2Fluorination vs. chlorination: a case study on high performance organic photovoltaic materials显示文摘Halogenation is a very efficient chemical modification method to tune the molecular energy levels, absorption spectra and molecular packing of organic semiconductors. Recently, in the field of organic solar cells(OSCs), both fluorine-and chlorinesubstituted photovoltaic materials, including donors and acceptors, demonstrated their great potentials in achieving high power conversion efficiencies(PCEs), raising a question that how to make a decision between fluorination and chlorination when designing materials. Herein, we systemically studied the impact of fluorination and chlorination on the properties of resulting donors(PBDB-T-2 F and PBDB-T-2 Cl) and acceptors(IT-4 F and IT-4 Cl). The results suggest that all the OSCs based on different donor and acceptor combinations can deliver good PCEs around 13%–14%. Chlorination is more effective than fluorination in downshifting the molecular energy levels and broadening the absorption spectra. The influence of chlorination and fluorination on the crystallinity of the resulting materials is dependent on their introduction positions. 5Geochemistry and genesis of authigenic pyrite from gas hydrate accumulation system in the Qilian Mountain permafrost, Qinghai, northwest China显示文摘A type of authigenic pyrites that fully fill or semi-fill the rock fractures of drillholes with gas hydrate anomalies are found in the Qilian Mountain permafrost; this type of pyrite is known as 'fracture-filling' pyrite. The occurrence of 'fracture-filling' pyrite has a certain similarity with that of the hydrate found in this region, and the pyrite is generally concentrated in the lower part of the hydrate layer or the hydrate anomaly layer. The morphology, trace elements, rare earth elements, and sulfur isotope analyses of samples from drillhole DK-6 indicate that the 'fracture-filling' pyrites are dominated by cubic ones mainly aligned in a step-like fashion along the surfaces of rock fractures and are associated with a circular structure, lower Co/Ni and Sr/Ba, lower ?REE, higher LREE, significant Eu negative anomalies, and ? 34 SCDT positive bias. In terms of the pyrites' unique crystal morphology and geochemical characteristics and their relationship with the hydrate layers or abnormal layers, they are closely related with the accumulation system of the gas hydrate in the Qilian Mountain permafrost. As climate change is an important factor in affecting the stability of the gas hydrate, formation of fracture-filling pyrites is most likely closely related to the secondary change of the metastable gas hydrate under the regional climate warming. The distribution intensity of these pyrites indicates that when the gas hydrate stability zone(GHSZ) is narrowing, the hydrate decomposition at the bottom of the GHSZ is stronger than that at the top of the GHSZ, whereas the hydrate decomposition within the GHSZ is relatively weak. 6In vitro differentiation of human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells into endothelial-like cells显示文摘The neovascularization of ischemic tis- sue is a crucial initial step for the functional rehabili- tation and wound healing. However, the short of seed cell candidate for the foundation of vascular network is still a big issue. Human adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (hADSCs), which possess multilineage potential, are capable of adipogenic, osteogenic, and chondrogenic differentiation. We examined whether this kind of stem cells could dif- ferentiate into endothelial-like cells and participate in blood vessel formation, and whether they could be used as an ideal cell source for therapeutic angio- genesis in ischemic diseases or vascularization of tissue constructs. The results showed that hADSCs, grown under appropriately induced conditions, dis- played characteristics similar to those of vessel en- dothelium. The differentiated cells expressed endo- thelial cell markers CD34 and vWF, and had high metabolism of acetylated low-density lipoprotein and prostacyclin. In addition, the induced cells were able to form tube-like structures when cultured on matrigel. Our data indicated that induced hADSCs could ex- hibit characteristics of endothelial cells. 7Effect of preoperative nutrition therapy type and duration on short-time outcomes in gastric cancer patient with gastric outlet obstruction显示文摘Objective:To avoid perioperative complications caused malnutrition,nutrition therapy is necessary in gastric outlet obstruction(GOO)patients.Compared to parenteral nutrition(PN),enteral nutrition(EN)is associated with many advantages.This study aimed to investigate whether preoperative EN has beneficial clinical effects compared to preoperative PN in gastric cancer patients with GOO undergoing surgery.Methods:According to the methods of preoperative nutrition therapy,143 patients were divided into EN group(n=42)and PN group(n=101)between January 2013 and December 2017 at the Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Hospital.Multiple logistic regression models were used to assess the association between the methods of preoperative nutrition therapy and postoperative day of flatus passage.The generalized additive model and twopiecewise linear regression model were used to calculate the inflection point of the preoperative nutritional therapy time on the postoperative day of flatus passage in the PN group.Results:EN shortened the postoperative day of flatus passage in gastric cancer patients with GOO,which is a protective factor,especially in patients who underwent non-radical operations and the postoperative day of flatus passage reduced when the preoperative PN therapy was up to 3 d and a longer PN therapy(>3 d)did not accelerate the postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal functions.Conclusions:Preoperative EN therapy would benefit gastric cancer patients with GOO by accelerating postoperative recovery.For patients with absolute obstruction,no more than 3-day PN therapy is recommended if patients can tolerate general anesthesia and surgery.Jiyang Li Shaoqing Li Hongqing Xi Peifa Liu Wenquan Liang Yunhe Gao Chuang Wang Bo Wei Lin Chen Yun Tang Zhi Qiao 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2:4

9Characterization of a Novel Gain-of-Function Spotted-Leaf Mutant with Enhanced Disease Resistance in Rice显示文摘We here reported the identification and characterization of a novel gain-of-function spotted-leaf 26 (Spl26) mutant from an ethylmethylsulfone (EMS)-induced rice cultivar IR64. Spl26 displayed reddish- brown lesions that firstly appeared on the leaf tips at the early tillering stage and spread gradually downward to cover the whole leaf blades that wilted subsequently. The lesion development was light- dependent under natural conditions. Spl26 exhibited impaired photosynthetic capacity with decreased chlorophyll content and lowered photosynthetic parameters which ultimately led to the poor performance of agronomic traits. Severe cell death occurred in Spl26 in accompany with increased malonaldehyde level and membrane ion leakage rate, elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, altered ROS scavenging activities, increased DNA fragmentation and decreased soluble protein levels. Defense responses were activated in Spl26 with enhanced resistance to rice bacterial blight, up-regulation of defense response genes and altered endogenous hormone levels. The spotted-leaf phenotype is controlled by a single dominant nuclear gene localized to a 305 kb region between RM5490 and InDel42 on the short arm of chromosome 7. 10Proliferation and differentiation into endothelial cells of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on poly DL-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) films显示文摘The functional realization is the most important problem in vascular tissue engineering. The small-caliber blood vessel substitutes are prone to thrombi, which results in functional loss of blood vessels. However, this is probably due to the imper- fection of endothelial layer in the substitutes. In this study, MSCs were seeded on a series of porous PLGA films with various porosity and pore size made by sodium chloride (NaCl) particulate leaching, and cell proliferation on each film was inspected. The film made of the 75% (w/w) particulate proportion and 30―50 μm pore size maximized the proliferation rate and was chosen as the scaffolds for the differentia- tion of MSCs into endothelial cells. The induced cells expressed endothelial cells specific Flk-1, Ⅷ factor and CD34, possessed endothelial cells specific Weible-palade (W-P) body, and had the abilities of ingesting low density lipoprotein and secreting prostacyclin (PGI2). 12Alternate partial root-zone irrigation with high irrigation frequency improves root growth and reduces unproductive water loss by apple trees in arid north-west China显示文摘Alternate partial root-zone irrigation(APRI)can improve water use efficiency in arid areas. However,the effectiveness and outcomes of different frequencies of APRI on water uptake capacity and physiological water use have not been reported. A two-year field experiment was conducted with two irrigation amounts(400 and500 mm) and three irrigation methods(conventional irrigation, APRI with high and low frequencies). Root length density, stomatal conductance, photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate, leaf water use efficiency, midday stem and leaf water potentials were measured. The results show that in comparison with conventional irrigation, APRI with high frequency significantly increased root length density and decreased water potentials and stomatal conductance.No differences in the above indicators between the two APRI frequencies were detected. A significantly positive relationship between stomatal conductance and root length density was found under APRI. 14Identification of Chinese Materia Medicas in Microscopic Powder Images显示文摘This paper describes an identification system for Chinese Materia Medicas (CMMs) in microscopic powder images.The imaging processing of the microscopic powder image is very complex because of the low contrast,blurry boundaries,overlapping objects,and messy background.Therefore,the object detection must segment the significant microscopic structures from the complex image.The objects are detected in these images using an adaptable interactive method.After identifying the significant microscopic structures,the system identifies 14 features belonging to three main characteristics.These features form a 14-dimensional vector that represents the microscopic structures.The multi-dimensional vector is then analyzed using a feature assignment algorithm that picks the most notable features to construct a decision tree with thresholds.The identification system consists of a coarse classifier based on the decision tree and a fine classifier using similarity measurements to rank the possible results.Tests on 528 images from 24 different kinds of microscopic structures show the system effectiveness and applicability.Shen Yan Yaoli Li Yixu Song Li Lin Peifa Jia Shaoqing Cai 2012Tsinghua Science and Technology2012,17,2:2

16Management of extramedullary plasmacytoma: Role of radiotherapy and prognostic factor analysis in 55 patients显示文摘Objective: To investigate potential prognostic factors affecting patient outcomes and to evaluate the optimal methods and effects of radiotherapy(RT) in the management of extramedullary plasmacytoma(EMP).Methods: Data from 55 patients with EMP between November 1999 and August 2015 were collected. The median age was 51(range, 22–77) years. The median tumor size was 3.5(range, 1.0–15.0) cm. The median applied dose was 50.0(range, 30.0–70.0) Gy. Thirty-nine patients(70.9%) presented with disease in the head or neck region. Twelve patients received RT alone, 9 received surgery(S) alone, 3 received chemotherapy(CT) alone, and 3 patients did not receive any treatment. Combination therapies were applied in 28 patients.Results:The median follow-up duration was 56 months.The 5-year local recurrence-free survival(LRFS),multiple myeloma-free survival(MMFS),progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)rates were 79.8%,78.6%,65.2% and 76.0%,respectively.Univariate analysis revealed that RT was a favourable factor for all examined endpoints.Furthermore,head and neck EMPs were associated with superior LRFS,MMFS and PFS.Tumor size<4 cm was associated with superior MMFS,PFS and OS;serum M protein negativity was associated with superior MMFS and PFS;age≥50 years and local recurrence were associated with poor MMFS.The dose≥45 Gy group exhibited superior 5-year LRFS,MMFS and PFS rates(94.7%,94.4%,90.0%,respectively),while the corresponding values for the dose<45 Gy group were 62.5%(P=0.008),53.3%(P=0.036)and 41.7%(P<0.001).Conclusions:Involved-site RT of at least 45 Gy should be considered for EMP.Furthermore,patients with head and neck EMP,tumor size<4 cm,age<50 years and serum M protein negativity had better outcomes.Ge Wen Weihu Wang Yujing Zhang Shaoqing Niu Qiwen Li Yexiong Li 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,5:2
17MoO_(x) and V_(2)O_(x) as hole and electron transport layers through functionalized intercalation in normal and inverted organic optoelectronic devices显示文摘To achieve fabrication and cost competitiveness in organic optoelectronic devices that include organic solar cells(OSCs)and organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs),it is desirable to have one type of material that can simultaneously function as both the electron and hole transport layers(ETLs and HTLs)of the organic devices in all device architectures(i.e.,normal and inverted architectures).We address this issue by proposing and demonstrating Cs-intercalated metal oxides(with various Cs mole ratios)as both the ETL and HTL of an organic optoelectronic device with normal and inverted device architectures.Our results demonstrate that the new approach works well for widely used transition metal oxides of molybdenum oxide(MoOx)and vanadium oxide(V_(2)O_(x)).Moreover,the Cs-intercalated metaloxide-based ETL and HTL can be easily formed under the conditions of a room temperature,water-free and solution-based process.These conditions favor practical applications of OSCs and OLEDs.Notably,with the analyses of the Kelvin Probe System,our approach of Cs-intercalated metal oxides with a wide mole ratio range of transition metals(Mo or V)/Cs from 1:0 to 1:0.75 can offer significant and continuous work function tuning as large as 1.31 eV for functioning as both an ETL and HTL.Consequently,our method of intercalated metal oxides can contribute to the emerging large-scale and low-cost organic optoelectronic devices.Xinchen Li Fengxian Xie Shaoqing Zhang Jianhui Hou Wallace CH Choy 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:2
18Printable SnO2 cathode interlayer with up to 500 nm thickness-tolerance for high-performance and large-area organic solar cells显示文摘The printable electrode interlayer with excellent thickness tolerance is crucial for mass production of organic solar cells(OSCs)by solution-based print techniques. Herein, high-quality printable SnO2 films are simply fabricated by spin-coating or bladecoating the chemical precipitated SnO2 colloid precursor with post thermal annealing treatment. The SnO2 films possess outstanding optical and electrical properties, especially extreme thickness-insensitivity. The interfacial electron trap density of SnO2 cathode interlayers(CILs) are very low and show negligible increase as the thicknesses increase from 10 to 160 nm,resulting in slight change of the power conversion efficiencies(PCEs) of the PM6:Y6 based OSCs from 16.10% to 13.07%. For blade-coated SnO2 CIL, the PCE remains high up to 12.08% even the thickness of SnO2 CIL is high up to 530 nm. More strikingly, the large-area OSCs of 100 mm2 with printed SnO2 CILs obtain a high efficiency of 12.74%. 19Road Performance,Thermal Conductivity,and Temperature Distribution of Steel Slag Rubber Asphalt Surface Layer显示文摘The use of steel slag,which is a by-product of the steel manufacture,in the construction of asphalt pavement would contribute to waste reduction and environment protection.Using rubber asphalt at the same time can improve the performance of asphalt mixture.This study investigates the influence of steel slag content on the road performance,thermal conductivity and outdoor temperature distribution of steel slag rubber asphalt mixtures(SSRAM),and calculates the cumulative stress in surface layer.At a certain range of concentration,the steel slag additive improved the deformation resistance and low-temperature cracking resistance of the mixtures.The SSRAM with 40%steel slag content has the best deformation resistance while SSRAM with 60%steel slag content performed well in low-temperature cracking resistance.The thermal conductivity of the SSRAM with different steel slag content(0%,20%,40%,60%,80%,and 100%)was 1.994,2.188,2.239,2.255,2.288,and 2.295 W/(m·K),respectively.Measurements of the outdoor temperature distribution further confirmed that steel slag increased the thermal conductivity of the mixtures,thereby increasing the cumulative temperature difference between the top and bottom layers.The temperature stress and temperature-stress ratio of the SSRAM with 40%steel slag were 0.43 MPa and 0.24,while the SSRAM with 100%steel slag were 0.58 MPa and 0.36.The stress and stress ratio were much higher in the SSRAM with 100%steel slag than in the specimen with 40%steel slag.Accordingly,the maximum accumulated temperature stress aggrandized and caused early temperature cracks in the surface layer.The optimum content of steel slag was 40%.Zhiqiang Shu Jianmin Wu Shaoqing Li Bingbing Zhang Jianqi Yang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,2:1
