1Organotin compounds in surface sediments from selected fishing ports along the Chinese coast显示文摘The concentrations and species of organotin compounds(OTCs) in 52 surface sediment samples from nine fishing ports along the Chinese coast were studied.Butyltins(BTs) and phenyltins(PhTs) were derivatized using sodium tetraethylborate(NaBEt 4) and determined by head-space solid-phase microextraction(HS-SPME) gas chromatography coupled with a flame photometric detector(GC-FPD).The concentrations of OTCs ranged from <3.6 to 194 ng(Sn) g-1 dry weight(dw) for monobutyltin(MBT),<2.3 to 41.5 ng(Sn) g-1 dw for dibutyltin(DBT),<0.7 to 86.0 ng(Sn) g-1 dw for tributyltin(TBT) and <5.1 to 66.1 ng(Sn) g-1 dw for monophenyltin(MPhT),respectively.The concentrations of diphenyltin(DPhT) and triphenyltin(TPhT) were below the limit of detection(LOD).BTs were the main species in the sediments except for the samples collected from Shazikou fishing port in Qingdao.The concentrations of MBT were higher than DBT and TBT.The concentrations of OTCs in the sediments varied widely among different sampling locations.The concentrations of BTs were much higher in the samples collected from fishing ports close to the South China Sea than those in coast of the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea.MPhT was prevalent in most sampling stations except for those in coast of the East China Sea.The environmental and ecotoxicological risks of TBT in most sediment samples were low.ZHANG KeGang SHI JianBo HE Bin XU WeiHai LI XiangDong JIANG GuiBin 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2:7
2Correlation of continuous electroencephalogram with clinical assessment scores in acute stroke patients显示文摘Objective To compare electroencephalogram (EEG) symmetry values between stroke patients with different 28-day outcomes, and to assess correlations between clinical characteristics and 28-day outcomes. Methods Twenty-two patients presenting with acute ischemic stroke and persistent neurological deficits at EEG recording were incrementally included. At 28 days after admission, the modified Rankin scale (mRS) was used to evaluate the outcomes, based on which the patients were divided into two a posteriori groups, mRS = 6 and mRS <6. Student's t-test was used to compare these two groups in terms of brain symmetry index (BSI), National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS), Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II (APACHE II) assessed at admission. Then EEG parameters, NIHSS, GCS and APACHE II were correlated with the mRS. Results There were significant differences in BSI, NIHSS, GCS, and APACHE II between the two groups. Survivors had lower BSI, NIHSS and APACHE II, and higher GCS values, compared with patients who died within 28 days after admission. Besides, BSI at admission had a positive correlation with mRS at 28 days (r = 0.441, P = 0.040). NIHSS and APACHE II were also correlated with mRS (r = 0.736, P <0.000 1; r = 0.667, P = 0.001, respectively). GCS at admission had a negative correlation with mRS (r = 0.656, P = 0.001). Conclusion A higher BSI predicts a poorer short-term prognosis for stroke patients. Acute EEG monitoring may be of prognostic value for 28-day outcomes. 14Butyltin compounds in vinegar collected in Beijing:Species distribution and source investigation显示文摘Forty-eight vinegar samples including white vinegar,rice vinegar and mature vinegar were collected from several markets in Beijing.Butyltin compounds were determined by headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography and flame photometric detector after in situ ethylation with sodium tetraethylborate.Butyltin species were detected in sixteen vinegar samples and ranged from 0.012 to 14.10 μg Sn L 1.The detection rate of white vinegar is higher than that of rice vinegar and mature vinegar.Vinegar samples with relatively high butyltin concentration(>1.5 μg Sn L 1) were those stored in plastic bags,indicating that the plastic bag was one of the possible sources of butyltin contamination.This was further confirmed by the leaching experiments of three selected plastic bags,and monobutyltin was detected in the leaching solvents.According to the estimation,the average daily intake of total butyltin compounds through vinegar consumption is about 0.04 ng Sn/kg b.w.,much lower than the Tolerable Daily Intake(TDI) of 100 ng Sn/kg b.w.set by the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA).CUI ZongYan ZHANG KeGang ZHOU QunFang LIU JiYan JIANG GuiBin 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,2:0

16Experimental investigation of gaseous solvent huff-n-puff in the Middle Bakken Formation显示文摘The efficacy of gaseous solvents in enhancing oil recovery(EOR)in unconventional reservoirs and the influence of operational and design parameters are still debated among the oil recovery research community.This work investigated the recovery-enhancing capabilities of two potent gaseous solvents,CO_(2) and ethane,in tight core samples.Laboratory huff-n-puff(H-n-P)experiments were conducted under three miscibility conditions to investigate the influence of the key operating parameters and the dependency of their impact on the miscibility conditions and gas composition.The results show that oil recovery increased with increasing pressure from below(BM)to above(AM)miscibility pressure in a non-linear trend,irrespective of the gas composition.Furthermore,the influence of the soak period was noticeably dependent on the miscibility condition,specifically more remarkable under AM conditions and less apparent under BM conditions.Likewise,the effect of the production period was more pronounced at AM conditions for both gases.Finally,the impact of rock surface area-to-volume(SA/V)was only observed at BM,where both gases recovered more oil in the core samples with high SA/V.In general,ethane showed a higher efficacy for oil recovery than CO_(2);CO_(2) recovered 21%–70%of oil in small core samples,while ethane could recover 32%–88%.The highest recovery was achieved with ethane injected under AM conditions,with a prolonged soak time,a short production period and into a core sample with a high SA/V.We believe the findings from this work will help better understand and design H-n-P EOR projects.Samuel Asante Afari Kegang Ling Demetrius Maxey Billel Sennaoui Jerjes Hurtado Porlles 2023Petroleum Science2023,20,6:0

18Study the suitability of neem seed oil for formulation of eco-friendly oil based drilling fluid显示文摘The present work intended to develop an invert emulsion drilling mud from biodegradable neem seed oil as an alternative to conventional diesel-based drilling mud.This would present comparable properties and performances with API standard requirements,ecologically friendly and at a low cost.Biodiesel produced from non-edible neem oil was used as the continuous phase in an invert emulsion-based drilling mud.Different tests to investigate the applicability of the mud for drilling applications were conducted.The rheological and lubricity tests results indicate that the neem oil biodiesel-based drilling muds are comparable with conventional diesel-based drilling muds.The produced biodiesel shows a significantly better flash point of 168℃ than the traditional diesel flash point of 70℃;indicating better fire safety than the conventional diesel.The lubricity and rheological data indicate the formulated mud with neem seed oil biodiesel fair reasonably well with conventional diesel and within the API requirements.In general,the preliminary results show that neem oil biodiesel is a potential alternative to conventional organic oil in formulating oil-based drilling mud in terms of technical and environmental analysis.Adesina Fadairo Gbadegesin Adeyemi Temitope Ogunkunle Kegang Ling Vamegh Rasouli Elijah Effiong James Ayoo 2021Petroleum Research2021,6,3:0
19Extensive prediction of drug response in mutation-subtype-specific LUAD with machine learning approach显示文摘Lung cancer is the most prevalent cancer diagnosis and the leading cause of cancer death worldwide.Therapeutic failure in lung cancer(LUAD)is heavily influenced by drug resistance.This challenge stems from the diverse cell populations within the tumor,each having unique genetic,epigenetic,and phenotypic profiles.Such variations lead to varied therapeutic responses,thereby contributing to tumor relapse and disease progression.Methods:The Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer(GDSC)database was used in this investigation to obtain the mRNA expression dataset,genomic mutation profile,and drug sensitivity information of NSCLS.Machine Learning(ML)methods,including Random Forest(RF),Artificial Neurol Network(ANN),and Support Vector Machine(SVM),were used to predict the response status of each compound based on the mRNA and mutation characteristics determined using statistical methods.The most suitable method for each drug was proposed by comparing the prediction accuracy of different ML methods,and the selected mRNA and mutation characteristics were identified as molecular features for the drug-responsive cancer subtype.Finally,the prognostic influence of molecular features on the mutational subtype of LUAD in publicly available datasets.Results:Our analyses yielded 1,564 gene features and 45 mutational features for 46 drugs.Applying the ML approach to predict the drug response for each medication revealed an upstanding performance for SVM in predicting Afuresertib drug response(area under the curve[AUC]0.875)using CIT,GAS2L3,STAG3L3,ATP2B4-mut,and IL15RA-mut as molecular features.Furthermore,the ANN algorithm using 9 mRNA characteristics demonstrated the highest prediction performance(AUC 0.780)in Gefitinib with CCL23-mut.Conclusion:This work extensively investigated the mRNA and mutation signatures associated with drug response in LUAD using a machine-learning approach and proposed a priority algorithm to predict drug response for different drugs.KEGANG JIA YAWEI WANG QI CAO YOUYU WANG 2024Oncology Research2024,32,2:0
20An improved model for severe slugging stability criteria in offshore pipeline-riser systems显示文摘Flow assurance has been a major challenge in petroleum production systems especially in offshore operations where severe slugging is a dominant aching issue.This is characterized by pulsating flow behavior which impacts the reservoir productivity,pipeline-riser systems,and surface facilities(separator).The only means so far,of delivering reservoir fluids from offshore wells to the separator at the surface is by pipeline-riser systems where slugging is most prominent and oftentimes unavoidable.Though passive and active measures have been deployed over time to mitigate the associated problem,there is the need to develop a predictive tool for mitigating offshore slugging in the riser system.This study involves the use of a model and analysis approach to eliminate severe slugging based on the balance of forces acting on the pipeline-riser system.Modified stability criteria which consider accumulation and frictional pressure drops have been developed.The current approach is solely physicsdriven,to predict the corresponding liquid and gas velocities at which the fluctuations would be severe when producing multiphase fluids through pipeline-riser systems.By balancing the forces acting on a riser-pipeline system and accounting for frictional and accumulation effects,two hydraulic flow modeling approaches have been used in this study to improve the criteria for predicting the condition of severe slugging.The developed criteria were computed using MATLAB/Simulink and a severe slugging flow map was generated.The“new study 1”and“new study 2”showed a 16%and 13%increase respectively in predicted unstable cases than the Malekzadeh criteria.The criteria were tested at different separator pressures.The Taitel and Jansen criteria could not predict severe slugging at elevated separator pressure.Notwithstanding,the developed flow maps using the“new study 1”are more reliable than the“new study 2”.This is because the“new study 2”approach over defines the physics of severe slugging.The criteria were also tested at varying accumulation times.This was done by step increments in the order of magnitude of time.The separator pressure affects the optimal time for modeling the accumulation at the riser-base.The criteria are therefore useful for predicting optimal operating conditions for flow assurance for the pipeline-riser system in consideration.Adesina Fadairo Chinemerem Obi Kegang Ling Vamegh Rasouli Olumuyiwa Aboaba Olumide Gbadamosi 2022Petroleum Research2022,7,3:0
