1The effect of slight to minor biodegradation on C_6 to C_7 light hydrocarbons in crude oils: a case study from Dawanqi Oilfield in the Tarim Basin,NW China显示文摘Light hydrocarbons(LHs) are one of the main petroleum fractions in crude oils, and carry much information regarding the genetic origin and alteration of crude oils. But secondary alterations—especially biodegradation—have a significant effect on the composition of LHs in crude oils. Because most of the LHs affected in oils underwent only slight biodegradation(rank 1 on the biodegradation scale), the variation of LHs can be used to describe more the refined features of biodegradation. Here,23 crude oils from the Dawanqi Oilfield in the Tarim Basin, NW China, eleven of which have been biodegraded to different extents, were analyzed in order to investigate the effect of slight to minor biodegradation on C_6–C_7 LHs.The study results showed that biodegradation resulted in the prior depletion of straight-chained alkanes, followed by branched alkanes. In slight and minor biodegraded oils,such biodegradation scale could not sufficiently affect C_6–C_7cycloalkanes. For branched C_6–C_7 alkanes, generally,monomethylalkanes are biodegraded earlier than dimethylalkanes and trimethylalkanes, which indicates that branched alkanes are more resistant to biodegradation, with the increase of substituted methyl groups on parent rings.The degree of alkylation is one of the primary controlling factors on the biodegradation of C_6–C_7 LHs. There is a particular case: although 2,2,3-trimethylbutane has a relative higher alkylation degree, 2,2-dimethylpentane is more resistant to biodegradation than 2,2,3-trimethylbutane. 2,2-Dimethylpentane is the most resistant to biodegradation in branched C_6–C_7 alkanes. Furthermore, the 2-methylpentane/3-methylpentane and 2-methylhexane/3-methylhexane ratios decreased steadily with increasing biodegradation,which implies that isomers of bilateral methyl groups are more prone to bacterial attack relative to mid-chain isomers. The position of the alkyls on the carbon skeleton is also one of the critical factors controlling the rate of biodegradation. With increasing biodegradation, Mango's LH parameters K1 values decrease and K2 values increase,the values of n-heptane and isoheptane decrease, and the indices of methylcyclohexane and cyclohexane increase.LH parameters should be applied cautiously for the biodegraded oils. Because biodegraded samples belong to slight or minor biodegraded oils, the values of n-heptane and isoheptane from Dawanqi Oilfield can better reflect and determine the ‘‘Biodegraded'' zone. 2Effects of light quality on growth and development of cucumber seedlings in controlled environment显示文摘Conventional light sources have been successfully used to cultivate a wide variety of horticultural crops.However,they are of limited use due to uncontrollability of spectra and energy inefficiency.Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)emerged with tremendous potential in controlled environment agriculture due to their energy efficiency,longevity,and spectral specificity,but the effects of different types of LEDs on plant growth and development must be examined.In this study,cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.cv.Zhongnong 26)seedlings were grown under four different lighting treatments that each delivered a photosynthetic photon flux density of 200μmol/m2·s at plant canopy including triphosphate fluorescent lamps(TF),high-frequency fluorescent lamps(HF),white LEDs(WL),and red and blue LEDs(RBL).Cucumber seedlings were grown in a growth chamber at(25.0±1.5)℃with 12-hour light and 12-hour dark for 30 days after sowing,and data were subsequently collected.Seedlings grown under the WL were 45%,12%,and 40%taller than those grown under the TF,HF and RBL,respectively.The leaf area was 23%smaller under the TF than under the HF.The shoot dry weight was 16%-22%lower under the TF than under the other lighting treatments.The transplants grown under the RBL had the lowest root dry weight and root to shoot ratio.The seedling quality index was similar among all the lighting treatments.The LEDs treatment yielded more total dry weight with unit electric power compared to the fluorescent lamps.The chlorophyll content was 13%-15%higher in plants grown under the HF and WL than that under the TF and RBL.Plants grown under the WL and RBL had greater photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,and stomatal conductance than those grown under the TF and HF.It was concluded that high quality cucumber seedlings can be efficiently produced under the broad-spectrum WL that emit a reasonable amount of blue,green and red light,and the lack of green light and/or high ratio of red to blue light under the RBL may cause undesired plant attributes.Song Jinxiu Meng Qingwu Du Weifen He Dongxian 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,3:4
3The norepinephrine transporter gene is associated with the retardation symptoms of major depressive disorder in the Han Chinese population显示文摘The norepinephrine transporter plays an important role in the pathophysiology and pharmacological treatment of major depressive disorder.Consequently,the norepinephrine transporter gene is an attractive candidate in major depressive disorder research.In the present study,we evaluated the depression symptoms of subjects with major depressive disorder,who were all from the North of China and of Han Chinese origin,using the Hamilton Depression Scale.We examined the rela-tionship between two single nucleotide polymorphisms in the norepinephrine transporter,rs2242446 and rs5569,and the retardation symptoms of major depressive disorder using quantitative trait testing with the UNPHASED program.rs5569 was associated with depressed mood,and the GG genotype may be a risk factor for this;rs2242446 was associated with work and interest,and the TT genotype may be a risk factor for loss of interest.Our findings suggest that rs2242446 and rs5569 in the norepinephrine transporter gene are associated with the retardation symptoms of depression in the Han Chinese population.Xinrong Li Ning Sun Yong Xu Yanfang Wang Suping Li Qiaorong Du Juyi Peng Jinxiu Luo Kerang Zhang 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,25:3
4Non-destructive measurement of chlorophyll in tomato leaves using spectral transmittance显示文摘In this study,spectral transmittances were measured in the wavelength range from 300 nm to 1100 nm of tomato leaves with different chlorophyll contents and compositions,and the correlations between the spectral transmittances and the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll were analyzed.With the characteristic wavelengths of 560 nm,650 nm,720 nm and the reference wavelength of 940 nm,nine sets of characteristic spectral parameters were obtained.According to the results of correlation analysis and regression model exploration,characteristic spectral parameters of T940/T560,T940/T650 and log(T940/T560)among the nine sets of parameters were highly correlated to the estimated contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll of tomato leaves.The relative errors of total chlorophyll and chlorophyll a/b ratio were(5.1±3.7)%and(4.9±4.3)%,respectively.Therefore,the above three characteristic spectral parameters could be applied in the rapid non-destructive estimation of the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll as well as chlorophyll a/b ratio of tomato leaves.Wang Jianfeng He Dongxian Song Jinxiu Dou Haijie Du Weifen 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,5:1

6Effects of Low Temperature and Poor Light Environments under LED Lighting on Quality Change of Pepper Seedlings during Storage显示文摘Storage and transportation of vegetable commercial seedlings becomes an important link along with the continuous expansion of planting areas of facility vegetables and vegetable seedling culture industry. In this study,pepper variety‘Nongda 24' was as the experimental material,and changes in the morphological and physiological indicators of plug seedlings in different low temperature( 6 and 11℃) and poor light environments were studied to find suitable storage environmental conditions. The results showed that pepper seedlings could be stored and transported for 14 days when storage temperature was 11℃ and light conditions such as light intensity and photoperiod were 30 μmol/( m^2·s)and 12 h/d by using a fluorescent lamp with R∶ B ratio of 1. 9,and 15 μmol/( m^2·s) and 24 h/d by using LED with R∶ B ratio of 1. 3,respectively. Moreover,the quality of pepper seedlings could be protected effectively.
