2Impact of hillslope vegetation restoration on gully erosion induced sediment yield显示文摘Facing the eco-environmental construction on the Loess Plateau, especially the vegeta-tion restoration in the semiarid areas, as well as the dam system engineering construction that is about to start, how can the vegetation restoration gain the optimum ecological benefits following the improvement of the preservation rates of trees and grass on the basis of guaranteeing water storage and silt trapping effects? What techniques should be taken to restore vegetation? These questions critical to environmental management on the Loess Plateau have to be settled urgently. According to the different macroscopic spatial distribution patterns of forest and grass on the Loess Plateau, this paper analyzes the macroscopic hillslope and gully management relationship in the middle Yellow River and weight of natural and human factors in erosion-induced sediment yield in the context of environmental background of the major silt producing areas. In light of the current status of the inte-grated management of small watersheds and soil and water conservation measure arrangement schemes of hillslopes and gullies on the Loess Plateau, this paper discusses the impact of vegetation restoration on gully erosion induced sediment yield and the effect of vegetation caused sediment re-duction. Studies indicate that there exists an erosional environmental background related to the natural and human activities in the sediment yield peak values of the sandy and coarse sandy areas in the middle Yellow River, sediment yield modulus is closely related to the synthetic effect of environ-mental elements, and the rainstorms, reclamation rate and forest coverage are the main factors af-fecting sediment yield modulus in the sandy and coarse sandy areas. The key to control soil erosion in the sandy and coarse sandy areas is the conversion of farmland into forestland and grassland, the reduction of reclamation rate and the increase of tree and grass vegetation. Small catchment man-agement should adhere to the principle of simultaneous control of hillslope and gully erosion and combination of biological measures with engineering measures. Engineering measures play an im-portant role in the hillslope vegetation restoration in the initial period. 3A Review on Rill Erosion Process and Its Influencing Factors显示文摘Rills are frequently observed on slope farmlands and rill erosion significantly contributes to sediment yields. This paper focuses on reviewing the various factors affecting rill erosion processes and the threshold conditions of rill initiation. Six factors, including rainfall, runoff, soil, topography, vegetation and tillage system, are discussed. Rill initiation and network are explored. Runoff erosivity and soil erodibility are recognized as two direct factors affecting rill erosion and other types of factors may have indirect influences on rill erosion through increasing or decreasing the effects of the direct factors. Certain conditions are necessary for rill initiation and the critical conditions are different with different factors. 4Integrated erosion control measures and environmental effects in rocky mountainous areas in northern China显示文摘Based on observations of runoff plots and field investigations of gully cross-sections, impacts of various soil and water conservation measures on runoff and sediment yield are analyzed for different rainfall conditions. The results show that antecedent rainfall and rainfall intensity are the main factors affecting the runoff and soil erosion processes. Rainfall events with antecedent rainfall can produce high runoff and sediment yield. Large differences in the characteristics of two rainfall events will result in greater variations of total runoff and sediment yield from the same runoff plot. Under the same soil control measure and rainfall condition, soil and water conservation measures can reduce the impacts of antecedent rainfall and rainfall intensity on runoff and soil erosion. Among various measures, level terrace seems to be the greatest for soil conservation purposes. Combining with engineering measures,Vegetation measures is also effective in controlling runoff and soil erosion. In the initial stage of vegetation enclosure measures, engineering measure is necessary to improve the environment for ecological recovery. Gully head protection can control gully erosion effectively, but the effectiveness of gully head protection would be reduced when rainfall intensity increases. 5Thresholds of geographic environmental elements in sediment yield of drainage basins显示文摘Threshold of environmental elements in drainage basin sediment yield refers to, under effect of climate, underlying surface and human activity, a turning point of abrupt changes in drainage sediment yield related to environmental element characteristics. Previous studies on threshold of sediment yield of relevant drainage basins were mainly concentrated on impact of natural zones with a few researches on impact of other environmental elements. Particularly studies on compound environmental element threshold in drainage basin sediment yield remain blank today. Studies indicate that sediment yield in drainage basins is affected by compound interactions and complex actions. 6Comparative Study on Rain Splash Erosion of Representative Soils in China显示文摘As the first event of soil erosion, rain splash erosion supplies materials for subsequent transportation and en-trainment. The Loess Plateau, the southern hilly region and the Northeast China are subject to serious soil and water loss; however, the characteristics of rain splash erosion in those regions are still unclear. The objectives of the study are to ana-lyze the characteristics of splash erosion on loess soil, red soil, purple soil and black soil, and to discuss the relationship between splash erosion and soil properties. Soil samples spatially distributed in the abovementioned regions were col-lected and underwent simulated rainfalls at a high intensity of 1.2mm/min, lasting for 5, 10, 15, and 20min, respectively. Rain splash and soil crust development were analyzed. It shows that black soil sample from Heilongjiang Province corre-sponds to the minimum splash erosion amount because it has high aggregate content, aggregate stability and organic mat-ter content. Loess soil sample from Inner Mongolia corresponds to the maximum splash erosion amount because it has high content of sand particles. Loess soil sample from Shanxi Province has relatively lower splash erosion amount be-cause it has high silt particle content and low aggregate stability easily to be disrupted under rainfalls with high intensity. Although aggregate contents of red soil and purple soil samples from Hubei and Guangdong provinces are high, the sta-bility is weak and prone to be disrupted, so the splash erosion amount is medium. Splash rate which fluctuates over time is observed because soil crust development follows a cycling processes of formation and disruption. 7SEDIMENT YIELD MODELING FOR SINGLE STORM EVENTS BASED ON HEAVY-DISCHARGE STAGE CHARACTERIZED BY STABLE SEDIMENT CONCENTRATION显示文摘The relation between runoff volume and sediment yield for individual events in a given watershed receives little attention compared to the relation between water discharge and sediment yield, though it may underlie the event-based sediment-yield model for large-size watershed. The data observed at 12 experimental subwatersheds in the Dalihe river watershed in hilly areas of Loess Plateau, North China, was selected to develop and validate the relation. The peak flow is often considered as an important factor affecting event sediment yield. However, in the study areas, sediment concentration remains relatively constant when water discharge exceeds a certain critical value, implying that the heavier flow is not accompanied with the higher sediment transport capacity. Hence, only the runoff volume factor was considered in the sediment-yield model. As both the total sediment and runoff discharge were largely produced during the heavy-discharge stage, and the sediment concentration was negligibly variable during this stage, a proportional function can be used to model the relation between event runoff volume and sediment yield for a given subwatershed. The applicability of this model at larger spatial scales was also discussed, and it was found that for the Yaoxinzhuang station at the Puhe River basin, which controls a drainage area of 2264km2, a directly proportional relation between event runoff volume and sediment yield may also exist.Mingguo ZHENG Qiangguo CAI Qinjuan CHENG 2007International Journal of Sediment Research2007,22,3:5
8AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF INFILTRATION AND EROSION UNDER SLOPE GRADIENTS AND VEGETAL COVERS显示文摘The effect of slope gradient and vegetal cover on soil infiltration and erosion were studied with field simulator. Results showed that infiltration decreases with slope gradients (especially for gradient less than 10°) and increases with vegetal covers, while soil erosion increases with slope gradients and decreases with vegetal covers. Fittlng the data by Philip’s infiltration equation it was found that in the equation, gravitational conductivity decreases with gradient and increases with vegetation, while diffusion decreases with vegetal cover and does not vary with slope gradient In the erosion process, the formation of a layer of thin water is crucial in dctermining the rainsplash and sheetwash. 9A GIS-BASED DISTRIBUTED SOIL EROSION MODEL:A CASE STUDY OF TYPICAL WATERSHED,SICHUAN BASIN显示文摘Based on the measuring data and Digital Elevation Data (DEM) in a typical watershed--Hemingguan Watershed, Nanbu County, Sichuan Province of China, a GIS-based distributed soil erosion model was developed particularly for the purple soil type. It takes 20 m × 20 m grid as calculating unit and operates at 10-minute time interval. The required input data to the model include DEM, soil, land use, and time-series of precipitation and evaporation loss. The model enables one to estimate runoff, erosion and sediment yield for each grid cell and route the flow along its flow path to the watershed outlet. Furthermore, the model is capable of calculating the total runoff; erosion and sediment yield for the entire watershed by recursion algorithm. The validation of the model demonstrated that it could quantitatively simulate the spatial distribution of hydrological variables in a watershed, such as runoff, vegetation entrapment, soil erosion, the degree of soil and water loss. Moreover, it can evaluate the effect of land use change on the runoff generation and soil erosion with an accuracy of 80% and 75% respectively. 10The impact toughness of a nitride-strengthened martensitic heat resistant steel显示文摘The nitride-strengthened martensitic heat resistant steel is precipitation strengthened only by nitrides.In the present work,the effect of nitride precipitation behavior on the impact toughness of an experimental steel was investigated.Nitrides could hardly be observed when the steel was tempered at 650℃.When the tempering temperature was increased to 700℃ and 750℃,a large amount of nitrides were observed in the matrix.It was surprising to reveal that the impact energy of the half-size samples greatly increased from several Joules to nearly a hundred Joules.The ductile-brittle transition temperature(DBTT) was also discovered to decrease from room temperature to 50℃ when the tempering temperature was increased from 650℃ to 750℃.The nitride precipitation with increasing tempering temperature was revealed to be responsible for the improved impact toughness.ZHANG WenFeng YAN Wei SHA Wei WANG Wei ZHOU QiangGuo SHAN YiYin YANG Ke 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,7:2

12RELATIONSHIP OF SEDIMENT PRODUCTION BETWEEN HILLSLOPE AND GULLY SLOPE IN A SMALL BASIN IN THE BILLY LOESS REGION, NORTH CHINA显示文摘In the hilly loess region, due to variation in geomorphological characteristics and to a lesser extent differences in soil characteristics, the relative significance of erosion processes and subprocesses varies with slope zone(upper hillslope, middle hillslope, lower hillslope, gully slope). Thus empirical relations established as well as parameters selected in these relations vary with slope zone. In addition, contributions of runoff and sediment from the hillslope have a significant effect on the gully slope. 13A review of the metal stud stiffness on the sound insulation of gypsum-board partitions显示文摘For the sound insulation of a double-panel partition,the stud between two leaves creates a vibration transmission path,which can often be more critical and more important in the mid-frequency range than the airborne path through the cavity.Owing to the fact that partitions with light-weight steel studs are commonly used in building construction,studies on the sound insulation effect of such studs have been conducted.Especially,a model,initiated by Gu and Wang(1983),has been widely studied during the past decades.In the model,the steel stud is considered as an elastic spring with its cross-section stiffness in the sound insulation index prediction of such a partition.Experimental results of different stud profiles have been reported from different testing laboratories and more information has been gained to understand the stiffness effect of the stud on the sound insulation of the double-leaf partitions.In this paper,the authors have given this subject a thorough review and have concluded that a critical problem needs further investigation on the determination of the stiffness of the connecting elements in the double-leaf partitions.GU Qiangguo WANG Jiqing 2019Chinese Journal of Acoustics2019,38,3:2
