| 1 | miR-145 improves metabolic inflammatory disease through multiple pathways显示文摘Chronic inflammation plays a pivotal role in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes,yet the mechanisms are not completely understood.Here,we demonstrated that serum LPS levels were significantly higher in newly diagnosed diabetic patients than in normal control.miR-145 level in peripheral blood mononuclear cells decreased in type 2 diabetics.LPS repressed the transcription of miR-143/145 cluster and decreased miR-145 levels.Attenuation of miR-145 activity by anti-miR-145 triggered liver inflammation and increased serum chemokines in C57BL/6 J mice.Conversely,lentivirus-mediated miR-145 overexpression inhibited macrophage infiltration,reduced body weight,and improved glucose metabolism in db/db mice.And miR-145 overexpression markedly reduced plaque size in the aorta in ApoE−/−mice.Both OPG and KLF5 were targets of miR-145.miR-145 repressed cell proliferation and induced apoptosis partially by targeting OPG and KLF5.miR-145 also suppressed NF-κB activation by targeting OPG and KLF5.Our findings provide an association of the environment with the progress of metabolic disorders.Increasing miR-145 may be a new potential therapeutic strategy in preventing and treating metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis. | Min He Nan Wu Man Cheong Leong Weiwei Zhang Zi Ye Rumei Li Jinyang Huang Zhaoyun Zhang Lianxi Li Xiao Yao Wenbai Zhou Naijia Liu Zhihong Yang Xuehong Dong Yintao Li Lili Chen Qin Li Xuanchun Wang Jie Wen Xiaolong Zhao Bin Lu Yehong Yang Qinghua Wang Renming Hu | 2020 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,2: | 7 |

| 3 | Curing Reaction Kinetics of Epoxy Resin Using Dicyandiamide Modified by Aromatic Amines显示文摘The curing reaction and reaction mechanism of epoxy resin E-44, for which aromatic amine modified dicyandiamide was used as a curing reagent, were investigated by means of differen-tial scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results showed that the modified dicyandiamide had better curing characteristic than un-modified dicyandiamide for epoxy resin E-44, and the curing reac-tion could be carried out at moderate temperature. Apparent acti-vation energy of the curing reaction was decreased appreciably from 123.829 kJ/mol to 61.550-64.405 kJ/mol, and reaction order was decreased from 0.941 to 0.896-0.900. | 4 | Measurement and Scaling of Mercury on Soil and Air in a Historical Artisanal Gold Mining Area in Northeastern China显示文摘The Jiapigou gold mine area, located in the upper reaches of the Songhua River, was the first and largest artisanal gold mine once in China, and it used to be prominent in two marking years(1870 and 1974). Jiapigou area had a gold mining history of more than 190 years, which was first opened in 1820. Gold extraction with algamation was applied as the dominant method of excavation from 1940 to 2008, and a total of more than 100 t of gold were extracted from the mine using this method and it was estimated that 100–200 t Hg were released, thus causing severe mercury environmental pollution in the mining area. In the experimental campaigns of this study, in situ air and soil Hg concentrations and air-soil Hg fluxes were measured from April 2009 to December 2011. The results showed that in the study area the total gaseous mercury(TGM) concentration exhibited remarkable spatial and temporal distribution patterns, i.e. the TGM gradually decreased following the increase in distance to gold mining sites in space, and the values in spring, summer and autumn were elevated by 1–2 orders of magnitude in comparison with those in winter. Furthermore, at other sampling sites the total soil mercury(TSM) concentration in spring was higher than that in autumn, except for the contrary laws demonstrated at the Erdaogou mining site. However, in spring and winter the Hg flux between air and soil was under the control of different environmental factors, and the characteristics were clear and distinct. In spring the Hg flux between air and soil was directly under the control of solar irradiation, and the releasing process was predominant with a remarkable positive correlation to solar irradiation. Nevertheless, in winter the Hg fluxes were indirectly under the control of solar irradiation, which caused thermal inversion due to the thick snow cover. | 5 | Foraging areas of Rousettus leschenaulti on the Hainan Island of China显示文摘We investigated the foraging area of three individuals (1 female and 2 males) of Rousettus leschenaulti (Chiroptera,Pteropodidae) in suburban Haikou City, Hainan Province, South China from November 2005 to January 2006 using radio telemetry.These animals left the daytime roosting sites about 90 min after sunset with no significant difference in departure time betweenthe male and female bats. The average active times were 391.8 min for males and 533.7 min for the female, respectively.By reconstructing 93 radio-telemetry recording positions, we found that the long axis of foraging area of the bats ranged from7.45 to 11.70 km. The foraging area of the female (3867 ha) was larger than that of the males (1138 ha), and there was overlapbetween the foraging areas of different individuals. These bats usually kept the same flight routes across a few successive daysfrom the daytime roosting site to the foraging areas. Our findings suggested that female R. leschenaulti may explore a larger foragingarea than males.
