Curative effect of heat-sensitive moxibustion on chronic persistent asthma: a multicenter randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare the curative effects of heat-sensitive moxibustion with conventional drugs on chronic persistent asthma and seek a valuable therapy to replaceWestern Medicine.METHODS:The participants in this multi-center,randomized,and controlled study were randomly divided into two groups:group A(n=144),treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion(50 sessions)and group B(n=144),treated with Seretide(salmeterol50μg/fluticasone 250μg,twice a day). The scores of asthma control test(ACT),forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow(PEF),and attack frequency were measured after 15,30,60,and 90 days of treatment.Patients followed up3 and 6 months after treatment.RESULTS:There was a significant difference(P=0.0002)in the ACT score and lung function between the two groups after 3 months of treatment and(P=0.000 03)during the follow-up visits. In addition,heat-sensitive moxibustion reduced attack frequency in the period from inclusion to the6-month follow-up visit.CONCLUSION:This study shows that heat-sensitive moxibustion may have a comparable curative effect toSeretide(salmeterol/fluticasone)on asthma.Rixin Chen Mingren Chen Jun Xiong Zhenhai Chi B0 Zhang Ning Tian Zhenhua Xu Tangfa Zhang Wanyao Li Wei Zhang Xiaofeng Rong Zhen Wang Gang Sun Baohe Ge Guoxiong Yu Nanchang Song 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:20
Efficacy of suspended moxibustion in stroke rats is associated with a change in tail temperature显示文摘Suspended moxibustion-produced heat can transfer from the acupoint to other sites of the body. The suspended moxibustion should be terminated when clinical propagated sensation disappears, because this implies that the quantity of moxibustion is sufficient. We wanted to investigate if this phenomenon also occurs in experimental animals. In the present study, a rat model of stroke was established and treated with suspended moxibustion at Dazhui (DU14) for 60 minutes. Results showed that the increase in tail temperature began at 15 minutes after suspended moxibustion and decreased gradually at 40 minutes. In addition, neurological function was significantly improved in stroke rats with tail temperature increase following suspended moxibustion, and this effect was associated with significantly reduced tumor necrosis factor α and interleukin 1β mRNA. However, there was no significant difference between 40-and 60-minute suspended moxibustion. The findings indicate that elevated tail temperature began to decrease at 40 minutes after suspended moxibustion, and further suspended moxibustion was not useful in the recovery of stroke rats.Rixin Chen Zhimai Lv Dangdang Huang Mingren Chen Fan Yi 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,12:11
Image formation of brain function in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis treated with moxibustion显示文摘OBJECTIVES:Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) technology was used to study changes to the resting state blood flow in the brains of patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA) before and after treatment with moxibustion at the acupoint of the left Dubi(ST 35) and to probe the cerebral mechanism underlying the effect of moxibustion.METHODS:The resting state brain function of 30 patients with left KOA was scanned with fMRI before and after treatment with moxibustion. The analytic methods of fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(fALFF) and regional homogeneity(ReHo) were used to observe changes in resting state brain function.RESULTS:The fALFF values of the right cerebrum,extra-nucleus,left cerebellum, left cerebrum and white matter of patients after moxibustion treatment were higher than before treatment, and the fALFF values of the precentral gyrus, frontal lobe and occipital lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).The ReHo values of the thalamus,extra-nucleus and parietal lobe of patients were much higher than those before moxibustion treatment, and the ReHo values of the right cerebrum, left cerebrum and frontal lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).CONCLUSION:The influence of moxibustion on obvious changes in brain regions basically conforms to the way that pain and warmth is transmitted in the body, and the activation of sensitive systems in the body may be objective evidence of channel transmission. The regulation of brain function by moxibustion is not in a single brain region but rather in a network of many brain regions.Hongwu Xie Fangming Xu Rixin Chen Tianyou Luo Mingren Chen Weidong Fang Fajin Lü Fei Wu Yune Song Jun Xiong 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2:7
Neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory reaction in rat models of focal cerebral ischemia following 40-minute suspended moxibustion显示文摘The treatment duration of heat-sensitive moxibustion(approximately 40 minutes on average) is longer than that of traditional suspended moxibustion. The present study investigated expression changes of three inflammatory and apoptosis-associated proteins(inducible nitric oxide synthase,cyclooxygenase-2 and caspase-3) in transient middle cerebral artery occlusion model rats following suspended moxibustion for 40 minutes,to explore the mechanisms underlying neuroprotective action of suspended moxibustion. The results indicated that suspended moxibustion at acupoint Dazhui(DU 14) for 40 minutes reduced the cortical expression of caspase-3,cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase proteins of transient middle cerebral artery occlusion model rats,as well as decreasing infarct volume and ameliorating the neurological deficit score.Outcomes with 40 minutes of moxibustion were superior to the outcomes after suspended moxibustion for 15 minutes.Rixin Chen Zhimai Lv Mingren Chen Xin An Dingyi Xie Jing Yi 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15:6

Efficacy of acupuncture therapy for post-stroke fatigue:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for post-stroke fatigue(PSF).METHODS:Eight online databases were searched to collect relevant trials of acupuncture for PSF published before April 2021.Meta-analysis was performed by using RevMan 5.4 software. The Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation system was used to assess the certainty of evidence.RESULTS:Four randomized controlled trials involving 289 PSF patients were identified and included in the systematic review. The results of the Meta-analysis revealed that acupuncture group was significantly better than routine treatment group in improving the effective rate[risk ratio(RR)=1.15,95%CI(1.01,1.33),P=0.04],reducing the FSS score[mean difference(MD)=-4.71,95%CI(-6.22,-3.20),P<0.00001]and FMA score[MD=15.60,95%CI(11.96,19.23),P<0.00001].Side effects of acupuncture were mild and rarely reported. The certainty of evidence of the outcomes based on the four trials was assessed as low.CONCLUSIONS:The existing evidence suggests acupuncture as an adjunct to routine treatment may benefit in managing fatigue in stroke patients.However,high-quality RCTs are needed to further confirm these findings.YOU Jianyu LI Haiyan XIE Dingyi CHEN Mingren CHEN Rixin 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1:1
Anti-inflammatory Effect of Heat-sensitive Moxibustion via the NF-κB Signaling Pathway on Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rats显示文摘Ischemic stroke is universally acknowledged as a common cause of long-term disability or even death. Suspended moxibustion, an indirect form of moxibustion, is when moxibustion is placed superficially over the skin without being in contact with it. Some researchers have used this method to treat stroke patients, but strong evidence of its therapeutic effectiveness is lacking. However, the effect of traditional suspended moxibustion has recently been improved with the development of heat-sensitive suspended moxibustion. Our previous studies showed that moxibustion for 35 min provided a more effective treatment strategy than moxibustion for 15 min, and moxibustion by 35 min with tail temperature increase had a better outcome than that without, however, the mechanism underlying the effect is not clear. In this study, we treated the stroke rats with moxibustion by 35min and divided them into non-heat sensitive moxibustion(NHSM) group and heat sensitive moxibustion (HSM) group according to difference in the tail temperature increase, then we compared the effect and investigated the mechanisms between NHSM and HSM. We found that HSM significantly decreased tail-flick latency, increased neurological function score, decreased infarct volume, reduced inflammatory cells, decreased the expression of inflammatory factor ICAM-1 and reduced the expression of NF-κB p65 and p-IKKα/β in rats with focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Our experimental findings revealed that HSM exerted its anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects from MCAO-induced injury by decreasing the expression of the NF-κB signaling pathway.Aijiao Xiaoa Yisheng Xiaoa Xin OuYang Lin He Mingren Chen 2018Journal of Advances in Medicine Science2018,1,3:0
Visible light-induced synthesis of biomass-derived quinoxaline by using Co phthalocyanine immobilized on pyridine-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)显示文摘Visible light-driven valorization of biomass has recently been a pioneering field for nitrogen-containing heterocyclics syntheses due to its sustainable features.Herein, various aromatic ring-doped g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheets(Ar-g-C_(3)N_(4);Ar=Py,Pm,Ph)were precisely designed to modulate their intrinsic electronic and band structure, which involves pyridine(Py),pyrimidine(Pm),and benzene(Ph)-doped g-C_(3)N_(4).Photocatalysts(CoPc/Ar-g-C_(3)N_(4)) of cobalt(II)phthalocyanine(CoPc)-fabricated Ar-g-C_(3)N_(4) were then developed for oxidative cyclization of furoin with 1,2-phenylenediamines for syntheses of various biomass-derived quinoxalines under visible-light irradiation. The catalytic activity(in terms of TOFs)of serial CoPc/Ar-g-C_(3)N_(4) samples increased with their transient photocurrents with CoPc/Py-g-C_(3)N_(4) as the most active one.For CoPc/Py-g-C_(3)N_(4),CoPc species functioned as both sensitizer and catalytic sites;while, doped Py led to a narrowed bandgap energy.Mechanism research further demonstrated that O_(2) was activated to superoxide radical(·O_(2)^(-)) by photoexcited high-level-energy electron(HLEE)transfer from Py-g-C_(3)N_(4) to CoPc for the subsequent aerobic oxidation.Mingren Jin Seyed Mohsen Sadeghzadeh Jinzhu Chen 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,7:0
