| 2 | Crustal deformation on the Chinese mainland during 1998—2004 based on GPS data显示文摘This study focuses on resolving moderate amounts of crustal motion at the continental scale based on a large volume of global positioning system(GPS) data during 1998e2014. A state-of-the-art GPS processing strategy was used to resolve position time series and velocities from carrier beat phases for all available data. Position time series were closely analyzed to estimate linear constant, coseismic displacements, postseismic motions, and other parameters. We present coseismic offsets inferred from the GPS data for the 2010 Yushu and 2014 Yutian earthquakes, and also illustrate transient postseismic motions following the 2001 Kokoxili, 2008 Wenchuan, and 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquakes. Since not all GPS position time series dominated by postseismic motions can be modeled and corrected reasonably, we present contemporary horizontal velocities from 2009 to 2014 for campaign stations and from 1998 to 2014 for continuous stations, irrespective of postseismic deformations. | 3 | Prognostic factors of refractory NSCLC patients receiving anlotinib hydrochloride as the third-or further-line treatment显示文摘Objective:Anlotinib hydrochloride is a multitarget tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor,fibroblast growth factor receptor,platelet-derived growth factor receptor,c-Kit,and c-MET;therefore,it exhibits both antitumor and anti-angiogenetic activities.A phase III trial has shown that anlotinib improved progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),who presented with progressive disease or intolerance after standard chemotherapy.This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of patients receiving anlotinib treatment to determine the dominant populations who are fit for the treatment.Methods:Data were collected from March 2015 to January 2017 from a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,multicenter,phase III trial of anlotinib(ALTER0303).A total of 437 patients were enrolled and randomly allocated(2:1)to the anlotinib and placebo groups.Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test were performed to compare PFS and OS.Cox proportional hazards model was adopted for multivariate prognostic analysis.Results:Multivariate analysis indicated that high post-therapeutic peripheral blood granulocyte/lymphocyte ratio and elevated alkaline phosphatase levels were independent risk factors for PFS.Meanwhile,elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone,blood glucose,and triglyceride levels;hypertension;and hand–foot syndrome were independent protective factors of PFS.High posttherapeutic peripheral blood granulocyte/lymphocyte ratio,an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)score≥2,and the sum of the maximal target lesion length at baseline were independent risk factors of OS,and hypertriglyceridemia was an independent protective factor of OS.Conclusions:This study preliminarily explored the possible factors that affected PFS and OS after anlotinib treatment in patients with advanced refractory NSCLC,and the baseline characteristics of the therapeutically dominant populations were then identified. | Jing Wang Yizhuo Zhao Qiming Wang Li Zhang Jianhua Shi Zhehai Wang Ying Cheng Jianxing He Yuankai Shi Hao Yu Yang Zhao Weiqiang Chen Yi Luo Xiuwen Wang Kejun Nan Faguang Jin Jian Dong Baolan Li Zhujun Liu Baohui Han Kai Li | 2018 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,4: | 46 |
| 4 | Intelligent and connected vehicles: Current status and future perspectives显示文摘Intelligent connected vehicles(ICVs) are believed to change people's life in the near future by making the transportation safer,cleaner and more comfortable. Although many prototypes of ICVs have been developed to prove the concept of autonomous driving and the feasibility of improving traffic efficiency, there still exists a significant gap before achieving mass production of high-level ICVs. The objective of this study is to present an overview of both the state of the art and future perspectives of key technologies that are needed for future ICVs. It is a challenging task to review all related works and predict their future perspectives, especially for such a complex and interdisciplinary area of research. This article is organized to overview the ICV key technologies by answering three questions: what are the milestones in the history of ICVs; what are the electronic components needed for building an ICV platform; and what are the essential algorithms to enable intelligent driving? To answer the first question, the article has reviewed the history and the development milestones of ICVs. For the second question, the recent technology advances in electrical/electronic architecture, sensors, and actuators are presented. For the third question, the article focuses on the algorithms in decision making, as the perception and control algorithm are covered in the development of sensors and actuators. To achieve correct decision-making, there exist two different approaches: the principle-based approach and data-driven approach. The advantages and limitations of both approaches are explained and analyzed. Currently automotive engineers are concerned more with the vehicle platform technology, whereas the academic researchers prefer to focus on theoretical algorithms. | 6 | Effects of Duhuojisheng Tang and combined therapies on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc:a systematic review of randomized control trails显示文摘OBJECTIVE:A systematic review of the literature was conducted to evaluate the curative effect and safety of Duhuojisheng Tang on prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc.METHODS:The databases of PubMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM) and Chinese Medical Citation Index(CMCI) were searched up to January 30,2012.Randomized controlled trials were selected to compare Duhuojisheng Tang with one or more of the following treatments:traction,acupuncture,massage,cupping and Western medical treatment.The quality-evaluating standard and the software RevMan 5.1 in Cochrane coordinative net were used to analyze the data.The effective indexes of the results were clinical curative rate,effectiveness of alleviating clinical symptoms and adverse reaction.RESULTS:Thirty-one randomized controlled trials of low quality,involving 3915 patients were systematically evaluated.Statistical analyses showed that good curative effect was achieved in both the group using Duhuojisheng Tang alone and with combined therapies.CONCLUSION:Using Duhuojisheng Tang alone or combined with other therapies can effectively improve pain,leg-raising height and other clinical symptoms of patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.Due to low methodological quality of the articles,no exact recommendations can be made. | Yanxu Ma Minghua Huang Jingyan Cui Kai Meng Yuhao Zhao | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 27 |

| 8 | Isolation and Identification of Cancer Stem-Like Cells from Murine Melanoma Cell Lines显示文摘In current study,cancer stem-like cells in the murine melanoma B16F10 cells were investigated.CD phenotypes of the B16F10 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry,and the specific CD phenotype cells from the B16F10 cells were isolated by MACS.Then we used colony formation assay in soft agar media,the cell growth assay in serum-free culture media as well as the tumorigenicity investigation of the specific CD phenotype cells in C57BL/6 mice, respectively,to identify cancer stem-like cells in the B16F10 cells.The results showed that the B16F10 cells could form spherical clones in serum-free culture media,and the rate of clonegenesis of CD133 + ,CD44 + and CD44 + CD133 + cells was higher than that of CD133 - ,CD44 - and CD44 + CD133 - cells in soft agar media,respectively. | 9 | Screening and breeding of high taxol producing fungi by genome shuffling显示文摘To apply the fundamental principles of genome shuffling in breeding of taxol-producing fungi, Nodulisporium sylviform was used as starting strain in this work. The procedures of protoplast fusion and genome shuffling were studied. Three hereditarily stable strains with high taxol production were obtained by four cycles of genome shuffling. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of taxol produced was confirmed using thin-layer chromatography (TLC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and LC-MS. A high taxol producing fungus, Nodulisporium sylviform F4-26, was obtained, which produced 516.37 μg/L taxol. | 17 | YAP promotes osteogenesis and suppresses adipogenic differentiation by regulatingβ-catenin signaling显示文摘YAP(yes-associated protein) is a transcriptional factor that is negatively regulated by Hippo pathway, a conserved pathway for the development and size control of multiple organs. The exact function of YAP in bone homeostasis remains controversial. Here we provide evidence for YAP's function in promoting osteogenesis, suppressing adipogenesis, and thus maintaining bone homeostasis.YAP is selectively expressed in osteoblast(OB)-lineage cells. Conditionally knocking out Yap in the OB lineage in mice reduces cell proliferation and OB differentiation and increases adipocyte formation, resulting in a trabecular bone loss. Mechanistically, YAP interacts with β-catenin and is necessary for maintenance of nuclear β-catenin level and Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Expression of β-catenin in YAP-deficient BMSCs(bone marrow stromal cells) diminishes the osteogenesis deficit. | 18 | Pathomorphological study on location and distribution of Kupffer cells in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To clarify the location and distribution of Kupffer cells in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and to investigate their role in hepatocarcinogenesis.METHODS: Kupffer cells were immunohistochemically stained by streptavadin-peroxidase conjugated method (S-P). The numbers of Kupffer cells in cancerous, para-cancerous and adjacent normal liver tissues of 48 HCCs were comparatively examined.RESULTS: The mean number of Kupffer cells in cancerous,para-cancerous and adjacent normal liver tissues was 12.7±6.8, 18.1±8.2 and 18.9±7.9 respectively. The number of Kuppfer cells in cancerous tissues was significantly lower than that in para-cancerous tissues (t=2.423, P<0.05) and adjacent normal liver tissues (t=2.52t, P<0.05). As tumor size increased, the number of Kupffer cells in cancerous tissues significantly decreased (F=4.61, P<0.05). | 20 | Hydrogen Peroxide-Mediated Growth of the Root System Occurs via Auxin Signaling Modification and Variations in the Expression of Cell-Cycle Genes in Rice Seedlings Exposed to Cadmium Stress显示文摘The link between root growth,H2O2,auxin signaling,and the cell cycle in cadmium (Cd)-stressed rice (Oryza sativa L.cv.Zhonghua No.11) was analyzed in this study.Exposure to Cd induced a significant accumulation of Cd,but caused a decrease in zinc (Zn) content which resulted from the decreased expression of OsHMA9 and OsZIP.Analysis using a Cd-specific probe showed that Cd was mainly localized in the meristematic zone and vascular tissues.Formation and elongation of the root system were significantly promoted by 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (AT),but were markedly inhibited by N,N'dimethylthiourea (DMTU) under Cd stress.The effect of H2O2 on Cd-stressed root growth was further confirmed by examining a gain-of-function rice mutant (carrying catalase1 and glutathione-S-transferase) in the presence or absence of diphenylene iodonium.DR5-GUS staining revealed close associations between H2O2 and the concentration and distribution of auxin.H2O2 affected the expression of key genes,including OsYUCCA,OsPIN,OsARF,and OsIAA,in the auxin signaling pathway in Cd-treated plants.These results suggest that H2O2 functions upstream of the auxin signaling pathway.Furthermore,H2O2 modified the expression of cell-cycle genes in Cd-treated roots.The effects of H2O2 on root system growth are therefore linked to auxin signal modification and to variations in the expression of cell-cycle genes in Cd-stressed rice.A working model for the effects of H2O2 on Cd-stressed root system growth is thus proposed and discussed in this paper. | Feng-Yun Zhao Ming-Ming Han Shi-Yong Zhang Kai Wang Cheng-Ren Zhang Tao Liu Wen Liu | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,12: | 18 |
