| 1 | Extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells prevent osteoporosis by transferring CTHRC1 and OPG显示文摘Osteoporosis is a debilitating bone disease affecting millions of people. Here, we used human urine-derived stem cells(USCs),which were noninvasively harvested from unlimited and easily available urine, as a 'factory' to obtain extracellular vesicles(USCEVs) and demonstrated that the systemic injection of USC-EVs effectively alleviates bone loss and maintains bone strength in osteoporotic mice by enhancing osteoblastic bone formation and suppressing osteoclastic bone resorption. More importantly, the anti-osteoporotic properties of USC-EVs are not notably disrupted by the age, gender, or health condition(with or without osteoporosis) of the USC donor. Mechanistic studies determined that collagen triple-helix repeat containing 1(CTHRC1) and osteoprotegerin(OPG) proteins are enriched in USC-EVs and required for USC-EV-induced pro-osteogenic and anti-osteoclastic effects. | 4 | Flame-retardant concentrated electrolyte enabling a Li F-rich solid electrolyte interface to improve cycle performance of wide-temperature lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium–sulfur batteries have been regarded as the most promising high-energy electrochemical energy storage device owing to the high energy density, low cost and environmental friendliness. However, traditional lithium–sulfur batteries using ether-based electrolytes often suffer from severe safety risks(i.e. combustion). Herein, we demonstrated a novel kind of flame-retardant concentrated electrolyte(6.5 M lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulphonyl)imide/fluoroethylene carbonate) for highly-safe and widetemperature lithium–sulfur batteries. It was found that such concentrated electrolyte showed superior flame retardancy, high lithium-ion transference number(0.69) and steady lithium plating/stripping behavior(2.5 m Ah cm^(-2) over 3000 h). Moreover, lithium–sulfur batteries using this flame-retardant concentrated electrolyte delivered outstanding cycle performance in a wide range of temperatures(-10 °C, 25 °C and 90 °C). This superior battery performance is mainly attributed to the LiF-rich solid electrolyte interphase formed on lithium metal anode, which can effectively suppress the continuous growth of lithium dendrites. | 6 | Aggregation-induced Emission-active Hyperbranched Poly (tetrahydropyrimidine)s Synthesized from Multicomponent Tandem Polymerization显示文摘Hyperbranched polymer with highly branched three-dimensional topological structure, a large number of end groups, and multifaceted functionalities have gained much attention, while polymers with aggregation-induced emission(AIE) properties become a group of popular luminescent materials recently. The design and synthesis of AIE-active hyperbranched polymers, which combine the advantages of these two types of materials, are attractive but challenging. In this work, four hyperbranched poly(tetrahydropyrimidine)s were synthesized from the metal-free room temperature multicomponent tandem polymerization of diester group-activated internal alkyne,polyfunctional aromatic amines, and formaldehyde in methanol under the catalysis of acetic acid. Through different monomer combination and controlling the monomer loading order, hyperbranched polymers with various topological structures as well as sequences of different functional groups in the polymer backbone were obtained with high molecular weights(up to 3.0 × 10~4 g/mol) in high yields(up to 98%). The hyperbranched poly(tetrahydropyrimidine) emitted faintly in solution, while its luminescence was notably enhanced in the aggregated state, suggesting its typical aggregation-induced emission property. | 7 | Recent Progress in AIE-active Polymers显示文摘The demand for highly efficient solid-state luminophores is continuously growing due to their potential applications in optoelectrical devices, chemosensors, and biological applications. The discovery of luminogens with aggregation-induced emission(AIE)by Tang et al. in 2001 provides a good reponse to this demand. Among the exploited AIE luminogens, AIE-active polymers possess many advantages such as simple synthesis, convenient structrue modifications, and good processability, which offer an extensive platform for scientists and engineers. Herein, the design principles and latest synthetic advancement of AIE-active polymers are summarized, including click polymerization and multicomponent polymerization. Non-conjugated heteroatom-rich polymers were in situ generated and demonstated non-conventional clusteroluminoscence. Advanced applications including fluorescent sensors, stimuli-responsive materials,biological applications, circularly polarized luminescence, and electroluminescence are then introduced in detail. AIE-active polymers display the signal-amplification effect for sensitive and selective response to chemo/bioanalytes or stimuli and enhanced photosensitization effect for cancer theranostics. | 8 | Coexistence of multiple coronaviruses in several bat colonies in an abandoned mineshaft显示文摘Since the 2002–2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS) outbreak prompted a search for the natural reservoir of the SARS coronavirus, numerous alpha- and betacoronaviruses have been discovered in bats around the world. Bats are likely the natural reservoir of alpha- and betacoronaviruses, and due to the rich diversity and global distribution of bats, the number of bat coronaviruses will likely increase. We conducted a surveillance of coronaviruses in bats in an abandoned mineshaft in Mojiang County, Yunnan Province, China, from 2012–2013. Six bat species were frequently detected in the cave: Rhinolophus sinicus, Rhinolophus affinis, Hipposideros pomona, Miniopterus schreibersii, Miniopterus fuliginosus, and Miniopterus fuscus. By sequencing PCR products of the coronavirus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase gene(Rd Rp), we found a high frequency of infection by a diverse group of coronaviruses in different bat species in the mineshaft. Sequenced partial Rd Rp fragments had 80%–99% nucleic acid sequence identity with well-characterized Alphacoronavirus species, including Bt CoV HKU2, Bt CoV HKU8, and Bt CoV1,and unassigned species Bt CoV HKU7 and Bt CoV HKU10. Additionally, the surveillance identified two unclassified betacoronaviruses, one new strain of SARS-like coronavirus, and one potentially new betacoronavirus species. Furthermore, coronavirus co-infection was detected in all six bat species, a phenomenon that fosters recombination and promotes the emergence of novel virus strains. | 10 | Fine mapping of the awn gene on chromosome 4 in rice by association and linkage analyses显示文摘Awnness is a key trait in rice domestication, yet no studies have been conducted on fine mapping or association mapping of the rice awn gene. In this study, we investigated the awnness and genotype of a core collection of 303 cultivated rice varieties and a BC5F2 segregating population of 200 individuals. Combining association and linkage analyses, we mapped the awnness related genes to chromosome 4. Primary association analysis using 24 SSR markers revealed five loci significantly associated with awnness on chromosome 4. The associated markers cover previously identified regions. Fine association mapping was conducted using another 29 markers within a 4-Mb region, covering the associated marker in34, which is close to the awn gene Awn4.1. Seven associated markers were revealed, distributed over an 870-kb region. Combining the fine association mapping and linkage analysis of awnness in the 200 BC5F2 segregating population, we finally identified a 330-kb region as the candidate region for Awn4.1. In this paper, we report the incident quantum efficiency ηin, not incident energy or power, as the evaluation function by the ant colony algorithm optimization method, which is a swarm-based optimization method. Also, SPCTRL2 is proposed to be incorporated for accurate optimization because the solar irradiance on a receiver plane is dependent on position, season, and time. Cities of Quito, Beijing and Moscow are selected for two-and three-layer antireflective coating optimization over λ = [300,1100] nm and θ = [0°, 90°]. The results show that addition of 10% (volume ratio of diglyme to toluene) diglyme as a cosolvent to the reaction mixture leads to the yield increase of PMPES with a monomodal distribution of relative molecular masses. Adding 10% diglyme to the reaction mixtures, the yields of polymethylcyclohexylsilane(PMCS) and copolymers (polymethylphenethylsilane co methylcyclohexylsilane), (the molar ratios of methylphenethyldichlorosilane to methylcyclohexyldichlorosilane were 2.0, 1.0 and 0.5, and the copolymers were abbreviated by Copolymers Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, respectively) are 47%, 52%, 54%, 53%, respectively. | 19 | Quantum-enhanced stochastic phase estimation with the Su(1,1)interferometer显示文摘Quantum stochastic phase estimation has many applications in the precise measurement of various physical parameters.Similar to the estimation of a constant phase,there is a standard quantum limit for stochastic phase estimation,which can be obtained with the Mach-Zehnder interferometer and coherent input state.Recently,it has been shown that the stochastic standard quantum limit can be surpassed with nonclassical resources such as squcezed light.However,practical methods to achieve quantum enhancement in the stochastic phase estimation remain largely unexplored.Here we propose a method utilizing the SU(1,1)interferometer and coherent input states to cstimate a stochastic optical phase.As an example,we investigate the Ornstcin-Uhlenback stochastic phase.We analyze the performance of this method for three key estimation problems:prediction,tracking,and smoothing.The results show significant reduction of the mean square error compared with the Mach-Zehnder interferometer under the same photon number flux inside the interferometers.In particular,we show that the method with the SU(1,1)interferometer can achieve fundamental quantum scaling,achieve stochastic Heisenberg scalinga and surpass the precision of the canonical measurement. | KAIMIN ZHENG MINGHAO MI BEN WANG LANG XU LIYUN HU SHENGSHUAI LIU YANBO LOU JETAI JING LIJIAN ZHANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,10: | 2 |
| 20 | Self-healing hyperbranched polytriazoles prepared by metal-free click polymerization of propiolate and azide monomers显示文摘The last decade has witnessed the quick develop of self-healing materials. As a newborn strategy, the alternative of irreversible covalent bond formation is, however, to be further developed. In this paper, self-healing hyperbranched poly(aroxycarbonyltriazole)based on such mechanism were prepared by our developed metal-free click polymerization of simplified dipropiolate and triazide. Thanks to their excellent processability and film-forming ability, high quality homogeneous films free from defects were obtained by casting. The cut films could be healed by stacking or pressing the halves together at room temperature and elevated temperature.
