1Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 2Human adenovirus(HAdV)infection in children with acute respiratory tract infections in Guangzhou,China,2010–2021:a molecular epidemiology study显示文摘Background Human adenovirus(HAdV)infection can cause a variety of diseases.It is a major pathogen of pediatric acute respiratory tract infections(ARIs)and can be life-threatening in younger children.We described the epidemiology and subtypes shifting of HAdV among children with ARI in Guangzhou,China.Methods We conducted a retrospective study of 161,079 children diagnosed with acute respiratory illness at the Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center between 2010 and 2021.HAdV specimens were detected by real-time PCR and the hexon gene was used for phylogenetic analysis.Results Before the COVID-19 outbreak in Guangzhou,the annual frequency of adenovirus infection detected during this period ranged from 3.92%to 13.58%,with an epidemic peak every four to fve years.HAdV demonstrated a clear seasonal distribution,with the lowest positivity in March and peaking during summer(July or August)every year.A signifcant increase in HAdV cases was recorded for 2018 and 2019,which coincided with a shift in the dominant HAdV subtype from HAdV-3 to HAdV-7.The latter was associated with a more severe disease compared to HAdV-3.The average mortality proportion for children infected with HAdV from 2016 to 2019 was 0.38%but increased to 20%in severe cases.After COVID-19 emerged,HAdV cases dropped to 2.68%,suggesting that non-pharmaceutical interventions probably reduced the transmission of HAdV in the community.Conclusion Our study provides the foundation for the understanding of the epidemiology of HAdV and its associated risks in children in Southern China.Yi Chen Tao Lin Chang‑Bing Wang Wan‑Li Liang Guang‑Wan Lian Mark Zanin Sook‑San Wong Xin‑Gui Tian Jia‑Yu Zhong Ying‑Ying Zhang Jia‑Hui Xie Ling‑Ling Zheng Fei‑Yan Chen Run Dang Ming‑Qi Zhao Yi‑Yu Yang Rong Zhou Bing Zhu 2022World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,8:5
3Design and Synthesis of a Highly Stable Six-hydrogen-bonded Serfassembly Yellowish Green Electroluminescent Molecular Duplex显示文摘This paper describes the design, synthesis and characterization of a hydrogen-bonded molecular duplex with 1,8-naphthalimide fluorescent pendants. The two oligoamide molecular strands, with complementary hydrogen bond sequences of DDADAA and AADADD, can form an ultra stable self-assembly duplex. Its molecular structure was confirmed by 1H NMR and ESI-MS, and its photoluminescence properties were determined. The resulting duplex exhibited a dramatically enhanced photoluminescence (PL) quantum efficiency of 63.7% compared to the corresponding 1,8-naphthalimide segment (32.4%), suggesting that the formation of the duplex with larger molecular weight could successfully inhibit the quenching of the fluorescent pendant. 4Improved One-pot Synthesis of 4,6-Dihydroxyisophthalic Acid and 2,3-Dihydroxyterephthalic Acid显示文摘An improved method for the large-scale preparation of 4,6-dihydroxyisophthalic acid and 2,3-dihydroxyterephthalic acid has been developed. Compared to the previous procedures, this new process requires much lower CO2 pressure of 0.3 Mpa and shorter reaction time, thus providing a convenient access for large-scale synthesis. 5Red Electroluminescence and Photoluminescence from Novel Binuclear Europium Complex with Squaric Acid Ligand显示文摘A novel binuclear europium b-diketone complex with squaric acid ligand was synthesized for the first time. Its structure was elucidated by IR, UV, and Elemental Analysis. Red light emitting diode (LED) was fabricated by using the novel europium complex as an emitting layer, tris(8-quinolinolate) aluminum (III) (Alq3) as an electron-transporting layer, N, N’-diphenyl-N, N’-(3-methylphenyl)-1,1’-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine (TPD) as a hole-transporting layer. A cell structure of indium-tin-oxide/TPD/Eu-complex/Alq3/Mg: Ag was employed. Red electroluminescence was observed at room temperature with dc bias voltage of 2 V in this cell. Red emission peaks at about 613 nm with maximum luminance of over 106 cd/m2. 10Synthesis of Coronene Using Microwave Irradiation显示文摘Using microwave irradiation, perylene was obtained from 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracar- boxylic dianhydride with copper powder in boiling quinoline. With the same method, 1,12- benzoperylene was synthesized from 1, 12-benzoperylene-1, 2-dicarboxylic anhydride, and coronene was prepared from coronene-1, 2- dicarboxylic anhydride with good yield. 11Red Mechanoluminescence and Photoluminescence from Novel Europium Complexes显示文摘Two new binuclear (europium and lanthanum) β-diketone complexes Eu0.9La0.1(TTA)3Phen and Eu0.5La0.5(TTA),Phen in which Phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, TTA is an anion of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) were synthesized for the first time. They showed intense photoluminescence (PL) and mechanoluminescence (ML), and had their maximum PL and ML spectra peaked at 6 13.5 nm with half bandwidth of 10 nm respectively. Their PL and ML intensity were obviously stronger than these from Eu(TTA)3Phen. 19Synthesis and Fluorescent Properties of New Binuclear Europiumβ-Diketone Chelates Eu_mY_(1-m)(TTA)_3phen as Red Electroluminescent Materials显示文摘A new type of binuclear europlum β-diketone chelates Eum Y1-m(TTA)3 phen (0≤m≤1) and the influence of the proportion of Y on fluorescence intensity of the Eu-complexes were studied. It was found the proportion of Y3+ could affect the fluorescence properties and the film formation seriously. only m≥0.5.Y3+ could increase the luminescent intensity and improve the film formalion. As a resull. three new binuclear europium β-diketone chelales consisted of Eu, Y1-m (TTA)3phen (m=0.9. 0.7 and 0.5) were designed and synthesized. Their structures were elucidated by IR. UV. DSC and Elementary Analysis. Their PL properties were studied. The results showed that the three binuclear europium β-diketone chelates had better PL properties and film formation than Eu(TYA)3phen. They could emit sharply red light, and fluorescenl wavelength of them was all at 613nm (half bandwidth 10nm).
