Few-layered hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets stabilized Pt NPs for oxidation promoted adsorptive desulfurization of fuel oil显示文摘A few-layered hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets stabilized platinum nanoparticles(Pt/h-BNNS)is engineered for oxidation-promoted adsorptive desulfurization(OPADS)of fuel oil.It was found that the few-layered structure and the defective sites of h-BNNS not only are beneficial to the stabilization of Pt NPs but also favor the adsorption of aromatic sulfides.By employing Pt/h-BNNS with a Pt loading amount of 1.19 wt%as the active adsorbent and air as an oxidant,a 98.0%sulfur removal over dibenzothiophene(DBT)is achieved along with a total conversion of the DBT to the corresponding sulfones(DBTO_(2)).Detailed experiments show that the excellent desulfurization activity originates from the few-layered structure of h-BNNS and the high catalytic activity of Pt NPs.In addition, the OPADS system with Pt/h-BNNS as the active adsorbent shows remarkable stability in desulfurization performance with the existence of different interferents such as olefin, and aromatic hydrocarbons.Besides, the Pt/h-BNNS can be recycled 12 times without a significant decrease in desulfurization performance. Also,a process flow diagram is proposed for deep desulfurization of fuel oil and recovery of high value-added products, which would promote the industrial application of such OPADS strategy. | Peiwen Wu Xin Song Linlin Chen Lianwen He Yingcheng Wu Duanjian Tao Jing He Chang Deng Linjie Lu Yanhong Chao Mingqing Hua Wenshuai Zhu | 2024 | Green Energy & Environment2024,9,3: | 0
Recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus vector vaccine expressing the spike protein provides effective and lasting protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 infection is a global public health threat.Vaccines are considered amongst the most important tools to control the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. As expected, deaths from SARS-CoV-2 infection have dropped dramatically with widespread vaccination. However, there are concerns over the duration of vaccine-induced protection,as well as their effectiveness against emerging variants of concern. Here,we constructed a recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus vectored vaccine expressing the full-length spike of SARS-CoV-2(Ad C68-S).Rapid and high levels of humoral and cellular immune responses were observed after immunization of C57BL/6J mice with one or two doses of Ad C68-S.Notably,neutralizing antibodies were observed up to at least six months after vaccination, without substantial decline.Single or double doses Ad C68-S immunization resulted in lower viral loads in lungs of mice against SARS-CoV-2 challenge both in the short term(21 days)and long-term(6 months).Histopathological examination of Ad C68-S immunized mice lungs showed mild histological abnormalities after SARS-CoV-2 infection.Taken together, this study demonstrates the efficacy and durability of the Ad C68-S vaccine and constitutes a promising candidate for clinical evaluation. | Mingqing Lu Kunpeng Liu Yun Peng Zhe Ding Yingwen Li Alexander Tendu Xue Hu Ge Gao Weiwei Guo Hang Liu Juhong Rao Jiaxuan Zhao Miaoyu Chen Zhiming Yuan Gary Wong Chao Shan Yanfeng Yao Jiaming Lan | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,4: | 0
Stable Au nanoparticles confined in boron nitride shells for optimizing oxidative desulfurization显示文摘Supported gold(Au)nanocatalysts have long played an important role in numerous heterogeneous catalysis. However, the dominant difficulty of poor thermodynamic stability hampers its practical application.Herein,a core–shell structured Au nanocatalyst with Au nanoparticles(NPs)confined in boron nitride(BN)shells is proposed for enhanced thermodynamic stability. The two-dimensional porous structure of BN not only functions as a physical separator for the sintering resistance of Au NPs,but also provides a microchannel for catalytic reaction substrates.Besides, owing to the confinement effect,a strengthened interaction between well-designed Au NPs and the BN can be expected, which further boosts the stability and catalytic activity.Detailed experiments show that a proper BN shell thickness is important to maintain the balance between the sintering resistance and catalytic activity.A significantly boosted performance of 97.2%conversion in oxidative desulfurization(ODS)was obtained with a proper number of BN coating layers, outperforming the one with a thicker BN shell. Moreover, the recyclability of the prepared catalyst was investigated with no obvious decrease in catalytic performance after 10 runs, greatly higher than that without a BN shell, suggesting excellent durability. | Linjie Lu Jing He Peiwen Wu Yang Sun Mingqing Hua Peng Cui Wenshuai Zhu Huaming Li Zhichang Liu Chunming Xu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,10: | 0
Engineering the electronic and geometric structure of VO_(x)/BN@TiO_(2)heterostructure for efficient aerobic oxidative desulfurization显示文摘Particle size governs the electronic and geometric structure of metal nanoparticles(NPs),shaping their catalytic performances in heterogeneous catalysis. However, precisely controlling the size of active metal NPs and thereafter their catalytic activities remain an affordable challenge in ultra-deep oxidative desulfurization(ODS)field.Herein,a series of highly-efficient VO_(x)/boron nitride nanosheets(BNNS)@TiO_(2)heterostructures,therein,cetyltrimethylammonium bromide cationic surfactants serving as intercalation agent,BNNS and MXene as precursors, with various VO_(x)NP sizes were designed and controllably constructed by a facile intercalation confinement strategy. The properties and structures of the prepared catalysts were systematically characterized by different technical methods, and their catalytic activities were investigated for aerobic ODS of dibenzothiophene(DBT).The results show that the size of VO_(x)NPs and V^(5+)/V^(4+)play decisive roles in the catalytic aerobic ODS of VO_(x)/BNNS@TiO_(2)catalysts and that VO_(x)/BNNS@TiO_(2)-2 exhibits the highest ODS activity with 93.7%DBT conversion within 60 min under the reaction temperature of 130℃and oxygen flow rate of 200 mL·min-1,which is due to its optimal VO_(x)dispersion,excellent reducibility and abundant active species. Therefore, the finding here may contribute to the fundamental understanding of structure-activity in ultradeep ODS and inspire the advancement of highly-efficient catalyst. | Lu Zhang Jixing Liu Deqi Huang Wenfeng Zhang Linjie Lu Mingqing Hua Hui Liu Huifang Cheng Huaming Li Wenshuai Zhu | 2023 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,3: | 0
Identification of Bulbocodin D and C as novel STAT3 inhibitors and their anticancer activities in lung cancer cells显示文摘Cancer stands as one of the predominant causes of mortality globally, necessitating ongoing efforts to develop innovative therapeutics. Historically, natural products have been foundational in the quest for anticancer agents. Bulbocodin D (BD) and Bulbocodin C (BC), two bibenzyls derived from Pleione bulbocodioides (Franch.) Rolfe, have demonstrated notable in vitro anticancer activity. In human lung cancer A549 cells, the IC50s for BD and BC were 11.63 and 11.71 μmol·L^(−1), respectively. BD triggered apoptosis, as evidenced by an upsurge in Annexin V-positive cells and elevated protein expression of cleaved-PARP in cancer cells. Furthermore, BD and BC markedly inhibited the migratory and invasive potentials of A549 cells. The altered genes identified through RNA-sequencing analysis were integrated into the CMap dataset, suggesting BD’s role as a potential signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) inhibitor. SwissDock and MOE analyses further revealed that both BD and BC exhibited a commendable binding affinity with STAT3. Additionally, a surface plasmon resonance assay confirmed the direct binding affinity between these compounds and STAT3. Notably, treatment with either BD or BC led to a significant reduction in p-STAT3 (Tyr 705) protein levels, regardless of interleukin-6 stimulation in A549 cells. In addition, the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) was activated after BD or BC treatment. An enhancement in cancer cell mortality was observed upon combined treatment of BD and U0126, the MEK1/2 inhibitor. In conclusion, BD and BC emerge as promising novel STAT3 inhibitors with potential implications in cancer therapy. | HE Xinyu FU Jiarui LYU Wenyu HUANG Muyang MO Jianshan CHENG Yaxin XU Yulian ZHENG Lijun ZHANG Xiaolei QI Lu ZHANG Lele ZHENG Ying HUANG Mingqing NI Lin LU Jinjian | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,11: | 0
