| 1 | Analysis of status and countermeasures of cancer incidence and mortality in China显示文摘Cancer is the leading cause of human deaths in the world and produces serious economic burdens. On September 12, 2018, the academic journal A Cancer Journal for Clinicians published an article about the latest statistics of cancers worldwide, which provided a status report on the global burden of 36 cancers in 185 countries worldwide. Cancer has also become a serious public health problem in China and caused more and more attention of the government and people in recent years. | 4 | Monitoring of atmospheric radionuclides from the Fukushima nuclear accident and assessing their impact on Xi'an, China显示文摘Aerosol radionuclides (131I, 134Cs, 137Cs) and gaseous radioactive xenon (133Xe) were monitored at Xi'an, China following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011. The additional annual effective dose attributable to the Fukushima emissions was much lower than the public annual effective dose from natural radiation, according to Chinese national standards. The monitoring results were compared with data from other countries as well as with the radionuclide concentrations observed in Xi'an after the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986. Possible transport pathways of the released radionuclides from Fukushima to Xi'an were investigated. | 5 | Filtering Chinese Image Spam Using Pseudo-OCR显示文摘For image spam filtering, the Optical character recognition(OCR) based methods often achieve a better performance due to the more complex structure of recognizing corresponding text. However, applying traditional OCR techniques usually introduced shortcomings like the expensive computational cost, vulnerability to image noises and artificial interferences, especially for Chinese image spam filtering. So, by optimizing recognition procedure of traditional OCR, we propose the idea of pseudo-OCR more suitable for Chinese image spam filtering. During which discriminating the potential image spam character features from ham ones is sufficient, instead of recognizing them. What's more, a novel Chinese key-point based character feature specific for pseudo-OCR is also devised and extracted using a carefully designed algorithm, which outperforms classic corner detection methods in finding such key-points. | 10 | Enhanced endosomal escape of dendrigraft poly-L-lysine polymers for the efficient gene therapy of breast cancer显示文摘Dendrimer,such as dendrigraft poly-L-lysine(DGL)polymers,with high surface charge density,well-defined structure,and narrow poly-dispersity is often employed as a gene vector,but its transfection efficiency is still partially inhibited due to poor endosomal escape ability.Herein,we used a surface modification strategy to enhance the endosomal escape ability of DGL polymers,and thus improved its gene transfection efficiency.A library of phenylboronic acid(PBA)modified DGL polymers(PBA-DGLs)was designed to screen efficient small interfering RNA(siRNA)vectors.The lead candidate screened from the library shown a capability of inducing nearly 90% gene silencing in MDA-MB-231 cells.The study of the transfection mechanism revealed that PBA modification not only improves siRNA cellular uptake,but,more importantly,endows DGL polymers the ability of endosomal escape.One of the top candidates from polyplexes was further shielded with hyaluronic acid to construct targeted nanoparticles,and the yielding nanoparticles significantly suppressed the tumor growth in a breast cancer model by effective siRNA delivery.This research provides a general and effective strategy to enhance the endosomal escape and transfection efficiency of dendrimer. | Li Ye Hongmei Liu Xin Fei Ding Ma Xiaozhen He Qianyun Tang Xue Zhao Hanbing Zou Xiaojing Chen Xianming Kong Peifeng Liu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 1 |

| 12 | Effect of initial gravimetric water content and cyclic wetting-drying on soil-water characteristic curves of disintegrated carbonaceous mudstone显示文摘The soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC)is often used to estimate unsaturated soil properties(e.g.strength,permeability,volume change,solute and thermal diffusivity).The SWCC of soil samples is significantly affected by cyclic wetting-drying.To examine how water content and cyclic wetting-drying affect the SWCC of disintegrated carbonaceous mudstone(DCM),SWCC tests were implemented using a pressure-plate apparatus.In addition,SWCC models for DCM considering the initial gravimetric water content and cyclic wetting-drying were developed.The test results showed that the volumetric water content(θ)of the DCM first decreased rapidly and then became stable as matric suction(s)increased.The initial water content affected the SWCC by altering the pore structure of the DCM.For a given number of wetting-drying cycles,the higher the initial water content,the higher the stabilizedθ.At a given s value,θdecreased as the number of wetting-drying cycles increased,which suggests that cyclic wetting-drying reduces the water-holding capacity of DCM.The Gardner model for DCM was constructed considering initial water content and cyclic wetting-drying,and was effective at describing and predicting the SWCC model for DCM. | Ling Zeng Fan Li Jie Liu Qianfeng Gao Hanbing Bian | 2019 | Transportation Safety and Environment2019,1,3: | 1 |
| 13 | Study on Sampling Technique of Atmospheric Radionuclide显示文摘Atmospheric radionuclide monitoring usually includes two sampling techniques,namely ultra-high volume aerosol samplers to collect atmospheric particles by using filter media,and radioactive noble gas samplers to collect atmospheric noble gas based on adsorption method. Atmospheric sampling techniques have been researched in Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology since the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty( CTBT) was signed in 1996. Several ultra-high volume aerosol samplers and some types of radioactive xenon isotopes samplers had been developed. For the aerosol sampler,the sampling flow is between 450 and 800 m3/h,with the minimum detectable concentration( MDC) of131 I less than5 μBq /m3. For the xenon sampler,the sampling capacity of xenon is more than 4 ml per day,with MDC of133 Xe less than 0. 25 mBq /m3. | 20 | Effects of zero-valent iron added in the flooding or drainage process on cadmium immobilization in an acid paddy soil显示文摘Zero-valent iron(ZVI)is a promising material for the remediation of Cd-contaminated paddy soils.However,the effects of ZVI added during flooding or drainage processes on cadmium(Cd)retention remain unclear.Herein,Cd-contaminated paddy soil was incubated for 40days of flooding and then for 15 days of drainage,and the underlying mechanisms of Cd immobilization coupled with Fe/S/N redox processes were investigated.The addition of ZVI to the flooding process was more conducive to Cd immobilization.Less potential available Cd was detected by adding ZVI before flooding,which may be due to the increase in paddy soil pH and newly formed secondary Fe minerals.Moreover,the reductive dissolution of Fe minerals promoted the release of soil colloids,thereby increasing significantly the surface sites and causing Cd immobilization.Additionally,the addition of ZVI before flooding played a vital role in Cd retention after soil drainage.In contrast,the addition of ZVI in the drainage phase was not conducive to Cd retention,which might be due to the rapid decrease in soil pH that inhibited Cd adsorption and further immobilization on soil surfaces.The findings of this study demonstrated that Cd availability in paddy soil was largely reduced by adding ZVI during the flooding period and provide a novel insight into the mechanisms of ZVI remediation in Cd-contaminated paddy soils. | Hanbing Meng Shiwen Hu Zebin Hong Wenting Chi Guojun Chen Kuan Cheng QiWang Tongxu Liu Fangbai Li Kexue Liu Yang Yang | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4: | 0 |
