3Tea and Citrus maxima complex induces apoptosis of human liver cancer cells via PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in vitro显示文摘Objective:In this study,black tea and Citrus maxima(BT-CM),yellow tea and C.maxima(YT-CM),green tea and C.maxima(GT-CM)as subjects,the active ingredient content and antioxidant activity of three tea and C.maxima(T-CM)were analyzed.The effects of three T-CMs on apoptosis of liver cells in vitro and its mechanism were further explored.Methods:National standard method and HPLC were used for active ingredient analysis.MTT,cell fow cytometry and Western blot were used to analyze the effects of three T-CMs on cell proliferation,apoptosis,and its underlying molecular mechanism.Results:The content of tea polyphenols,free amino acids,ratio of polyphenols and amino acids,ester catechins,non-ester catechins and caffeine in YT-CM and GT-CM was significantly higher than that of BT-CM.The in vitro antioxidant capacity of YT-CM and GT-CM was also significantly stronger than that of BT-CM.Three T-CMs had the effects of inhibiting proliferation,arresting cell cycle and inducing apoptosis in HepG2 and Bel7402 cells,especially YT-CM and GT-CM.Western blot analysis showed three T-CMs activated PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and regulated the expression levels of apoptosis-related proteins Bax,Bcl-2 and Caspase-3/9.YT-CM and GT-CM had better ability to change the signal pathway than BT-CM.Conclusion:In short,T-CMs,which combined different degrees of fermentation tea with C.maxima,were rich in nutrients and biologically active substances.T-CMs,especially YT-CM and GT-CM,are healthy drinks that help to prevent and treat liver cancer.Shuai Wen Ran An Dongli Li Junxi Cao Zhigang Li Wenji Zhang Ruohong Chen Qiuhua Li Xingfei Lai Lingli Sun Shili Sun 2022Chinese Herbal Medicines2022,14,3:1

6Increasing Momentum-Like Factors:A Method for Reducing Training Errors on Multiple GPUs显示文摘In distributed training,increasing batch size can improve parallelism,but it can also bring many difficulties to the training process and cause training errors.In this work,we investigate the occurrence of training errors in theory and train ResNet-50 on CIFAR-10 by using Stochastic Gradient Descent(SGD) and Adaptive moment estimation(Adam) while keeping the total batch size in the parameter server constant and lowering the batch size on each Graphics Processing Unit(GPU).A new method that considers momentum to eliminate training errors in distributed training is proposed.We define a Momentum-like Factor(MF) to represent the influence of former gradients on parameter updates in each iteration.Then,we modify the MF values and conduct experiments to explore how different MF values influence the training performance based on SGD,Adam,and Nesterov accelerated gradient.Experimental results reveal that increasing MFs is a reliable method for reducing training errors in distributed training.The analysis of convergent conditions in distributed training with consideration of a large batch size and multiple GPUs is presented in this paper.Yu Tang Zhigang Kan Lujia Yin Zhiquan Lai Zhaoning Zhang Linbo Qiao Dongsheng Li 2022Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,1:1

12A new discovered ABCA1 gene polymorphisms and the association of ABCA1 SNPs with coronary artery disease and plasma lipids in Chinese population显示文摘Objective: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) gene are related to plasma lipid and susceptibility to coronary artery disease (CAD). Our first goal was to screen all 50 coding regions of ABCA1 to find new SNPs. Our second goal was to investigate the frequency distribution of R1587K and M883I polymorphisms of ABCA1 gene, which are the variant occurred most frequently, in Chinese people and to evaluate their association with the CAD phenotype and plasma lipids. Methods: Single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) and DNA sequence were used for confirming new SNP of ABCA1, and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) were applied for confirming genotypes of R1587K and M883I in 112 CAD cases and 108 healthy people. Results: We discovered a new ABCA1 SNP in Chinese population, which converse 233 amino acids from Methionine to Valine (M233V). This new ABCA1 SNP located in exon7, and might potentially modulate the biological function of lipid metabolism. For R1587K and M883I SNPs, the K allele and I allele frequency was 28.9%and 31.1%, respectively. The K allele at R1587K conferred lower mean values of HDL-C in a dose-dependent manner in both CAD patients and healthy people. However, 883I allele was not associated with plasma lipid level. Neither 1587KK nor 883II associated with increased risk of CAD. 15Using LA-ICP-MS to analysis elemental composition of statoliths of Scyphozoan jellyfish显示文摘Scyphozoan jellyfish outbreak events are drawing increasing attentions during the past decade.Elemental compositions of statoliths are helpful to understand jellyfish life history and blooming mechanisms,but very rare endeavor has been focused on the Scyphozoan class.In this work,we explored the feasibility of element analysis of Aurelia aurita(a representative Scyphozoan jellyfish outbreak species in China)which may be used as proxies of environment parameters during jellyfish living and moving.Statolith crystals of Aurelia aurita were found to be a gathering of hexahedron type trigonal needle with size of 10-50μm long,and 5-10μm in diameter.By using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS)downhole profiling method,elements such as Ca,Sr,Mg,Na and P were found to be above the limit of detection and limit of quantification.The epidermis of statocyst could significantly impact the element analyses,so the real statolith element signal section needs to be selected based on elements and Ca profiles together with care.By laser ablated a signal spot repeatedly,the analytical uncertainty was about 3%-4%for Sr/Ca content ratio and Mg/Ca content ratio,but above 10%for other element/Ca content ratios(n=3).Based on the analysis of statolith from temperature-control cultured jellyfish,Sr/Ca content ratios among different statoliths of the same jellyfish were about 6%(n=14),demonstrating biological processes/vital effects causing small variations compared with analytical uncertainties.Therefore,Sr/Ca content ratios may be used as a potential proxy to reveal the living environment variations the Scyphozoan jellyfish has experienced,such as temperature history,which is helpful to understand jellyfish bloom mechanisms.Tiezhu Mi Shibin Zhao Minzhi Qiu Bochao Xu Qingzhen Yao Yu Zhen Zhiqing Lai Fang Zhang Zhigang Yu 2022Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,11:0
