2MTCrossBit: A dynamic binary translation system based on multithreaded optimization显示文摘Dynamic optimization has been proposed to overcome many limitations caused by static optimization and is widely applied in dynamic binary translation (DBT) to effectively enhance system performance.However,almost all the existing dynamic optimization techniques or methods employed in DBT systems for a single-threaded executive environment considerably increase the complexity of the hardware or the striking runtime overhead.We propose a multithreaded DBT framework with no associated hardware called the MTCrossBit,where a helper thread for building a hot trace is employed to significantly reduce the overhead.In addition,the main thread and helper thread are each assigned to different cores to use the multi-core resources efficiently to attain better performance,two novel methods yet to be implemented in the MTCrossBit are presented: the dual-special-parallel translation caches and the new lock-free threads communication mechanism—assembly language communication (ASLC).We then apply quantitative analysis to prove that MTCrossBit can speed up the original CrossBit.Simultaneously,we present results from the implementation of the MTCrossBit on the uniprocessor machines with multi-cores utilizing the benchmark-SPECint 2000,and illustrate that we achieved some success with the above concurrent architecture.GUAN HaiBing MA RuHui YANG HongBo YANG YinDong LIU Liang CHEN Ying 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,10:2

8Online traffic-aware linked VM placement in cloud data centers显示文摘In cloud computing,virtual machine(VM) placement plays a crucial role in data center(DC)management,as different ways of VM placement may require different system resources.As Cisco research reveals that virtualization of DC increases traffic within the DC and causes network bandwidth to become scarce resource,recent researches have been focusing on traffic-aware VM placement.However,previous traffic-aware VM placement schemes treat the VM placement as a static process in that they do not take into account the impact of the current placement decision on the subsequent placement.In this paper,we thus propose a novel online traffic-aware VM placement scheme.Our scheme views VM placement as a context-sensitive dynamic process in that the decision of every step of the placement is made aiming at helping the subsequent steps of placement to reduce the required network bandwidth in the long run.In our scheme,we consider not only inter-VM traffic but also the bandwidth constraint of a physical machine(PM) when making a VM placement decision.To realize our objective,we put those VMs with close end time in the same or close proximity PMs so that when the VMs are terminated,one can make enough room for the future arrivals so as to not only minimize the number of active PMs but also reduce networking costs.We conduct extensive simulations to verify the superiority of our scheme in terms of networking costs and energy consumption.Simulation results show that our scheme outperforms improved-best-fit-decreasing(IBFD) scheme,a revised best-fit version that takes inter-VM traffic into account,by 30%–40% on network cost under various scenarios.Our scheme also promises 10%–25% power savings compared with IBFD.Liwei LIN David SLWEI Ruhui MA Jian LI Haibing GUAN 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,7:0
9Engineering and Application of Pillar[6]arene Functionalized Chiral Surface in Selective Adsorption of R-Adrenaline显示文摘Chiral properties of biological surface is of importance as they dominate interactions with biomolecules(such as proteins,nucleic acids,hormones)in a living system.Inspired by this phenomenon,we designed and constructed a L-/D-N-acetyl-cysteine-pillar[6]arene functionalized Si surface(L-/D-NACP surface)for studying the influence of superficial chirality on selective adsorption of R-adrenaline.The fabricated chiral L-/D-NACP surface with consistency in hydrophilia and elementary composition exhibited a strong mirror-symmetric circular dichroism signal.In the adsorption study,the contact-angle of R-adrenaline droplet on D-NACP surface was more hydrophilic from macroscopical view,and the size and quantity of R-adrenaline aggregation on D-NACP surface was larger than L-NACP surface,implying selective adsorption of R-adrenaline appeared on the D-NACP surface.The possible mechanism was due to the stronger host-guest interaction between D-NACP and R-adrenaline,which facilitated the selective adsorption.Besides,the D-NACP surface with good selectivity can be used for chiral separation of racemic adrenaline.The results enhance the under-standing of hormones adsorption affected by surface chirality,and may provide some helpful inspiration for practical application of chiral surface.Ming Cheng Wen Gong Mingxiang Lu Junkai Ma Zhiyan Lu Haibing Li 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,8:0
10Enhanced aging and thermal shock performance of Mn_(1.95-x)Co_(0.21)Ni_(0.84)Sr_(x)O_(4) NTC ceramics显示文摘The Mn_(1.95-x)Co_(0.21)Ni_(0.84)Sr_(x)O_(4)(MCNS)(0≤x≤0.15)based negative temperature coefficient(NTC)materials are prepared by co-precipitation method.The replacement of Mn by Sr plays a critical role in controlling the lattice parameter,relative density,microstructure,and electrical properties.The lattice parameter and relative density increase with the increase of Sr content.A small amount of Sr restrains the grain growth and increases the bulk density.Moreover,the room resistivityρ25,material constant B25/50,activation energy Ea,and temperature coefficientαvalues of MCNS ceramics are influenced by the Sr content and ranged in 1535.0–2053.6Ω·cm,3654–3709 K,0.3149–0.3197 eV,and(–4.173%)–(–4.111%),respectively.The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results explain the transformation of MCNS ceramics from n-to p-type semiconductors.The conduction could arise from the hopping polaron between Mn3+/Mn4+and Co^(2+)/Co^(3+) in the octahedral sites.The impedance data analysis also discusses the conduction mechanism of the MCNS ceramic,whereas grain resistance dominates the whole resistance of the samples.Furthermore,the aging coefficient(△R/R)of MCNS ceramics is found to be<0.2%,which indicates the stable distribution of cations in the spinel.Finally,the MCNS ceramics demonstrate excellent thermal durability with<1.3%of resistance shift after 100 thermal shock cycles.Haibing Li Huimin Zhang Slapley Thayil Aimin Chang Xu Sang Xiuhua Ma 2021Journal of Advanced Ceramics2021,10,2:0

13Oral delivery of polyester nanoparticles for brain-targeting: Challenges and opportunities显示文摘Efficient oral delivery of drugs treating brain diseases has long been a challenging topic faced by the drug delivery community. Fortunately, polyester nanoparticles offer certain solutions to this problem. This review article firstly describes the main obstacles faced by oral administered brain targeting, including:(1)instability in the gastrointestinal tract;(2) poor penetration of the intestinal mucosa and epithelium;(3)blood clearance;and(4) restriction by the BBB. Then the key factors influencing brain-targeting efficiency of orally administered polyester nanoparticles are also discussed, such as size, shape and surface properties. Finally, recent brain-targeting delivery strategies using oral polyester nanoparticles as carriers and their effects on brain drugs transport are reviewed, and the delivery ‘as a whole’ strategy of polyester nanoparticles will provide new insight for oral brain-targeting delivery. 15Recycle Demetallating Process for Hydrocarbonaceous Feedstocks显示文摘The development and research on the recycle demetallating process are introduced. It shows the recycle demetallating process is effective on removing metal elements in heavy crude oil, especially with regard to calcium, through commercial application in delayed coking unit. Finally, the ash content in petroleum coke can be decreased to less than 0.5%, which complies with the 1B coke standard. 16A Compilation of New and Existing Thermochronology Data Concerning the Lhasa Terrane Combined with a Geological Synthesis of the Area显示文摘The history and geodynamic mechanisms of Cenozoic exhumation and denudation of the Lhasa terrane(LT),southern Tibetan Plateau, remain poorly constrained. Most previous studies investigating the exhumation of the LT have relied on extrapolating interpretations based on a few well-studied but small areas, which inevitably introduce bias. Here,our compilation of new and published thermochronologic ages are plotted against latitude, longitude, and elevation, to illustrate the distribution of cooling ages across broad regions of the LT.
