1Using pectin to separate talc and molybdenite through the surface modification with Cu^(2+):Applications and mechanism显示文摘Organic depressants have low selectivity in separating molybdenite and talc because their metal sites lack activity for organics chemisorption.In this study,surface modification by copper sulfate was used to induce the differential adsorption of pectin onto molybdenite and talc surfaces for enhanced flotation separation.Contact-angle experiments,scanning electron microscopy,adsorption measurements,timeof-flight secondary-ion mass spectrometry,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses were conducted to reveal the interaction mechanism.Results illustrated that molybdenite and talc could not be separated using pectin alone,while molybdenite was selectively depressed after surface modification by copper sulfate and this effect was strengthened under alkaline conditions.Metal sites(Mg,Si and Mo)of talc and molybdenite themselves were unable to react with pectin,whereas Cu+would deposit and further function as active site for pectin chemisorption after surface modification.However,the quantity of deposited Cu sites dropped on talc surface and increased on molybdenite surface with increased pH,and the Mo atoms of molybdenite crystal were activated to take part in pectin chemisorption.Therefore,more pectin was adhered on molybdenite surface,which imparted molybdenite stronger wettability.Herein,surface-modification through metal ions can enable the differential adsorption of organic depressants and enhance the flotation separation of minerals.Changtao Wang Qilin Zhai Runqing Liu Meirong Wu Wei Sun Nianwen Jing Feifei Xie 2023International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,3:1

3The“terminal line”:a novel sign for the identification of distal mesorectum end during TME for rectal cancer显示文摘Background:Although the clinical importance of complete,intact total mesorectal excision(TME)is the widely accepted standard for decreasing local recurrence of rectal cancer,the residual mesorectum still represents a significant component of resection margin involvement.This study aimed to use a visible intraoperative sign to detect the distal mesorectal end to ensure complete inclusion of the mesorectum and avoid unnecessary over-dissection.Methods:The distal mesorectum end was investigated retrospectively through a review of 124 operative videos at the Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University(Fujian,China)and Cleveland Clinic(Ohio,USA)by two independent surgeons who were blinded to each other.Furthermore,28 cadavers and 44 post-operative specimens were prospectively examined by hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining and Masson’s staining to validate and confirm the findings of the retrospective part.Univariate and multivariate analyses were carried out to detect the independent factors that can affect the visualization of the distal mesorectal end.Results:The terminal line(TL)is the distal mesorectal end of the transabdominal and transanal TME(taTME)and appears as a remarkable pearly white fascial structure extending posteriorly from 2 to 10 o’clock.Histopathological examination revealed that the fascia propria of the rectum merges with the presacral fascia at the TL,beyond which the mesorectum ends,with no further downward extension.In the retrospective observation,the TL was seen in 56.6%of transabdominal TME and 56.0%of taTME operations.Surgical approach and tumor distance from the anal verge were the independent variables that directly influenced the detection of the TL(P=0.03 and P=0.01).Conclusion: The TL is a visible sign where the transabdominal TME should end and the taTME should begin. Recognitionof the mesorectal end may impact the certainty of complete mesorectum inclusion. 5Alternatingly stacked thin film electrodes-based compact aqueous hybrid electrochemical capacitors for hundred-volts AC line filtering显示文摘Filtering capacitor with compact configuration and a wide range of operating voltage has been attracting increasing attention for the smooth conversion of the electric signal in modern circuits.Lossless integration of capacitor units can be regarded as one of the efficient ways to achieve a wider voltage range,which has not yet been fully conquered due to the lack of rational designs of the electrode structure and integration technology.This study presents an alternatingly stacked assemble technology to conveniently fabricate compact aqueous hybrid integrated filtering capacitors on a large scale,in which a unit consists of rGO/MXene composite film as a negative electrode and PEDOT:PSS based film as a positive electrode.Benefiting from the synergistic effect of rGO and MXene components,and morphological characteristics of PEDOT:PSS,the capacitor unit exhibits outstanding AC line filtering with a large areal specific energy density of 1,015 μF V^(2)cm^(-2)(0.28 μW h cm^(-2)) at 120 Hz.After rational integration,the assembled capacitors present compact/lightweight configuration and lossless frequency response,as reflected by almost constant resistor-capacitor time constant of 0.2 ms and dissipation factor of 15% at120 Hz,identical to those of the single capacitor unit.Apart from standing alone steadily on a flower,a small volume(only 8.1 cm^(3)) of the integrated capacitor with 70 units connected in series achieves hundred-volts alternating current line filtering,which is superior to most reported filtering capacitors with sandwich configuration.This study provides insight into the fabrication and application of compact/ultralight filtering capacitors with lossless frequency response,and a wide range of operating voltage.Lixia Wang Lingyu Zhao Meirong Song Lixia Xie Xiaopeng Wang Xin Li Yanjie Huang Min Wei Qiu Jin Xianglong Meng Yang Zhao 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:0
6Transcriptomes of Litopenaeus vannamei reveal modulation of antioxidant system induced by dietary archaeal carotenoids显示文摘Oxidative stress induced by factors such as ammonia nitrogen has become a major issue in shrimp farming.The effects of carotenoids on the growth and antioxidant capability of Litopenaeus vannamei juveniles were investigated in this study using dietary archaeal carotenoids supplementation.For four weeks,shrimp were given diets containing 0 mg/kg(Ctrl)and 55.98 mg/kg(Car)archaeal carotenoids.Dietary archaeal carotenoids significantly enhanced the astaxanthin content in shrimp muscles and carapaces,as well as the superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activity(P<0.05).The malonaldehyde(MDA)content in Car group significantly decreased(P<0.05).The transcriptome analysis was conducted to determine the molecular processes in response to archaeal carotenoids supplementation.A total of 1536 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected,including 538 upregulated DEGs and 998 downregulated DEGs.GO functional enrichment analysis between Ctrl and Car indicated that 26 GO terms including extracellular region,metabolic process,and proteolysis were enriched.The KEGG pathway enrichment analysis revealed that the amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism,cysteine and methionine metabolism,glycine serine and threonine metabolism,and amino acid biosynthesis were enriched.Archaeal carotenoids influenced the expression of several important genes involved in reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation,Nrf2 signaling,and antioxidant enzymes.Seven DEGs were chosen to confirm the RNA-Seq data using qRT-PCR.The genes and pathways discovered in this work assist to elucidate the molecular processes through which archaeal carotenoid enhances L.vannamei antioxidative system.Wei XIE Guoru DU Honggang DENG Yingchao MA Meirong GAO Hu DUAN Sung YIK YEONG Liying SUI 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,5:0
