| 1 | Non-coordination in China′s Urbanization: Assessment and Affecting Factors显示文摘Urbanization is a comprehensive concept,a trinity process that is based on the interactions and mutual influences among the population urbanization,economic urbanization and space urbanization,in which,people are the central and leading players in this process,while economic activities serve as the driving force and space is the carrier—the physical or material setting as well as the product.So the coordination among these processes is crucial for a country or region′s sustainable development.China is experiencing rapid growth of cities and a surge in urban population,with the basic national condition of many people and little land,which calls for a systematic study of the issue of coordinated urbanization from theoretical,methodological and practical perspectives.Based on the concept of urbanization and non-coordination of urbanization,this article built a quantitative method to identify and evaluate the urbanization and non-coordination of urbanization,and made an empirical analysis in China between 2000 and 2008.The results show that the non-coordination overall level of China′s urbanization declined during the study period,because population urbanization,economic urbanization,and space urbanization exhibited different trajectories of change.This study also reveals that performance assessment system,household registration system,and urban land expropriation system,etc.,are the main affecting factors.At the end,we put forward some suggestions to achieve sustainable development of China′s urbanization from the aspects of improving the local government′s objective function,implementing the urban planning system,enforcing public participation aspects and so on. | SUN Pingjun SONG Wei XIU Chunliang LIANG Zhenming | 2013 | Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,6: | 26 |
| 2 | Estimated biomass carbon in thinned Cunninghamia lanceolate plantations at different stand-ages显示文摘Chinese fir(Cunninghamia lanceolate[Lamb.]Hook.)is a fast-growing species which is not only important as a timber-supplier,but also as an available sink for carbon(C)storage in biomass.Stand age and density are two critical factors that can determine tree C sequestration as interrelated drivers through natural self-thinning.C.lanceolate were planted using 1-year-old bare-root seedlings at the initial density of 1800 stems ha^(-1)in a 15-ha montane area of Hunan Province,China in 1987.The plantation was thinned twice 10 and 20 years after planting to leave trees of437.5±26.6,675.0±155.2 and 895.8±60.1 stems ha^(-1)as low,medium,and high densities,respectively.Tree height and diameter at breast height(DBH)were measured every2 years beginning from 23 years(2009)to 31 years(2018)after establishment,timber volume(TV)and biomass C were estimated accordingly.We did not find any interactive effect of age and density on any variables except for height.Both TV and biomass C increased with stand age or decreased in higher densities.The allometric heightDBH relationship can be fitted by an exponential risingto-maximum model with higher maximum value over time.The decline of biomass C along density fit with the inverse first-order polynomial model which indicated that at least1300-1500 stems ha^(-1)may be needed to maximize TV and biomass C for a longer term over 20 years.Therefore,to control the density to a reasonable level,over 1300 stems ha^(-1)in a rotation over 20 years old will be practical for tree biomass C in Chinese fir plantations. | Xie Zhang Zhenming Wu Zhongkun Xu Liang Xu Qingqian Xu Jianzhong Lin | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,4: | 5 |
| 3 | Highly Dispersed Cobalt Nanoparticles Embedded in Nitrogen-Doped Graphitized Carbon for Fast and Durable Potassium Storage显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(KIBs)have great potential for applications in large-scale energy storage devices.However,the larger radius of K+leads to sluggish kinetics and inferior cycling performance,severely restricting its practical applicability.Herein,we propose a rational strategy involving a Prussian blue analogue-derived graphitized carbon anode with fast and durable potassium storage capability,which is constructed by encapsulating cobalt nanoparticles in nitrogen-doped graphitized carbon(Co-NC).Both experimental and theoretical results show that N-doping effectively promotes the uniform dispersion of cobalt nanoparticles in the carbon matrix through Co-N bonds.Moreover,the cobalt nanoparticles and strong Co-N bonds synergistically form a threedimensional conductive network,increase the number of adsorption sites,and reduce the diffusion energy barrier,thereby facilitating the adsorption and the diffusion kinetics.These multiple effects lead to enhanced reversible capacities of 305 and 208.6 mAh g^−1 after 100 and 300 cycles at 0.05 and 0.1 A g^−1,respectively,demonstrating the applicability of the Co-NC anode for KIBs. | Xiaodong Shi Zhenming Xu Cheng Han Runze Shi Xianwen Wu Bingan Lu Jiang Zhou Shuquan Liang | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2: | 4 |
| 4 | A Carboxymethyl Cellulase from a Marine Yeast(Aureobasidium pullulans 98): Its Purification, Characterization, Gene Cloning and Carboxymethyl Cellulose Digestion显示文摘We have reported that A. pullulans 98 produces a high yield of cellulase. In this study, a carboxymethyl cellulase(CMCase) in the supernatant of the culture of A. pullulans 98 was purified to homogeneity, and the maximum production of CMCase was 4.51 U(mg protein)-1. The SDS-PAGE analysis showed that the molecular mass of the purified CMCase was 67.0 k Da. The optimal temperature of the purified enzyme with considerable thermosensitivity was 40℃, much lower than that of the CMCases from other fungi. The optimal p H of the enzyme was 5.6, and the activity profile was stable in a range of acidity(p H 5.0–6.0). The enzyme was activated by Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, K+, Fe2+ and Cu2+, however, it was inhibited by Fe3+, Ba2+, Zn2+, Mn2+ and Ag+. Km and Vmax values of the purified enzyme were 4.7 mg m L-1 and 0.57 μmol L-1 min-1(mg protein)-1, respectively. Only oligosaccharides with different sizes were released from carboxymethylcellulose(CMC) after hydrolysis with the purified CMCase. The putative gene encoding CMCase was cloned from A. pullulans 98, which contained an open reading frame of 954 bp(EU978473). The protein deduced contained the conserved domain of cellulase superfamily(glucosyl hydrolase family 5). The N-terminal amino acid sequence of the purified CMCase was M-A-P-H-A-E-P-Q-S-Q-T-T-E-Q-T-S-S-G-Q-F, which was consistent with that deduced from the cloned gene. | 5 | OsMADS32 interacts with PI-like proteins and regulates rice flower development显示文摘OsMADS32 is a monocot specific MIKC^c type MADS-box gene that plays an important role in regulating rice floral meristem and organs identity, a crucial process for reproductive success and rice yield. However, its underlying mechanism of action remains to be clari fied. Here, we characterized a hypomorphic mutant allele of OsMADS32/CFO1, cfo1-3 and identi fied its function in controlling rice flower development by bioinformatics and protein-protein interaction analysis. The cfo1-3 mutant produces defective flowers,including loss of lodicule identity, formation of ectopic lodicule or hull-like organs and decreased stamen number,mimicking phenotypes related to the mutation of B class genes. Molecular characterization indicated that mis-splicing of OsMADS32 transcripts in the cfo1-3 mutant resulted in an extra eight amino acids in the K-domain of OsMADS32 protein.By yeast two hybrid and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays, we revealed that the insertion of eight amino acids or deletion of the internal region in the K1 subdomain of Os MADS32 affects the interaction between OsMADS32 with PISTILLATA(PI)-like proteins OsMADS2 and OsMADS4. | 6 | Intraspecific Diversity of Aureobasidium pullulans Strains from Different Marine Environments显示文摘Totally more than 500 yeast strains were isolated from seawater, sea sediments, mud of sea salterns, marine fish guts and marine algae. The results of routine and molecular biology identification methods show that nine strains among these marine yeasts belong to Aureobasidium pullulans, although the morphologies of their colonies are very different. The marine yeasts isolated from different marine environments indicate that A. pullulans is widely distributed in different environmental conditions. These Aureo-basidium pullulans strains include A. pullulans 4#2, A. pullulans N13d, A. pullulans HN3-11, A. pullulans HN2-3, A. pullulans JHSc, A. pullulans HN4.7, A. pullulans HN5.3, A. pullulans HN6.2 and A. pullulans W13a. A. pullulans 4#2 could produce cellulase and single cell protein. A. pullulans N13d could produce protease, lipase, amylase and cellulase. Both A. pullulans HN3-11 and A. pullulans HN2-3 were able to produce protease, lipase and cellulase. A. pullulans JHSc could secrete cellulase and killer toxin. Both A. pullulans HN4.7 and A. pullulans HN5.3 could yield lipase and cellulase. A. pullulans W13a was able to secrete extracellular amylase and cellulase while A. pullulans HN4.7 and A. pullulans N13d could produce siderophores. | 12 | Dramatic changes in the horizontal structure of mangrove forests in the largest delta of the northern Beibu Gulf, China显示文摘The horizontal structure of mangrove forests is an important characteristic that reflects a significant signal for coupling between mangroves and external drivers.While the loss and gain of mangroves has received much attention,little information about how the horizontal structure of mangrove forests develops from the seedling stage to maturity has been presented.Here,remote sensing images taken over approximately 15 years,UVA images,nutrient elements,sediments,and Aegiceras corniculatum vegetation parameters of the ecological quadrats along the Nanliu Delta,the largest delta of the northern Beibu Gulf in China,are analyzed to reveal changes in the horizontal structure of mangroves and their associated driving factors.The results show that both discrete structures and agglomerated structures can often be found in A.corniculatum seedlings and saplings.However,the combination of seedlings growing into maturity and new seedlings filling in available gaps causes the discrete structure of A.corniculatum to gradually vanish and the agglomerate structure to become stable.The aggregated structure of seedlings,compared to the discrete structure,can enhance the elevation beneath mangroves by trapping significantly more sediments,providing available spaces and conditions for seedlings to continue growing.Furthermore,by catching fine sediments with enriched nutrients,the survival rate of A.corniculatum seedlings in the agglomerated structure can be much higher than that in the discrete structure.Our results highlight the significance of the agglomeration of A.corniculatum,which can be beneficial to coastal mangrove restoration and management. | Riming Wang Zhijun Dai Hu Huang Xixing Liang Xiaoyan Zhou Zhenming Ge Baoqing Hu | 2023 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,7: | 0 |
| 13 | Effects of Ca(Y)-Si modifier on interface morphology and solute segregation during directional solidification of an austenite medium Mn steel显示文摘The austenite medium Mn steel modified with controlled additions of Ca, Y, Si were directionally solidified using the vertical Bridgman method to study the effects of Ca(Y)-Si modifier on the solid-liquid (S-L) interface morphology and solute segregation. The interface morphology and the C and Mn segregation of the steel directionally solidified at 6.9 μm/s were investigated with an image analysis and a scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The 0.5wt% Ca-Si modified steel is solidified with a planar S-L interface. The interface of the 1.0wt% Ca-Si modified steel is similar to that of the 0.5wt% Ca-Si modified steel, but with larger nodes. The 1.5wt% Ca-Si modified steel displays a cellular growth parttern. The S-L interface morphology of the 0.5wt% Ca-Si+1.0wt% Y-Si modified Mn steel appears as dendritic interface, and primary austenite dendrites reveal developed lateral branching at the quenched liquid. In the meantime, the independent austenite colonies are formed ahead of the S-L interface. A mechanism involving constitutional supercooling explains the S-L interface evolution. It depends mainly on the difference in the contents of Ca, Y, and Si ahead of the S-L interface.
