| 1 | Moving object detection in aerial video based on spatiotemporal saliency显示文摘In this paper,the problem of moving object detection in aerial video is addressed.While motion cues have been extensively exploited in the literature,how to use spatial information is still an open problem.To deal with this issue,we propose a novel hierarchical moving target detection method based on spatiotemporal saliency.Temporal saliency is used to get a coarse segmentation,and spatial saliency is extracted to obtain the object's appearance details in candidate motion regions.Finally,by combining temporal and spatial saliency information,we can get refned detection results.Additionally,in order to give a full description of the object distribution,spatial saliency is detected in both pixel and region levels based on local contrast.Experiments conducted on the VIVID dataset show that the proposed method is effcient and accurate. | Shen Hao Li Shuxiao Zhu Chengfei Chang Hongxing Zhang Jinglan | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,5: | 18 |
| 2 | Response surface modeling-based source contribution analysis and VOC emission control policy assessment in a typical ozone-polluted urban Shunde,China显示文摘To develop a sound ozone(O_3) pollution control strategy,it is important to well understand and characterize the source contribution due to the complex chemical and physical formation processes of O_3.Using the 'Shunde' city as a pilot summer case study,we apply an innovative response surface modeling(RSM) methodology based on the Community Multi-Scale Air Quality(CMAQ) modeling simulations to identify the O_3 regime and provide dynamic analysis of the precursor contributions to effectively assess the O_3 impacts of volatile organic compound(VOC) control strategy.Our results show that Shunde is a typical VOC-limited urban O_3 polluted city.The 'Jiangmen' city,as the main upper wind area during July 2014,its VOCs and nitrogen oxides(NO_x) emissions make up the largest contribution(9.06%).On the contrary,the contribution from local(Shunde) emission is lowest(6.35%) among the seven neighbor regions.The local VOCs industrial source emission has the largest contribution comparing to other precursor emission sectors in Shunde.The results of dynamic source contribution analysis further show that the local NO_x control could slightly increase the ground O_3 under low(10.00%) and medium(40.00%)reduction ratios,while it could start to turn positive to decrease ground O_3 under the high NO_x abatement ratio(75.00%).The real-time assessment of O_3 impacts from VOCs control strategies in Pearl River Delta(PRD) shows that the joint regional VOCs emission control policy will effectively reduce the ground O_3 concentration in Shunde. | Zhiqiang You Yun Zhu Carey Jang Shuxiao Wang Jian Gao Che-Jen Lin Minhui Li Zhenghua Zhu Hao Wei Wenwei Yang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1: | 7 |
| 3 | Nonlinear Random Motion Analysis of Coupled Heave-Pitch Motions of a Spar Platform Considering lst-Order and 2nd-Order Wave Loads显示文摘In this study, the coupled heave-pitch motion equations of a spar platform were established by considering 1st-order and 2nd-order random wave loads and the effects of time-varying displacement volume and transient wave elevation. We generated random wave loads based on frequency-domain wave load transfer functions and the Joint North Sea Wave Project(JONSWAP) wave spectrum, designed program codes to solve the motion equations, and then simulated the coupled heave-pitch motion responses of the platform in the time domain. We then calculated and compared the motion responses in different sea conditions and separately investigated the effects of 2nd-order random wave loads and transient wave elevation. The results show that the coupled heave-pitch motion responses of the platform are primarily dominated by wave height and the characteristic wave period, the latter of which has a greater impact. 2nd-order mean wave loads mainly affect the average heave value. The platform's pitch increases after the 2nd-order low frequency wave loads are taken into account. | 4 | Mercury flows in large-scale gold production and implications for Hg pollution control显示文摘Large-scale gold production(LSGP) is one of the five convention-related atmospheric mercury(Hg) emission sources in the Minamata Convention on Mercury. However, field experiments on Hg flows of the whole process of LSGP are limited. To identify the atmospheric Hg emission points and understand Hg emission characteristics of LSGP, Hg flows in two gold smelters were studied. Overall atmospheric Hg emissions accounted for 10%–17% of total Hg outputs and the Hg emission factors for all processes were 7.6–9.6 kg/ton. There were three dominant atmospheric Hg emission points in the studied gold smelters, including the exhaust gas of the roasting process, exhaust gas from the environmental fog collection stack and exhaust gas from the converter of the refining process. Atmospheric Hg emissions from the roasting process only accounted for 16%–29% of total emissions and the rest were emitted from the refining process. The overall Hg speciation profile(gaseous elemental Hg/gaseous oxidized Hg/particulate-bound Hg) for LSGP was 34.1/57.1/8.8. The dominant Hg output byproducts included waste acid, sulfuric acid and cyanide leaching residue. Total Hg outputs from these three byproducts were 80% in smelter A and 84% in smelter B. Our study indicated that previous atmospheric Hg emissions from large-scale gold production might have been overestimated.Hg emission control in LSGP is not especially urgent in China compared to other significant emission sources(e.g., cement plants). | 6 | Effect of current emission abatement strategies on air quality improvement in China:A case study of Baotou,a typical industrial city in Inner Mongolia显示文摘The national Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan required significant decreases in PM_(2.5) levels over China.To explore more effective emission abatement strategies in industrial cities,a case study was conducted in Baotou to evaluate the current national control measures.The total emissions of SO_2,NO_X,PM_(2.5) and NMVOC(non-methane volatile organic compounds) in Baotou were 211.2 Gg,156.1 Gg,28.8 Gg,and 48.5 Gg,respectively in 2013,and they would experience a reduction of 30.4%,26.6%,15.1%,and 8.7%,respectively in 2017 and 39.0%,32.0%,24.4%,and 12.9%,respectively in2020.The SO_2,NO_Xand PM_(2.5) emissions from the industrial sector would experience a greater decrease,with reductions of 37%,32.7 and 24.3%,respectively.From 2013 to 2020,the concentrations of SO_2,NO_2,and PM_(2.5) are expected to decline by approximately 30%,10% and 14.5%,respectively.The reduction rate of SNA(sulfate,nitrate and ammonium)concentrations was significantly higher than that of PM_(2.5) in 2017,implying that the current key strategy toward controlling air pollutants from the industrial sector is more powerful for SNA.Although air pollution control measures implemented in the industrial sector could greatly reduce total emissions,constraining the emissions from lower sources such as residential coal combustion would be more effective in decreasing the concentration of PM_(2.5) from 2017 to 2020.These results suggest that even for a typical industrial city,the reduction of PM_(2.5) concentrations not only requires decreases in emissions from the industrial sector,but also from the low emission sources.The seasonal variation in sulfate concentration also showed that emission from coal-burning is the key factor to control during the heating season. | Xionghui Qiu Lei Duan Siyi Cai Qian Yu Shuxiao Wang Fahe Chai Jian Gao Yanping Li Zhaoming Xu | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7: | 2 |
| 7 | Heave-Roll-Pitch Coupled Nonlinear Internal Resonance Response of a Spar Platform Considering Wave and Vortex Exciting Loads显示文摘Many studies have been done on the heave-pitch unstable coupling response for a spar platform by a 2-DOF model.In fact,in addition to the heave and pitch which are in one plane,the nonlinear unstable motion will also occur in roll.From the results of the experiments,the unstable roll motion plays a dominant role in the motion of a spar platform which is much stronger than that of pitch.The objective of this paper is to study 3-DOF coupling response performance of spar platform under wave and vortex-induced force.The nonlinear coupled equations in heave,roll and pitch are established by considering time-varying wet surface and coupling.The first order steady-state response is solved by multi-scales method when the incident wave frequency approaches the heave natural frequency.Numerical integration of the motion equations has been performed to verify the first-order perturbation solution.The results are confirmed by model test.There is a saturation phenomenon associated with heave mode in 3-DOF systems and all extra energy is transferred to roll and pitch.It is observed that sub-harmonic response occurs in roll and pitch when the wave force exceeds a certain value.The energy distribution in roll and pitch is determined by the initial value and damping characteristics of roll and pitch.The energy transfers from heave to pitch and then transfers from pitch to roll.Due to the influence of the low-frequency vortex-excited force,the response of roll is more complicated than that of pitch. | LI Wei TANG Yougang LIU Liqin LIU Shuxiao CAI Runbo | 2017 | Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,2: | 2 |
