Landslide monitoring with high-resolution SAR data in the Three Gorges region显示文摘Employing the well-known D-InSAR technique,we investigated landslide monitoring in the Three Gorges region using TerraSAR-X data. The experiment demonstrates that using both the amplitude and differential phase allows us to identify the precise location, deformation and time range of occurrence of certain landslides. To overcome the atmospheric effect on D-InSAR results,a time-series analysis was also carried out.The observed nonlinear relationship between the deformation and water level suggests that reservoir water level fluctuation is one of the major causes of landslides, which is significant in terms of issuing landslide warnings. In addition, the comparison of TerraSAR-X and C-band ASAR data results indicates that TerraSAR-X data provide far more reasonable deformation measurements because of their high temporal and spatial resolutions.MingSheng Liao Jing Tang Teng Wang Timo Balz Lu Zhang 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,4:15
Molecular Cloning and Bioinformatics Analysis of TypeⅢSecretion System Effector Protein Va1686 Gene of Vibrio alginolyticus显示文摘In this study,Va1686 gene was cloned from Vibrio alginolyticus. The total length of the gene is 1 164 bp,and it could encode 387 amino acids. The physicochemical properties, protein structure, genetic evolutionary relationship and antigenic characteristics of the effect protein Va1686 of V. alginolyticus HY9901 type Ⅲ secretion system were studied and analyzed by bioinformatics methods and tools. The results showed that Va1686 is a stable hydrophilic and acidic protein without a transmembrane region and a signal peptide, and secondary structure to α-helix. The evolutionary analysis showed that V. alginolyticus HY9901 and V.harveyi were clustered together, which indicated that the genetic relationship between the two species was the closest. Va1686 contains a Fic superfamily conserved domain associated with cell division. Bioinformatics analysis showed that the B-cell preponderant epitopes of Va1686 might be localized in the regions of 48-49,82-85,125-126,150-153,185-186,236-237 and so on. The 3D structure model of Va1686 subunit was simulated by SWISS-MODEL software and it was found that the vop S of V. parahaemolyticus was similar and the similarity was 89. 46%. In this study, the feasibility of Va1686 as a common antigen of Vibrio was verified from the perspective of bioinformatics, which laid the foundation for the next step in vaccine development.Zhihao WU Mingjie FAN Jiaming LIAO Huanying PANG Chuanhao PAN Dawei SONG Mingsheng QIU Shuanghu CAI Jichang JIAN 2018Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,5:2
Progresses on SAR Remote Sensing of Tropical Forests:Forest Biomass Retrieval and Analysis of Changing Weather Conditions显示文摘This paper is intended to report on the progresses made during the Dragon-4 project Three and Four-Dimensional Topographic Measurement and Validation(ID:32278),sub-project Multi-baseline SAR Processing for 3 D/4 D Reconstruction(ID:322782).The work here reported focuses on two important aspects of SAR remote sensing of tropical forests, namely the retrieval of forest biomass and the assessment of effects due to changing weather conditions.Recent studies have shown that by using SAR tomography the backscattered power at 30 m layer above the ground is linearly correlated to the forest Above Ground Biomass(AGB).However, the two parameters that determine this linear relationship might vary for different tropical forest sites. For purpose of solving this problem,we investigate the possibility of using Li DAR derived AGB to help training the two parameters.Experimental results obtained by processing data from the Tropi SAR campaign support the feasibility of the proposed concept. This analysis is complemented by an assessment of the impact of changing weather conditions on tomographic imaging, for which we simulate BIOMASS repeat pass tomography using ground-based Tropi SCAT data with a revisit time of 3 days and rainy days included. The resulting backscattered power variation at 30 m is within 1.5 d B.For this forest site, this error is translated into an AGB error of about 50~80 t/hm^(2),which is 20%or less of forest AGB.Stefano TEBALDINI Xinwei YANG Yu BAI Mauro Mariotti D’ALESSANDRO Mingsheng LIAO Wen YANG 2021Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2021,4,1:2
Unsupervised Change Detection in Multitemporal SAR Images Using MRF Models显示文摘An unsupervised change-detection method that considers the spatial contextual information in a log-ratio difference image generated from multitemporal SAR images is proposed. A Markov random filed (MRF) model is particularly employed to exploit statistical spatial correlation of intensity levels among neighboring pixels. Under the assumption of the independency of pixels and mixed Gaussian distribution in the log-ratio difference image, a stochastic and iterative EM-MPM change-detection algorithm based on an MRF model is developed. The EM-MPM algorithm is based on a maximiser of posterior marginals (MPM) algorithm for image segmentation and an expectation-maximum (EM) algorithm for parameter estimation in a completely automatic way. The experiment results obtained on multitemporal ERS-2 SAR images show the effectiveness of the proposed method.JIANG Liming LIAO Mingsheng ZHANG Lu LIN Hui 2007Geo-Spatial Information Science2007,10,2:2
Taiyuan City Subsidence Observed with Persistent Scatterer InSAR显示文摘C- and X-bands Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) images acquired from February 2009 to September 2010 were processed with Persistent Scatterer Interferometry(PS-InSAR) algorithm to investigate spatial and temporal variations in deformation over Taiyuan City, China. The spatial pattern of subsidence and the magnitude of subsidence rate are similar in the velocity field maps achieved by the algorithm from these two data sets. It shows that there are four primary subsidence centers in Taiyuan City:Xiayuan, Wujiabao, Xiaodian, Sunjiazhai, which are near the groundwater extraction wells. The maximum subsidence rate is up to 70 mm/year at Sunjiazhai. The locus of maximum subsidence has shifted from its historical location in the north to the south. In view of the severe shortage of water resources and presented features of subsidence over Taiyuan City, we inferred that excessive pumping of groundwater was the dominant reason of land subsidence.TANG Wei LIAO Mingsheng 2014Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2014,19,6:2

Absolute geolocation accuracy of high-resolution spotlight TerraSAR-X imagery–validation in Wuhan显示文摘TerraSAR-X(TSX)can acquire high-resolution SAR images and due to its high orbit precision as well as its ability to acquire data from different off-nadir viewing angles, the high-precision stereo geolocation can be obtained. In this study,we investigate the absolute geolocation accuracy of TSX high-resolution images in Wuhan,China. We present a direct stereo SAR geolocation method and analyze the 2D and 3D geoposition accuracy of two corner reflectors. The sub-meter localization accuracy was achieved using only atmospheric correction information available in the TSX metadata.Jinghui Wang Timo Balz Mingsheng Liao 2016Geo-Spatial Information Science2016,19,4:1
Iteration convergence condition modeling for single spaceborne SAR image direct positioning显示文摘Single SAR image direct positioning is to determine the ground coordinate for each pixel in the SAR image assisted with a reference DEM.During this procedure,an iterative procedure is essentially needed to solve the uncertainty in elevation of each pixel in the SAR image. However, such an iterative procedure may suffer from the problem of divergence in shaded and serious layover areas. To investigate this problem,we performed a theoretical analysis on the convergence conditions that has not been intensively studied till now.The Range-Doppler(RD)model was simplified and then the general surface is degenerated into a planar surface.Mathematical deduction was then carried out to derive the convergence conditions and the impact factors for the convergence speed were evaluated. The theoretical findings were validated by experiments for both simulated and real scenarios.Yuting Dong Lu Zhang Mingsheng Liao 2016Geo-Spatial Information Science2016,19,4:1
Decomposing and mapping different scales of land subsidence over Shanghai with X-and C-Band SAR data stacks显示文摘Land subsidence can be observed with time-series of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(InSAR)data. However, existing approaches only reveal subsidence signals that are multi-scale mixed, which is not conducive to the systematic analysis of subsidence of different mechanisms.A deformation signal decomposition(DSD)method based on spectral analysis is used to decompose the deformation extracted by time-series InSAR into three classes of deformation signals. They refer to large-scale deformation related to geological settings,medium-scale deformation caused more by group excavation, and small-scale deformation along linear infrastructures.TerraSAR-X datasets for Shanghai spanning April 2013 to September 2020,and Sentinel-1A datasets spanning January 2016 to September 2020 are used in this study. The results were cross-verified between the TerraSAR-X and Sentinel-1A datasets, and validated against levelling measurements.Subsidence signals caused by different mechanisms were automatically decomposed, which facilitates a systematic analysis for targeted diagnosis of land subsidence signals.A detailed analysis was conducted jointly at three scales of surface displacement, geological conditions, major construction activities, and subsidence mechanisms. It indicated that construction activities were the leading cause of land subsidence, and suggests that local authorities that wish to mitigate surface subsidence may benefit from primarily considering this process.Ru Wang Mengshi Yang Tianliang Yang Jinxin Lin Mingsheng Liao 2022International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1:1
THE STUDY ON AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION OF INSAR IMAGES显示文摘Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) allows production of high resolution DEM and detection of small earth motions using multiple pass SAR data sets obtained by remote sensing satellite. But the whole process has not yet reached sufficient robustness to warrant automated DEM production as commonly produced by stereovision with optical images. The automatic algorithm for precision registration is one of the bottlenecks in InSAR data processing. In this paper, an automatic approach with multi-step image matching algorithm is presented. All procedures are automatically implemented. The experiment is carried out successfully with SIR-C/L-band InSAR data. The triangular piecewise rectification is also advanced in reducing local distortion between the images and processing the large scene image. The primary result has prospect in the precision registration for the repeat-track InSAR data and reveals the potential of the presented automatic strategy.Liao Mingsheng Zhang Zuxun Zhang Li Zhang Jianqing 1999Geo-Spatial Information Science1999,2,1:1

THE COHERENCE COEFFICIENT MAP AND RESIDUE GUIDED LEAST SQUARE PHASE UNWRAPPING ALGORITHM显示文摘The generation of high-resolution DEM from interferometric SAR has resulted in the need for accurate and efficient methods of 2-dimensional phase unwrapping. In this paper, we give a brief description of the mathematical base of phase unwrapping, and a detailed description of the unweighted and weighted least square phase unwrapping algorithm. Then our algorithm combining with the weighted least square phase unwrapping guided by the branch-cuts derived from Goldstein’ s algorithm and coherence coefficient map derived from the INSAR data is provided. In our experiment we write subroutines of the Goldstein’s branch-cut algorithm, unweighted and weighted least square phase unwrapping algorithm as well as our algorithm, and construct a small experiment system to resolve the phase unwrapping problem. Finally we test our algorithm on some INSAR data. The result shows that our approach can obtain unwrapped phase correctly and efficiently.Zhang Li Liao Mingsheng Zhang Zuxun Zhang Yong 1999Geo-Spatial Information Science1999,2,1:1
