| 1 | INFLUENCE OF PULSED MAGNETIC FIELD ON MICROSTRUC-TURES AND MACRO-SEGREGATION IN 2124 Al-ALLOY显示文摘The structures and macro-segregation of 2124 Al-alloy were studied when a pulsedmagnetic field (PMF) was applied during solidification. It is found through experi-ments that a remarkable change occurs in the solidification structures of 2124 Al-alloyunder pulsed magnetic field. The eutectic phase at grain boundaries change from thickcontinuous eutectic network to thin discontinuous one, and the distribution of soluteelements was also homogenized. | 2 | ANALYSIS ON THE BEHAVIOR OF PRECIPITATES IN ULTRA-THIN HOT STRIP OF PLAIN LOW CARBON STEEL PRODUCED BY COMPACT STRIP PRODUCTION显示文摘This paper investigated the mechanism of precipitation and its influence upon prop-erties of ultra-thin hot strips of low carbon steel produced by CSP techniques usingexperiment and thermodynamics theory. The experimental results show that thereare lots of fine and dispersive precipitates in microstructures. By analysis, most ofaluminum nitrides are in grains, while coexisted precipitates of MnS are along grainboundaries. Coexisted precipitates compose cation-vacancy type oxides such as Al2O3in the core, while MnS is at the fringe of surface. The precipitation behavior of AlNand MnS in the hot strip is studied by thermodynamic calculation. | 7 | Glass ceramic of high hardness and fracture toughness developed from iron-rich wastes显示文摘A study has been carried out on the feasibility of using high iron content wastes, generated during steel making, as a raw material for the production of glass ceramic. The iron-rich wastes were mixed and melted in different proportions with soda-lime glass cullet and sand. The devitrification of the parent glasses produced from the different mixtures was investigated using differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The mechanical properties of the glass-ceramic were assessed by hardness and indentation fracture toughness measurement. A glass ceramic with mixture of 60 wt pct iron-rich wastes, 25 wt pct sand, and 15 wt pct glass cullet exhibited the best combination of properties, namely, hardness 7.9 GPa and fracture toughness 3.75 MPa·m1/2, for the sake of containing magnetite in marked dendritic morphology. | 8 | Genetic diversity and its seasonal variation of Jiaozhou Bay phytoplankton determined by rbcL gene sequencing显示文摘Ribulose-1, 5-bisphosphate carboxynase/ oxygenase large subunit gene (rbcL) of Jiaozhou Bay phytoplankton was amplified from spring, summer and autumn surface seawater DNAs and cloned respectively. About 50 clones were randomly selected from each library and sequenced. If identical amino acid sequences are considered as the same operational taxonomy unit (OTU), 61 OTUs are identified according to inferred amino acid sequences, among them, 21 from spring seawater, 15 from summer seawater and 25 from autumn seawater. Shannon index calculated from OTU abundances reflects the genetic diversity of a community. The indexes of spring, summer and autumn surface seawater phytoplankton are 2.69, 2.44 and 2.76 respectively, indicating that phytoplankton genetic diversity of autumn seawater is the richest. Seasonal variation of phytoplankton community is significant; the community compositions of three seasons are almost completely different except for the two OTUs shared by summer and autumn. | 9 | Palaeoceanological significance of Holocene ostracean banks in Tianjin area显示文摘On the basis of the study of ostracean banks in Tianjin area, the present study recognized that the ostracean banks at Ninghe County in Tianjin area are well developed along the west coast of the Bohai Sea; they consist of thanato-coenose and taphocoenose from Crassistrea gigars and C. revularis. From the 14C datings it can be known that the banks had formed from early Middle-Holocene and continued up to over 2 ka BP (14C age). The top has different reliefs . Although there is an effect of spatial shift of estuary position, the top is only distributed in the range of-0. 50--2. 50 m(Huanghai elevation minus National elevation system). The banks cannot explain the sea-level fluctuation. The results are shown as follows: the effective elastic thickness of the plate and compensation depth in the southern Okinawa Trough is obviously greater than those in the middle Okinawa Trough.
