| 1 | Perovskite synthesizability using graph neural networks显示文摘Perovskite is an important material type in geophysics and for technologically important applications.However,the number of synthetic perovskites remains relatively small.To accelerate the high-throughput discovery of perovskites,we propose a graph neural network model to assess their synthesizability.Our trained model shows a promising 0.957 out-of-sample true positive rate,significantly improving over empirical rule-based methods.Further validation is established by demonstrating that a significant portion of the virtual crystals that are predicted to be synthesizable have already been indeed synthesized in literature,and those with the lowest synthesizability scores have not been reported.While previous empirical strategies are mainly applicable to metal oxides,our model is general and capable of predicting the synthesizability across all classes of perovskites,including chalcogenide,halide,and hydride perovskites,as well as anti-perovskites.We apply the method to identify synthesizable perovskite candidates for two potential applications,the Li-rich ion conductors and metal halide optical materials that can be tested experimentally. | Geun Ho Gu Jidon Jang Juhwan Noh Aron Walsh Yousung Jung | 2022 | npj Computational Materials2022,,1: | 2 |

| 4 | Intravenous morphine self-administration alters accumbal microRNA profiles in the mouse brain显示文摘A significant amount of evidence indicates that micro RNAs(mi RNAs) play an important role in drug addiction. The nucleus accumbens(NAc) is a critical part of the brain's reward circuit and is involved in a variety of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, and drug addiction. However, few studies have examined the expression of mi RNAs and their functional roles in the NAc under conditions of morphine addiction. In this study, mice were intravenously infused with morphine(0.01, 0.03, 0.3, 1 and 3 mg/kg/infusion) and showed inverted U-shaped response. After morphine self-administration, NAc was used to analyze the functional networks of altered mi RNAs and their putative target m RNAs in the NAc following intravenous self-administration of morphine. We utilized several bioinformatics tools, including Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) pathway mapping and Cy Target Linker. We found that 62 mi RNAs were altered and exhibited differential expression patterns. The putative targets were related to diverse regulatory functions, such as neurogenesis, neurodegeneration, and synaptic plasticity, as well as the pharmacological effects of morphine(receptor internalization/endocytosis). | 5 | Highly stable integration of graphene Hall sensors on a microfluidic platform for magnetic sensing in whole blood显示文摘The detection and analysis of rare cells in complex media such as blood is increasingly important in biomedical research and clinical diagnostics.Micro-Hall detectors(μHD)for magnetic detection in blood have previously demonstrated ultrahigh sensitivity to rare cells.This sensitivity originates from the minimal magnetic background in blood,obviating cumbersome and detrimental sample preparation.However,the translation of this technology to clinical applications has been limited by inherently low throughput(<1 mL/h),susceptibility to clogging,and incompatibility with commercial CMOS foundry processing.To help overcome these challenges,we have developed CMOS-compatible graphene Hall sensors for integration with PDMS microfluidics for magnetic sensing in blood.We demonstrate that these grapheneμHDs can match the performance of the best publishedμHDs,can be passivated for robust use with whole blood,and can be integrated with microfluidics and sensing electronics for in-flow detection of magnetic beads.We show a proof-of-concept validation of our system on a silicon substrate and detect magnetic agarose beads,as a model for cells,demonstrating promise for future integration in clinical applications with a custom CMOS chip. | Nishal Shah Vasant Iyer Zhiping Zhang Zhaoli Gao Juhwan Park Venkata Yelleswarapu Firooz Aflatouni A.T.Charlie Johnson David Issadore | 2023 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,3: | 1 |

| 9 | Temporal profiles of synaptic plasticity-related signals in adult mouse hippocampus with methotrexate treatment显示文摘Methotrexate, which is used to treat many malignancies and autoimmune diseases, affects brain functions including hippocampal-dependent memory function. However, the precise mechanisms underlying methotrexate-induced hippocampal dysfunction are poorly understood. To evaluate temporal changes in synaptic plasticity-related signals, the expression and activity of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1, calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2, cAMP responsive element-binding protein, glutamate receptor 1, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor were examined in the hippocampi of adult C57BL/6 mice after methotrexate (40 mg/kg) intraperitoneal injection. Western blot analysis showed biphasic changes in synaptic plasticity-related signals in adult hippocampi following methotrexate treatment. N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1, calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II, and glutamate receptor 1 were acutely activated during the early phase (1 day post-injection), while extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 and cAMP responsive element-binding protein activation showed biphasic increases during the early (1 day post-injection) and late phases (7-14 days post-injection). Brain-derived neurotrophic factor and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor expression increased significantly during the late phase (7-14 days post-injection). | 15 | SYNCRIP controls miR-137 and striatal learning in animal models of methamphetamine abstinence显示文摘Abstinence from prolonged psychostimulant use prompts stimulant withdrawal syndrome.Molecular adaptations within the dorsal striatum have been considered the main hallmark of stimulant abstinence. Here we explored striatal miRNA-target interaction and its impact on circulating miRNA marker as well as behavioral dysfunctions in methamphetamine(MA) abstinence. We conducted miRNA sequencing and profiling in the nonhuman primate model of MA abstinence, followed by miRNA qPCR,LC-MS/MS proteomics, immunoassays, and behavior tests in mice. In nonhuman primates, MA abstinence triggered a lasting upregulation of miR-137 in the dorsal striatum but a simultaneous downregulation of circulating miR-137. In mice, aberrant increase in striatal miR-137-dependent inhibition of SYNCRIP essentially mediated the MA abstinence-induced reduction of circulating miR-137. Pathway modeling through experimental deduction illustrated that the MA abstinence-mediated downregulation of circulating miR-137 was caused by reduction of SYNCRIP-dependent miRNA sorting into the exosomes in the dorsal striatum. Furthermore, diminished SYNCRIP in the dorsal striatum was necessary for MA abstinence-induced behavioral bias towards egocentric spatial learning.
