| 5 | Gene modulation associated with inhibition of liver regeneration in hepatitis B virus X transgenic mice显示文摘AIM: To analyze the modulation of gene expression profi le associated with inhibition of liver regeneration in hepatitis B X (HBx)-expressing transgenic mice. METHODS: Microarray technology was performed on liver tissue obtained from 4 control (LacZ) and 4 transgenic mice (HBx-LacZ),48 h after partial hepatectomy. The significance of the normalized log-ratios was assessed for each gene,using robust t-tests under an empirical Bayes approach. Microarray hybridization data was verified on selected genes by quantitative PCR. RESULTS: The comparison of gene expression patterns showed a consistent modulation of the expression of 26 genes,most of which are implicated in liver regeneration. Up-regulated genes included DNA repair proteins (Rad-52,MSH6) and transmembrane proteins (syndecan 4,tetraspanin),while down-regulated genes were connected to the regulation of transcription (histone deacetylase,Zfp90,MyoD1) and were involved in the cholesterol metabolic pathway and isoprenoid biosynthesis (farnesyl diphosphate synthase,Cyp7b1,geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase,SAA3). | 11 | Major and minor risk factors for postoperative abdominoplasty complications:A case series显示文摘Background: Although abdominoplasty is a safe and popular surgery, it is associated with a higher complication rate than other body contouring procedures. Therefore, identifying predictive factors of major and minor complications in patients who have undergone abdominoplasty is necessary to achieve better treatment outcomes after major weight loss.Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the medical records of patients who underwent abdominoplasty between January 2016 and December 2019. The inclusion criteria were patients aged >18 years who underwent abdominoplasty as the only surgical procedure and had adequate follow-up. Other patients were excluded from the study. Statistical evaluation was performed using SPSS 20.0;statistical significance was set at a P-value of<0.05.Results: The study included a total of 152 patients, of whom 146(96.1%) were women and 6(3.9%) were men.The mean patient age was 41.1 ± 9.8 years. Comorbidities were reported in 67 patients(44.07%). A direct proportional relationship was observed between the weight of the resected tissue and occurrence of general complications(P=0.01), and the presence of comorbidities increased the occurrence of minor(P=0.04) and major complications(P=0.01).Conclusion: Abdominoplasty is an aesthetic surgical plastic procedure, and its application has increased over the years. Despite its popularity, patient safety requires further attention due to the high risk of complications. | 13 | Energetic Demands and Nutritional Strategies of Elite Cross-Country Skiers During Tour de Ski: A Narrative Review显示文摘The Tour de Ski(TDS:6-9 sprint and distance races across 9-11 days)represents the most intense competition series of the cross-country(XC)ski season and is characterized by accumulated stress from consecutive days of high-intensity(~85%-160% VO_(2max))racing,travel,cold temperatures and low to moderate altitude(500-1500 m above sea level).Here,nutritional strategies play a key supportive role for optimized health,recovery and performance.This narrative review aims to provide an evidence-based discussion on the energetic demands of the TDS and recommendations for nutritional strate-gies to optimize health and performance of XC skiers during and following the TDS.We highlight several challenges that may arise during the TDS,including the following:poor energy availability(EA)due to decreased appetite or a pressure to maintain a low body weight,suboptimal carbohydrate availability due to a failure to replenish muscle glycogen stores across consecutive-day racing and increased risk of illness due to a combination of factors,including high-intensity racing,poor nutrition,sleep,travel and hygiene.We encourage XC skiers to maintain optimal overall EA across the~1.5-week period,ensure high daily carbohydrate availability,as well as the use of strategies to maintain a healthy immune system.In addition,we include practical guidelines on the management of nutrition support prior to and during the TDS.We recognize that many nutritional questions remain unanswered both in the context of elite XC ski racing and specifically for extreme demands like the TDS that should be addressed in future investigations. | Ida A.Heikura Oona Kettunen Ina Garthe Heidi Holmlund Silvana Bucher Sandbakk Maarit Valtonen Johanna K.Ihalainen | 2021 | Journal of Science in Sport and Exercise2021，3，3： | 0 |
