabbit farm.Pig,rabbit,chicken,dog,and human blood were detected in the fed specimens.Swine blood,present in all tested samples,was a preferred blood source,while chicken and dog blood were present in a third of the samples.Conclusions:In Jiuzhaigou County,Sichuan Province of China,the considerable sandfly density and the peridomestic feeding behavior all increases the risk of VL transmission,and insecticide spraying in animal sheds could be exploited to reduce sand fly populations in human surroundings.Huiying Chen Kaili Li Hua Shi Yong Zhang Yu Ha Yan Wang Jinjin Jiang Yubin Wang Zhenzhou Yang Jiannong Xu Yajun Ma 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:3
