1Status and distribution changes of the endangered Green Peafowl (Pavo muticus) in China over the past three decades (1990s-2017)显示文摘Background: Understanding the changes in population dynamics, including demographics, distribution and threats, is essential for species status assessing. The endangered Green Peafowl(Pavo muticus) has experienced sharp population declines and distribution range diminishing both in China and Southeast Asia. Field population surveys have not been conducted in China since the 1990 s, which hindered conservation planning and decision-making.Methods: With interview and line transects methods, we figured out the population and distribution changes of Green Peafowl across its historical ranges over the past three decades in China during 2014-2017.Results: The Green Peafowl once habituated in 54 counties in China. Nearly 60% of the distribution counties were lost in the past three decades, with the left 22 counties distributed in central, southern and western Yunnan, SW China. Population decrease detected in all distribution areas except for Shuangbai and Xinping county where more than 60% of the total population is located. Only about 30% of the former bird population were recorded with the same interviewing method as 20 years ago. Three birds, 1 carcass, 6 calls and 12 footprints were detected along the 865 km line transects, indic-ating extremely low encounter rate of Green Peafowl in field. Sharp decreases in flock sizes were also detected, from 820 birds per flock in the 1990 s to 3-5 birds at present. Poaching and habitat conversion are two widespread and long-lasting threats, while poisoning caused mortality in the past and hydropower construction affect regional population's survival. Large flocks of 18–27 birds were discovered in the field, which increases our confidence of population recovery of this endangered pheasant in China.Conclusions: Only interviewed bird number and counts based on line transects were presented in this study, without further population estimation due to limitation of the data sets. 2Nanoindentation analysis of TiN,TiAlN,and TiAlSiN coatings prepared by cathode ion plating显示文摘The TiN,TiAlN and TiAlSiN coatings were deposited on H13 hot-worked mold steel by cathodic arc ion plating(CAIP).The morphologies,phase compositions,and nanoindentation parameters,such as creep hardness,elastic modulus and plastic deformation energy of the coatings were analyzed with field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and nanoindentation testing,respectively,and the test results were compared with equation describing the indentation model.The results show that the TiN,TiAlN and TiAlSiN coating surfaces were dense and composed of TiN,TiN + TiAlN,TiN + Si3N4 + TiAlN phases,respectively.There was no spalling or cracking on the indentation surface.The creep hardness of the TiN,TiAlN and TiAlSiN coatings was 7.33,13.5,and 15.2 GPa,respectively;the corresponding hardness measured by nanoindentation was 7.09,15.6,and 21.7 GPa,respectively;and the corresponding elastic modulus was 201.93,172.79,and 162.77 GPa,respectively.The contact depth and elastic modulus calculated by the indentation model were close to those of the test results,but the remaining indentation parameters showed discrepancies.The sequence of plastic deformation energy was TiN > TiAlN>TiAlSiN.KONG DeJun FU GuiZhong 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,8:5

9Research on Residual Stress Induced by Laser Shot Peening显示文摘Laser shot peening (LSP) is a novel technology to impress a compressive residual stress into the surfaces of metals or alloys. This treatment can reduce the rate of fatigue cracking and stress corrosion cracking in structural metals or alloys. In this paper, some preliminary experiments were carried out with Nd:Glass laser of a pulse of 20 ns duration and 1.064 μm wavelength, an energy per pulse of 10 to 60 joules, and specimen was selected LY12CZ. The residual stress along the thickness effected by number of laser shots was taken into account in experiment. The magnitude of compressive residual stress near the surface increases with number of laser shots increasing, while decreases with the depth increasing. The mathematical modeling of laser shock processing was established, and a finite-element analysis method was based on ABAQUSExplicit software.
