| 1 | Infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma:A clinicopathologic study in a Chinese population显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether the clinicopathologic features of infantile hemangioendothelioma(IHE) of the liver in a Chinese population are similar to the features observed in other races.METHODS:The clinical data,radiological findings,histopathological changes and outcome of 12 cases of IHE diagnosed by the Department of Pathology,West China Hospital over the last 10 years were analyzed retrospectively.Immunohistochemical studies were carried out using antibodies against CD31,CD34,Factor Ⅷ,cytokeratin 8 and cytokeratin 18.RESULTS:The 12 patients were aged from fetal to 5 years(three males and nine females).The tumor was presented with different clinical manifestations,mainly as an asymptomatic,palpable,upper abdominal mass,except for the two fetuses who were detected antena-tally by ultrasound.In one patient,this presentation was accompanied by an initial severe pneumothorax.No symptoms of congestive heart failure were present and neither congenital abnormalities nor vascular tumors in the skin or other organs were found.Laboratory abnormalities included leukocytosis(40%),anemia(60%),thrombocytosis(60%),hyperbilirubinemia(16.7%),abnormal liver function(50%) and increased α-fetoprotein(80%).Based on radiological findings and gross specimens,the tumor presented as a solitary lesion or a multifocal space-occupying lesion.The tumor size ranged from 5.0 cm × 3.5 cm × 2.0 cm to 13.8 cm × 9.0 cm × 7.7 cm,and the 0.2-1.1 cm nodules were diffusely distributed within the multifocal tumor.Seven cases were surgically resected,three cases underwent biopsy and the two fetuses were aborted.Histologically,nine cases were classified as typeⅠ and three as type Ⅱ,presenting aggressive morphologic features,immature vessels,active mitosis and necrosis.An inflammatory component,predominantly eosinophilic granulocytes,sometimes obscured the nature of the tumor.Ten patients are alive after a follow-up of 1-9 years.Based on immunohistochemistry,the endothelial cells in all cases were positive for CD31,CD34 and polyclonal factor Ⅷ antigen,whereas the scattered hyperplasia bile ducts were positive for cytokeratin 8 and cytokeratin 18.CONCLUSION:The clinical manifestations of IHE are non-specific.There is no significant correlation between histological type and prognosis.The clinicopathologic features of IHE in Chinese patients may provide a clue to further evidence-based studies. | Zhang Zhang,Hui-Jiao Chen,Wen-Juan Yang,Hong Bu,Bing Wei,Xiao-Yu Long,Jing Fu,Rui Zhang,Yun-Bi Ni,Hong-Ying Zhang,Department of Pathology,West China Hospital,Sichuan University,Guoxuexiang 37,Chengdu 610041,Sichuan Province,China | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,36: | 16 |

| 5 | Effect of bubbles addition on teetered bed separation显示文摘To improve the separation efficiency of a conventional Teetered Bed Separator(TBS) in beneficiation of fine coal with a wide size range,an Aeration TBS(A-TBS) was proposed in this investigation.The bubbles were introduced to A-TBS by a self-priming micro-bubble generator.This study theoretically analyzed the effect of bubbles on the difference in hindered settling terminal velocity between different density particles,investigated the impact of superficial water velocity(V_(SW)) and superficial gas velocity(V_(Sg)) on bed fluidization,and compared the performance of the TBS and A-TBS in treating 1-0.25 mm size fraction particles.The results show that the expansion degree of fluidized bed which was formed by different size particles or has different initial height,is increased by the introduction of bubbles.Compared with the TBS,at the same level of clean coal ash content,the A-TBS shows an increase in the combustible recovery of clean coal,ash content of tailings,and practical separation density by 5.26%,6.56%,and 0.088 g/cm3 respectively,while it shows a decrease in the probable error(E_p) and V_(SW) by 0.031 and 3.51 mm/s,respectively.The addition of bubbles at a proper amount not only improves the separation performance of TBS,but also reduces the upward water velocity. | Ni Chao Xie Guangyuan Liu Bo Bu Xiangning Peng Yaoli Sha Jie | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,5: | 2 |

| 14 | Ordovician Proto-basin in South China and its Tectonic Implications: Evidence from the Detrital Zircon U-Pb Ages of the Ordovician in Central Hunan, China显示文摘Caledonian orogeny is another important tectonic event in South China Block after the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent.With a view to constrain the tectonic evolution and proto-basin in South China,this paper reports the geochemical and zircon U-Pb dating data of the Ordovician strata in central Hunan,South China.Geochemical features and paleocurrent directions suggest that the lower Ordovician deposited in a passive continental margin basin with a provenance of quartzose components and showing an affinity with the Yangtze Block.U-Pb age data for 260 detrital zircons from upper Ordovician identify three major age populations as:900-1200 Ma,1400-1800 Ma and 2400-2700 Ma.The detrital zircon age spectrum as well as the paleocurrent directions suggest that upper Ordovician deposited in a foreland basin and showing a close affinity with the Cathaysia Block.It is also suggest that the lower Ordovician continuously accepted the mineral from the Yangtze Block,whereas the provenance of the upper Ordovician sedimentary basin changed from the Yangtze Block to the Cathaysia Block.This change implies a tectonic movement,which caused the transformation of the proto-basin in the Hunan area in SCB from passive continental margin basin to foreland basin probably took place during late Ordovician.This fact also demonstrate that the Caledonian orogeny in South China Block began no later than 453 Ma,and a new crustal evolution model is proposed. | ZHANG Jibiao NI Jingbo LIU Yanxue ZHANG Heng BU Ling | 2020 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,6: | 0 |

| 19 | Synthesis,biochemical evaluation and computational simulations of new cytochrome bc1 complex inhibitors based on N-(4-aryloxyphenyl)phthalimides显示文摘The cytochrome bc_1 complex(the bc_1 complex or complex Ⅲ) is an attractive target for the discovery of numerous pharmaceuticals and pesticides. In order to identify new lead structures for this target, a new series of molecules, N-(4-aryloxyphenyl)phthalimides, were designed and synthesized in a straightforward manner. Our design strategy was to introduce a 4-aryloxyphenyl group, a fragment which exhibited promising bc_1 complex-inhibiting properties, into the aryl group of the valuable N-arylphthalimide backbone. Afterward, the biochemical evaluation of the newly synthesized compounds was carried out,and the results implied that several compounds demonstrated good activities against succinatecytochrome reductase(SCR, a mixture of mitochondrial complex Ⅱ and the bc_1 complex). Further studies confirmed that 3e', a representative compound in this paper, was identified as an inhibitor of the bc_1 complex.
