1Photosynthetic acclimation to long-term high temperature and soil drought stress in two spruce species (Picea crassifolia and P. wilsonii) used for afforestation显示文摘Picea crassifolia and P.wilsonii,commonly used for afforestation in northern China,are increasingly likely to be subjected to high temperatures and soil drought stress as a result of global warming.However,little is known about the effects of these stresses on foliar photosynthesis in the two species.To investigate how photosynthetic characteristics and sensitivity respond to prolonged high temperatures and soil drought,foliar gas exchange and other closely related parameters were recorded from four-year-old seedlings of both species.Seedlings were grown under two temperature treatments(25/15 and 35/25 °C) and four soil water regimes [80,60,40 and 20% of maximum field capacity(FC)] for 4 months.Although all treatments significantly reduced photosynthetic rates(P_n) of both species,P.crassifolia exhibited greater photosynthetic acclimation than P.wilsonii.Differences in photosynthetic acclimation were mainly related to variations in stomatal conductance(Cond) and the maximum quantum yield of PSII(F_v/F_m) between treatments.Indeed,higher Cond and F_v/F_m in all treatments were shown for P.crassifolia than for P.wilsonii.Moreover,photosynthesis in P.crassifolia exhibited inherently lower temperature sensitivities(broader span for the temperature response curves; lower b) and higher thermostability(invariable b between treatments).Further,severe drought stress(20% FC) limited the survival of P.wilsonii.Our results indicate that P.wilsonii is more susceptible to high temperatures and soil drought stress.Planting P.crassifolia would be more expected to survive these conditions and hence be of greater benefit to forest stability if predicted increases in drought and temperature in northern China occur.Xiaowei Zhang Litong Chen Jingru Wang Minghao Wang Shuli Yang Changming Zhao 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,2:4

4Efficient drug delivery and anticancer effect of micelles based on vitamin E succinate and chitosan derivatives显示文摘Nanocarriers have emerged as a promising cancer drug delivery strategy.Multi-drug resistance caused by overexpression of multiple-drug excretion transporters in tumor cells is the major obstacle to successful chemotherapy.Vitamin E derivatives have many essential functions for drug delivery applications,such as biological components that are hydrophobic,stable,water-soluble enhancing compounds,and anticancer activity.In addition,vitamin E derivatives are also effective mitocan which can overcome multi-drug resistance by binding to P glycoproteins.Here,we developed a carboxymethyl chitosan/vitamin E succinate nano-micellar system(O-CMCTS-VES).The synthesized polymers were characterized by Fourier Transform IR,and 1H NMR spectra.The mean sizes of O-CMCTS-VES and DOX-loaded nanoparticles were around 177 nm and 208 nm.The drug loading contents were 6.1%,13.0%and 10.6%with the weight ratio of DOX to O-CMCTS-VES corresponding 1:10,2:10 and 3:10,and the corresponding EEs were 64.3%,74.5%and 39.7%.Cytotoxicity test,hemolysis test and histocompatibility test showed that it had good biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo.Drug release experiments implied good pH sensitivity and sustained-release effect.The DOX/O-CMCTS-VES nanoparticles can be efficiently taken up by HepG2 cancer cells and the tumor inhibition rate is up to 62.57%.In the in vivo study by using H22 cells implanted Balb/C mice,DOX/O-CMCTS-VES reduced the tumor volume and weight efficiently with a TIR of 35.58%.The newly developed polymeric micelles could successfully be utilized as a nanocarrier system for hydrophobic chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of solid tumors.Xiaotong Chen Junxiang Gu Le Sun Wenya Li Lili Guo Zhiyang Gu Litong Wang Yan Zhang Wangwang Zhang Baoqin Han Jing Chang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:1

6First-principles investigation on initial stage of 2H-SiC(001) surface oxidation显示文摘We present comprehensive first-principles calculations on the initial stages of SiC oxidation by atomic oxygen on the 2H-SiC(001) surface. In order to study the kinetics of oxygen incorporation at the 2H-SiC(001) surface, we investigated adsorption and diffusion of oxygen atoms and SiO2 nucleation. The adsorption sites, corresponding to the local minima of the potential energy surface (PES) for iso-lated adatoms, were identified through a comparative study of the adatom binding energy at different locations. We found that the Bridge (siloxane) site is preferred over other adsorption sites. There is no energy barrier at 0K for oxygen insertion into this site. The diffusion energy barriers that the adatom has to overcome when jumping between two adsorption sites were calculated. 16A Novel Tracking-by-Detection Method with Local Binary Pattern and Kalman Filter显示文摘Tracking-Learning-Detection( TLD) is an adaptive tracking algorithm,which tracks by learning the appearance of the object as the video progresses and shows a good performance in long-term tracking task.But our experiments show that under some scenarios,such as non-uniform illumination changing,serious occlusion,or motion-blurred,it may fails to track the object. In this paper,to surmount some of these shortages,especially for the non-uniform illumination changing,and give full play to the performance of the tracking-learning-detection framework, we integrate the local binary pattern( LBP) with the cascade classifiers,and define a new classifier named ULBP( Uniform Local Binary Pattern) classifiers. When the object appearance has rich texture features,the ULBP classifier will work instead of the nearest neighbor classifier in TLD algorithm,and a recognition module is designed to choose the suitable classifier between the original nearest neighbor( NN) classifier and the ULBP classifier. To further decrease the computing load of the proposed tracking approach,Kalman filter is applied to predict the searching range of the tracking object.A comprehensive study has been conducted to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm (TLD _ULBP),and different multi-property datasets were used. 18Carbon fluxes and soil carbon dynamics along a gradient of biogeomorphic succession in alpine wetlands of Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Hydrological changes under climate warming drive the biogeomorphic succession of wetlands and may trigger substantial carbon loss from the carbon-rich ecosystems.Although many studies have explored the responses of wetland carbon emissions to short-term hydrological change,it remains poorly understood how the carbon cycle evolves with hydrology-driven wetland succession.Here,we used a space-for-time approach across hydrological gradients on the Tibetan Plateau to examine the dynamics of ecosystem carbon fluxes(carbon dioxide(CO_(2))and methane(CH4))and soil organic carbon pools during alpine wetland succession.We found that the succession from mesic meadow to fen changed the seasonality of both CO_(2) and CH4 fluxes,which was related to the shift in plant community composition,enhanced regulation of soil hydrology and increasing contribution of spring-thaw emission.The paludification caused a switch from net uptake of gaseous carbon to net release on an annual timescale but produced a large accumulation of soil organic carbon.We attempted to attribute the paradox between evidence from the carbon fluxes and pools to the lateral carbon input and the systematic changes of historical climate,given that the wetlands are spatially low-lying with strong temporal climate-carbon cycle interactions.These findings demonstrate a systematic change in the carbon cycle with succession and suggest that biogeomorphic succession and lateral carbon flows are both important for understanding the long-term dynamics of wetland carbon footprints.Hao Wang Lingfei Yu Litong Chen Zhenhua Zhang Xuefei Li Naishen Liang Changhui Peng Jin-Sheng He 2023Fundamental Research2023,3,2:1
19N-carboxymethyl chitosan/sodium alginate composite hydrogel loading plasmid DNA as a promising gene activated matrix for in-situ burn wound treatment显示文摘Improving the degree of vascularization through the regulation of wound microenvironment is crucial for wound repair.Gene activated matrix(GAM)technology provides a new approach for skin regeneration.It is a local gene delivery system that can not only maintain a moist environment,but also increase the concentration of local active factors.For this purpose,we fabricated the mVEGF165/TGF-β1 gene-loaded N-carboxymethyl chitosan/sodium alginate hydrogel and studied its effect on promoting deep second degree burn wound repair.The average diameter of the hydrogel pores was 100μm and the porosity was calculated as 50.9%.SEM and CLSM images showed that the hydrogel was suitable for cell adhesion and growth.The NS-GAM could maintain continuous expression for at least 9 days in vitro,showing long-term gene release and expression effect.Deep second-degree burn wound model was made on the backs of Wistar rats to evaluate the healing effect.The wounds were healed by day 22 in NS-GAM group with the prolonged high expression of VEGF and TGF-β1 protein.A high degree of neovascularization and high expression level of CD34 were observed in NS-GAM group in 21 days.The histological results showed that NS-GAM had good tissue safety and could effectively promote epithelialization and collagen regeneration.These results indicated that the NS-GAM could be applied as a promising local gene delivery system for the repair of deep second-degree burn wounds.Litong Wang Le Sun Zhiyang Gu Wenya Li Lili Guo Saibo Ma Lan Guo Wangwang Zhang Baoqin Han Jing Chang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,9:1
