| 16 | Identifying barriers to early diagnosis of breast cancer and perception of women in Malwa region of Punjab,India显示文摘Objective:The aim of present study is to identify the breast cancer screening barriers among the women with breast cancer of Malwa region of Punjab,India. The study was conducted at three government hospitals representing almost all districts of Malwa region. Methods:The quantitative research design was followed using empirical research methods.Study was carried out by one-to-one interview by the field investigator and research assistant.Total of 363 breast cancer patient has been interviewed through the scheduled questionnaire and results has been recorded for further analysis. In this study, five barriers are described namely as personal barriers,socio-cultural barriers, economic barriers, healthsystem barriers, and treatment barriers which contains various questions regarding barriers to breast cancer screening.Univariate analysis methods have been used for the analysis to access the socio-demographic profile of women.Data has been obtained with the help of 5-point liker scale.Binary logistic model was chosen. Results:Majority of participants were in the age groups 50-<60 years(3&6%,140/363)and>60 years(31.1%,112/363).Majority of these women(47.4%,171/363)were illiterate and most of them were housewives. The major barriers to breast cancer screening faced by most of the women were having no knowledge about screening services(90.9%,329/363),the importance of early diagnosis(90.9%,329/363),different screening methods(95.5%,347/363)and place of availing screening services(91.2%,330/363)misguided belief in God and fate(81.5%,295/363)and preferring duties than taking care of health(70.2%,254/363).Education qualification(odds ratio[OR]0.74,β'=-0.309,t=-5.357,P=0.000)and socioeconomic class(OR 1.43,β’=0.354,t=3.399,P=0.001)were found to be significant determinant of the barriers among women. Conclusion:The survey was conducted in the women between the age 40-60 years and as an outcome, the unawareness about screening services, fatalistic attitude, fear of being diagnosed with the cancer, low per capita income was found out significant factors that restricted the women for early check-up for the breast cancer. | Kuljinder Kaur Rachana Jajoo Subh Naman Tanushka Kandwal Gunteshwar Singh Brar Pardeep Garg Pritpal Singh Bhullar Ashish Baldi | 2023 | Global Health Journal2023,7,1: | 0 |
| 17 | Factors affecting the quantity and quality of platelet-rich plasma and platelet-derived growth factor-BB:an observational study显示文摘Objective:Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)releases growth factors upon activation, which in turn accelerates healing and regeneration of the target tissue. However,PRP composition may vary according to the patient’s demographics, and wider applications of PRP warrant product standardization. The current study aimed to examine variables influencing the platelet-derived growth factor BB(PDGF-BB)concentration in PRP.Methods:This observational study was conducted in the Department of Pathology and Dentistry at Swami Rama Himalayan University,a tertiary care hospital in northern India from December 2016 to November 2017.PRP was prepared from 40mL of whole blood from 35 individuals(22 women,13 men).Platelet counts, platelet indices(platelet distribution width, mean platelet volume)and PDGF-BB levels were measured, and platelet yield, platelet dose, and growth factor dose in PRP were also calculated. All parameters were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The association between PDGF-BB and PRP platelet count was evaluated using logistic regression. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Swami Rama Himalayan University(SRHU/HIMS/ETHICS/2016/103)on September 7,2016.Results:The mean platelet count,PDGF-BB concentration, platelet yield, platelet dose, and growth factor dose in PRP were 1317×10^(9)/L,30±9.89ng/mL,71.62±28.34%,6.5±3.5×10^(9),and 159.62±52.39ng/mL,respectively.Linear regression analysis indicated that PRP platelet counts were a good predictor for PGDF-BB(P<0.05;adjusted R^(2)=0.96.PRP platelet count was significantly positively correlated with PDGF-BB concentration(r=0.74,P<0.001),platelet yield(r=0.80,P<0.001),platelet dose(r=1,P<0.001),and growth factor dose(r=0.74,P<0.001).Conclusions:PRP has wide clinical applications associated with its healing and regenerative properties, and both the quality and quantity of PRP thus need to be standardized as per the requirements.Evaluating variables affecting PRP will thus aid pathologists and clinical practitioners. | Rahul Verma Abhishek Kandwal Gita Negi Harish Chandra | 2021 | Journal of Bio-X Research2021,4,2: | 0 |

| 19 | A Novel Flexible Antenna at Very High Frequency Band for On-Body Applications显示文摘This paper proposes a novel flexible antenna design operating at very high frequency(VHF)band for on-body applications such as human body communication(HBC).The antenna consists of back-to-back E-shaped fractal and complimentary structures designed over a thin flex-ible substrate. The overall design working on the principle of fractal geometries and capacitive coupling is highly beneficial to achieve better antenna characteristics even at low frequencies around 35 MHz-45 MHz that are being used for HBC application. The proposed antenna obtained a large bandwidth of around 10.0 MHz in air and a bandwidth of around 8.0 MHz during on-body opera-tion.The antenna has been tested in three different scenarios viz.air,on-body single antenna and on-body communication using two antennas. The insertion loss is reduced to a minimum in all three scenarios, which is quite beneficial for better signal transmission. The size miniaturization with high flexibility in such low frequencies has also been achieved in the paper that makes the proposed design suitable for human body communication applications. | Abhishek Kandwal Huajie Tang Pengfei Ao Kun Wang Jingzhen Li Yuhang Liu Tobore Igbe Zedong Nie | 2022 | Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2022,31,1: | 0 |
