| 2 | A New Family of Sauropod Dinosaur from the Upper Cretaceous of Tianzhen, Shanxi Province, China显示文摘A new gigantic sauropod, Huabeisaurus allocates gen. et sp. nov., about 20 m in length and 5 m in height, was discovered in the Upper Cretaceous Huiquanpu Formation, Tianzhen County, Shanxi Province. It is notably different from Diplodocidae, Titanosauridae and Nemegtosauridae in the following aspects: the teeth are strong, peg-like with a length ratio of the tooth crown to tooth root at about 3 to 1; the cervical vertebrae are long with forked spines; the spines in dorsal vertebrae are relatively high, unbifiarcated; the caudal vertebrae are amphicoelous, with anterior neural spines and unbifurcated spines and chevrons; the femur is straight and long, narrow and flat and the tibia and fibula are long and flat. These characters show that the described genus should represent a new family, Huabeisauridae fam. nov. | 4 | Effect of Huqian Wan on liver-Yin and kidney-Yin deficiency patterns in patients with knee osteoarthritis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the curative effect of Huqian Wan on liver and kidney-Yin deficiency knee osteoarthritis(KOA).METHODS: One hundred patients were randomly divided into a treatment(50 patients) and control group(50 patients). In the treatment group, patients orally took the Chinese medicine Huqian Wan. Control group patients orally took Votalin, 75 mg, once a day, for 8 weeks. The visual analog scale(VAS), Western Ontario and Mc Master University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC), and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form 36-Item Health Survey(SF36) were used to evaluate the curative effect before treatment and after 8 and 16 weeks of treatment.RESULTS: VAS and WOMAC scores significantly decreased and SF 36 scores significantly increased after treatment in both groups compared with before treatment(P < 0.05). There were significant differences in VAS, WOMAC, and SF 36 score changes between the two groups at week 16(P < 0.05).There was a significant increase in VAS and WOMAC scores in the control groups(P < 0.05) between weeks 8 and 16, but no significant difference was found in the treatment group(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Huqian Wan could effectively improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life in patients with KOA. | 5 | Self-organizing feature map neural network classification of the ASTER data based on wavelet fusion显示文摘Most methods for classification of remote sensing data are based on the statistical parameter evaluation with the assumption that the samples obey the normal distribution. How-ever, more accurate classification results can be obtained with the neural network method through getting knowledge from environments and adjusting the parameter (or weight) step by step by a specific measurement. This paper focuses on the double-layer structured Kohonen self-organizing feature map (SOFM), for which all neurons within the two layers are linked one another and those of the competition layers are linked as well along the sides. Therefore, the self-adapting learning ability is improved due to the effective competition and suppression in this method. The SOFM has become a hot topic in the research area of remote sensing data classi-fication. The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflectance Radiometer (ASTER) is a new satellite-borne remote sensing instrument with three 15-m resolution bands and three 30-m resolution bands at the near infrared. The ASTER data of Dagang district, Tianjin Munici-pality is used as the test data in this study. At first, the wavelet fusion is carried out to make the spatial resolutions of the ASTER data identical; then, the SOFM method is applied to classifying the land cover types. The classification results are compared with those of the maximum likeli-hood method (MLH). | 6 | Preparation and Characterization of Collagen-GAGs Bioactive Matrices for Tissue Engineering显示文摘Collagen materials were crosslinked by 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC) in the presence of chondroitin sulfate (CS), one of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). PVA and chitosan were also blended with collagen. The physical and chemical properties of the matrices were characterized by SEM, DSC, and ESCA. L929 cells were implanted on the matrices to show the cytotoxic and the biological characters of the materials. The results indicate that EDC is an effective and non-cytotoxic cross-link reagent, which can replace the common dialdehyde reagent. The attachment of CS can improve the stability of collagen and accelerate cell growth. The addition of PVA can prepare porous matrices with smaller bore size. There are reactions between the chitosan and collagen, and the composite has good biological character. | 10 | Interaction mechanism of the interface between a deep buried sand and a paleo-weathered rock mass using a high normal stress direct shear apparatus显示文摘In order to evaluate the feasibility of safe mining close to the contact zone under reduced security coal pillar conditions at a coal mine in eastern China, the interaction mechanism of the interface between deep buried sand and a paleo-weathered rock mass was investigated in the laboratory by direct shear testing. A DRS-1 high pressure soil shear testing machine and orthogonal design method were used in the direct shear tests. Variance and range methods were applied to analyze the sensitivity of each factor that has an influence on the mechanical characters of the interface. | 12 | Analysis of sensitivity and specificity:precise recognition of neutrophils during regeneration of contused skeletal muscle in rats显示文摘In this report,we applied the TissueFAXS 200 digital pathological analysis system to rapidly and accurately identify neutrophils during regeneration of contused skeletal muscle,and to provide information for follow-up studies on neutrophils to estimate wound age.Rat injury model was established,and skeletal muscle samples were obtained from the control group and contusion groups at 1,1.5,2,3,4,and 6 h,as well as at 1,3,5,and 15 d post-injury(n紏5 per group).The expression of nuclei and neutrophils was detected by hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining and immunohistochemical(IHC)staining.A total of 20 injury site areas of 0.25mm^(2)(0.5mm0.5mm)were then randomly selected at all time points.A TissueFAXS 200 digital pathological analysis system was used to identify the positive and negative numbers.Knowledge of five professional medical workers were considered the gold standard to measure the false positive rate(FPR),false negative rate(FNR),sensitivity,specificity,and area under the curve(AUC)of receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.As a result,with a staining area of neutrophils from 8 μm^(2) to 15 μm^(2),the FPR was 4.28%–12.14%,the FNR was 12.42%–64.08%,the sensitivity was 35.92%–87.58%,the specificity was 87.86%–95.72%,the Youden index was 0.316–0.754,the accuracy was 82.80%–88.30%,and the AUC was 0.771–0.826.The AUC was largest when the cut-off value of the staining area was 12 mm^(2).Our results show that this software-based method is more accurate than the human eye in evaluating neutrophil infiltration.Based on the sensitivity and specificity,neutrophils can be accurately identified during regeneration of contused skeletal muscle.The TissueFAXS 200 digital pathological analysis system can also be used to optimize conditions for different cell types under various injury conditions to determine the optimal cut-off value of the staining area and provide optimal conditions for further study.Furthermore,it will provide evidence for forensic pathology cases. | Jiajia Niu Guoshuai An Zhen Gu Peng Li Qiqing Liu Rufeng Bai Junhong Sun Qiuxiang Du | 2022 | Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,2: | 2 |

| 15 | Influence of tanshinone on N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 1 protein expression in a rat model of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Tanshinone has been previously shown to be involved in the prevention and treatment of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. In addition, excitatory amino acid-mediated neu- rotoxicity may induce neuronal damage following spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. OBJECTIVE: To explore the interventional effect of tanshinone on N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 1 (NMDAR1) protein expression in a rat model of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized molecular biology experiment was conducted at the Traumatology & Orthopedics Laboratory of Fujian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Key Laboratory of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine) between September 2007 and May 2008. MATERIALS: A total of 88 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into a sham operation (n = 8), model (n = 40), and tanshinone (n = 40) groups. Thirty minutes after ischemia, rats in the model and tanshinone groups were observed at hour 0.5, 1, 4, 8, and 12 following perfusion, with eight rats for each time point. METHODS: Abdominal aorta occlusion was performed along the right renal arterial root using a Scoville-Lewis clamp to induce spinal cord ischemia. Blood flow was recovered 30 minutes following occlusion to establish models of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. Abdominal aorta occlusion was not performed in the sham operation group. An intraperitoneal injection of tanshinone ⅡA sul- fonic sodium solution (0.2 L/g) was administered to rats in the tanshinone group, preoperatively. In addition, rats in the sham operation and model groups were treated with an intraperitoneal injection of the same concentration of saline, preoperatively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: NMDAR1 protein expression in the anterior horn of the spinal cord, accumulative absorbance, average absorbance, and area of positive cells were detected in the three groups through immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: All 88 rats were included in the final analysis. (1) NMDAR1 protein expression increased following 30-minute ischemia/1-hour reperfusion injury to the spinal cord, and reached a peak 4 hours after reperfusion. (2) Accumulative absorbance and average absorbance of NMDAR1, as well as area of positive cells in the model group, were significantly greater than the sham operation group at each time point (P < 0.05). However, values in the tanshinone group were significantly less than the model group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: NMDAR1 protein expression was rapidly increased following spinal cord ische- mia/reperfusion injury and reached a peak 4 hours following reperfusion.
