1Association between the level of CD4^+T lymphocyte microRNA-155 and coronary artery disease in patients with unstable angina pectoris显示文摘Objective To study the association between the expression of microRNA-155(miRNA-155)in peripheral blood CD4^+T lymphocytes and the level of semrn interferon-7(IFN-7)concentration and the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD).Methods After coronary angiography,252patients with suspected unstable angina pectoris (UAP)were divided into the UAP group (128patients with CAD confirmed by angiography)and the control group (124patients without CAD confirmed by angiography).Fresh peripheral blood was extracted 16-24h before coronary angiography,CD4^+T lymphocytes was tested using immunomagnetic beads,the expression ofmiRNA-155was tested using quantitative PCR and the expression of IFN-7was tested using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).According to the results of angiography,Gensini score of coronary artery lesions was analyzed.Furthermore,we also analysis the association between the level of miRNA-155in peripheral blood CD4^+T lymphocytes,the level of serum IFN-γand Gensini score of coronary lesion.Results The levels ofmiRNA-155(0.49±0.08vs.0.23±0.09)and IFN-7(227.58±26.01vs.141.23±17.89)in the UAP group were significantly higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant.The level of miRNA-155and IFN-γwere positively correlated with Gensini score of CAD (r =0.534,r =0.713,respectively,all P <0.05).The level of miRNA-155was positively correlated with the level of IFN-γ,(r =0.686,P <0.05).Conclusions The level of miRNA-155in peripheral blood CD4^+T lymphocytes and the level of IFN-γ are closely correlated with the severity of CAD.Zi-Liang WE Hai-Li LU Qiang SU Lang Li 2018Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2018,15,10:16

10The role of prostate-specific antigen density and negative multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in excluding prostate cancer for biopsynaive men:clinical outcomes from a high-volume center in China显示文摘This study aimed to assess the role of prostate-specific antigen density(PSAD)and negative multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(mpMRI)in predicting prostate cancer for biopsy-naive men based on a large cohort of the Chinese population.From a prostate biopsy database between March 2017 and July 2021,we retrospectively identified 240 biopsy-naive patients with negative prebiopsy mpMRI(Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2[PI-RADS v2]score<3).Logistic regression analysis was performed to select the potential predictors for clinically significant prostate cancer(csPCa).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis and area under the ROC curve(AUC)were performed to assess the diagnostic accuracy.The negative predictive values of mpMRI in excluding any cancer and csPCa were 83.8%(201/240)and 90.8%(218/240),respectively.R0C curve analysis indicated that PSAD was the most promising predictor,with an AUC value of 0.786(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.699-0.874),and multiparametric logistic regression analysis confirmed that higher PSAD remained a significant marker for predicting csPCa(odds ratio[0R]:10.99,95%CI:2.75-44.02,P<0.001).Combining negative mpMRI and PSAD below 0.20 ng ml^(-2)obviously increased the predictive value in excluding PCa(91.0%,101/111)or csPCa(100.0%,111/111).If a PSAD below 0.20 ng ml^(-2)was set as the criterion to omit biopsy,nearly 46.3%of patients(463 per 1000)with negative mpMRI could safely avoid unnecessary biopsy,with approximately 4.2%of patients(42 per 1000)at risk of missed diagnosis of PCa and no patients with csPCa missed.A PI-RADS v2 score<3 and a PSAD<0.20 ng ml^(-2)could be potential criteria for the Chinese population to omit prompt biopsy safely.Chi-Chen Zhang Xiang Tu Tian-Hai Lin Di-Ming Cai Ling Yang Ling Nie Shi Qiu Zhen-Hua Liu Kun Jin Jia-Kun Li Xing-Yu Xiong Lu Yang Qiang We 2022Asian Journal of Andrology2022,24,6:1

15Fractionated evaluation of immunohistochemical hormone receptor expression enhances prognostic prediction in breast cancer patients treated with tamoxifen as adjuvant therapy显示文摘Objective:To compare the prognostic prediction between dichotomized and fractionated evaluations of hormone receptor expressions. Methods: Patients with stages I-III breast cancers, who received adjuvant tamoxifen, were enrolled. The expression of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) was evaluated by immu-nohistochemistry (IHC). A fractionated score (F score), the percentage of positive-staining nuclei (0=none, 1=1%-10%, 2=11%-30%, 3=31%-50%, 4=51%-70%, and 5=71%-100%), was assigned to each case. The dichotomized scoring method defines an F score >1 as positive. The prognostic values of both scores were compared by multiple Cox's proportional hazard models of disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Results: Four hundred and sixteen patients with a median follow-up of 78.0 months were included. F scores for ER and PR correlated directly with DFS and OS. Although both the dichotomized and fractionated ER and PR scores were significantly associated with DFS and OS in univariate analyses, only fractionated ER and PR scores remained as independent prognostic factors of DFS and OS in the final multiple Cox's proportional hazard models. 16Road surface mirage:A bunch of hot air?显示文摘The inferior mirage from road surfaces is a common phenomenon,which can be easily seen in everyday life.It has been recognized in the literature as a light refraction phenomenon due to the refractive index gradient caused by the temperature gradient in the air strata above the road surfaces.However,it was also suggested that the mirage is just a phenomenon of specular reflection at grazing incidence.Because of the lack of reasonable and quantitative evidence,the generally accepted light refraction theory has not yet been refuted.Here we show some mirror-like reflection images captured from a road surface stretch in Yujiashan North Road,Wuhan,China,when there was no obvious temperature gradient on or above the road,measured on a winter day in December 2009.This provided direct evidence to doubt the temperature induced light refraction mechanism of the inferior mirage.Furthermore,the critical grazing angle of about 0.2° to the road plane where the mirror-like reflection appears could not make the rough surface scatter incident light as a smooth surface according to the Rayleigh criterion.Therefore the phenomenon is a mirrorlike observation effect of scattering from the surface,which cannot be entirely explained by light refraction via air strata.The results demonstrate that the image-formation mechanism and the observer-based-analysis method shown here potentially offer a means of understanding a wide range of scattering phenomena from rough surfaces at grazing angle;for example,the superior mirages of unusual brightness occasionally observed over frozen lakes and the off-specular reflection phenomenon.ZHOU HuaiChun HUANG ZhiFeng CHENG Qiang LU We QIU Kui CHEN Chen HSU Pei-feng 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,10:0
