| 1 | Changes of Reactive Oxygen Species and Related Enzymes in Mitochondrial Respiration During Storage of Harvested Peach Fruits显示文摘Peach fruits [Prumus persica (L.) Batsch, cv. Yuhuasanhao] were used as materials to investigate the changes of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and related enzymes in mitochondria respiration during storage and then their influence on senescence of harvested Peach fruits was studied. The results showed that low temperature (5℃) strongly inhibited the reduction of firmness and the increase in respiration rate. During storage at ambient temperature (20℃), ROS had a cumulative process while malondialdehye (MDA) content continued to increase in associated with enhanced membrane lipid peroxidation. Lipoxygenase (LOX) activity was strongly inhibited under the low temperature condition. The activities of succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), cytochrome C oxidase (CCO), and Ca2+-ATPase declined to a certain extent at ambient temperature, while they showed higher activities at low temperature, which may be related to lower membrane lipid peroxidation at low temperature. Higher Ca2+ content at ambient temperature may be responsible for impairment of mitochondrial function, thus, leading to fruit senescence. The results showed that under low temperature condition, the low accumulation of ROS and the low level of membrane lipid peroxidation could maintain the function of mitochondria that would help to delay the senescence of peach fruits. These suggested a close relationship existed between ROS metabolism and mitochondrial respiration. | 2 | Risk factors for early recurrence of small hepatocellular carcinoma after curative resection显示文摘BACKGROUND:Poorer prognosis is seen in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after curative hepatic resection with early recurrence (≤1 year) than in those with late recurrence (>1 year).This study aimed to identify risk factors for postoperative early recurrence of small HCC (≤3 cm in diameter).METHODS:The study population consisted of 158 patients who underwent curative resection for small HCC between January 2002 and July 2004.Risk factors for early recurrence were analyzed.RESULTS:Thirty-three (20.8%) patients developed early recurrence after surgery.Univariate analysis showed the following significant risk factors for early recurrence in small HCC:serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level >100 ng/ml,lack of tumor capsule formation,microscopic vascular invasion,high Edmonson-Steiner grades,and cytokeratin-19 (CK-19) expression (P<0.05).Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis showed that serum AFP level >100 ng/ml (odds ratio 2.561,95% confidence interval 1.057 to 6.206,P=0.037) and microscopic vascular invasion (odds ratio 4.549,95% confidence interval 1.865 to 11.097,P=0.001) were independent factors.CONCLUSIONS:Postoperative early recurrence is related to serum AFP level >100 ng/ml and microscopic vascular invasion in patients with small HCC.Adjuvant therapy and careful follow-up are required for patients with these risk factors. | Zhou, Yan-Ming Yang, Jia-Mei Li, Bin Yin, Zheng-Feng Xu, Feng Wang, Bin Xu, Wen Kan, Tong | 2010 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010，9，1： | 24 |

| 4 | Upregulation of Chemokine CXCL12 in the Dorsal Root Ganglia and Spinal Cord Contributes to the Development and Maintenance of Neuropathic Pain Following Spared Nerve Injury in Rats显示文摘Emerging evidence indicates that CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling is involved in chronic pain. However, few studies have systemically assessed its role in direct nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain and the underlying mechanism. Here, we determined that spared nerve injury(SNI)increased the expression of CXCL12 and its cognate receptor CXCR4 in lumbar 5 dorsal root ganglia(DRG)neurons and satellite glial cells. SNI also induced longlasting upregulation of CXCL12 and CXCR4 in the ipsilateral L4–5 spinal cord dorsal horn, characterized by CXCL12 expression in neurons and microglia, and CXCR4 expression in neurons and astrocytes. Moreover, SNIinduced a sustained increase in TNF-a expression in the DRG and spinal cord. Intraperitoneal injection(i.p.) of the TNF-a synthesis inhibitor thalidomide reduced the SNI-induced mechanical hypersensitivity and inhibited the expression of CXCL12 in the DRG and spinal cord.Intrathecal injection(i.t.) of the CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100, both 30 min before and 7 days after SNI,reduced the behavioral signs of allodynia. Rats given an i.t.or i.p. bolus of AMD3100 on day 8 of SNI exhibited attenuated abnormal pain behaviors. The neuropathic pain established following SNI was also impaired by i.t. administration of a CXCL12-neutralizing antibody. Moreover,repetitive i.t. AMD3100 administration prevented the activation of ERK in the spinal cord. The mechanical hypersensitivity induced in na?¨ve rats by i.t. CXCL12 was alleviated by pretreatment with the MEK inhibitor PD98059. | 11 | MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING CHARACTERISTICS AND SURGICAL RESULTS OF ADRENOCORTICOTROPIN-SECRETING PITUITARY ADENOMAS显示文摘Objective To evaluate magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)characteristics and surgical results of adrenocorticotropin(ACTH)-secreting pituitary adenomas.Methods MRI characteristics and relationship between MRI positive rate and surgical results of 266 patients with pathologically confirmed Cushing's disease were analyzed retrospectively.All patients underwent thin-section sagittal and coronal scans of the pituitary gland before and after administration of gadolinium-diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid(Gd-DTPA)on a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner,and dynamic enhanced MRI was performed in 39 patients.All patients underwent transsphenoidal adenomectomy.Endocrinological examinations and assessments were performed.Results Preoperative MRI revealed normal results in 41(15.4%)cases,microadenoma in 179(67.3%),macroadenoma in 42(15.8%),and huge adenoma in 4(1.5%).Pituitary apoplexy was found in 13(4.9%)cases.Positive rate of ACTH-secreting adenomas was 84.6%(225/266)on MRI scans,and that of small microadenomas was 87.2%(34/39)on dynamic enhanced MRI scans.Preoperative endocrinological tests of 199 cases supported the diagnosis of typical Cushing's disease,while the other 67 cases had atypical endocrinological results.The endocrinological cure rate,remission rate,and inefficacy rate were 85.7%,7.9%,and 6.4%,respectively.There was no difference in the initial endocrinological cure rate between the patients with positive and normal MRI results(90% vs.87.8%,P=0.904).Conclusions Enhanced coronal pituitary MRI is helpful for preoperative localization of ACTH-secreting pituitary microadenoma.Dynamic enhanced MRI may improve detection rate of microadenoma.There is no marked difference in the surgical results for patients with preoperative MRI results indicating presence or absence of microadenoma. | Bing Xing Kan Deng Zu-yuan Ren Chang-bao Su Ren-zhi Wang Yi Yang Wen-bin Ma Yong-ning Li | 2008 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2008，23，1： | 9 |
| 12 | Meta-analysis of the efficacy of probiotics in Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the role of probiotics in the standard triple Helicobacter pylori therapy.METHODS:In this meta-analysis,we investigated the efficacy of probiotics in a standard triple H.pylori therapy in adults.Searches were mainly conducted in MEDLINE/Pub Med,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials.Fourteen studies met our criteria,and the quality of these studies was assessedusing the Jadad scale.We used STATA version 12.0to extract data and to calculate the odds ratios(ORs),which are presented with the corresponding 95%confidence intervals(CIs).The data are presented as forest plots.RESULTS:The pooled ORs for the eradication rates calculated by intention-to-treat analysis and perprotocol analysis in the probiotic group vs the control group were 1.67(95%CI:1.38-2.02)and 1.68(95%CI:1.35-2.08),respectively,using the fixed-effects model.The sensitivity of the Asian studies was greater than that of the Caucasian studies(Asian:OR=1.78,95%CI:1.40-2.26;Caucasian:OR=1.48,95%CI:1.06-2.05).The pooled OR for the incidence of total adverse effects was significantly lower in the probiotic group(OR=0.49,95%CI:0.26-0.94),using the random effects model,with significant heterogeneity(I2=85.7%).The incidence of diarrhea was significantly reduced in the probiotic group(OR=0.21,95%CI:0.06-0.74),whereas the incidence of taste disorders,metallic taste,vomiting,nausea,and epigastric pain did not differ significantly between the probiotic group and the control group.CONCLUSION:Supplementary probiotic preparations during standard triple H.pylori therapy may improve the eradication rate,particularly in Asian patients,and the incidence of total adverse effects. | Rong Zhu Kan Chen Yuan-Yuan Zheng Hua-Wei Zhang Jun-Shan Wang Yu-Jing Xia Wei-Qi Dai Fan Wang Miao Shen Ping Cheng Yan Zhang Cheng-Fen Wang Jing Yang Jing-Jing Li Jie Lu Ying-Qun Zhou Chuan-Yong Guo | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，47： | 9 |

| 14 | 3D C_f/SiBCN composites prepared by an improved polymer infiltration and pyrolysis显示文摘Using liquid poly(methylvinyl)borosilazanes(PMVBSZ)as precursor,carbon fiber reinforced SiBCN matrix composites(C_f/SiBCN)were fabricated by a modified polymer infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP)process.With dicumyl peroxide added as cross-linking agent,the PMVBSZ could be solidified at a low temperature of 120℃,leading to a high ceramic yield of~70%.The cross-linking mechanism and ceramization processes of the precursor were investigated in detail.Moreover,a modified infiltration technology was developed,which improved the efficiency and protected the precursor against moist air during PIP.Consequently,the obtained C_f/SiBCN composites had an oxygen content of around 1.22 wt%.Benefiting from the high ceramic yield and high efficiency of the modified PIP,C_f/SiBCN composites with an open porosity of~10%and uniform microstructure were obtained after only 7 cycles of PIP.The flexural strength and fracture toughness of the derived C_f/SiBCN composites were 371 MPa and 12.9 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This work provides a potential route for the fabrication of high performance C_f/SiBCN composites. | Qi DING Dewei NI Zhen WANG Hao ZHONG Hongda WANG Haijun ZHOU Yanmei KAN Shaoming DONG | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018，7，3： | 9 |

The as-prepare α-Fe_2O_3@C nanocomposites were employed for supercapacitor electrode material. The synergistic combination of carbon electrical double-layer capacitance and α-Fe_2O_3 pseudo-capacitance established such nanocomposites as versatile platform for high performance supercapacitors. | 16 | Effects of dynamic ventilatory factors on ventilatorinduced lung injury in acute respiratory distress syndrome dogs显示文摘BACKGROUND:Mechanical ventilation is a double-edged sword to acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) including lung injury,and systemic inflammatory response high tidal volumes are thought to increase mortality.The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of dynamic ventilatory factors on ventilator induced lung injury in a dog model of ARDS induced by hydrochloric acid instillation under volume controlled ventilation and to investigate the relationship between the dynamic factors and ventilator-induced lung injuries(VILI) and to explore its potential mechanisms.METHODS:Thirty-six healthy dogs were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group.Subjects in the experimental group were then further divided into four groups by different inspiratory stages of flow.Two mL of alveolar fluid was aspirated for detection of IL-8 and TNF-α.Lung tissue specimens were also extracted for total RNA,IL-8 by western blot and observed under an electronic microscope.RESULTS:IL-8 protein expression was significantly higher in group B than in groups A and D.Although the IL-8 protein expression was decreased in group C compared with group B,the difference was not statistically significant.The TNF-α ray degree of group B was significantly higher than that in the other groups(P<0.01),especially in group C(P>0.05).The alveolar volume of subjects in group B was significantly smaller,and cavity infiltration and cell autolysis were marked with a significant thicker alveolar septa,disorder of interval structures,and blurring of collagenous and elastic fiber structures.A large number of necrotic debris tissue was observed in group B.CONCLUSION:Mechanical ventilation with a large tidal volume,a high inspiratory flow and a high ventilation frequency can cause significant damage to lung tissue structure.It can significantly increase the expression of TNF-α and IL-8 as well as their mRNA expression.Furthermore,the results of our study showed that small tidal ventilation significantly reduces the release of proinflammatory media.This finding suggests that greater deterioration in lung injury during ARDS is associated with high inspiratory flow and high ventilation rate. | Rui-lan Wang Kan Xu Kang-long Yu Xue Tang Hui Xie | 2012 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2012，3，4： | 8 |
| 17 | Association of HER2 status with prognosis in gastric cancer patients undergoing R0 resection: A large-scale multicenter study in China显示文摘AIM: To determine whether the positive status of human epidermal growth receptor 2(HER2) can be regarded as an effective prognostic factor for patients with gastric cancer(GC) undergoing R0 resection.METHODS: A total of 1562 GC patients treated by R0 resection were recruited. HER2 status was evaluated in surgically resected samples of all the patients using immunohistochemical(IHC) staining. Correlations between HER2 status and clinicopathological characteristics were retrospective analyzed. Hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CIs) were estimated using Cox proportional hazard model, stratified by age, gender, tumor location and tumor-nodemetastasis(TNM) stage, with additional adjustment for potential prognostic factors.RESULTS: Among 1562 patients, 548(positive rate = 35.08%, 95%CI: 32.72%-37.45%) were HER2 positive. Positive status of HER2 was significantly correlated with gender(P = 0.004), minority(P < 0.001), tumor location(P = 0.001), pathological grade(P < 0.001), TNM stage(P < 0.001) and adjuvant radiotherapy(74.67% vs 23.53%, P = 0.011). No significant associations were observed between HER2 status and disease free survival(HR = 0.19, 95%CI: 0.96-1.46, P = 0.105) or overall survival(HR = 1.19, 95%CI: 0.96-1.48, P = 0.118) using multivariate analysis, although stratified analyses showed marginally statistically significant associations both in disease free survival and overall survival, especially among patients aged < 60 years or with early TNM stages(Ⅰ and Ⅱ). Categorical age, TNM stage, neural invasion, and adjuvant chemotherapy were, as expected, independent prognostic factors for both disease free survival and overall survival. | 18 | Dietary encapsulated essential oils and organic acids mixture improves gut health in broiler chickens challenged with necrotic enteritis显示文摘Background:The poultry industry is in need of effective antibiotic alternatives to control outbreaks of necrotic enteritis(NE)due to Clostridium perfringens.In the present study,we investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with a blend of encapsulated essential oils and organic acids(BLJ)on growth performance and gut health using a coinfection model of NE in broiler chickens.Methods:Two hundred and eighty-eight one-day-old male Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly assigned using a 2×2 factorial design into two groups fed either 0 or 500 mg/kg dietary BLJ and co-challenged(or not challenged for the control)with Eimeria spp./C.perfringens.Results:Infected birds fed the BLJ-supplemented diet exhibited an improved feed conversion ratio throughout the trial(P<0.01),a higher villus height and villus height/crypt depth ratio,and reduced intestinal C.perfringens counts,liver C.perfringens carriage,gut lesion scores and serum fluorescein isothiocyanate dextran(FITC-D)concentrations at 7 d postinfection compared with those of birds without BLJ supplementation(P<0.05).NE-infected birds fed BLJ exhibited significantly upregulated claudin-1 and IGF-2 mRNA levels(P<0.05),increased A20 mRNA expression and significantly downregulated TRAF-6,TNFSF15 and TOLLIP mRNA levels in the jejunum at 7 d post-infection compared with those in birds without BLJ supplementation(P<0.05).Compared with the uninfected and untreated birds,the uninfected birds fed BLJ displayed increased relative abundances of Lactobacillus and Coprococcus but reduced Rikenellaceae levels.Compared with the unsupplemented NE-challenged birds,infected birds fed BLJ showed an increased relative abundance of Unclassified_Lachnospiraceae and a significantly decreased relative abundance of Erysipelotrichaceae.Conclusion:BLJ supplementation improved growth performance and gut health in NE-infected broiler chickens by strengthening the intestinal barrier function,positively modulating the gut microbiota community and differentially regulating intestinal immune responses.Our results also suggested that adding BLJ effectively controlled NE infections after experimental Eimeria and Clostridium perfringens coinfection. | Van Hieu Pham Liugang Kan Jinyu Huang Yanqiang Geng Wenrui Zhen Yuming Guo Waseem Abbas Zhong Wang | 2020 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020，11，3： | 8 |
