1Effects of Outdoor Temperature on Blood Pressure in a Prospective Cohort of Northwest China显示文摘Objective The relationship between outdoor temperature and blood pressure(BP) has been inconclusive. We analyzed data from a prospective cohort study in northwestern China to investigate the effect of outdoor temperature on BP and effect modification by season.Methods A total of 32,710 individuals who participated in both the baseline survey and the first follow-up in 2011–2015 were included in the study. A linear mixed-effect model and generalized additive mixed model(GAMM) were applied to estimate the association between outdoor temperature and BP after adjusting for confounding variables.Results The mean differences in systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP)between summer and winter were 3.5 mm Hg and 2.75 mm Hg, respectively. After adjusting for individual characteristics, meteorological factors and air pollutants, a significant increase in SBP and DBP was observed for lag 06 day and lag 04 day, a 0.28 mm Hg(95% CI: 0.27–0.30) per 1 °C decrease in average temperature for SBP and a 0.16 mm Hg(95% CI: 0.15–0.17) per 1 °C decrease in average temperature for DBP, respectively. The effects of the average temperature on both SBP and DBP were stronger in summer than in other seasons. The effects of the average temperature on BP were also greater if individuals were older, male, overweight or obese, a smoker or drinker, or had cardiovascular diseases(CVDs), hypertension, and diabetes.Conclusions This study demonstrated a significant negative association between outdoor temperature and BP in a high-altitude environment of northwest China. Moreover, BP showed a significant seasonal variation. 2Prognostic value of pre-and post-transplantation 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography results in non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients receiving autologous stem cell transplantation显示文摘Objective: High-dose chemotherapy(HDC) followed by autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT) is the standard of care in the upfront or relapsed/refractory setting in some patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL).However,a proportion of patients do not respond to ASCT.^(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG) positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT) has been widely used for staging,response evaluation,and prognosis prediction.Here,we investigated the prognostic role of PET/CT in NHL patients before and after ASCT.Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at Peking University Cancer Hospital.All NHL patients who underwent ASCT between March 2010 and July 2016 were identified.Patients who had PET/CT scan before and after ASCT were included.Deauville criteria(5-point scale) were used to interpret PET scans.Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed using Cox regression.The predictive value of PET scanning was estimated by comparing the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve.Results: In total,79 patients were enrolled in this study.In univariate analysis,pre-and post-ASCT PET result was identified as prognostic factors for 3-year progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS).Patients with negative pre-ASCT PET result demonstrated significantly better PFS(84.2% vs.54.2%) and OS(89.2% vs.63.6%) than patients with positive pre-ASCT PET result.PFS(91.6% vs.25.3%) and OS(96.5% vs.36.8%) were also significantly different between patients with negative and positive post-ASCT PET result.Multivariate analysis also showed a significant association between survival and post-ASCT PET result.ROC analysis revealed that the predictive value of post-ASCT PET result was superior to that of pre-ASCT PET result alone.Combined pre-and post-ASCT PET result is better for predicting outcomes in patients with NHL receiving transplantation.Deauville criteria score >3 was identified as the best cutoff value for post-ASCT PET.Conclusions: Post-ASCT PET result was more important than pre-ASCT PET result in predicting outcomes for NHL patients who underwent ASCT.The prognostic significance can be improved when combining preASCT PET result with post-ASCT PET result.Deauville criteria can be used for interpreting PET scans in this scenario.Zhitao Ying Lan Mi Xuejuan Wang Yuewei Zhang Zhi Yang Yuqin Song Xiaopei Wang WenZheng Ningjing Lin Meifeng Tu Yan Xie Lingyan Ping Chen Zhang Weiping Liu LijuanDeng Jun Zhu 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6:3

4Fabrication of low-resistance LaNi_xO_(3+δ) thin films for ferroelectric device electrodes显示文摘LaNiO_3 thin films with different La/Ni ratios were deposited on Si substrates by sol-gel process. The electrical resistivities of LaNi_xO_(3+δ) films with different La/Ni ratios were measured by four-probe method.LaNi_(0.95)O_(3+δ) thin film has the lowest resistivity. First-principle calculations show that LaNi_(0.95)O_(3+δ) has the largest Ni-O-Ni bond angle and the shortest Ni-O bond length, which means LaNi_(0.95)O_(3+δ) has the strongest metallic property, hence, the electrical resistivity is the lowest. Au/PZT(PbZr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48)O_3)/LaNi_xO_(3+δ) and Au/PZT/Pt ferroelectric capacitors were fabricated to evaluate LaNi_xO_(3+δ) as a bottom electrode. It is shown that fatigue properties of PZT films can be significantly improved by using LaNi_xO_(3+δ) instead of Pt as the bottom electrode. 5Prognostic value of ^(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography using Deauville criteria in diffuse large B cell lymphoma treated with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation显示文摘Objective: High-dose chemotherapy(HDC) followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(auto-HSCT) plays an important role in improving outcomes of diffuse large B cell lymphoma(DLBCL) patients.18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose(18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT) has been widely accepted in response assessment and prediction of prognosis in DLBCL. Here, we report the value of 18 FFDG PET/CT pre-and post-HSCT in predicting outcomes of patients with DLBCL.Methods: DLBCL patients who had PET/CT scan before and after HSCT were included. PET results were interpreted based upon Deauville criteria. The prognostic value of 18 F-FDG PET/CT in auto-HSCT was evaluated.Results: Eighty-four patients were enrolled. In univariate analysis, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were correlated with 3-year progression-free survival(PFS) [hazard ratio(HR)=4.391, P=0.001; HR=7.607, P<0.001] and overall survival(OS)(HR=4.792, P=0.008; HR=26.138, P<0.001). Patients receiving upfront auto-HSCT after firstline treatment had better outcomes than relapsed/refractory DLBCL patients(3-year PFS, P<0.001; 3-year OS,P<0.001). In the relapsed/refractory patients, pre-and post-HSCT PET findings were also associated with 3-year PFS(P=0.003 vs. P<0.001) and OS(P=0.027 vs. P<0.001). A significant correlation was observed between clinical response to chemotherapy before auto-HSCT and outcomes of patients in the entire cohort(3-year PFS, P<0.001;3-year OS, P<0.001) and in the subgroup of 21 patients with positive pre-HSCT PET(3-year PFS, P=0.084; 3-year OS, P=0.240). A significant association between survival and post-HSCT PET findings was observed in multivariate analysis(HR=5.168, P<0.001).Conclusions: PET results before and after HSCT are useful prognostic factors for DLBCL patients receiving HSCT. 8Comparative study on the anti-tuberculous effect and mechanism of the traditional Chinese medicines NiuBeiXiao He extract and JieHeWan显示文摘Background:The traditional Chinese medicine NiuBeiXiaoHe(NBXH)extract and Chinese medicine preparation JieHeWan(JHW)exhibit anti-tuberculosis(TB)effects.The anti-TB effect of NBXH was compared with that of JHW to elucidate the mechanism of action of NBXH.Methods:BALB/c mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into a normal control group,TB model group,JHW treatment group,and NBXH treatment group.After 3 and 13 weeks of treatment,the therapeutic effect in each group was evaluated by comparing lung histopathology,lung and liver colony counts,the number of spots representing effector T cells secreting IFN-γin an enzyme-linked immunospot assay(ELISPOT),and the levels of Th1,Th2,and Th17 cytokines,which were measured by a cytometric bead array(CBA).Mouse RNA samples were subjected to transcriptome sequencing.Results:After 13 weeks of treatment,the mean histopathological lesion area of the NBXH group was significantly smaller than that of the TB model group(P<0.05).Compared with those in the TB model group,the lung colony counts in the JHW and NBXH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the IL-2 and IL-4 levels in the NBXH group were significantly increased(P<0.05).NBXH partly restored significant changes in gene expression caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis(M.tuberculosis)infection.According to GO and KEGG analyses,the changes in biological process(BP),cell composition(CC)and molecular function(MF)terms and in signaling pathways caused by NBXH and JHW treatment were not completely consistent,but they were mainly related to the immune response and inflammatory response in the mouse TB model.Conclusions:NBXH had therapeutic effects similar to those of JHW in improving lung histopathology,reducing lung colony counts,and regulating the levels of cytokines.NBXH restored significant changes in gene expression and repaired cell damage caused by M.tuberculosis infection by regulating immune-related pathways,which clarified the mechanism of action of NBXH.Li-Yao Duan Yan Liang Wen-Ping Gong Yong Xue Jie Mi Jie Wang Lan Wang Zai-Xing Jia Hong Lei Yu-Mei Liang Jun Liu Yue Zheng Xue-Qiong Wu 2022Military Medical Research2022,9,2:1
9Karyotypic analysis of intersexuality in Chinese from Taiyuan显示文摘Aim: To analyze the kayrotypic patterns of 33 cases of intersexuality in Chinese from Talyuan, China in order to further clarify its mechanism of development and the interrelationship between karyotype and phenotypic sex. Methods: High-resolution GTG-banding chromosome technique was used to analyze the karyotype patterns. Results: In these patients, 57.58% were male pseudohermaphrodites (46,XY), 18.18%, female pseudohermaphrodites (46, XX), 12.12%, true hemaphrodites, and 12.12%, other karyotypes. Although testes can be seen in 88.8% of karyotypes with Y chromosome, 73.68% of the patients were of female social sex. In 42.82% of patients the social sex is in conformity with their karyotypes. There were 2 cases of male pseudohermaphrodites, where the sex chromosome was normal, but abnormalities were found in chromosomes 9, 13, or 14. 10All-optical attosecond time domain interferometry显示文摘Interferometry,a key technique in modern precision measurements,has been used for length measurement in engineering metrology and astronomy.An analogous time-domain interferometric technique would represent a significant complement to spatial domain applications and require the manipulation of interference on extreme time and energy scales.Here,we report an all-optical interferometer using laser-driven high order harmonics as attosecond temporal slits.By controlling the phase of the temporal slits with an external field,a time domain interferometer that preserves both attosecond temporal resolution and hundreds of me V energy resolution is implemented.We apply this exceptional temporal resolution to reconstruct the waveform of an arbitrarily polarized optical pulse,and utilize the provided energy resolution to interrogate the abnormal character of the transition dipole near the Cooper minimum in argon.This novel attosecond interferometry paves the way for high precision measurements in the time-energy domain using all-optical approaches.Zhen Yang Wei Cao Yunlong Mo Huiyao Xu Kang Mi Pengfei Lan Qingbin Zhang Peixiang Lu 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:1
11Application of Factor Analysis in Sensory Evaluation of Tobacco Raw Materials显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to analyze the main sensory quality indexes of reconstituted tobacco materials. [Method] The factor analysis was performed to analyze sensory quality of reconstituted tobacco raw materials. [Result]The results showed that the contribution rate was 87. 791% and four factors were obtained via factor analysis. The factor loading of factor 1( aroma quality,aroma amount,offensive odor,after-taste) was relatively large. Factor 2 was the exterior factor. Factor 3 was momentum factor. Factor 4 was the concentration factor. The comprehensive scores of samples from different regions demonstrated a descending order of Hubei,Yuxi,Chuxiong,Honghe,Dali,Kunming,Hunan,Henan,Fujian,Qujing,Baoshan,Guizhou,Zhaotong,Chongqing,Puer,Wenshan,Guangdong,and Jiangxi. 14Genetic abnormalities assist in pathological diagnosis and EBVpositive cell density impact survival in Chinese angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma patients显示文摘Objective:To explore the application of genetic abnormalities in the diagnosis of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AITL)and the reliable pathological prognostic factors.Methods:This study included 53 AITL cases,which were reviewed for morphological patterns,immunophenotypes,presence of Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg(HRS)-like cells,and co-occurrence of B cell proliferation.The Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)-positive cells in tissues were counted,and cases were classified into“EBV encoded RNA(EBER)high-density”group if>50/HPF.Targeted exome sequencing was performed.Results:Mutation data can assist AITL diagnosis:1)with considerable HRS-like cells(20 cases):RHOA mutated in 14 cases(IDH2 co-mutated in 3 cases,4 cases with rare RHOA mutation),TET2 was mutated in 5 cases(1 case comutated with DNMT3A),and DNMT3A mutated in 1 case;2)accompanied with B cell lymphoma(7 cases):RHOA mutated in 4 cases(1 case had IDH2 mutation),TET2 mutated in 2 cases and DNMT3A mutated in 1 case;3)mimic peripheral T cell lymphoma,not otherwise specified(5 cases):RHOA mutated in 2 cases(IDH2 co-mutated in 1 case),TET2 mutated in 3 cases,and DNMT3A mutated in 1 case;4)pattern 1(1 case),RHOA and TET2 co-mutated.Besides RHOAG17V(30/35),rare variant included RHOAK18N,RHOAR68H,RHOAC83Y,RHOAD120G and RHOAG17del,IDH2R172 co-mutated with IDH2M397V in one case.There were recurrent mutations of FAT3,PCLO and PIEZO1 and genes of epigenetic remodeling,T-cell activation,APC and PI3K/AKT pathway.EBER high-density independently indicated adverse overall survival and progression-free survival(P=0.046 and P=0.008,KaplanMeier/log-rank).Conclusions:Over half AITL cases might be confused in diagnosis for certain conditions without mutation data.Targeted exome sequencing with a comprehensive panel is crucial to detect both hot-spot and rare mutation variants for RHOA and IDH2 and other recurrent mutated genes in addition to TET2 and DNMT3A.EBER highdensity independently indicated adverse survival.Yunfei Shi Haojie Wang Yanfei Liu Mengping Long Ning Ding Lan Mi Yumei Lai Lixin Zhou Xinting Diao Xianghong Li Weiping Liu Jun Zhu 2023Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,5:0
15Lateral root elongation in maize is related to auxin synthesis and transportation mediated by N metabolism under a mixed NO_(3)^(–) and NH_(4)^(+) supply显示文摘A mixed nitrate (NO_(3)^(–)) and ammonium (NH_(4)^(+)) supply can promote root growth in maize (Zea mays),however,the changes in root morphology and the related physiological mechanism under different N forms are still unclear.Here,maize seedlings were grown hydroponically with three N supplied in three different forms (NO_(3)^(–)only,75/25 NO_(3)^(–)/NH_(4)^(+)and NH_(4)^(+)only).Compared with sole NO_(3)^(–)or NH_(4)^(+),the mixed N supply increased the total root length of maize but did not affect the number of axial roots.The main reason was the increased total lateral root length,while the average lateral root (LR) length in each axle was only slightly increased.In addition,the average LR density of 2nd whorl crown root under mixed N was also increased.Compared with sole nitrate,mixed N could improve the N metabolism of roots (such as the N influx rate,nitrate reductase (NR) and glutamine synthase (GS)enzyme activities and total amino content of the roots).Experiments with exogenously added NR and GS inhibitors suggested that the increase in the average LR length under mixed N was related to the process of N assimilation,and whether the NR mediated NO synthesis participates in this process needs further exploration.Meanwhile,an investigation of the changes in root-shoot ratio and carbon (C) concentration showed that C transportation from shoots to roots may not be the key factor in mediating lateral root elongation,and the changes in the sugar concentration in roots further proved this conclusion.Furthermore,the synthesis and transportation of auxin in axial roots may play a key role in lateral root elongation,in which the expression of ZmPIN1B and ZmPIN9 may be involved in this pathway.This study preliminarily clarified the changes in root morphology and explored the possible physiological mechanism under a mixed N supply in maize,which may provide some theoretical basis for the cultivation of crop varieties with high N efficiency.Peng Wang Lan Yang Xichao Sun Wenjun Shi Rui Dong Yuanhua Wu Guohua Mi 2024Journal of Integrative Agriculture2024,23,3:0

17AgInS_(2)/ZnS quantum dots for noninvasive cervical cancer screening with intracellular pH sensing using fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy显示文摘Intracellular pH plays a critical role in biological functions,and abnormal pH values are related to various diseases.Here,we report on an intracellular pH sensor AgInS_(2)(AIS)/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)that show long fluorescence lifetimes of hundreds of nanoseconds and low toxicity.Fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy(FLIM)combined with AIS/ZnS QDs is used for the imaging of live cells in different pH buffers and different cell lines.The FLIM images of AIS/ZnS QDs in live cells demonstrate different intracellular pH values in different regions,such as in lysosomes or cytoplasm.This method can also distinguish cancer cells from normal cells,and the fluorescence lifetime difference of the AIS/ZnS QDs between the two types of cells is 100±7 ns.Most importantly,the exfoliated cervical cells from 20 patients are investigated using FLIM combined with AIS/ZnS QDs.The lifetime difference value between the normal and cervical cancer(CC)groups is 115±9 ns,and the difference between the normal and the precancerous lesion group is 64±9 ns.For the first time,the noninvasive method has been used for cervical cancer screening,and it has shown great improvement in sensitivity compared with a clinical conventional cytology examination.Wenhua Su Dan Yang Yulan Wang Yawei Kong Wanlu Zhang Jing Wang Yiyan Fei Ruiqian Guo Jiong Ma Lan Mi 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:0
18Detecting benign uterine tumors by autofuorescence lifetime imaging microscopy through adjacent healthy cervical tissues显示文摘The endogenous fluorophores such as reduced nicotinarmide adenine dinucleotide(phosphate)(NAD(P)H)and favin adenine dinucleotide(FAD)in cells and tissues can be imaged by fuo-rescence lifetime imaging microscopy(FLIM)to show the tisute morphology features,as well as the biomolecular changes in microenvironment.The two important coenzymes in cellular metabolism,NAD(P)H and FAD,can be used to monitor the cellular metabolic status.This work proposed a novel method to study the uterine metabolism at the adjacent site of healthy cervix.It was found that the benign uterine tumors such as leiomyomas and adenomyosis with abnormal cell growth can be detected by measuring the fluorescence lifetime of NAD(P)H and FAD in adjacent healthy cervical tisues.This method opened a novel strategy for alicted women to undergo the cervical biopsies instead of hysterectomies for detecting tumors,which can preserve the fertility of patients.The FLIM studying on NAD(P)H and FAD indicated the correlation between metabolism and some diseases,including diabetes,hyperthyroidism and obesity.It was also suggested that the metabolic level might be quite different for a patient with a malignant tumnor history.Maojia Huang Zixiao Zhang Xinyi Wang Yonghui Xie Yiyan Fei Jiong Ma Jing Wang Li Chen Lan Mi Yulan Wang 2019Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2019,,5:0
19Collaborative deep learning across multiple data centers显示文摘Valuable training data is often owned by independent organizations and located in multiple data centers.Most deep learning approaches require to centralize the multi-datacenter data for performance purpose.In practice,however,it is often infeasible to transfer all data of different organizations to a centralized data center owing to the constraints of privacy regulations.It is very challenging to conduct the geo-distributed deep learning among data centers without the privacy leaks.Model averaging is a conventional choice for data parallelized training and can reduce the risk of privacy leaks,but its ineffectiveness is claimed by previous studies as deep neural networks are often non-convex.In this paper,we argue that model averaging can be effective in the decentralized environment by using two strategies,namely,the cyclical learning rate(CLR)and the increased number of epochs for local model training.With the two strategies,we show that model averaging can provide competitive performance in the decentralized mode compared to the data-centralized one.In a practical environment with multiple data centers,we conduct extensive experiments using state-of-the-art deep network architectures on different types of data.Results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.Haibo MI Kele XU Dawei FENG Huaimin WANG Yiming ZHANG Zibin ZHENG Chuan CHEN Xu LAN 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,8:0
20The Incidence of Lymphoma in Beijing:Comparing Results from MIS-CASS(2019)and Beijing Cancer Registry(2017)显示文摘Introduction:This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the Medical-Insurance-System-based Cancer Surveillance System(MIS-CASS)in estimating cancer incidence by comparing the results with the Beijing Cancer Registry(BCR),which is one of the highest-quality population-based cancer registries in China.Methods:Using lymphoma as an example,we extracted relevant claims data from the administrative systems of medical insurance in Beijing(2012–2020)and estimated the most current lymphoma incidence in Beijing(2019)using a standard data processing procedure.The absolute number of new cases,crude incidence rate,and age-standardized incidence rate of lymphoma were compared with the latest data reported by the BCR(2017).Results:Both lymphoma incidence rates and age distribution of new cases estimated based on MISCASS were similar to the BCR data(crude incidence rate:9.8/100,000 vs.10.6/100,000).However,because MIS-CASS included more designated hospitals and covered a larger local stationary population irrespective of household registration(hukou),the absolute number of incident lymphoma cases identified by MIS-CASS was 39.1%higher than that reported by the BCR(2,002 vs.1,439).Conclusions:The MIS-CASS approach reflected the actual cancer burden in a more complete and timely manner as compared with the current BCR,providing new insights for improving cancer surveillance strategies in China.Hongrui Tian Weiping Liu Yuqin Song Lan Mi Zhen Liu Mengfei Liu Chuanhai Guo Fangfang Liu Ying Liu Yaqi Pan Jun Zhu Zhonghu He Yang Ke 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,52:0
