| 1 | Effects of wet-cupping on blood pressure in hypertensive patients:a randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND: Although cupping remains a popular treatment modality worldwide, its effi cacy for most diseases, including hypertension, has not been scientifi cally evaluated.OBJECTIVE: We aimed to determine the effi cacy of wet-cupping for high blood pressure, and the incidence of the procedure's side effects in the intervention group. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS: This is a randomized controlled trial conducted in the General Practice Department at King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between May 2013 and February 2014. There were two groups(40 participants each): intervention group undergoing wet-cupping(hijama) in addition to conventional hypertension treatment, and a control group undergoing only conventional hypertension treatment. Three wet-cupping sessions were performed every other day. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: The mean systolic and diastolic blood pressures were measured using a validated automatic sphygmomanometer. The follow-up period was 8 weeks. RESULTS: Wet-cupping provided an immediate reduction of systolic blood pressure. After 4 weeks of follow-up, the mean systolic blood pressure in the intervention group was 8.4 mm Hg less than in the control group(P = 0.046). After 8 weeks, there were no signif icant differences in blood pressures between the intervention and control groups. In this study, wet-cupping did not result in any serious side effects. CONCLUSION: Wet-cupping therapy is effective for reducing systolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients for up to 4 weeks, without serious side effects. | 2 | Printed microelectrode arrays on soft materials:from PDMS to hydrogels显示文摘Microelectrode arrays(MEAs)provide promising opportunities to study electrical signals in neuronal and cardiac cell networks,restore sensory function,or treat disorders of the nervous system.Nevertheless,most of the currently investigated devices rely on silicon or polymer materials,which neither physically mimic nor mechanically match the structure of living tissue,causing inflammatory response or loss of functionality.Here,we present a new method for developing soft MEAs as bioelectronic interfaces.The functional structures are directly deposited on PDMS-,agarose-,and gelatin-based substrates using ink-jet printing as a patterning tool.We demonstrate the versatility of this approach by printing high-resolution carbon MEAs on PDMS and hydrogels.The soft MEAs are used for in vitro extracellular recording of action potentials from cardiomyocyte-like HL-1 cells.Our results represent an important step toward the design of next-generation bioelectronic interfaces in a rapid prototyping approach. | Nouran Adly Sabrina Weidlich Silke Seyock Fabian Brings Alexey Yakushenko Andreas Offenhausser Bernhard Wolfrum | 2018 | npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1: | 3 |

| 6 | Comparison of serum cardiac troponin-Ⅰ and creatine kinase MB isoenzyme concentrations in asphyxiated neonates显示文摘Objective:To assess the correlation of signs of myocardial damage to serum cardiac troponin I(cTnI)and creatine kinase MB isoenzyme(CK-MB)concentrations.Methods:Blood samples were collected from 25 term asphyxiated neonates and 25 controls at 12 h of age by immunoassay.The asphyxiated neonates were followed up until discharge or death.Results:Asphyxiated neonates had significantly higher concentrations of cTnI and CK-MB than controls(P<0.001).Serum cTnI concentrations were significantly higher in asphyxiated neonates who developed hypotension,heart failure or those had low ejection fraction(P<0.01).Serum cTnI concentrations were significantly higher in asphyxiated who died than those who survived(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in serum CK-MB mass concentrations between asphyxiated neonates with and without these complications.Conclusion:Unlike CK-MB,serum cTnI concentrations are significantly higher in asphyxiated neonates who died or developed cardiac dysfunction. | Nouran F. | 7 | 埃及护士专业共享治理与职业动机现状的调查研究显示文摘目的旨在调查埃及护士专业共享治理及职业动机的现状,并探讨其相关性。方法采用横断面调查法,于2022年5—8月选取埃及亚历山大大学附属医院内科、外科和ICU工作的724名护士为研究对象。采用专业护理治理指数(Index of Professional Nursing Governance,IPNG)和职业动机量表进行调查。结果本组护士IPNG总分为(109.18±22.76)分(量表得分范围50~250分,50个条目),表明护士感知专业治理水平较低。其中获取信息维度的均分最高,为(2.81±0.76)分;其次是设定目标和解决冲突的能力维度,为(2.75±0.53)分;参与委员会组织维度均分最低为(1.65±0.37)分。职业动机的总分为(69.82±9.70)分(量表得分范围25~105分),表明护士职业动机处于中等水平,其中职业洞察力维度均分最高为(3.56±0.34)分,职业适应力维度均分最低为(3.07±0.49)分。男性、年龄在30岁以下、本科学历、在ICU工作的护士IPNG和职业动机量表总分较高(P<0.001)。相关分析结果显示,护士专业共享治理得分与职业动机得分呈正相关(r=0.239,P=0.003)。结论研究结果可以为护理管理者提供理论依据,重新规划管理模式,并制订相应策略,从而为护士提供更好的职业规划。 | Amal Diab Ghanem Atalla Loujain Saud Sharif Nouran Essam Katooa Faten Shawky Kandil Alaa Mahsoon Naglaa Abdelaziz Mahmoud Elseesy | 2023 | International Journal of Nursing Sciences2023,10,4: | 0 |
