3Correlation between Helicobacter pylori-associated gastric diseases and colorectal neoplasia显示文摘AIM: To explore the correlation between Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori)-associated gastric diseases and colorectal neoplasia.METHODS: Patients included in this study underwent a colonoscopy and esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy(EGD) along with histopathological measurement between March 2012 and March 2015 at Qi-Lu Hospital of Shandong University, who also had results of H. pylori detection. A total of 233 cases were selected. Demographic data, H. pylori infection status(including results of rapid urease tests and gastric mucosa pathological examinations) and histopathological examination results of gastric and colorectal mucosa were gathered and analyzed. The statistical analysis focused on the prevalence of colorectal neoplasms among patients with various histopathological categories of the stomach. ORs and their 95%CI were calculated to describe the strengths of the associations.RESULTS: The incidence rates of colorectal adenoma without high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia(HGIEN)(OR = 2.400, 95%CI: 0.969-5.941), adenoma with HGIEN(5.333, 1.025-27.758) and adenocarcinoma(1.455, 0.382-5.543) were all higher for patients with H. pylori-associated gastritis than for those in the control group. The incidence rate of colorectal adenoma with HGIEN(3.218, 0.767-13.509) was higher in patients with intestinal metaplasia than in the control group, while the incidence rates of adenoma without HGIEN(0.874, 0.414-1.845) and adenocarcinoma(0.376, 0.096-1.470) were lower in the intestinal metaplasia group than in the control group. The incidence rate of colorectal adenoma without HGIEN(3.111, 1.248-7.753) was significantly higher in the gastric intraepithelial neoplasia group than in the control group, while the rates of adenoma with HGIEN(1.481, 0.138-15.941) and adenocarcinoma(2.020, 0.561-7.272) were higher in the gastric intraepithelial neoplasia group. 4Heteroclitins R-S: new dibenzocylooctadiene lignans from Kadsura heteroclita显示文摘AIM: To study the dibenzocylooctadiene lignans from the stems of Kadsura heteroclita. METHOD: Chromatographic separations of silica gel and semi-preparative HPLC were used. All of the structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis,including 2D-NMR and HR-MS techniques. RESULTS: Four dibenzocylooctadiene lignans were isolated from K. heteroclita. Their structures were identified as heteroclitin R(1), heteroclitin S(2), gonisin O(3), and schisanlignone A(4). 6Five-year results of refractive outcomes and visionrelated quality of life after SMILE for the correction of high myopia显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the long-term visual,refractive outcomes and vision-related quality of life after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the correction of high myopia.METHODS:Thirty patients(60 eyes)with high myopia who underwent SMILE more than 5y were selected as the SMILE group.Another 30 high myopia patients(60 eyes)who had worn corrective spectacles for more than 5y were selected as the control group.In SMILE group,the postoperative follow-up time were 3,6 mo,1 and 5y.Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),spherical equivalent(SE),and ocular axial length(AL)were analyzed.The Chinese version of the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25(CHI-NEI-VFQ-25)was used to evaluate the vision-related quality of life in the SMILE group and the control group.RESULTS:In SMILE group,the mean preoperative SE was-7.29±0.87 D(range-6.00 to-9.125 D).At 5-year follow up,the efficacy index and safety index of SMILE were 1.09±0.18 and 1.19±0.12,respectively.Five years postoperatively,44 eyes(73%)obtained a visual acuity of 20/20 or better.There were no eyes with CDVA loss of one or more Snellen lines.Forty-nine eyes(82%)and 57 eyes(95%)were within±0.50 and±1.00 D of attempted correction at 5-year follow-up,respectively.Forty-eight eyes(80%)had astigmatism<0.50 D at 5-year followup.The postoperative mean SE values at 3,6 mo,1,and 5y were 0.11±0.44,0.07±0.45,-0.02±0.41,and-0.15±0.46 D,respectively.No significant change was observed in the ocular AL from before operation to 5y postoperatively(26.08±0.96 mm vs 26.01±0.94 mm,P=0.068).Compared to the control group,the SMILE group showed a significantly higher total score on the CHI-NEI-VFQ-25(90.14 vs 81.43,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:In the present study,in a long-term follow-up we demonstrate that correcting high myopia with SMILE is safe,effective,and predictable.Vision-related quality of life after SMILE is better in the SMILE group than in the control group who wore corrective spectacles.Min Lang Kai-Wei Cao Ting Liu Ying Zhu Jian Ye 2021International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2021,14,9:4
7The genome of Magnolia biondii Pamp. provides insights into the evolution of Magnoliales and biosynthesis of terpenoids显示文摘Magnolia biondii Pamp.(Magnoliaceae,magnoliids)is a phylogenetically,economically,and medicinally important ornamental tree species widely grown and cultivated in the north-temperate regions of China.Determining the genome sequence of M.biondii would help resolve the phylogenetic uncertainty of magnoliids and improve the understanding of individual trait evolution within the Magnolia genus.We assembled a chromosome-level reference genome of M.biondii using~67,~175,and~154Gb of raw DNA sequences generated via Pacific Biosciences single-molecule real-time sequencing,10X Genomics Chromium,and Hi-C scaffolding strategies,respectively.The final genome assembly was~2.22Gb,with a contig N50 value of 269.11 kb and a BUSCO complete gene percentage of 91.90%.Approximately 89.17%of the genome was organized into 19 chromosomes,resulting in a scaffold N50 of 92.86Mb.The genome contained 47,547 protein-coding genes,accounting for 23.47%of the genome length,whereas 66.48%of the genome length consisted of repetitive elements.We confirmed a WGD event that occurred very close to the time of the split between the Magnoliales and Laurales.Functional enrichment of the Magnolia-specific and expanded gene families highlighted genes involved in the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites,plant–pathogen interactions,and responses to stimuli,which may improve the ecological fitness and biological adaptability of the lineage.Phylogenomic analyses revealed a sister relationship of magnoliids and Chloranthaceae,which are sister to a clade comprising monocots and eudicots.The genome sequence of M.biondii could lead to trait improvement,germplasm conservation,and evolutionary studies on the rapid radiation of early angiosperms.Shanshan Dong Min Liu Yang Liu Fei Chen Ting Yang Lu Chen Xingtan Zhang Xing Guo Dongming Fang Linzhou Li Tian Deng Zhangxiu Yao Xiaoan Lang Yiqing Gong Ernest Wu Yaling Wang Yamei Shen Xun Gong Huan Liu Shouzhou Zhang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:4

9Developing transgenic maize(Zea mays L.) with insect resistance and glyphosate tolerance by fusion gene transformation显示文摘Using linker peptide LP4/2A for multiple gene transformation is considered to be an effective method to stack or pyramid several traits in plants. Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt) cry gene and epsps(5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase) gene are two important genes for culturing pest-resistant and glyphosate-tolerant crops. We used linker peptide LP4/2A to connect the Bt cry1 Ah gene with the 2m G2-epsps gene and combined the wide-used man A gene as a selective marker to construct one coordinated expression vector called p2 EPUHLAGN. The expression vector was transferred into maize by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation, and 60 plants were obtained, 40% of which were positive transformants. Molecular detection demonstrated that the two genes in the fusion vector were expressed simultaneously and spliced correctly in translation processing; meanwhile bioassay detection proved the transgenic maize had preferable pest resistance and glyphosate tolerance. 10Electrochemical behavior and underpotential deposition of Sm on reactive electrodes(Al,Ni,Cu and Zn)in a LiCl-KCl melt显示文摘Sm extraction from a LiCl-KCl melt was carried out by forming alloys on various electrodes,including Al,Ni,Cu,and liquid Zn,and the electrochemical behaviors of the resultant metal products were investigated using different electrochemical techniques.While Sm metal deposition via the conventional two-step reaction process was not noted on the inert electrode,underpotential deposition was observed on the reactive electrodes because of the latter's depolarization effect.The depolarization effects of the reactive electrodes on Sm showed the order Zn>Al>Ni>Cu.Sm-M(M=Al,Ni,Cu,Zn)alloys were deposited by galvanostatic and potentiostatic electrolysis.The products were fully characterized by X-ray diffractometry(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)-energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS),and the stability of the obtained M-rich compounds was determined.Finally,the relationship between the electrode potential and type of Sm-M intermetallic compounds formed was assessed on the basis of the observed electrochemical properties and electrodeposits.Tai-qi Yin Lang Chen Yun Xue Yang-hai Zheng Xue-peng Wang Yong-de Yan Mi-lin Zhang Gui-ling Wang Fan Gao Min Qiu 2020International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2020,27,12:2

16Plastid and nuclear phylogenomic incongruences and biogeographic implications of Magnolia s.l.(Magnoliaceae)显示文摘Magnoliaceae,an assemblage of early diverged angiosperms,comprises two subfamilies,speciose Magnolioideae with approximately 300 species in varying numbers of genera and monogeneric Liriodendroideae with two species in Liriodendron L.This family occupies a pivotal phylogenetic position with important insights into the diversification of early angiosperms,and shows intercontinentally disjunct distribution patterns between eastern Asia and the Americas.Widespread morphological homogeneity and slow substitution rates in Magnolia L.s.l.resulted in poorly supported phylogenetic relationships based on morphology or molecular evidence,which hampers our understanding of the genus,temporal and spacial evolution.Here,based on the newly generated genome skimming data for 48 Magno/fa s.l.species,we produced robust/Vlagno/kj phylogenies using genome-wide markers from both plastid genomes and single nucleotide polymorphism data.Contrasting the plastid and nuclear phylogenies revealed extensive cytonuclear conflicts in both shallow and deep relationships.ABBA-BABA and PhyloNet analyses suggested hybridization occurred within sect.Yulania,and sect.Magnolia,which is in concordance with the ploidy level of the species in these two sections.Divergence time estimates and biogeographic reconstruction indicated that the timing of the three tropical Magnolia disjunctions coincided with the mid-Eocene cooling climate and/or late Eocene climate deterioration,and two temperate disjunctions occurred much later,possibly during the warm periods of the Miocene,hence supporting the boreotropical flora concept of Magnolia s.l.Shan-Shan Dong Ya-Ling Wang Nian-He Xia Yang Liu Min Liu Lian Lian Na Li Ling-Fei Li Xiao-An Lang Yi-Qing Gong Lu Chen Ernest Wu Shou-Zhou Zhang 2022Journal of Systematics and Evolution2022,60,1:1
17Programming of Regulatory T Cells In Situ for Nerve Regeneration and Long-Term Patency of Vascular Grafts显示文摘Rapid integration into the host tissue is critical for long-term patency after small diameter tissue engineering vascular grafts(sdTEVGs)transplantation.Neural recognition may be required for host integration and functionalization of the graft.However,immune rejection and inflammation hinder nerve regeneration of sdTEVGs.Here,a CRISPR/dCas9-nanocarrier was used for targeted programming of regulatory T cells(Treg cells)in situ to promote nerve regeneration of sdTEVGs by preventing excessive inflammation.Treg cells and(C-C chemokine receptor)CCR2+macrophage recruitment occurred after transplantation.The nanodelivery system upregulated ten eleven translocation(TET2)in Treg cells in vitro.Reprogrammed Treg cells upregulated anti-inflammatory cytokines and decreased the proportion of CCR2+macrophages.IL-6 concentrations decreased to the levels required for nerve regeneration.Implantation of CRISPR/dCas9 nanodelivery system-modified sdTEVGs in rats resulted in Treg cell editing,control of excessive inflammation,and promoted nerve regeneration.After 3 months,nerve regeneration was similar to that observed in normal blood vessels;good immune homeostasis,consistency of hemodynamics,and matrix regeneration were observed.Neural recognition promotes further integration of the graft into the host,with unobstructed blood vessels without intimal hyperplasia.Our findings provide new insights into vascular implant functionalization by the host.Yanhong Wang Fangchao Xue Yanzhao Li Lin Lin Yeqin Wang Shanlan Zhao Xingli Zhao Yong Liu Ju Tan Gang Li Haoran Xiao Juan Yan Hao Tian Min Liu Qiao Zhang Zhaojing Ba Lang He Wenyan Zhao Chuhong Zhu Wen Zeng 2022Research2022,,4:1
