Inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 (previously 2019-nCoV) infection by a highly potent pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor targeting its spike protein that harbors a high capacity to mediate membrane fusion显示文摘The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection in Wuhan,China has posed a serious threat to global public health. To develop specific anti-coronavirus therapeutics and prophylactics, the molecular mechanism that underlies viral infection must first be defined. Therefore,we herein established a SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein-mediated cell-cell fusion assay and found that SARS-CoV-2 showed a superior plasma membrane fusion capacity compared to that of SARS-CoV.We solved the X-ray crystal structure of six-helical bundle(6-HB)core of the HR1 and HR2 domains in the SARS-CoV-2 S protein S2 subunit revealing that several mutated amino acid residues in the HR1 domain may be associated with enhanced interactions with the HR2 domain. We previously developed a pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor,EK1,which targeted the HR!domain and could inhibit infection by divergent human coronaviruses tested, including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.Here we generated a series of lipopeptides derived from EK1 and found that EK1C4 was the most potent fusion inhibitor against SARS-CoV-2 S protein-mediated membrane fusion and pseudovirus infection with IC50s of 1.3 and 15.8 nM,about 241-and 149-fold more potent than the original EK1 peptide,respectively.EK1C4 was also highly effective against membrane fusion and infection of other human coronavirus pseudoviruses tested, including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV,as well as SARSr-CoVs,and potently inhibited the replication of 5 live human coronaviruses examined, including SARS-CoV-2.Intranasal application of EK1C4 before or after challenge with HCoV-OC43 protected mice from infection, suggesting that EK1C4 could be used for prevention and treatment of infection by the currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 and other emerging SARSr-CoVs.Shuai Xia Meiqin Liu Chao Wang Wei Xu Qiaoshuai Lan Siliang Feng Feifei Qi Linlin Bao Lanying Du Shuwen Liu Chuan Qin Fei Sun Zhengli Shi Yun Zhu Shibo Jiang Lu Lu 2020Cell Research2020,30,4:81

Discrete-time delayed standard neural network model and its applicationDiscrete-time delayed standard neural network model and its application显示文摘A novel neural network model, termed the discrete-time delayed standard neural network model (DDSNNM), and similar to the nominal model in linear robust control theory, is suggested to facilitate the stability analysis of discrete-time recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and to ease the synthesis of controllers for discrete-time nonlinear systems. The model is composed of a discrete-time linear dynamic system and a bounded static delayed (or non-delayed) nonlinear operator. By combining various Lyapunov functionals with the S-procedure, sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability of the DDSNNM are derived, which are formulated as linear or nonlinear matrix inequalities. Most discrete-time delayed or non-delayed RNNs, or discrete-time neural-network-based nonlinear control systems can be transformed into the DDSNNMs for stability analysis and controller synthesis in a unified way. Two application examples are given where the DDSNNMs are employed to analyze the stability of the discrete-time cellular neural networks (CNNs) and to synthesize the neuro-controllers for the discrete-time nonlinear systems, respectively. Through these examples, it is demonstrated that the DDSNNM not only makes the stability analysis of the RNNs much easier, but also provides a new approach to the synthesis of the controllers for the nonlinear systems.LIU Meiqin 2006Science in China(Series F)2006,49,2:14
Key residues of the receptor binding motif in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 that interact with ACE2 and neutralizing antibodies显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by the novel human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2,is currently a major threat to public health worldwide. The viral spike protein binds the host receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)via the receptor-binding domain(RBD),and thus is believed to be a major target to block viral entry. Both SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV share this mechanism. Here we functionally analyzed the key amino acid residues located within receptor binding motif of RBD that may interact with human ACE2 and available neutralizing antibodies. The in vivo experiments showed that immunization with either the SARS-CoV RBD or SARS-CoV-2 RBD was able to induce strong clade-specific neutralizing antibodies in mice;however, the cross-neutralizing activity was much weaker, indicating that there are distinct antigenic features in the RBDs of the two viruses. This finding was confirmed with the available neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2.It is worth noting that a newly developed SARS-CoV-2 human antibody,HA001,was able to neutralize SARS-CoV-2,but failed to recognize SARS-CoV.Moreover,the potential epitope residues of HA001 were identified as A475 and F486 in the SARS-CoV-2 RBD,representing new binding sites for neutralizing antibodies.Overall, our study has revealed the presence of different key epitopes between SARS-CoV and SARSCoV-2,which indicates the necessity to develop new prophylactic vaccine and antibody drugs for specific control of the COVID-19 pandemic although the available agents obtained from the SARS-CoV study are unneglectable.Chunyan Yi Xiaoyu Sun Jing Ye Longfei Ding Meiqin Liu Zhuo Yang Xiao Lu Yaguang Zhang Liyang Ma Wangpeng Gu Aidong Qu Jianqing Xu Zhengli Shi Zhiyang Ling Bing Sun 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6:13
A study of the mechanism of enhancing oil recovery using supercritical carbon dioxide microemulsions显示文摘Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO 2) microemulsion was formed by supercritical CO 2 , H 2 O, sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT, surfactant) and C 2 H 5 OH (co-surfactant) under pressures higher than 8 MPa at 45 oC. The fundamental characteristics of the scCO 2 microemulsion and the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) with Daqing oil were investigated with a high-pressure falling sphere viscometer, a high-pressure interfacial tension meter, a PVT cell and a slim tube test. The mechanism of the scCO 2 microemulsion for enhancing oil recovery is discussed. The results showed that the viscosity and density of the scCO 2 microemulsion were higher than those of the scCO 2 fluid at the same pressure and temperature. The results of interfacial tension and slim tube tests indicated that the MMP of the scCO 2 microemulsion and crude oil was lower than that of the scCO 2 and crude oil at 45 oC. It is the combined action of viscosity, density and MMP which made the oil recovery efficiency of the scCO 2 microemulsion higher than that of the scCO 2 fluid.Dong Zhaoxia Li Yi Lin Meiqin Li Mingyuan 2013Petroleum Science2013,10,1:12
Influence of surfactants used in surfactant-polymer flooding on the stability of Gudong crude oil emulsion显示文摘The influences of an anionic-nonionic composite surfactant and petroleum sulfonate, used in surfactant-polymer flooding in Shengli Gudong oilfield, East China, on the interfacial properties of Gudong crude model oil and synthetic formation water was studied by measuring interfacial tension, interfacial viscoelasticity and Zeta potential. The in? uence of the surfactants on the stability of Gudong water-in-oil (W/O) and oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions was evaluated by separating water from the W/O emulsion and residual oil in the aqueous phase of the O/W emulsion respectively. The results showed that the two kinds of surfactants, namely anionic-nonionic composite surfactant and petroleum sulfonate, are both able to decrease the interfacial tension between the oil phase and the aqueous phase and increase the surface potential of the oil droplets dispersed in the O/W emulsion, which can enhance the stability of the W/O and O/W crude oil emulsions. Compared with petroleum sulfonate, the anionic-nonionic composite surfactant is more interfacially active and able to enhance the strength of the interfacial film between oil and water, hence enhance the stability of the W/O and O/W emulsions more effectively.Dong Zhaoxia Lin Meiqin Wang Hao Li Mingyuan 2010Petroleum Science2010,7,2:10

Dispersion polymerization of anionic polyacrylamide in an aqueous salt medium显示文摘Anionic polyacrylamide dispersions were prepared by dispersion polymerization in an aqueous salt medium, using acrylamide(AM) and acrylic acid(AA) as monomers and anionic polyelectrolytes as stabilizer. Effects of salt concentration, and molecular weight and concentration of stabilizers on the stability of the dispersions were investigated using a HAAKE rheometer and optical microscopy. The results showed that stable anionic polyacrylamide dispersions, consisting of smooth, spherical, polydisperse particles, could be obtained under the conditions of salt concentration ranging from 26 wt% to 30 wt%, concentration of stabilizers from 1.2 wt% to 1.8 wt%, and intrinsic viscosity of stabilizers from 2.98 dL·g-1 to 3.74 dL·g-1 . The apparent viscosity of the stable dispersions changed very little with the shear rate, showing Newton fluid behavior.Lu Jiao Peng Bo Li Mingyuan Lin Meiqin Dong Zhaoxia 2010Petroleum Science2010,7,3:8
Progress on Sn-based thin-film anode materials for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Thin-film lithium-ion batteries are the most competitive power sources for various kinds of micro-electro-mechanical systems and have been extensively researched. The present paper reviews the recent progress on Sn-based thin-film anode materials, with particular emphasis on the preparation and performances of pure Sn,Sn-based alloy, and Sn-based oxide thin films. From this survey, several conclusions can be drawn concerning the properties of Sn-based thin-film anodes.Pure Sn thin films deliver high reversible capacity but very poor cyclability due to the huge volume changes that accompany lithium insertion/extraction.The cycle performance of Sn-based intermetallic thin films can be enhanced at the expense of their capacities by alloying with inactive transition metals. In contrast to anodes in which Sn is alloyed with inactive transition metals,Sn-based nanocomposite films deliver high capacity with enhanced cycle performance through the incorporation of active elements. In comparison with pure Sn anodes,Sn-based oxide thin films show greatly enhanced cyclability due to the in situ formation of Sn nanodispersoids in an Li2O matrix, although there is quite a large initial irreversible capacity loss. For all of these anodes, substantial improvements have been achieved by micro-nanostructure tuning of the active materials.Based on the progress that has already been made on the relationship between the properties and microstructures of Sn-based thin-film anodes,it is believed that manipulating the multi-phase and multi-scale structures offers an important means of further improving the capacity and cyclability of Sn-based alloy thin-film anodes.HU RenZong LIU Hui ZENG MeiQin LIU JiangWen ZHU Min 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,32:8
Preliminary analysis on the source properties and seismogenic structure of the 2017 M_s7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake显示文摘At GMT time 13:19, August 8, 2017, an Ms7.0 earthquake struck the Jiuzhaigou region in Sichuan Province, China, causing severe damages and casualties. To investigate the source properties, seismogenic structures, and seismic hazards, we systematically analyzed the tectonic environment, crustal velocity structure in the source region, source parameters and rupture process, Coulomb failure stress changes, and 3-D features of the rupture plane of the Jiuzhaigou earthquake. Our results indicate the following:(1) The Jiuzhaigou earthquake occurred on an unmarked fault belonging to the transition zone of the east Kunlun fault system and is located northwest of the Huya fault.(2) Both the mainshock and aftershock rupture zones are located in a region where crustal seismic velocity changes dramatically. Southeast to the source region, shear wave velocity at the middle to lower crust is significantly low, but it rapidly increases northeastward and lies close to the background velocity across the rupture fault.(3) The aftershock zone is narrow and distributes along the northwest-southeast trend, and most aftershocks occur within a depth range of 5–20 km.(4) The focal mechanism of the Jiuzhaigou earthquake indicates a left-lateral strike-slip fault, with strike, dip, and rake angles of 152°, 74° and 8°, respectively. The hypocenter depth measures 20 km, whereas the centroid depth is about 6 km. The co-seismic rupture mainly concentrates at depths of 3–13 km, with a moment magnitude(M_w) of 6.5.(5) The co-seismic rupture also strengthens the Coulomb failure stress at the two ends of the rupture fault and the east segment of the Tazang fault. Aftershocks relocation results together with geological surveys indicate that the causative fault is a near vertical fault with notable spatial variations: dip angle varies within 66°–89° from northwest to southeast and the average dip angle measures ~84°. The results of this work are of fundamental importance for further studies on the source characteristics, tectonic environment, and seismic hazard evaluation of the Jiuzhaigou earthquake.Zujun XIE Yong ZHENG Huajian YAO Lihua FANG Yong ZHANG Chengli LIU Maomao WANG Bin SHAN Huiping ZHANG Junjie REN Lingyun JI Meiqin SONG 2018Science China Earth Sciences2018,61,3:8
Two-fluid modeling of Geldart A particles in gas-solid micro-fluidized beds显示文摘The fluidizadon behavior of Geldart A particles in a gas-solid micro-fluidized bed was investigated by Eulerian-Eulerian numerical simulation. The commonly used Gidaspow drag model was tested first. The simulation showed that the predicted minimum bubbling velocities were significantly lower than the experimental data even when an extremely fine grid size(of approximately one particle diameter) was used. The modified Gibilaro drag model was therefore tested next. The predicted minimum bubbling velocity and bed voidage were in reasonable agreement with the experimental data available in literature. The experimentally observed regime transition phenomena from bubbling to slugging were also reproduced successfully in the simulations.Parametric studies indicated that the solid-wall boundary conditions had a significant impact on the predicted gas and solid flow behavior.Xiaoxing Liu Chuanqiang Zhu Shujun Geng Meiqin Yao Jinhui Zhan Guangwen Xu 2015Particuology2015,13,4:8
Influence of polymers on the stability of Gudao crude oil emulsions显示文摘The influence of different types and concentrations of polymers on the stability of Gudao crude oil emulsion was investigated by measuring the volume of water separated from the emulsions and the interfacial shear viscosity of the oil/water interfacial film.Experimental results indicate that the simulated water-in-oil emulsion with 40 mg/L of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM)3530S could be easily broken by adding demulsifier C and was readily separated into two layers. However, HPAM AX-74H and hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymer(HAP)could stabilize the crude oil emulsion. With increasing concentration of AX-74H and HAP,crude oil emulsions became more stable.Water droplets were loosely packed in the water-in model oil emulsion containing HPAM 3530S, but water droplets were smaller and more closely packed in the emulsion containing AX-74H or HAP.The polymers could be adsorbed on the oil/water interface, thereby increasing the strength of the interfacial film and enhancing the emulsion stability.Lin Meiqin Zhang Chunling Zong Hua Li Mingyuan Fang Hongbo Guo Jixiang 2008Petroleum Science2008,5,2:6
Umbilical cord blood mercury levels in China显示文摘Mercury (Hg) is a well-known neurotoxicant. Hg exposure at high levels can harm individuals of all ages. Even low level exposure to Hg can damage the brain of fetuses and young children, and affect their central nervous system and cognitive development. The aims of our study were to measure total Hg levels in infant umbilical cord blood and to investigate the risk factors associated with total Hg cord blood levels in various cities in China. Our goal was to provide clues for the prevention of Hg exposure in utero. The results indicated that the average cord blood mercury levels (CBMLs) were (1.81 ± 1.93) μg/L, which were lower than those found in most previous studies. The concentrations also differed according to geographic region. The CBMLs were not only associated with family economic and living conditions, but also with diet in pregnant women, especially the intake of marine fish, shellfish, poultry, formula milk and fruits.Meiqin Wu Chonghuai Yan Jian Xu Wei Wu Hui Li Xin Zhou 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,2:6
Latent fingerprint enhancement on conductive substrates using electrodeposition of copper显示文摘We presented a novel method for the development of a latent fingerprint by selective electrodeposition of a copper thin film from sulfate solution onto the conductive substrate between fingerprint ridges to generate a negative image of the fingerprint deposit. After optimizing the parameters(deposition time, deposition potential, and copper concentration), the preferential electrodeposition of copper films allowed latent fingerprints on six kinds of conductive surfaces(indium/tin oxide-coated glass, silver sheet, platinum sheet, gold sheet, copper sheet, and a stainless steel coin) to be successfully developed with high resolution. In addition, this technique could also be exploited to visualize latent fingerprints on rough and dirty surfaces. The quality of the developed fingerprints was estimated visually and the morphology of the copper film was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy.Meiqin Zhang Xi Yu Gang Qin Yu Zhu Meiling Wang Qianhui Wei Yang Zhang Xueji Zhang 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,7:5
Rheological Properties of Hydrophobically Associating Polyacrylamide Solution显示文摘A temperature-resistant, salt-tolerant polyacrylamide, hydrophobically associating polymer (HAP), was synthesized in the State Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil Processing. The rheological behavior of HAP solution was investigated by means of flow experiments in porous media and by using a HAAKE RS600 rheometer. The results of Nuclepore membrane filtration showed that filtration time increased sharply when the critical association concentration was reached. Shear rate had a greater impact on viscosity and shear stress with increasing HAP concentration. The HAP solution with a concentration of 100 mg/L (salinity 32,868 mg/L) exhibited negative thixotropy. However, at the same salinity the HAP solution showed thixotropy and its viscosity became greater when the polymer concentration increased to 1,500 mg/L. The flow experiments in cemented core samples indicated that the resistance factor and residual resistance factor of the HAP solution were 31.8 and 12 when polymer concentration and salinity were 1,500 mg/L, 32,868 mg/L at 85℃ respectively, which is favorable for flooding application. Such factors of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide 3530S were merely 3.14 and 1.71, so it could not be applied to polymer flooding in the oilfield with high temperature and high salinity.Ren Kun Wang Jinlan Lin Meiqin Xu Chunming 2006Petroleum Science2006,3,2:5
Long non-coding RNA LINC-PINT attenuates paclitaxel resistance in triple-negative breast cancer cells via targeting the RNA-binding protein NONO显示文摘The treatment of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)relies largely on chemotherapies. However,it is frequent that TNBC patients develop resistance to the chemotherapy drugs.Generation of drug-resistant cell lines facilitates the identification of drug resistance. Here,we established two paclitaxel(PTX)-resistant TNBC cancer cell lines using an intermittent and stepwise method and found that long non-coding RNA long intergenic non-protein-coding RNA p53-induced transcript(LINC-PINT)was significantly decreased in PTX-resistant cancer cells.Ectopic expression of LINC-PINT sensitized both PTX-resistant TNBC and wild-type TNBC to PTX.Moreover,RNA immunoprecipitation showed that LINC-PINT bound to RNA-binding protein NONO.Overexpression of LINC-PINT resulted in the degradation of NONO in a proteasome-dependent manner and vice versa.Knockdown of NONO with siRNA sensitized TNBC to PTX.We further analyzed the expression level of LINC-PINT and NONO in patient samples via online database and found that LINC-PINT and NONO may function antagonistically in all types of breast cancers.Taken together, our data illustrated a tumor suppressor role of LINC-PINT in sensitizing TNBC to chemotherapies via destabilizing NONO.Jinghua Chen Meiqin Zhu Liqiu Zou Junxian Xia Jiacheng Huang Quantong Deng Ruilian Xu 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,8:4

A top-down positioning scheme for underwater wireless sensor networks显示文摘In order to increase the localization coverage while keeping the localization error small in a unique network architecture in which there are not evenly distributed anchor nodes with great ability of communication or additional infrastructure,a Top-down Positioning Scheme(TPS)for underwater acoustic sensor networks is proposed.By defining node’s confidence reasonably,TPS insures the quality of the new reference nodes.TPS also refines the nodes which have just been positioned via the gradient method and helps non-localized nodes search for more reference nodes via the new scheme for 3D Euclidean distance estimation.By comparing the new scheme for 3D Euclidean distance estimation with the existing scheme, the new scheme is shown to have greater ability to estimate two-hop Euclidean distance in 3D space.Simulation results show that TPS which integrates node’s confidence defined reasonably, the gradient method, and the new scheme for 3D Euclidean distance estimation can increase the localization coverage ratio, while keeping the localization error small.ZHANG SenLin ZHANG Qiang LIU MeiQin FAN Zhen 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,3:4
Unified stabilizing controller synthesis approach for discrete-time intelligent systems with time delays by dynamic output feedback显示文摘A novel model, termed the standard neural network model (SNNM), is advanced to describe some delayed (or non-delayed) discrete-time intelligent systems com- posed of neural networks and Takagi and Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models. The SNNM is composed of a discrete-time linear dynamic system and a bounded static nonlinear operator. Based on the global asymptotic stability analysis of the SNNMs, linear and nonlinear dynamic output feedback controllers are designed for the SNNMs to stabilize the closed-loop systems, respectively. The control design equations are shown to be a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be easily solved by various convex optimization algorithms to determine the control signals. Most neural-network-based (or fuzzy) discrete-time intelligent systems with time delays or without time delays can be transformed into the SNNMs for controller synthesis in a unified way. Three application examples show that the SNNMs not only make controller synthesis of neural-network-based (or fuzzy) discrete-time intelligent systems much easier, but also provide a new approach to the synthesis of the controllers for the other type of nonlinear systems.LIU MeiQin 2007Science in China(Series F)2007,50,4:4
