1Second harmonic generation in a high-Q lithium niobate microresonator fabricated by femtosecond laser micromachining显示文摘We report on second harmonic generation(SHG) in on-chip high-Q(>105) lithium niobate(Li Nb O3, LN) microresonators fabricated by femtosecond laser micromachining. We examine the efficiency of SHG with either a continuous-wave(CW) or an ultrashort pulsed pump laser. 2Advances in on-chip photonic devices based on lithium niobate on insulator显示文摘Crystalline lithium niobate(LN)is an important optical material because of its broad transmission window that spans from ultraviolet to mid-infrared and its large nonlinear and electro-optic coefficients.Furthermore,the recent development and commercialization of LN-on-insulator(LNOI)technology has opened an avenue for the realization of integrated on-chip photonic devices with unprecedented performances in terms of propagation loss,optical nonlinearity,and electro-optic tunability.This review begins with a brief introduction of the history and current status of LNOI photonics.We then discuss the fabrication techniques of LNOI-based photonic structures and devices.The recent revolution in the LN photonic industry has been sparked and is still being powered by innovations of the nanofabrication technology of LNOI,which enables the production of building block structures,such as optical microresonators and waveguides of unprecedented optical qualities.The following sections present various on-chip LNOI devices categorized into nonlinear photonic and electro-optic tunable devices and photonic-integrated circuits.Some conclusions and future perspectives are provided.JINTIAN LIN FANG BO YA CHENG JINGJUN XU 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:26
3Removal of metals by sorghum plants from contaminated land显示文摘The growth of high biomass crops facilitated by optimal of agronomic practices has been considered as an alternative to phytoremediation of soils contaminated by heavy metals. A field trial was carried out to evaluate the phytoextraction effciency of heavy metals by three varieties of sweet sorghum (Sorghum biocolor L.), a high biomass energy plant. Ethylene diamine tetraacetate (EDTA), ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) and ammonium sulphate ((NH4)2SO4) were tested for their abilities to enhance the removal of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Zn, and Cu by sweet sorghum from a contaminated agricultural soil. Sorghum plants always achieved the greatest removal of Pb by leaves and the greatest removal of Cd, Zn and Cu by stems. There was no significant difference among the Keller, Rio and Mray varieties of sweet sorghums in accumulating heavy metals. EDTA treatment was more effcient than ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate in promoting Pb accumulation in sweet sorghum from the contaminated agricultural soil. The application of ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate increased the accumulation of both Zn and Cd in roots of sorghum plants. 4Inductive heat property of Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles in AC magnetic field for local hyperthermia显示文摘Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles with different magnetic properties were prepared by coprecipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ with aqueous NaOH solution. The inductive heat properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in an alternating current (AC) magnetic field were investigated for local hyperthermia. The maximum saturation magnetization Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles is 65.53 emu·g-1 under the optimum conditions of Fe3+: Fe2+ molar ratio at 1.8:1. The Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles decreased as the Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio increased. But the coercivity Hc increases with the increasing of Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio. Exposed in the AC magnetic field for 29 min, the temperatures of physiological saline suspension containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles were 42-97.5 ℃. 5Optimization of control parameters of droplet density in citrus trees using UAVs and the Taguchi method显示文摘The control parameters of the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)should be carefully designed to improve UAV spraying performance on citrus trees.The present study investigated the optimal droplet distribution control parameters in citrus trees using a UAV and the Taguchi method,of which optimal results were observed with an inverted triangle citrus tree canopy shape,a spraying height of 1.40 m,and a flight speed of 1.0 m/s.Among the discussed control parameters,the flight speed presented the most significant effect with a contribution percentage of 74.0%.The established multiple regression model predicted an optimal spraying height of 1.27 m and a maximum droplet density of 35.39 droplets/cm2.In addition,the effects of individual control parameter on the droplet density of the lower layer of citrus trees were systematically analyzed,of which inverted triangle shape more significantly affected the droplet density of the lower layer and presented an 82.0%increase in droplet density as compared to the triangle shape.An improvement of 59.6%in the lower layer droplet density was observed at a spraying height of 1.40 m.In addition,the other spraying heights did not present significant differences in their coefficient of variation(CV)values.Chaojun Hou Yu Tang Shaoming Luo Jintian Lin Yong He Jiajun Zhuang Weifeng Huang 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,4:4
6Electro-optic tuning of a single-frequencyultranarrow linewidth microdisk laser显示文摘Single-frequency ultranarrow linewidth on-chip microlasers with a fast wavelength tunability play a game-changing role in a broad spectrum of applications ranging from coherent communication,light detection and ranging,to metrology and sensing.Design and fabrication of such light sources remain a challenge due to the difficulties in making a laser cavity that has an ultrahigh optical quality(Q)factor and supports only a single lasing frequency simultaneously.Here,we demonstrate a unique single-frequency ultranarrow linewidth lasing mechanism on an erbium ion-doped lithium niobate(LN)microdisk through simultaneous excitation of high-Q polygon modes at both pump and laser wavelengths.As the polygon modes are sparse within the optical gain bandwidth compared with the whispering gallery mode counterpart,while their Q factors(above 10 million)are even higher due to the significantly reduced scattering on their propagation paths,single-frequency lasing with a linewidth as narrow as 322 Hz is observed.The measured linewidth is three orders of magnitude narrower than the previous record in on-chip LN microlasers.Finally,enabled by the strong linear electro-optic effect of LN,real-time electro-optical tuning of the microlaser with a high tuning efficiency of∼50 pm∕100 V is demonstrated.Jintian Lin Saeed Farajollahi Zhiwei Fang Ni Yao Renhong Gao Jianglin Guan Li Deng Tao Lu Min Wang Haisu Zhang Wei Fang Lingling Qiao Ya Cheng 2022Advanced Photonics2022,4,3:4

8Geo-cognitive computing method for identifying“source-sink”landscape patterns of river basin non-point source pollution显示文摘The aim of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the influences of landscape composition and spatial structure on the transmission process of non-point source pollutants in different regions.The location-weighted landscape contrast index,using the hydrological response unit(HRULCI)as the minimum research unit,was proposed in this paper.Through the description of the endemic landscape types and various geographical factors in the basin,the index calculation can reflect the impact of the“source-sink”landscape structure on the non-point source pollution in different regions and quantitatively evaluate the contribution of different landscape types and geographical factors to non-point source pollution.This study constructed a method of geo-cognitive computing for identifying“source-sink”landscape patterns of river basin non-point source pollution at two levels.1)The basin level:the spatial distribution and landscape combination of the entire basin are identified,and the crucial“source”and“sink”landscape types are obtained to measure the differences in the non-point source pollutant transmission processes between the“source”and“sink”landscapes in the different watersheds.2)The landscape level:HRULCI is calculated based on multiple geographical correction weighting factors.By using the idea of intersecting geographic information system(GIS)and landscape ecology,the landscape spatial pattern and ecological processes are linked.Compared with the traditional method for studying landscape patterns,the calculation of HRULCI makes the proposed method more ecologically significant.Lastly,a case study was evaluated to verify the significance of the proposed research method by taking the Yanshi River basin,a sub-basin belonging to the Jiulong River basin located in Fujian Province,China,as the experimental study zone.The results showed that this method can reflect the spatial distribution characteristics of the“source-sink”types and their relationship with non-point source pollution.By comparing the resulting calculation based on HRULCI,the risk of nutrient loss and the influence of landscape patterns and ecological processes on non-point pollution in different catchments can be obtained.Zhang Xin Cui Jintian Liu Yuqi Wang Lei 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,5:3
9CFD simulation of a gas-solid fluidized bed with two vertical jets显示文摘A computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model is used to investigate the hydrodynamics of a gas-solid fluidized bed with two vertical jets.Sand particles with a density of 2660 kg/m3 and a diameter of 5.0×10-4 m are employed as the solid phase.Numerical computation is carried out in a 0.57 m×1.00 m two-dimensional bed using a commercial CFD code,CFX 4.4,together with user-defined Fortran subroutines.The applicability of the CFD model is validated by predicting the bed pressure drop in a bubbling fluidized bed,and the jet detachment time and equivalent bubble diameter in a fluidized bed with a single jet.Subsequently,the model is used to explore the hydrodynamics of two vertical jets in a fluidized bed. 11An effective spray drift-reducing method for a plant-protection unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘A spraying system for a plant-protection unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)was designed to reduce spray drift.A custom low-speed wind tunnel was constructed to generate a wind speed ranging from 0 to 5.92 m/s.The results showed that the wind speed was attenuated with an increase in distance.To compensate for the attenuation,a linear-fitting model was adopted.Then,the relationship between the spraying pressure and atomization rate was analyzed,and a fuzzy algorithm was adopted to adjust the spraying angle and pressure according to the wind speed and its changing rate.Finally,an evaluation of the proposed system in the compensated wind tunnel was conducted,and the drift distance was reduced by 33.7%compared with the system without adjustment of the spraying angle and pressure.Yayong Chen Chaojun Hou Yu Tang Jiajun Zhuang Jintian Lin Shaoming Luo 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,5:2
12Pullulan Acetate Coated Magnetite Nanoparticles for Hyper-Thermia:Preparation,Characterization and In Vitro Experiments显示文摘Amphipathic polymer pullulan acetate (PA)-coated magnetic nanoparticles were prepared and characterized by various physicochemical means. The cytotoxicity and cellular uptake of the magnetic nanoparticles were examined. The hyperthermic effect of the magnetic nanoparticles on tumor cells was evaluated. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed that the PA coated magnetic nanoparticles (PAMNs) had spherical morphology. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) showed that the size distribution of PAMNs was unimodal,with an average diameter of 25.8 nm ± 6.1 nm. The presence of the adsorbed layer of PA on the magnetite surface was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Magnetic measurements revealed that the saturation magnetization of the PAMNs reached 51.9 emu/g and the nanoparticles were superparamagnetic. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that the Fe_(3)O_(4) particles constituted 75 wt% of the PAMNs. The PAMNs had good heating properties in an alternating magnetic field. Cytotoxicity assay showed that PAMNs exhibited no significant cytotoxicity against L929 cells. TEM results showed that a large number of PAMNs were internalized into KB cells. PAMNs have good hyperthermia effect on KB cells in vitro by magnetic field induced hyperthermia. 13Hyperthermia by a nitinol stent in an alternating magnetic field:Safety and feasibility in rabbit esophageal cancer显示文摘Hyperthermia by heating in-stent is a potentially new method to treat esophageal cancer.This study assessed the safety of heating the rabbit esophagus with a nitinol stent in an alternating magnetic field(AMF) and investigated whether this method offers a therapeutic option for esophageal cancer.Nitinol stents were placed in the cervical esophagi of healthy rabbits,which were heated in an AMF for different times at 43,46 and 50℃.The esophagi were histologically examined after a week to observe whether there was transmural necroses.Then esophageal cancer of rabbit placed nitinol stents were heated in an AMF at 46℃for 10 min.Stents were heated to a target temperature within 5 min.The highest tolerated temperature and time for the healthy rabbit esophagus was at 46℃for 10 min.Tumor growth was delayed by heating and it was statistically significant.Heating the rabbit esophageal wall at 46℃for 10 min proves to be safe and effective in delaying tumor growth.Jumei Zhou Ning Li Qisheng Xia Lehui Du Xiaowen Wang Linyun Zhao Xufei Wang Jintian Tang 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,12:1

20Local adaptive segmentation algorithm for 3-D medical image based on robust feature statistics显示文摘Medical image segmentation is of pivotal importance in computer-aided clinical diagnosis. Many factors, including noises, bias field effect, local volume effect, as well as tissue movement may affect the medical image, thus causing blurring or uneven characteristics when forming a picture. Such quality defects will inevitably impair the gray-scale difference between adjacent tissues and lead to insufficient segmentation or even leakage during tissue or organ segmentation. In the present investigation, a local adaptive segmentation algorithm for 3-D medical image based on robust feature statistics(LARFS) was proposed. By combining segmentation algorithm principles for traditional region growing(RG) and robust feature statistics(RFS), the location and neighborhood image information of input seed point can be comprehensively analyzed by LARFS.Results show that, for different segmentation objects, under controlling the input parameter of growing factor within certain range, LARFS segmentation algorithm can adapt well to the regional geometric shape. And because the robust feature statistics is applied in the contour evolution process, LARFS algorithm is not sensitive to noises and not easily influenced by image contrast and object topology.
