| 1 | Relationship between intestinal microbiota and ulcerative colitis:Mechanisms and clinical application of probiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation显示文摘Ulcerative colitis(UC) is an inflammatory disease that mainly affects the colon and rectum. It is believed that genetic factors, host immune system disorders, intestinal microbiota dysbiosis, and environmental factors contribute to the pathogenesis of UC. however, studies on the role of intestinal microbiota in the pathogenesis of UC have been inconclusive. Studies have shown that probiotics improve intestinal mucosa barrier function and immune system function and promote secretion of anti-inflammatory factors, thereby inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestine. Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT) can reduce bowel permeability and thus the severity of disease by increasing the production of short-chain fatty acids, especially butyrate, which help maintain the integrity of the epithelial barrier. FMT can also restore immune dysbiosis by inhibiting Th1 differentiation, activity of T cells, leukocyte adhesion, and production of inflammatory factors. Probiotics and FMT are being increasingly used to treat UC, but their use is controversial because of uncertain efficacy. | 5 | Atorvastatin protects cardiac progenitor cells from hypoxia-induced cell growth inhibition via MEG3/miR-22/HMGB1 pathway显示文摘Heart failure (HF)induced by ischemia myocardial infarction (MI)is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality all around the world.Atorvastatin,a hydroxyrnethylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor,has been demonstrated to benefit patients with ischemic or non-ischemicinduced HF,but the mechanism is still poorly understood.Increasing evidence indicates that IncRNAs play important role in variety of human disease.However,the role and underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unclear.In our work,we applied 0.5%02 to generate a hypoxia cardiac progenitor cell (CPC)model.Then,CCK8 and EdU assays were employed to investigate the role of atorvastatin in hypoxia CPC cell model.We found that hypoxia inhibits CPC viability and proliferation through modulating MEG3 expression,while atorvastatin application can protect CPCs from hypoxia-induced injury through inhibiting MEG3 expression.Then,we demonstrated that repression of MEG3 inhibited the hypoxia-induced injury of CPCs and overexpression of MEG3 inhibited the protective effect of atorvastatin in the hypoxia-induced injury of CPCs.Furthermore,our study illustrated that atorvastatin played its role in CPC viability and proliferation by modulating the expression of HMGB1 through the MEG3/miR-22 pathway.Our study, for the first time,uncovered the molecular mechanism of atorvastatin's protective role in cardiomyocytes under hypoxia condition,which may provide an exploitable target in developing effective therapy drugs for MI patients. | Jinwen Su Ming Fang Bei Tian Jun Luo Can Jin Xuejun Wang Zhongping Ning Xinming Li | 2018 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2018,50,12: | 6 |
| 6 | NMRCloudQ: a quantum cloud experience on a nuclear magnetic resonance quantum computer显示文摘Cloud-based quantum computing is anticipated to be the most useful and reachable form for public users to experience with the power of quantum. As initial attempts, IBM Q has launched influential cloud services on a superconducting quantum processor in 2016, but no other platforms has followed up yet. Here,we report our new cloud quantum computing service – NMRCloud Q(http://nmrcloudq.com/zh-hans/),where nuclear magnetic resonance, one of the pioneer platforms with mature techniques in experimental quantum computing, plays as the role of implementing computing tasks. Our service provides a comprehensive software environment preconfigured with a list of quantum information processing packages,and aims to be freely accessible to either amateurs that look forward to keeping pace with this quantum era or professionals that are interested in carrying out real quantum computing experiments in person. In our current version, four qubits are already usable with in average 99.10% single-qubit gate fidelity and 97.15% two-qubit fidelity via randomized benchmaking tests. | 9 | Single-center Experience in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Hepatic Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Neoplasm显示文摘Background and Aims:Perivascular epithelioid cell neo-plasms(PEComas)are a rare type of mesenchymal neo-plasm and their preoperative diagnosis is challenging.In this study,we summarized the experience from a single medical center to study the examinations,clinical presen-tations,and pathological and histological characteristics of PEComas in the liver in order to optimize overall un-derstanding of the diagnosis and treatment of these neo-plasms.Methods:We conducted a retrospective analysis to investigate the clinical and pathological characteristics as well as imaging presentations of 75 patients diagnosed with hepatic PEComa in The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhe-jiang University between April 2010 and April 2020.Re-sults:Among the 75 patients,52 were women,and the median age was 48 years.Most patients had no specific symptoms,and two were admitted to the hospital for a second time owing to relapse.All patients underwent surgi-cal resection.Histologically,38 patients had classical angio-myolipoma(AML)and 37 had epithelioid AML.The PECo-mas were accompanied by positive immunohistochemical expression of HMB45,Melan-A,and smooth muscle actin.Follow-up data were obtained from 47 of the total 75 pa-tients,through October 2020.Two patients had metastasis after surgery.Conclusions:AML is the most common type of hepatic PEComa.There are no specific symptoms of he-patic PEComa,and serological examinations and imaging modalities for accurate preoperative diagnosis are lacking.Epithelioid AML should be considered a tumor of uncertain malignant potential;however,the prognosis of PEComa af-ter resection is promising. | Junjun Jia Jia Luo Cheng-Gen Pan Guomei Ge Meibao Feng Bei Zou Li Liu Shusen Zheng Jun Yu | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1: | 5 |
| 10 | The Portevin-Le Chatelier effect of gradient nanostructured 5182 aluminum alloy by surface mechanical attrition treatment显示文摘Nanocrystalline surface layers and gradient nanostructure in 5182 aluminum alloy have been produced through surface mechanical attrition treatment(SMAT). The results indicate that the gradient nanostructure can not only improve the mechanical properties of 5182 Al alloy, but also has a certain effect on the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC) effect. The yield and ultimate tensile strength of 5182 Al alloy with SMAT are significantly improved combining with the decrease of fracture elongation compared with the as-received one. The PLC effect of 5182 Al alloy could be effectively postponed by the formation of gradient nanostructure after SMAT. It leads to the increase of critical strain of the PLC effect, more concentrated distribution of serrated strain, and increase of average stress amplitude in special strain range. The influence of grain size and gradient nanostructure on the PLC effect of 5182 Al alloy was also discussed in detail. Grain refinement could sharply increase the density of dislocations and hinder the movement of dislocations, which results in the decrease of moving speed of dislocations and the more concentrated distribution of solute atoms. The solute atoms would aggregate to form nano precipitates and further impede movement of dislocation. | 12 | Ultrafast growth of large single crystals of monolayer WS2 and WSe2显示文摘Monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)have attracted considerable attention as atomically thin semiconductors for the ultimate transistor scaling.For practical applications in integrated electronics,large monolayer single crystals are essential for ensuring consistent electronic properties and high device yield.The TMDs available today are generally obtained by mechanical exfoliation or chemical vapor deposition(CVD)growth,but are often of mixed layer thickness,limited single crystal domain size or have very slow growth rate.Scalable and rapid growth of large single crystals of monolayer TMDs requires maximization of lateral growth rate while completely suppressing the vertical growth,which represents a fundamental synthetic challenge and has motivated considerable efforts.Herein we report a modified CVD approach with controllable reverse flow for rapid growth of large domain single crystals of monolayer TMDs.With the use of reverse flow to precisely control the chemical vapor supply in the thermal CVD process,we can effectively prevent undesired nucleation before reaching optimum growth temperature and enable rapid nucleation and growth of monolayer TMD single crystals at a high temperature that is difficult to attain with use of a typical thermal CVD process.We show that monolayer single crystals of 450μm lateral size can be prepared in 10 s,with the highest lateral growth rate up to 45μm/s.Electronic characterization shows that the resulting monolayer WSe2 material exhibits excellent electronic properties with carrier mobility up to 90 cm^2 V^-1 s^-1,comparable to that of the best exfoliated monolayers.Our study provides a robust pathway for rapid growth of high-quality TMD single crystals. | Zhengwei Zhang Peng Chen Xiangdong Yang Yuan Liu Huifang Ma Jia Li Bei Zhao Jun Luo Xidong Duan Xiangfeng Duan | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,4: | 4 |
| 13 | Coexistence of multiple coronaviruses in several bat colonies in an abandoned mineshaft显示文摘Since the 2002–2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS) outbreak prompted a search for the natural reservoir of the SARS coronavirus, numerous alpha- and betacoronaviruses have been discovered in bats around the world. Bats are likely the natural reservoir of alpha- and betacoronaviruses, and due to the rich diversity and global distribution of bats, the number of bat coronaviruses will likely increase. We conducted a surveillance of coronaviruses in bats in an abandoned mineshaft in Mojiang County, Yunnan Province, China, from 2012–2013. Six bat species were frequently detected in the cave: Rhinolophus sinicus, Rhinolophus affinis, Hipposideros pomona, Miniopterus schreibersii, Miniopterus fuliginosus, and Miniopterus fuscus. By sequencing PCR products of the coronavirus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase gene(Rd Rp), we found a high frequency of infection by a diverse group of coronaviruses in different bat species in the mineshaft. Sequenced partial Rd Rp fragments had 80%–99% nucleic acid sequence identity with well-characterized Alphacoronavirus species, including Bt CoV HKU2, Bt CoV HKU8, and Bt CoV1,and unassigned species Bt CoV HKU7 and Bt CoV HKU10. Additionally, the surveillance identified two unclassified betacoronaviruses, one new strain of SARS-like coronavirus, and one potentially new betacoronavirus species. Furthermore, coronavirus co-infection was detected in all six bat species, a phenomenon that fosters recombination and promotes the emergence of novel virus strains.
