| 2 | Association between socioeconomic status and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in Jiangsu province, China: a population-based study显示文摘Background:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a common public health problem worldwide.Recent studies have reported that socioeconomic status(SES)is related to the incidence of COPD.This study aimed to investigate the association between SES and COPD among adults in Jiangsu province,China,and to determine the possible direct and indirect effects of SES on the morbidity of COPD.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted among adults aged 40 years and above between May and December of 2015 in Jiangsu province,China.Participants were selected using a multistage sampling approach.COPD,the outcome variable,was diagnosed by physicians based on spirometry,respiratory symptoms,and risk factors.Education,occupation,and monthly family average income(FAI)were used to separately indicate SES as the explanatory variable.Mixed-effects logistic regression models were introduced to calculate odds ratios(ORs)and 95%confidence intervals(CIs)for examining the SES-COPD relationship.A pathway analysis was conducted to further explore the pulmonary function impairment of patients with different SES.Results:The mean age of the 2421 participants was 56.63±9.62 years.The prevalence of COPD was 11.8%(95%CI:10.5%–13.1%)among the overall sample population.After adjustment for age,gender,residence,outdoor and indoor air pollution,body weight status,cigarette smoking,and potential study area-level clustering effects,educational attainment was negatively associated with COPD prevalence in men;white collars were at lower risk(OR:0.60,95%CI:0.43–0.83)of experiencing COPD than blue collars;compared with those within the lower FAI subgroup,participants in the upper(OR:0.68,95%CI:0.49–0.97)tertiles were less likely to experience COPD.Such negative associations between all these three SES indicators and COPD were significant among men only.Education,FAI,and occupation had direct or indirect effects on pulmonary function including post-bronchodilator forced expiratory volume in 1 s/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),FEV1,FVC,and FEV1 percentage of predicted.Education,FAI,and occupation had indirect effects on pulmonary function indices of all participants mainly through smoking status,indoor air pollution,and outdoor air pollution.We also found that occupation could affect post-bronchodilator FEV1/FVC through body mass index.Conclusions:Education,occupation,and FAI had an adverse relationship with COPD prevalence in Jiangsu province,China.SES has both direct and indirect associations with pulmonary function impairment.SES is of great significance for COPD morbidity.It is important that population-based COPD prevention strategies should be tailored for people with different SES. | Dan-Dan Zhang Jian-Nan Liu Qing Ye Zi Chen Ling Wu Xue-Qing Peng Gan Lu Jin-Yi Zhou Ran Tao Zhen Ding Fei Xu Linfu Zhou | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,13: | 5 |
| 3 | Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 9 as a potential therapeutic target for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)has become the third-leading cause of death worldwide,which is a severe economic burden to the healthcare system.Chronic bronchitis is the most common condition that contributes to COPD,both locally and systemically.Neutrophilic inflammation predominates in the COPD airway wall and lumen.Logically,repression of neutrophilia is an essential fashion to COPD treatment.However,currently available anti-neutrophilic therapies provide little benefit in COPD patients and may have serious side effects.Thus,there is an urgent need to explore an effective and safe anti-neutrophilic approach that might delay progression of the disease.Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin(Siglec)-9 is a member of the Siglec cell surface immunoglobulin family.It is noteworthy that Siglec-9 is highly expressed on human neutrophils and monocytes.Ligation of Siglec-9 by chemical compounds or synthetic ligands induced apoptosis and autophagic-like cell death in human neutrophils.Furthermore,administration of antibody to Siglec-E,mouse functional ortholog of Siglec-9,restrained recruitment and activation of neutrophils in mouse models of airway inflammation in vivo.Given the critical role that neutrophils play in chronic bronchitis and emphysema,targeting Siglec-9 could be beneficial for the treatment of COPD,asthma,fibrosis,and related chronic inflammatory lung diseases. | Zi Chen Shuang-Lan Xu Lin-Yang Ge Jin Zhu Tao Zheng Zhou Zhu Linfu Zhou | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,7: | 5 |
| 4 | Preparation of Starch Succinate WITH INTERMEDIATE DS BY AQUEOUS SLURRY REACTION显示文摘The succinylation of cornstarch by slurry reaction has been studied using sodium hydroxide as catalyst. Several reaction parameters afJecting the succinylation were investigated including the concentration of starch in water, the ratio of succinic anhydride to starch, the reaction time and the reaction temperature. The favorable conditions for an intermediate degree of substitution (DS) and reasonably high reaction efficiency (RE) are pH 8.5~9.0, 50% starch by weight to water, succinic anhydride to starch I/I (w/w), reaction time 4h, reaction temperature 30 ℃Under these conditions, the DS of 0.45 and RE of 28% were achieved. | 8 | Tectonic evolution of the Changling fault basin and its relationship to oil and gas accumulation显示文摘The Changling fault depression passed through three stages of evolution: a period of faulting, a period of subsidence, and an inversion period. The fault lifted the whole area and the formation was eroded during the late Yingcheng formation, the late Nenjiang formation, and the late Mingshui formation. The denudation quantity of eight wells located in the study area is estimated by the interval transit time method and by the formation trend extension method using seismic and drilling data. Inversion back stripping technology with de-compaction correction was used to restore the original sedimentary thickness step by step and to recover the burial history at a single well. Two profiles were selected for the recovery and study of the tectonic evolution. The study confirmed that the primary major gas bearing structure formed due to thermal shrinkage lifting during the late Yingcheng formation. Successive development in a pattern during the late Mingshui formation led to the formation of the primary gas pool. Vertical differential uplift during the late Nenjiang formation formed the Fulongquan structure during the late Paleogene. At this same time a secondary gas pool formed. A large scale reverse developed late in the Mingshui formation that provided the impetus for formation of a secondary gas pool. It is thought that the migration and accumulation of oil and gas was controlled by lithologic character, fracture, and structure. | 13 | Geochronological and geochemical constraints on the granitic gneiss in the Huozhou Complex: implications for the tectonic evolution of the Trans-North China Orogen显示文摘The Trans-North China Orogen is a major Neoarchean Paleoproterozoic collisional orogenic belt above the North China Craton, formed due to prolonged and complex processes. Even though many NeoarcheanPaleoproterozoic magmatic and metamorphic activities have been reported, due to the Huozhou Complex’s small outcropping range, little attention has been paid to the origin of various igneous rocks of the Huozhou Complex in the center of the Trans-North China Orogen. The Huozhou Complex, located south of the Luè liang, Wutai, and Hengshan complexes, is an important window into the Early Precambrian structure and evolution of the North China Craton. Its magma and metamorphism are crucial to understanding the development of the structural evolution of the Trans-North China Orogen. The Huozhou metamorphic complex area exposes a range of Precambrian metamorphic rocks, among which the most extensively dispersed is felsic biotite plagioclase gneiss. In this study comprehensive geological field survey, micropetrology,chronology, geochemistry, and Hf isotope analysis were carried out for the Qinggangping and Anziping gneiss in the north of the Huozhou Complex. The results show that the magmatic zircon age of the Qinggangping gneiss is2196 ± 14 Ma, and its protolith is I-type granite, formed by partial melting of igneous rocks in the absence of weathering. Its source is mainly the juvenile crust from depleted mantle dating 2431–2719 Ma, with a small amount of mantle-derived material. The Anziping gneiss has a metamorphic zircon age of 1931 ± 13 Ma with an S-type granite protolith belonging to peraluminous granite.The Anziping gneiss is formed by recycling pre-existing crustal components at 2613–2848 Ma. A minor quantity of mantle-derived magma is also introduced to the crust simultaneously. The samples of Qinggangping gneiss and Anziping gneiss show the characteristics of obvious negative Nb, Ti, and P elements in the spider diagram of primitive mantle standardization. | 18 | Non-seismic geophysical analysis of potential geothermal resources in the Longgang Block,Northeast China显示文摘Although geothermal energy has many clear advantages,including its sustainability and environmentally friendly nature,research into potential geothermal resources across the Longgang Block,Northeast China,has been limited.Here we present the first analysis of the potential geothermal resources in this region that employs joint geological and non-seismic geophysical methods to identify target areas that may be economically viable.We acquire and analyze high-precision gravity,magnetic,and magnetotelluric sounding data,which are constrained using the petrophysical parameters of outcropping rocks across the Longgang Block,to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the region’s deep geological structures and their geothermal resources potential,with a focus on identifying faults,rock masses,and thermal storage structures.We find that Archean granitic gneiss and Mesozoic rock masses in the deeper section of the Longgang Block possess weak gravity anomalies and high resistivities.We also identify thermal storage structures near these deeper geological units based on their extremely low resistivities.The data are used to infer the dip and depth of known or hidden faults,to constrain the spatial distribution of intrusive rock masses,and to determine the spatial distribution of subsurface thermal storage structures.The potential of the target areas for geothermal resources exploitation is divided into three grades based on contact depths between faults and thermal storage structures,and the scale of their thermal storage structures.Our results suggest that a joint non-seismic geophysical approach can be effective in locating and evaluating geothermal resources in complex geological settings. | HaiYan Liu Chong Peng LinFu Xue WenQing Li ChunHui Xu Cremilda Samuel Jofrisse | 2022 | Earth and Planetary Physics2022,6,6: | 1 |

| 20 | Numerical simulation of oil shale in-situ mining using fluid-thermo-solid coupling显示文摘For the in-situ gas-injection mining technology of oil shale by process,a numerical simulation method with flow-thermo-solid coupling is proposed in this paper.This method adopts separate simulations and step-by-step coupling simulation ideas combined with the advantages of the finite element method and the finite volume method.The numerical simulation of flow-thermo-solid coupling is decomposed into two parts:flow-solid coupling and thermo-solid coupling.Considering the Fuyu oil shale in-situ production test area in Songliao Basin as an example,it is concluded that the oil shale has undergone four heating stages:a rapid temperature rise,a steady temperature rise,a slow temperature rise,and heat preservation.It takes about 10 years for the stress-strain state of the oil shale layer to reach a steady-state through the thermo-solid coupling.The main strain zones of the oil shale layer are distributed near the fracturing fractures connected to the gas injection well and at the edge of the fracturing fractures.The areas with the plastic deformation in the oil shale layer predominantly appear near the gas injection wells,production wells,and fracturing channels.The areas with the largest fracture strength are mostly distributed near the edge of the fracturing fractures with low flow velocity and low temperature. | ZHANG Tiantong LIU Zeyu XIE Zhixian LI Yubo XUE Linfu | 2020 | Global Geology2020,23,4: | 1 |
