9Continuous-wave single-mode quantum cascade laser at 5.1 THz based on graded sampled grating design显示文摘We report on the terahertz(THz)quantum cascade lasers in continuous-wave(CW)operation with an emitting frequency above 5 THz.Excellent performance with a smaller leakage current and higher population inversion efficiency is obtained by one-well bridged bound-to-continuum hybrid quantum design at 5 THz.By designing and fabricating a graded metallic sampled distributed feedback grating in the waveguide,the first single-mode THz quantum cascade laser at 5.13 THz in CW operation mode is achieved.The maximum single-mode optical power of~48 mW is achieved at 15 K with a side-mode suppression ratio above 24 dB.This will draw great interest in the spectroscopy applications above the 5 THz range for THz quantum cascade lasers.WEIJIANG LI YU MA YUNFEI XU JUNQI LIU LIJUN WANG NING ZHUO QUANYONG LU JINCHUAN ZHANG SHENQIANG ZHAI SHUMAN LIU FENGQI LIU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,12:0
10Biomimetic preparation and multi-scale microstructures of nano-silica/polyurethane elastomeric fibers显示文摘Bioinspired by the spinning of spider silks,the biomimetic preparation of nano-silica/polyurethane(nano-SiO/TPU) elastomeric fibers with distinctive multi-scale microstructures was successfully implemented.The formation mechanism of the nano-SiO_2/TPU fibers was considered as the integrated mechanism of diffusion,coagulation,self-assembly,and microphase separation,same as that of the native spider silks.The mass ratio of nano-SiO_2 to TPU greatly influenced the external and inner microstructures of the nano-SiO_2ATPU fibers.The formation process of the nano-SiO_2/TPU fibers was simply described as three main stages,and the second stage,such as the adding of the ethanol solvents and nano-SiO_2 in different diameters,was thought to be very crucial for the final external and inner microstructures of the prepared fibers.For example,the adding of the ethanol and the nano-SiO_2 spheres in diameter of 10 nm resulted in the existence of many TPU-self-assembled microspheres mostly spaced apart by the nano-SiO_2 aggregates in the nano-SiOVTPU fibers,while the adding of the ethanol and the nano-SiO_2 spheres in diameter of 100 nm resulted in the existence of the nano-SiO_2 spheres,instead of the TPU-self-assembled microspheres,distributed in the nano-SiO_2/TPU fibers.Quanyong Liu Li Gao Lei Jiang 2013Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2013,23,6:0

13High-pressure synthesis and properties of CeO_2-ZrO_2 solid solution显示文摘Using nanoparticles of CeO2 and ZrO2 prepared by the chemical precipitation method as starting materials, the single-phase cubic Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 solid solution (c-Ce0.5Z0.5O2) has been synthesized under 3.1 GPa at 1073 K for the first time. The structure of the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 has not been changed before and after annealing at 773 K for 1 h. Only an unknown EPR signal (g =1.990) has been observed in the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 and not varied after annealing at 773 K for 1 h, which exhibited that there exists no Ce3+ in the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 and the Ce4+ has not been reduced into Ce3+ after annealing. The transport mechanism is ionic for the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2. The bulk conductivity (a =1.2×10-5 S/cm at 823 K, σ=2.1 ×10-3 S/cm at 1123 K) is the same as that of CeO2, but smaller than that of Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2. A marked curvature at T = 823 K has been observed in the Arrhenius plot of the bulk conductivity. 14High-power distributed feedback lasers based on InP corrugated sidewalls atλ~2μm显示文摘We report a high-power single-mode InP-based 2μm distributed feedback(DFB)laser with a second-order buried grating and corrugated sidewalls.A second-order semiconductor grating is used for in-plane feedback and vertical out-coupling.The corrugated sidewalls are used to eliminate higher-order transverse modes.For the DFB laser with a 2 mm long cavity and 15μm wide ridge,the maximum continuous-wave edge-emitting and surface-emitting single-mode powers at 300 K are up to 81 and 42 m W,respectively.A single-lobed far-field radiation pattern with a low divergence angle of approximately 8.6°is achieved by a device with a ridge width of 15μm.The single-longitudinal-mode emission wavelength of the fabricated laser can be adjusted from2003.8 nm at 288 K to 2006.9 nm at 313 K without any mode hopping.Robust single-mode emission with a side-mode suppression ratio of 30 dB is achieved under all injection currents and temperature conditions.YONGQIANG SUN YUNFEI XU JINCHUAN ZHANG FENGMIN CHEN JUNQI LIU SHUMAN LIU QUANYONG LU NING ZHUO LIJUN WANG FENGQI LIU SHENQIANG ZHAI 2023Photonics Research2023,11,8:0
