| 2 | Atmospheric HULIS and its ability to mediate the reactive oxygen species (ROS): A review显示文摘Atmospheric humic-like substances(HULIS) are not only an unresolved mixture of macroorganic compounds but also powerful chelating agents in atmospheric particulate matters(PMs); impacting on both the properties of aerosol particles and health effects by generating reactive oxygen species(ROS). Currently, the interests of HULIS are intensively shifting to the investigations of HULIS-metal synergic effects and kinetics modeling studies, as well as the development of HULIS quantification, findings of possible HULIS sources and generation of ROS from HULIS. In light of HULIS studies, we comprehensively review the current knowledge of isolation and physicochemical characterization of HULIS from atmospheric samples as well as HULIS properties(hygroscopic, surface activity, and colloidal) and possible sources of HULIS.This review mainly highlights the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) from PMs, HULIS and transition metals, especially iron. This review also summarized the mechanism of ironorganic complexation and recent findings of OH formation from HULIS-metal complexes. | 4 | In-situ observation of electrical tree evolution in epoxy dielectrics with internal cracks显示文摘Gas-filled internal crack might appear in thermoset materials like epoxy resin during the equipment manufacturing,which would become a vulnerable local region to initiate the electrical tree,thus prone to cause insulation failure.The withstand voltage test was carried on epoxy samples with artificial cracks based on a rod-plane electrode arrange-ment.Simultaneously,surface state variation and tree evolution with crack were observed by an optical microscope in conjunction with a charge-coupled device camera.The changes in morphology and chemical status of the crack surface were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,laser Raman spectrometer and energy dispersive spec-trometer,respectively.It was found that the erosion and tree started from the borderline of crack under a relatively low electric field strength;however,the area near the electrode had relatively little damage.The breaking of epoxy molecular chains coarsens the crack surface and further forms deep channels on a micro-level,which is the forerunner of the electrical tree inception.Based on these,the initiation mechanisms of the crack-induced electrical tree and the reasons for the erosion near the borderline have been revealed.This study provides a train thought for the polymer degradation opening up into the initial tree channel during tree evolution processes. | Zehua Wu Huidong Tian Sijia Zhu He Li Qingyu Wang Zongliang Xie Peng Liu Zongren Peng | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,2: | 3 |
| 5 | High power and energy generation in a Nd:YAG single-crystal fiber laser at 1834 nm显示文摘We report on a diode-end-pumped high-power and high-energy Nd:YAG single-crystal fiber laser at 1834 nm.Two 808 nm diodes injecting about 58 W pump power into the Nd:YAG fiber have generated 3.28 W continuouswave and 1.66 W Cr:ZnSe-based passively Q-switched lasers. Slope efficiencies with respect to pump powers are8.7% for the continuous-wave laser and 4.9% for the Q-switched laser. The extracted maximum pulse energy is about 266.9 μJ, and the corresponding maximum pulse peak power is 2.54 kW. These performances greatly surpass previous results regarding this specific laser emission because the laser gain medium in the form of fiber can significantly mitigate thermally induced power saturation thanks to its significantly reduced thermal lensing effect. | 11 | Revisiting the capacity-fading mechanism of P2-type sodium layered oxide cathode materials during high-voltage cycling显示文摘P2-type sodium layered oxide cathode (Na_(2/3)Ni_(1/3)Mn_(2/3)O_(2)P2-NNMO) has attracted great attention as a promising cathode material for sodium ion batteries because of its high specific capacity. However, this material suffers from a rapid capacity fade during high-voltage cycling. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the capacity fade, including intragranular fracture caused by the P2-O2 phase transion, surface structural change, and irreversible lattice oxygen release. Here we systematically investigated the morphological, structural, and chemical changes of P2-NNMO during high-voltage cycling using a variety of characterization techniques. It was found that the lattice distortion and crystal-plane buckling induced by the P2-O2 phase transition slowed down the Na-ion transport in the bulk and hindered the extraction of the Na ions. The sluggish kinetics was the main reason in reducing the accessible capacity while other interfacial degradation mechanisms played minor roles. | 12 | Numerical study of the seasonal salinity budget of the upper ocean in the Bay of Bengal in 2014显示文摘Impact factors on the salinity budget, especially the eddy salt fluxes and smaller-scale diffusive salt fluxes for the upper 50 m of the Bay of Bengal(BoB) in 2014 are investigated using a box model based on the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS) daily outputs. The model results reproduce that the precipitation and river runoff s are the dominant factors modulating the sharp salinity decrease during the summer monsoon season. The analysis shows that the salinity increase after the summer monsoon is mostly due to the meridional advective and diffusive salt fluxes. The vertical advective salt flux, which is sensitive to the different signals of the wind stress curl, plays an important role in balancing the salinity change induced by the meridional advective salt flux during both the summer and winter monsoon seasons. Distinctive spatial mesoscale structures are presented in the eddy salt flux throughout the year, and their contributions are sizeable(over 30% in the meridional direction and about 10%–30% in the vertical direction). The meridional eddy salt flux is larger in the monsoon seasons than that in the inter-monsoon seasons, and in a positive pattern near the western boundary during the winter monsoon and autumn inter-monsoon. The vertical eddy salt flux makes an important contribution to the salinity budget, especially along the coastal area and around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
