1Receiver function analysis for seismic structure of the crust and uppermost mantle in the Liupanshan area, China显示文摘A portable broadband seismic array was deployed from the northeast Tibetan Plateau to the southwest Ordos block, China. The seismic structure of the crust and uppermost mantle of the Liupanshan area is obtained using receiver function analysis of teleseismic body waves. The crustal thickness and Poisson's ratios are estimated by stacking the weighted amplitudes of receiver functions. Our results reveal complex seismic phases in the Liupanshan area, implying intense deformation at the boundary between the Tibetan Plateau and the Ordos block. The average crustal thickness is 51.5 km in the northeast Tibetan Plateau, 53.5 km in the Liupan Mountain and 50 km in the southwest Ordos block, resulting in a concave Moho beneath the Liupan Mountain. The Poisson's ratio of the Liupanshan area varies between 0.27-0.29, higher than the value of 0.25-0.26 to the east and west of the Liupan Mountain, suggesting partial melting in the lower crust. 3World’s first spaceflight on-orbit demonstration of a flexible solar array system based on shape memory polymer composites显示文摘With a 10%reversible compressive strain in more than 10 deformation cycles,the shape memory polymer composites(SMPCs)could be used for deployable structure and releasing mechanism.In this paper,without traditional electro-explosive devices or motors/controllers,the deployable SMPC flexible solar array system(SMPC-FSAS)is studied,developed,ground-based tested,and finally on-orbit validated.The epoxy-based SMPC is used for the rolling-out variable-stiffness beams as a structural frame as well as an actuator for the flexible blanket solar array.The releasing mechanism is primarily made of the cyanate-based SMPC,which has a high locking stiffness to withstand 50 g gravitational acceleration and a large unlocking displacement of 10 mm.The systematical mechanical and thermal qualification tests of the SMPC-FSAS flight hardware were performed,including sinusoidal sweeping vibration,shocking,acceleration,thermal equilibrium,thermal vacuum cycling,and thermal cycling test.The locking function of the SMPC releasing mechanisms was in normal when launching aboard the SJ20 Geostationary Satellite on 27 Dec.,2019.The SMPC-FSAS flight hardware successfully unlocked and deployed on 5 Jan.,2020 on geostationary orbit.The triggering signal of limit switches returned to ground at the 139 s upon heating,which indicated the successful unlocking function of SMPC releasing mechanisms.A pair of epoxy-based SMPC rolled variable-stiffness tubes,which clapped the flexible blanket solar array,slowly deployed and finally approached an approximate 100%shape recovery ratio within 60 s upon heating.The study and on-orbit successful validation of the SMPC-FSAS flight hardware could accelerate the related study and associated productions to be used for the next-generation releasing mechanisms as well as space deployable structures,such as new releasing mechanisms with low-shocking,testability and reusability,and ultra-large space deployable solar arrays.LAN Xin LIU LiWu ZHANG FengHua LIU ZhengXian WANG LinLin LI QiFeng PENG Fan HAO SiDa DAI WenXu WAN Xue TANG Yong WANG Mian HAO YanYan YANG Yang YANG Cheng LIU YanJu LENG JinSong 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,8:7

6Raman lasing and soliton mode-locking in lithium niobate microresonators显示文摘The recent advancement in lithium-niobite-on-insulator(LNOI)technology is opening up new opportunities in optoelectronics,as devices with better performance,lower power consumption and a smaller footprint can be realised due to the high optical confinement in the structures.The LNOI platform offers both largeχ(2)andχ(3)nonlinearities along with the power of dispersion engineering,enabling brand new nonlinear photonic devices and applications for the next generation of integrated photonic circuits.However,Raman scattering and its interaction with other nonlinear processes have not been extensively studied in dispersion-engineered LNOI nanodevices.In this work,we characterise the Raman radiation spectra in a monolithic lithium niobate(LN)microresonator via selective excitation of Raman-active phonon modes.The dominant mode for the Raman oscillation is observed in the backward direction for a continuous-wave pump threshold power of 20mW with a high differential quantum efficiency of 46%.We explore the effects of Raman scattering on Kerr optical frequency comb generation.We achieve mode-locked states in an X-cut LNOI chip through sufficient suppression of the Raman effect via cavity geometry control.Our analysis of the Raman effect provides guidance for the development of future chip-based photonic devices on the LNOI platform.Mengjie Yu Yoshitomo Okawachi Rebecca Cheng Cheng Wang Mian Zhang Alexander L.Gaeta Marko Loncar 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:5
7The telomere-to-telomere genome of Fragaria vesca reveals the genomic evolution of Fragaria and the origin of cultivated octoploid strawberry显示文摘Fragaria vesca,commonly known as wild or woodland strawberry,is the most widely distributed diploid Fragaria species and is native to Europe and Asia.Because of its small plant size,low heterozygosity,and relative ease of genetic transformation,F.vesca has been a model plant for fruit research since the publication of its Illumina-based genome in 2011.However,its genomic contribution to octoploid cultivated strawberry remains a long-standing question.Here,we de novo assembled and annotated a telomere-to-telomere,gap-free genome of F.vesca‘Hawaii 4’,with all seven chromosomes assembled into single contigs,providing the highest completeness and assembly quality to date.The gap-free genome is 220785082 bp in length and encodes 36173 protein-coding gene models,including 1153 newly annotated genes.All 14 telomeres and seven centromeres were annotated within the seven chromosomes.Among the three previously recognized wild diploid strawberry ancestors,F.vesca,F.iinumae,and F.viridis,phylogenomic analysis showed that F.vesca and F.viridis are the ancestors of the cultivated octoploid strawberry F.×ananassa,and F.vesca is its closest relative.Three subgenomes of F.×ananassa belong to the F.vesca group,and one is sister to F.viridis.We anticipate that this high-quality,telomere-to-telomere,gap-free F.vesca genome,combined with our phylogenomic inference of the origin of cultivated strawberry,will provide insight into the genomic evolution of Fragaria and facilitate strawberry genetics and molecular breeding.Yuhan Zhou Jinsong Xiong Ziqiang Shu Chao Dong Tingting Gu Pengchuan Sun Shuang He Mian Jiang Zhiqiang Xia Jiayu Xue Wasi Ullah Khan Fei Chen Zong-Ming Cheng 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,4:4
8Serum uric acid and risk of incident diabetes in middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults: prospective cohort study显示文摘The association between serum uric acid and the risk of incident diabetes in Chinese adults remains unknown.This study aimed to investigate this association in a community-dwelling population aged≥40 years in Shanghai,China.Oral glucose tole3rance test was conducted during baseline and follow-up visits.Relative risk regression was utilized to examine the associations between baseline gender-specific serum uric acid levels and incident diabetes risk.A total of 613(10.3%)incident diabetes cases were identified during the follow-up visit after 4.5 years.Fasting plasma glucose,postload glucose,and glycated hemoglobin A1c during the follow-up visit progressively increased across the sex-specific quartiles of serum uric acid(all Ps<0.05).The incidence rate of diabetes increased across the quartiles of serum uric acid(7.43%,8.77%,11.47%,and 13.43%).Multivariate adjusted regression analysis revealed that individuals in the highest quartile had 1.36-fold increased risk of diabetes compared with those in the lowest quartile of serum uric acid(odds ratio(95%confidence interval)=1.36(1.06−1.73)).Stratified analysis indicated that the association was only observed in women.Accordingly,serum uric acid was associated with the increased risk of incident diabetes among middle-aged and elderly Chinese women.Di Cheng Chunyan Hu Rui Du Hongyan Qi Lin Lin Xueyan Wu Lina Ma Kui Peng Mian Li Min Xu Yu Xu Yufang Bi Weiqing Wang Yuhong Chen Jieli Lu 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,6:3

11Numerical stress analysis for the multi-casing structure inside a wellbore in the formation using the boundary element method显示文摘A multi-casing structure in drilling engineering can be considered as an inhomogeneous body consisting of many different materials. The mechanical behavior of the inhomogeneous body in an infinite domain is very complicated. In this paper, a detailed expression about the fictitious stress method of the boundary element method(BEM) is demonstrated for the inhomogeneous body. Then the fictitious stress method is deployed to investigate the stresses for the multi-casing structure under non-uniform loading conditions and an irregular wellbore. Three examples of the multi-casing structure in the borehole imply the high effectiveness of BEM for complex geometries related to the borehole in an infinite formation.The effects of casing eccentricity and the interfacial gap on the stress field are discussed. The eccentric casing takes the potential yield when the eccentric orientation is along the direction of Sh. Under different eccentric orientations, the von Mises stress in the casing increases with increasing degree of eccentricity. The radial stress in the multi-casing structure is always continuous along the radius, but the circumferential stress is discontinuous at the interface. 20Predicted 10-year Cardiovascular Disease Risk and Its Association with Sleep Duration among Adults in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region,China显示文摘Objective The study aims to predict 10-year cardiovascular disease(CVD)risk and explore its association with sleep duration among Chinese urban adults.Methods We analyzed part of the baseline data of a cohort that recruited adults for health screening by cluster sampling.The simplified Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Framingham 10-year risk score(FRS)were used to measure sleep duration and CVD risk.Demographic characteristics,personal history of chronic diseases,lifestyle factors were collected using a questionnaire.Height,weight,total cholesterol(TC),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were also measured.Multiple logistic regression models were performed to explore the association of sleep duration with the predicted CVD risk.Results We included 31,135 participants(median age 44 years,53.02%males)free of CVD,cerebral stroke,and not taking lipid-lowering agents.Overall,14.05%,and 25.55%of participants were at medium and high predicted CVD risk,respectively.Short sleep was independently associated with increased odds of medium to high risk of predicted 10-year CVD among males(OR=1.10;95%CI:1.01–1.19)and increased odds of medium to high and high risk of predicted 10-year CVD among females(OR=1.23;95%CI:1.08–1.40;OR=1.27;95%CI:1.11–1.44).In contrast,long sleep had no association with cardiovascular risk.Conclusion A substantial number of adults free of CVD were at high 10-year CVD risk.Short sleep was associated with increased odds of predicted CVD risk.WANG Yu Xue ZHANG Li LI Chun Jun QI Xin FAN Ya Qi HE Jiang Shan GUO Pei HU Jia Lin CHEN Shuo NIU Yu Jie LIU Feng ZHANG Rong LI Qiang MA Shi Tao ZHANG Mian Zhi HONG Cheng Lin ZHANG Min Ying 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,10:1
