| 1 | Xiba Granitic Pluton in the Qinling Orogenic Belt, Central China: Its Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications显示文摘Xiba granitic pluton is located in South Qinling tectonic domain of the Qinling orogenic belt and consists mainly of granodiorite and monzogranite with significant number of microgranular quartz dioritic enclaves. SHRIMP zircon U-Pb isotopic dating reveals that the quartz dioritic enclaves formed at 214±3 Ma, which is similar to the age of their host monzogranite (218±1 Ma). The granitoids belong to high-K calc-alkaline series, and are characterized by enriched LILEs relative to HFSEs with negative Nb, Ta and Ti anomalies, and right-declined REE patterns with (La/Yb) N ratios ranging from 15.83 to 26.47 and δEu values from 0.78 to 1.22 (mean= 0.97). Most of these samples from Xiba granitic pluton exhibit εNd(t) values of 8.79 to 5.38, depleted mantle Nd model ages (T DM ) between 1.1 Ga and 1.7 Ga, and initial Sr isotopic ratios ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i from 0.7061 to 0.7082, indicating a possible Meso-to Paleoproterozoic lower crust source region, with exception of samples XB01-2-1 and XB10-1 displaying higher ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i values of 0.779 and 0.735, respectively, which suggests a contamination of the upper crustal materials. Quartz dioritic enclaves are interpreted as the result of rapid crystallization fractionation during the parent magmatic emplacement, as evidenced by similar age, texture, geochemical, and Sr-Nd isotopic features with their host rocks. Characteristics of the petrological and geochemical data reveal that the parent magma of Xiba granitoids was produced by a magma mingling process. The upwelling asthenosphere caused a high heat flow and the mafic magma was underplated into the bottom of the lower continent crust, which caused the partial melting of the lower continent crustal materials. This geodynamic process generated the mixing parent magma between mafic magma from depleted mantle and felsic magma derived from the lower continent crust. | 9 | Improving the WRF/urban modeling system in China by developing a national urban dataset显示文摘Accurate modeling of urban climate is essential to predict potential environmental risks in cities.Urban datasets,such as urban land use and urban canopy parameters(UCPs),are key input data for urban climate models and largely affect their performance.However,access to reliable urban datasets is a challenge,especially in fast urbanizing countries.In this study,we developed a high-resolution national urban dataset in China(NUDC)for the WRF/urban modeling system and evaluated its effect on urban climate modeling.Specifically,an optimization method based on building morphology was proposed to classify urban land use types.The key UCPs,including building height and width,street width,surface imperviousness,and anthropogenic heat flux,were calculated for both single-layer Urban Canopy Model(UCM)and multiple-layer Building Energy Parameterization(BEP).The results show that the derived morphological-based urban land use classification could better reflect the urban characteristics,compared to the socioeconomic-function-based classification.The UCPs varied largely in spatial within and across the cities.The integration of the developed urban land use and UCPs datasets significantly improved the representation of urban canopy characteristics,contributing to a more accurate modeling of near-surface air temperature,humidity,and wind in urban areas.The UCM performed better in the modeling of air temperature and humidity,while the BEP performed better in the modeling of wind speed.The newly developed NUDC can advance the study of urban climate and improve the prediction of potential urban environmental risks in China. | Huidong Li Fenghui Yuan Lidu Shen Yage Liu Zhonghua Zheng Xu Zhou | 2022 | Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,4: | 0 |

| 14 | Fine-tuning Bacterial Cyclic di-AMP Production for Durable Antitumor Effects Through the Activation of the STING Pathway显示文摘The stimulator of interferon genes(STING)protein is an important and promising innate immune target for tumor therapy.However,the instability of the agonists of STING and their tendency to cause systemic immune activation is a hurdle.The STING activator,cyclic di-adenosine monophosphate(CDA),produced by the modified Escherichia coli Nissle 1917,shows high antitumor activity and effectively reduces the systemic effects of the“off-target”caused by the activation of the STING pathway.In this study,we used synthetic biological approaches to optimize the translation levels of the diadenylate cyclase that catalyzes CDA synthesis in vitro.We developed 2 engineered strains,CIBT4523 and CIBT4712,for producing high levels of CDA while keeping their concentrations within a range that did not compromise the growth.Although CIBT4712 exhibited stronger induction of the STING pathway corresponding to in vitro CDA levels,it had lower antitumor activity than CIBT4523 in an allograft tumor model,which might be related to the stability of the surviving bacteria in the tumor tissue.CIBT4523 exhibited complete tumor regression,prolonged survival of mice,and rejection of rechallenged tumors,thus,offering new possibilities for more effective tumor therapy.We showed that the appropriate production of CDA in engineered bacterial strains is essential for balancing antitumor efficacy and self-toxicity. | Yu Jiang Xiyuan Li Fenghui Qian Bingbing Sun Xiyuan Wang Yan Zhang Deqiang Zhang Meiyu Geng Zuoquan Xie Sheng Yang | 2023 | Research2023,,4: | 0 |

| 17 | Mechanical Stress Induces Neuroendocrine and Immune Responses of Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus)显示文摘Grading procedure in routine sea cucumber hatchery production is thought to affect juvenile sea cucumber immunological response. The present study investigated the impact of a 3-min mechanical perturbation mimicking the grading procedure on neuroendocrine and immune parameters of the sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus. During the application of stress, concentrations of noradrenaline and dopamine in coelomic fluid increased significantly, indicating that the mechanical perturbation resulted in a transient state of stress in sea cucumbers. Coelomocytes concentration in coelomic fluid increased transiently after the beginning of stressing, and reached the maximum in 1 h. Whereas, coelomocytes phagocytosis at 3 min, superoxide anion production from 3 min to 0.5 h, acid phosphatase activity at 0.5 h, and phenoloxidase activity from 3 min to 0.5 h were all significantly down-regulated. All of the immune parameters recovered to baseline levels after the experiment was conducted for 8 h, and an immunostimulation occurred after the stress considering the phagocytosis and acid phosphatase activity. The results suggested that, as in other marine invertebrates, neuroendocrine/immune connections exist in sea cucumber A. japonicus. Mechanical stress can elicit a profound influence on sea cucumber neuroendocrine system. Neuroendocrine messengers act in turn to modulate the immunity functions.
