1A Novel Active Learning Method Using SVM for Text Classification显示文摘Support vector machines(SVMs) are a popular class of supervised learning algorithms, and are particularly applicable to large and high-dimensional classification problems. Like most machine learning methods for data classification and information retrieval, they require manually labeled data samples in the training stage. However, manual labeling is a time consuming and errorprone task. One possible solution to this issue is to exploit the large number of unlabeled samples that are easily accessible via the internet. This paper presents a novel active learning method for text categorization. The main objective of active learning is to reduce the labeling effort, without compromising the accuracy of classification, by intelligently selecting which samples should be labeled.The proposed method selects a batch of informative samples using the posterior probabilities provided by a set of multi-class SVM classifiers, and these samples are then manually labeled by an expert. 15Diversity of desert rangelands of Tunisia显示文摘Plants are important components of any rangeland.However,the importance of desert rangeland plant diversity has often been underestimated.It has been argued that desert rangelands of Tunisia in good ecological condition provide more services than those in poor ecological condition.This is because rangelands in good condition support a more diverse mixture of vegetation with many benefits,such as forage for livestock and medicinal plants.Nearly one-quarter of Tunisia,covering about 5.5 million hectares,are rangelands,of which 87% are located in the arid and desert areas(45% and 42%,respectively).Here,we provide a brief review of the floristic richness of desert rangelands of Tunisia.Approximately 135 species are specific to desert rangelands.The predominant families are Asteraceae,Poaceae,Brassicaceae,Chenopodiaceae,and Fabaceae.These represent approximately 50% of Tunisian desert flora.Mouldi Gamoun Azaiez Ouled Belgacem Mounir Louhaichi 2018Plant Diversity2018,40,5:0
16Influences of Marangoni convection and variable magnetic field on hybrid nanofluid thin-film flow past a stretching surface显示文摘Investigations on thin-film flow play a vital role in the field of optoelectronics and magnetic devices.Thin films are reasonably hard and thermally stable but quite fragile.The thermal stability of a thin film can be further improved by incorporating the effects of nanoparticles.In the current work,a stretchable surface is considered upon which hybrid nanofluid thin-film flow is taken into account.The idea of augmenting heat transmission by making use of a hybrid nanofluid is a focus of the current work.The flow is affected by variations in the viscous forces,along with viscous dissipation effects and Marangoni convection.A time-constrained magnetic field is applied in the normal direction to the flow system.The equations governing the flow system are shifted to a non-dimensional form by applying similarity variables.The homotopy analysis method is employed to find the solution to the resultant equations.It is noticed in this study that the flow characteristics decline with augmentation of magnetic,viscosity and unsteadiness parameters while they increase with enhanced values of thin-film parameters.Thermal characteristics are supported by increasing values of the Eckert number and the unsteadiness parameter and opposed by the viscosity parameter and Prandtl number.The numerical impact of different emerging parameters upon skin friction and the Nusselt number is calculated in tabular form.A comparison of current work with established results is carried out,with good agreement.Noor Wali Khan Arshad Khan Muhammad Usman Taza Gul Abir Mouldi Ameni Brahmia 2022Chinese Physics B2022,31,6:0
17Evaluation of rainwater harvesting and shrub establishment methods for sustainable watershed management in northern Afghanistan显示文摘Watershed rangelands in Northern Afghanistan provide various ecosystem services that support the local people's livelihoods,but they are now highly degraded essentially due to the continuous high grazing pressure and recurrent droughts.Effects of shrub establishment method enhanced by water harvesting techniques to rehabilitate degraded rangelands have not been well addressed.The main goal of this study was to evaluate the impact of direct seeding and transplanting of seedlings in combination with semi-circular bunds on growth,yield,and survival rate of four shrub species(Atriplex halimus,Atriplex nummularia,Atriplex lentiformis,andMaireana brevifolia)under semi-arid conditions of Sayyad village,Khulm watershed.Survival rate(%),plant height,width,and plant length(cm)and plant cover(%)were measured for each plant over five occasions.A non-destructive reference unit was used to estimate biomass production.The results showed that growth attributes and biomass production of shrubs were consistently greater in the transplanting compared to direct seeding.On average,the plant length,width,height,volume,cover,and biomass production of transplanted shrubs were greater than direct-seeded shrubs by 24.3%,8.6%,8.7%,121.5%,13.8% and 34.1%,respectively.Biomass production of transplanted seedlings was the highest for A.nummularia(1313.5 g DM/plant)and A.halimus(800 g DM/plant).There was a strong correlation between plant biomass production and plant volume(R^(2)_(Plant volume)=0.88)for the shrub A.nummularia,indicating that plant volume is a key variable for assessing biomass production for this species.Additionally,the survival rate of M.brevifolia was 100% in both planting methods,suggesting that based on better survival this halophytic plant has great potential when restoring degraded rangelands.Collectively,on the basis of better growth rates,yield,and survival,transplanting A.nummularia andA.halimus may enhance shrub establishment and contribute to the rehabilitation of sloping semi-arid degraded areas of Northern Afghanistan.LOUHAICHI Mounir HASSAN Sawsan GAMOUN Mouldi SAFI Navin ABDALLAH Mohamed A.B.
