1Dielectric Properties of Polytetrafluoroethylene/CaCu_3Ti_4O_(12) Composites显示文摘Polymer-based composite was investigated by embedding calcium copper titanate(CaCu_3Ti_4O_(12); CCTO) fillers into polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) matrix. The dielectric performances of the composite were investigated within the frequency range from 100 Hz to 1 MHz. It is indicated that dielectric permittivity(ε) and dielectric loss(tanδ) increase gradually as the filler content increases. Dielectric permittivity for the composite with 50 vol% CCTO filler loading is 33.5, approximately 16 times higher than that of pure PTFE(ε = 2.1) at 100 Hz. As the frequency increases, the dielectric loss decreases rapidly and reaches stability, and then remains low when the frequency rises to 1 MHz. The values for dielectric permittivity and dielectric loss in the microwave frequency(8-13 GHz) are lower than that in low frequency of 10 kHz for the composites because of different polarization modes. 18Safety and immunogenicity of a third dose of mRNA-1273 vaccine among cancer patients显示文摘Background:Compared to the general population,cancer patients are at higher risk of morbidity and mortality following SARS-CoV-2 infection.The immune response to a two-dose regimen ofmRNA vaccines in cancer patients is generally lower than in immunocompetent individuals.Booster doses may meaningfully augment immune response in this population.We conducted an observational study with the primary objective of determining the immunogenicity of vaccine dose three(100μg)of mRNA-1273 among cancer patients and a secondary objective of evaluating safety at 14 and 28 days.Methods:The mRNA-1273 vaccine was administered~7 to 9 months after administering two vaccine doses(i.e.,the primary series).Immune responses(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay[ELISA])were assessed 28 days post-dose three.Adverse events were collected at days 14(±5)and 28(+5)post-dose three.Fisher exact or X^(2)tests were used to compare SARS-CoV-2 antibody positivity rates,and paired t-tests were used to compare SARS-CoV-2 antibody geometric mean titers(GMTs)across different time intervals.Results:Among 284 adults diagnosed with solid tumors or hematologic malignancies,dose three of mRNA-1273 increased the percentage of patients seropositive for SARS-CoV-2 antibody from 81.7%pre-dose three to 94.4%28 days post-dose three.GMTs increased 19.0-fold(15.8-22.8).Patients with lymphoid cancers or solid tumors had the lowest and highest antibody titers post-dose three,respectively.Antibody responses after dose three were reduced among those who received anti-CD20 antibody treatment,had lower total lymphocyte counts and received anticancer therapy within 3 months.Among patients seronegative for SARS-CoV-2 antibody pre-dose three,69.2%seroconverted after dose three.A majority(70.4%)experienced mostly mild,transient adverse reactions within 14 days of dose three,whereas severe treatment-emergent events within 28 days were very rare(<2%).Conclusion:Dose three of the mRNA-1273 vaccine was well-tolerated and augmented SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity in cancer patients,especially those who did not seroconvert post-dose two or whose GMTs significantly waned post-dose two.Lymphoid cancer patients experienced lower humoral responses to dose three of the mRNA-1273 vaccine,suggesting that timely access to boosters is important for this population.Anna Giuliano Barbara Kuter Shari Pilon-Thomas Junmin Whiting Qianxing Mo Brett Leav Bradley Sirak Christopher Cubitt Christopher Dukes Kimberly Isaacs-Soriano Kayoko Kennedy Somedeb Ball Ning Dong Akriti Jain Patrick Hwu Jeffrey Lancet 2023Cancer Communications2023,43,7:0
19Analysis of interaction between dislocation and interface of aluminum matrix/second phase from electronic behavior显示文摘The inhibitory effect of the second phase on dislocation movement has long been deemed as a great con-tribution to the strengthening of alloys.We investigate the electronic behavior at theα-Al matrix/second phase interface to explore its inhibitory effect on dislocation movement.This work focuses on the dif-ficulty in dislocation movement on the interface ofα-Al/Al_(3)Sc,α-Al/θ’(Al_(2)Cu),andα-Al/T_(1)(Al_(2)CuLi)of aluminum-lithium-scandium alloy based on detailed transmission electron microscopy investigation and electron transport calculation.The more drastic the electron transport between two atoms at the inter-face,the more intense the interaction between them,corresponding to the larger difficulty in breaking and forming bonds between them during the movement process of the extra half plane of dislocation on the interface.The calculated difference in density of valence electrons and differential charge density atα-Al/second phase interface reveals that Al_(3)Sc is characterized by the largest resistance to dislocation movement compared toθ’(Al_(2)Cu)and T_(1)(Al_(2)CuLi).The large differential charge density between the in-terface of(100)Al_(3)Sc/(100)Al demonstrates the strong bonds betweenα-Al and Al_(3)Sc and the large difficulty for the extra half plane of dislocation to form or break bonds during the movement process atα-Al/Al_(3)Sc interface.The dislocation pile-up indicates a discernible hindering effect of theα-Al/Al_(3)Sc interface on dislocation movement.The hindering effect presented byα-Al/Al_(3)Sc interface is favorable for the tensile strength.Qianxing Yin Guoqing Chen Xi Shu Binggang Zhang Chun Li Zhibo Dong Jian Cao Rong An Yongxian Huang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,5:0
20Electron beam surface heating-diffusion bonding:An effective joining method for aluminum alloy metal-matrix composite with high SiC volume显示文摘As a novel method to reduce the temperature during electron beam welding,and to subsequently inhibit interfacial reaction between SiC and Al matrix,the electron beam surface heating-diffusion bonding is proposed for joining SiC particle reinforced aluminum alloy metal-matrix composite of 45 vol.%SiC/2024 Al.The defocused electron beam was used to heat the base metal surface,and the simultaneous pressure was applied to the butt surface to achieve bonding.The base metals were successfully joined by diffusion.The maximum temperature of the whole joint was effectively decreased to less than 650°C.The Gibbs free energy change of interfacial reaction was calculated,meaning a positive value reaching 218 kJ/mol and a consequently prominent inhibitory effect on the formation of brittle Al_(4)C_(3)that was proved by microstructural observation.The tensile strength for the bonded joint was increased by 35%compared to that for ordinary welded joint.When the TC4 layer was added,TiC strengthening particles were formed with the deficiency of Al_(4)C_(3),corresponding to the significantly increased tensile strength of 63%of base metal(154 MPa).Guoqing Chen Qianxing Yin Jian Cao Ge Zhang Gongbo Zhen Binggang Zhang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29:0
