The dynamic model and the numerical simulation method of vibrating-sliding-uplift rocking coupled motion of caisson breakwaters are developed. The histories of displacement, rotation, sliding force and overturning moment of a caisson breakwater under the excitation of breaking wave impact are calculated for the motion models of vibrating, vibrating-sliding, vibrating-uplift rocking and vibrating-sliding-uplift rocking. The effects of various motion models on the stability of caisson breakwaters are investigated. | 4 | A novel strategy for cancer treatment:Targeting cancer stem cells显示文摘Cancer stem cell/tumor-initiating cell (CSC/TIC) is a subclass of cancer cells possessing parts of properties of normal stem cell. It has a high capacity of proliferation and plays a pivotal role in tumor recurrence and tumor resistance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. At present, small molecule in-hibitors and fusion proteins are widely used in the CSC-targeting strategy. Gene-virotherapy, which uses oncolytic adenovirus as a vector to mediate the expression of therapeutic gene, shows a signifi-cant superiority to other regimens of cancer treatment and has a good efficacy in the treatment of solid tumors. Thus, it is a promising choice to apply gene-virotherapy into the CSC-targeting treatment. Based on the molecular mechanism underlying CSC self-renewal, a series of effective strategies for targeting CSC have been established. | 5 | Gene duplication drove the loss of awn in sorghum.显示文摘Loss of the awn in some cereals including sorghum is a key transition during cereal domestication or improvement that has facilitated grain harvest and storage.The genetic basis for the loss of awn in sorghum during domestication or improvement remains unknown.Here,we identified a transcription factor gene awn1 encoding an ALOG domain,which is responsible for awn loss during sorghum domestication or improvement.awn1 arose from a gene duplication from chromosome 10 that translocated to chromosome 3,recruiting a new promoter from the neighbouring intergenic region filled with'noncoding DNA',and recreating the first exon and intron.The awn1 acquires high expr`ession after duplication and represses the elongation of awns in domesticated sorghum.Comparative mapping revealed a high collinearity at awn1 paralog locus on chromosome 10 across cereals and awn growth and development was successfully reactivated on the rice spikelet by inactivating rice awn1 orthologue.Further RNA-seq and DAP-seq revealed that as a transcription repressor,AWN1 directly bound to the motif in the regulatory regions from three MADS genes related to flower development and two genes DL and LKS2 for the development of awn,downregulated the expressions of these genes,and then repressed the elongation of awn.The preexistence of regulatory elements in the neighbouring intergenic region of awn1 before domestication signified that noncoding DNA may serve as a treasure trove for evolution during adaptation to a changing world.Our results supported that gene duplication can promptly drive the evolution of gene regulatory network. | Leina Zhou Can Zhu Xiaojian Fang Hangqin Liu Shuyang Zhong Yan Li Jiacheng Liu Yang Song Xing Jian Zhongwei Lin | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,11: | 2 |

| 12 | 具有细支气管肺泡癌特征肺腺癌与其他类型腺癌的对比分析(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinicopathologic and prognostic factors of the partial subtypes of lung adenocarcinoma, including pure bronchioloalveolar carcinoma (BAC), adenocarcinoma (AC) with BAC component and AC without BAC component. Methods: One hundred and six adenocarcinoma specimens which were followed up completely for 3 years, were obtained from 106 patients (45 men and 61 women) who underwent surgical resection for pathologically confirmed pulmonary adenocarcinoma in the Cancer Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, from June 2004 to December 2005. According to the recent 2004 World Health Organization (WHO) pathological classification criteria of lung cancer, lung adenocarcinomas were divided into three subgroups: pure BAC, AC with BAC component and AC without BAC component. The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed based on statistical methods. All data were analyzed using SPSS statistics software and Kaplan-Meier survival curves were constructed, meanwhile, we conducted a Log-rank test. Results: The statistical analysis showed that no significant association was found among the three groups in gender and age; however, smoke index, tumor size, N stage, TNM stage, postoperative recurrence and metastasis had a statistically significant correlation among three groups (P < 0.01). The 3-year survival rates of the three groups were 96.4%, 61.0% and 40.5% respectively, which had a statistically significant difference. And the 3-year survival rate was significantly higher in the patients with pure BAC than in the patients with other types of lung adenocarcinomas (P < 0.01). In contrast to the other two groups (pure BAC and AC with BAC component), we found the evidence that the 3-year prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma without BAC component was worse than the two formers. Conclusion: The three groups (pure BAC, AC with BAC component and AC without BAC component) have their own distinct clinicopathologic features respectively and completely different clinical prognosis. | 13 | 肺腺癌神经内分泌分化的临床意义(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of our study was to investigate the prevalence and clinical relevance of neuroendocrine(NE) differentiation in lung adenocarcinoma.Methods:Eighty-six adenocarcinoma paraffin-embedded specimens and cases which were followed up completely for 3 years,were obtained from 86 patients(35 men and 51 women) who underwent surgical resection for pathologically supported adenocarcinoma in the Cancer Hospital of Tianjin Medical University,from June 2005 to December 2006.Immunohistochemical EnVision two-step method was used to detect the expression of neuron-specific enolase(NSE),synaptophysin(SYN) and chromogranin A(CGA).All data were analyzed using SPSS statistics software and Kaplan-Meier survival curves were constructed,meanwhile,we conducted a Log-rank test.Results:All patients with lung adenocarcinoma,35 cases with NE differentiation(40.7%).The statistical analysis showed that the positive rate of NE differentiation in lung adenocarcinoma was significantly associated with cancer recurrence and histological differentiation.In addition,CGA,NSE and SYN positive rates were 27.9%,50.0%,43.0%,respectively.A statistically significant difference was found between positive expression of SYN and other clinicopathological parameters,such as pathological type,histological differentiation,lymph node metastasis,postoperative recurrence and 3-year survival rate(P = 0.001) and so on.Conclusion:NE differentiation can be used as a metastatic potentially indicator of biological behavior of lung adenocarcinoma,and combined detection of NSE and SYN markers may be recommended to examine NE differentiation of lung adenocarcinoma.Positive expression of SYN indicates poor prognosis. | Yuanhuan Dong Leina Sun Baocun Sun Dongxiang Yu Zhongli Zhan | 2012 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2012,11,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Antioxidant and anti-diabetic activities in commercial and homemade pomegranate molasses in Lebanon显示文摘Pomegranate fruit and its derived products are rich sources of bioactive compounds.They have many biological activities.Pomegranate molasses(PM)is a thick,traditional Middle Eastern syrup used in many recipes for Lebanese and international cuisines.It is a highly nutritious product which makes it of great interest.The purpose of this study was to assess the phytochemical composition,antioxidant and anti-diabetic properties of homemade and commercial PM consumed in Lebanon using samples collected from households in rural areas(n=4)and the market(n=28).The objectives of this study were to determine their total phenolic content using the Follin-Ciocalteu method,their total flavonoid content using aluminum chloride method,their antioxidant activity using DPPH radical scavenging as well as ferrous ion chelating assays and their anti-diabetic activity usingα-amylase andα-glucosidase inhibitory activities with acarbose,a known anti-diabetic drug,used as the standard reference.Homemade PM samples exhibited a higher antioxidant activity than commercial samples,with the most active homemade PM sample having IC_(50)values of 0.09 mg/mL(DPPH radical scavenging assay)and 46.78%ferrous ion chelating assay).Homemade PM samples also showed higher anti-diabetic activity than commercial samples,with the most active homemade PM sample having an IC_(50)values of 0.63 mg/mL(α-amylase inhibitory activity)and of 0.41 mg/mL(α-glucosidase inhibitory activity)and being almost as active as acarbose with both enzymes(1.5 times).Significant inverse strong/moderate correlations were observed between total phenolic content/total flavonoid content and the IC_(50)value of DPPH radical scavenging assay,indicating positive associations between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity.In addition,significant negative moderate correlations were observed between total phenolic/flavonoid contents andα-amylase inhibitory activity,indicating positive associations between total phenolic and flavonoid contents and anti-diabetic activity. | Mira Bou Dargham Jocelyne Matar Boumosleh Antoine Farhat Salwa Abdelkhalek Elias Bou-Maroun Leina El Hosry | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,46,2: | 0 |
