| 1 | Effects of vitamin E succinate on the expression of Fas and PCNA proteins in human gastric carcinoma cells and its clinical significance显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of vitamin E succinate (VES) on the expression of Fas and PCNA proteins as well as its clinical significance in human gastric carcinoma, and to explore the mechanism of VES-induced inhibition of gastric carcinoma cell growth. METHODS: Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect Fas and PCNA expression both in human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells treated with VES at different doses and in human gastric carcinoma tissues. RESULTS: After the SGC-7901 cells were treated with VES at 5, 10, 20 mg/L for 48 h, the positive rates of Fas expression were 16%, 27% and 48%, respectively, significantly increased compared to that of control group (P<0.05); while the positive rates of PCNA expression in groups treated with different doses of VES were 20%, 18% and 7%, respectively, which were significantly decreased compared to that of the control group (P<0.05). In human gastric carcinoma tissues, the Fas positive expression rate was 42.4%(25/59), which declined with the decrease in the degree of tumor differentiation (P<0.05) and with the existence of lymph node metastasis (P<0.001). While the PCNA positive expression rate was 91.5%(54/59), no relationship was observed between PCNA expression and clinicopathologic parameters. CONCLUSION: VES inhibited the growth of gastric cancer cells by indudng Fas expression and inhibiting PCNA expression. It is, therefore, considered that the expression of Fas and PCNA genes, through tumor cell apoptosis and proliferation, respectively, may be useful as a clinical predictive index in the application of VES to gastric carcinoma therapy, where as Pas may be of more value than PCNA. | KunWu LanZhao YaoLi Yu-JuanShan Li-JieWu | 2004 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2004,10,7: | 8 |
| 2 | Improving coordination of plant growth and nitrogen metabolism for sustainable agriculture显示文摘The agricultural green revolution of the 1960s boosted cereal crop yield was in part due to cultivation of semi-dwarf green revolution varieties. The semi-dwarf plants resist lodging and require high nitrogen(N)fertilizer inputs to maximize yield. To produce higher grain yield, inorganic fertilizer has been overused by Chinese farmers in intensive crop production. With the ongoing increase in the food demand of global population and the environmental pollution, improving crop productivity with reduced N supply is a pressing challenge.Despite a great deal of research efforts,to date only a few genes that improve N use efficiency(NUE)have been identified. The molecular mechanisms underlying the coordination of plant growth, carbon(C)and N assimilation is still not fully understood, thus preventing significant improvement.Recent advances have shed light on how explore NUE within an overall plant biology system that considered the co-regulation of plant growth,C and N metabolisms as a whole, rather than focusing specifically on N uptake and assimilation. There are several potential approaches to improve NUE discussed in this review.Increasing knowledge of how plants sense and respond to changes in N availability,as well as identifying new targets for breeding strategies to simultaneously improve NUE and grain yield, could usher in a new green revolution. | Xiang Han KunWu Xiangdong Fu Qian Liu | 2020 | aBIOTECH2020,1,4: | 2 |

| 7 | Controlled growth of transition metal dichalcogenide via ther-mogravimetric prediction of precursors vapor concentration显示文摘Transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)alloys and heterostructures are attracting increasing attention thanks to their unique electronic, optical, and interfacial properties. However, the growth fundamental of TMD alloys and heterostructures during one-step growth is still beyond understanding.Here,thermogravimetric(TG/DTG)technology is introduced to predict the evolution of the precursor(MoO_(3)and WO_(3))concentration in the vapor during growth. We establish the correlation between precursor concentration and the corresponding growth behavior.TG/DTG predication suggests that tuning precursor temperature and powder ratio can alter their concentration in the vapor, well explaining the formation of Mo_(x)W_(1-x)Se_(2) alloy or MoSe_(2)-WSe_(2) heterostructure at different growth conditions.Based on the TG/DTG analysis,we further design and grow a complex MoSe_(2)-Mo_(x)W_(1-x)Se_(2)-WSe_(2) heterostructure and Mo_(x)W_(1-x)Se_(2) monolayer alloys, confirming the validity of TG/DTG prediction in TMD crystal synthesis. Thus, employing TG/DTG to predict the synthesis of two-dimensional materials is of importance to understand the TMD growth behavior and provide guidance to the desired TMD heterostructure formation for future photoelectric devices. | Long Fang Shaohua Tao Zhenzhen Tian Kunwu Liu Xi Li Jiang Zhou Han Huang Jun He Xiaoming Yuan | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,8: | 0 |
