2Targeting Tumor-Associated Macrophages by Anti-tumor Chinese Materia Medica显示文摘Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs) play a key role in all stages of tumorigenesis and tumor progression. TAMs secrete different kinds of cytokines, chemokines, and enzymes to affect the progression, metastasis, and resistance to therapy depending on their state of reprogramming. Therapeutic benefit in targeting TAMs suggests that macrophages are attractive targets for cancer treatment. Chinese materia medica(CMM) is an important approach for treating cancer in China and in the Asian region. According to the theory of Chinese medicine(CM) and its practice, some prescriptions of CM regulate the body's internal environment possibly including the remodeling the tumor microenvironment(TME). Here we briefly summarize the pivotal effects of TAMs in shaping the TME and promoting tumorigenesis, invasion, metastasisand immunosuppression. Furthermore, we illustrate the effects and mechanisms of CMM targeting TAMs in antitumor therapy. 3Heterostructured ZnFe_2O_4/Fe_2TiO_5/TiO_2 Composite Nanotube Arrays with an Improved Photocatalysis Degradation Efficiency Under Simulated Sunlight Irradiation显示文摘To improve the visible light absorption and photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays(TONTAs), ZnFe_2O_4(ZFO) nanocrystals were perfused into pristine TONTA pipelines using a novel bias voltageassisted perfusion method. ZFO nanocrystals were well anchored on the inner walls of the pristine TONTAs when the ZFO suspensions(0.025 mg m L^(-1)) were kept under a60 V bias voltage for 1 h. After annealing at 750 °C for2 h, the heterostructured ZFO/Fe_2 TiO_5(FTO)/TiO_2 composite nanotube arrays were successfully obtained. Furthermore, Fe^(3+)was reduced to Fe^(2+)when solid solution reactions occurred at the interface of ZFO and the pristine TONTAs. Introducing ZFO significantly enhanced thevisible light absorption of the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs relative to that of the annealed TONTAs. 4Rare case of Helicobacter pylori-positive multiorgan Ig G4-related disease and gastric cancer显示文摘A 61-year-old male from Northeast China presented with a 2-mo history of abdominal distension,pruritus and jaundice.Laboratory testing revealed an elevated serum Ig G4 level.A computed tomography scan showed a typical feature of autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP) and cholecystocholangitis.Early gastric cancer was incidentally discovered when endoscopic untrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(EUSFNA) of the pancreas was carried out.The patient underwent radical subtotal gastrectomy for gastric cancer combined with cholecystectomy.Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) and Ig G4-positive plasmacytes were detected in gastric cancer tissue,pancreatic EUSFNA sample and resected gallbladder specimen by immunohistochemistry.The patient was diagnosed with H.pylori-positive Ig G4-related AIP and sclerosing cholecystocholangitis as well as H.pylori-positive gastric cancer.He responded well to steroid therapy and remains healthy with no signs of recurrence at one year follow-up.We speculate that H.pylori might act as a trigger via direct or indirect action in the initiation of onset of gastric cancer and multiorgan Ig G4-related disease.Min Li Qiang Zhou Kun Yang David R Brigstock Lu Zhang Ming Xiu Li Sun Run-Ping Gao 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,11:2
5Deoxynivalenol accumulation and detoxification in cereals and its potential role in wheat-Fusarium graminearum interactions显示文摘Deoxynivalenol(DON)is a prominent mycotoxin showing significant accumulation in cereal plants during infection by the phytopathogen Fusarium graminearum.It is a virulence factor that is important in the spread of F.graminearum within cereal heads,and it causes serious yield losses and significant contamination of cereal grains.In recent decades,genetic and genomic studies have facilitated the characterization of the molecular pathways of DON biosynthesis in F.graminearum and the environmental factors that influence DON accumulation.In addition,diverse scab resistance traits related to the repression of DON accumulation in plants have been identified,and experimental studies of wheat–pathogen interactions have contributed to understanding detoxification mechanisms in host plants.The present review illustrates and summarizes the molecular networks of DON mycotoxin production in F.graminearum and the methods of DON detoxification in plants based on the current literature,which provides molecular targets for crop improvement programs.This review also comprehensively discusses recent advances and challenges related to genetic engineering-mediated cultivar improvements to strengthen scab resistance.Furthermore,ongoing advancements in genetic engineering will enable the application of these molecular targets to develop more scab-resistant wheat cultivars with DON detoxification traits.Kun Luo Jiao Guo Dejia He Guangwei Li Thérèse Ouellet 2023aBIOTECH2023,4,2:2
