1Salicylic acid promotes quiescent center cell division through ROS accumulation and down-regulation of PLT1,PLT2,and WOX5显示文摘Salicylic acid(SA)plays a crucial role in plant immunity.However,its function in plant development is poorly understood.The quiescent center(QC),which maintains columella stem cells(CSCs)in the root apical meristem and typically exhibits low levels of cell division,is critical for root growth and development.Here,we show that the Arabidopsis thaliana SA overaccumulation mutant constitutively activated cell death 1(cad1),which exhibits increased cell division in the QC,is rescued by additional mutations in genes encoding the SA biosynthetic enzyme SALICYLIC ACID INDUCTION DEFFICIENT2(SID2)or the SA receptor NONEXPRESSER OF PR GENES1(NPR1),indicating that QC cell division in the cad1 mutant is promoted by the NPR1-dependent SA signaling pathway.The application of exogenous SA also promoted QC cell division in wild-type plants in a dose-dependent manner and largely suppressed the expression of genes involved in QC maintenance,including those encoding the APETALA2(AP2)transcription factors PLETHORA1(PLT1)and PLT2,as well as the homeodomain transcription factor WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX5(WOX5).Moreover,we showed that SA promotes reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,which is necessary for the QC cell division phenotype in the cad1 mutant.These results provide insight into the function of SA in QC maintenance.Zhuqing Wang Duoyan Rong Dixing Chen Yang Xiao Renyi Liu Shuang Wu Chizuko Yamamuro 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,3:4
2Industrial Poverty Alleviation Model in Southwestern High-altitude Mountainous Areas of China——A Case Study of Industrial Poverty Alleviation of Xueshan Township in Luquan County of Yunnan Province through Planting Codonopsis pilosula显示文摘Due to the severe restrictions of natural conditions and ecological environment,high-altitude mountainous areas usually become the ' hard bones' in the battle against poverty. Xueshan Township,Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County of Yunnan Province,located in the alpine valley of Jinsha River,is a major township with wide and deep poverty,and the incidence of poverty is up to 45. 00%. In recent years,Xueshan Township has insisted on the battle against poverty,made effort to develop the Codonopsis pilosula industry,and successfully developed a road to poverty alleviation through C. pilosula industry,and formed a unique industrial poverty alleviation model by the end of 2018,the incidence of poverty dropped to 0. 74%. 3Reconstruction Mode of Rural Dilapidated Houses in Alpine and Gorge Area of Southwest China——A Case Study of Scientific Identification and Precision Reconstruction of Rural Dilapidated Houses in Luquan County,Yunnan Province显示文摘The transformation of dilapidated houses in rural areas is not only a livelihood project related to the broad masses of rural people,but also a major project to win the battle against poverty. Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County,Yunnan Province,located in the high mountain and gorge area along Jinsha River,is one of the key counties of poverty alleviation and development with a wide range of poverty and a deep degree of poverty. The incidence of poverty is 22. 21%. Housing security is the focus,difficulty and emphasis of poverty alleviation in this county,the number of dilapidated houses is large,the type is complex,the transformation is difficult,and the implementation cost is high.Since the beginning of 2017,Luquan County has faced difficulties,explored in depth,pioneered and innovated,and completed the renovation of 54 801 dilapidated houses in an all-round way. It created a road full of characteristics and effectiveness of rural dilapidated housing transformation,and explored a set of effective scientific identification and accurate transformation models for rural dilapidated housing worthy of reference and promotion. Successful renovation of dilapidated houses,combined with industrial poverty alleviation,education poverty alleviation,health poverty alleviation and other accurate poverty alleviation measures,have made Luquan County win a decisive victory in the fight against poverty. By the end of December 2018,the incidence of poverty in the county had dropped to 0. 54%,and 115 poor villages( including 83 extremely poor villages) had successfully shaken off poverty. 4Phytolith carbon sequestration in bamboos of different ecotypes:a case study in China显示文摘Occlusion of carbon(C) within phytoliths(Phyt OC) is becoming one of the most promising terrestrial C sequestration mechanisms. This study explored the production of Phyt OC within 35 bamboo species belonging to three ecotypes using methods of microwave digestion. The aim of this study is to explore the present and potential C sequestration rate within phytoliths of bamboo species from three ecotypes. Phyt OC content in bamboos of three ecotypes ranges from 0.07 % to 0.42 %. The mean Phyt OC production flux decreases as: clustered bamboo(0.050 ±0.016 t CO2ha-1a-1) & mixed bamboo(0.049 ± 0.016 t CO2ha-1a-1) [ scattered bamboo(0.038 ± 0.020 t CO2ha-1a-1). The phytolith carbon sequestration in Chinese bamboo is estimated to be 0.293 ± 0.127 Tg(1 Tg =1012g) CO2a-1; approximately 75 %, 3 %, and 22 % of which is contributed from scattered, mixed and clustered bamboo, respectively. Taking the Phyt OC production flux of 0.18 ± 0.12 t CO2ha-1a-1and current annual area increasing rate of 3 %, global bamboo phytoliths wouldsequester 11.9 ± 7.9 Tg CO2a-1by 2050. 6The Mode of Promoting Industrial Targeted Poverty Alleviation through Land Circulation in Western Mountainous Region of China——A Case Study of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County in Yunnan Province显示文摘In the industrial targeted poverty alleviation,land circulation is a key process. Based on the national strategy of targeted poverty alleviation,this paper combined the industrial development of targeted poverty alleviation with land circulation. According to the field survey on the current situation of land circulation and promotion of the industrial poverty alleviation in the typical project area of Zhongping Village in Zhongping Town and Jiaowuying Village in Jiulong Town in Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County in Yunnan Province,located in the high mountain canyon area of Jinsha River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in the west of China. This paper summarized and analyzed the organization and operation mechanism,basic practices and main results of the land circulation and promotion of industrial poverty alleviation model in the typical project area of the county. 18JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN proteins engage Polycomb chromatin modifiers to modulate Jasmonate signaling in Arabidopsis显示文摘Jasmonate(JA)regulates various aspects of plant growth and development and stress responses,with prominent roles in male reproductive development and defenses against herbivores and necrotrophic pathogens.JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN(JAZ)proteins are key regulators in the JA signaling pathway and function to repress the expression of JA-responsive genes.Here,we show that JAZ proteins directly interact with several chromatin-associated Polycomb proteins to mediate repressive chromatin modifications at JA-responsive genes and,thus,their transcriptional repression in Arabidopsis.Genetic analyses revealed that the developmental defects,including anther and pollen abnormalities,resulting from loss or block of JA signaling were partially rescued by loss of Polycomb protein-mediated chromatin silencing(Polycomb repression).We further found that JAZ-mediated transcriptional repression during anther and pollen development requires Polycomb proteins at four key Regulatory loci.Analysis of genome-wide occupancy of a Polycomb factor and transcriptome reprogramming in response to JA revealed that Polycomb repression is involved in the repression of various JA-responsive genes.Taken together,our study reveals an important chromatin-based mechanism for JAZ-mediated transcriptional repression and JA signaling in plants.Zicong Li Xiao Luo Yang Ou Huijun Jiao Li Peng Xing Fu Alberto P.Macho Renyi Liu Yuehui He 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,5:1

20Rapid evaluation of heterologous chimeric RBD-dimer mRNA vaccine for currently-epidemic Omicron sub-variants as booster shot after inactivated vaccine显示文摘With continuous mutations of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),the severe immune escape of Omicron sub-variants urges the development of next-generation broad-spectrum vaccines,especially as booster jabs after high-level vaccination coverage of inactivated vaccines in China and many other countries.Previously,we developed a coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)protein subunit vaccine ZF2001?based on the tandem homo-prototype receptor-binding domain(RBD)-dimer of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.We upgraded the antigen into a hetero-chimeric prototype(PT)-Beta or Delta-BA.1 RBD-dimer to broaden the cross-protection efficacy and prove its efficiency with protein subunit and mRNA vaccine platforms.Herein,we further explored the hetero-chimeric RBD-dimer mRNA vaccines and evaluated their broad-spectrum activities as booster jabs following two doses of inactivated vaccine(Ⅳ)in mice.Our data demonstrated that the chi-meric vaccines significantly boosted neutralizing antibody levels and specific T-cell responses against the vari-ants,and PT-Beta was superior to Delta-BA.1 RBD as a booster in mice,shedding light on the antigen design for the next-generation COVID-19 vaccines.Qian Chen Pei Du Yuxuan Han Xuehui Ma Rong Zhang Xiaoyu Rong Xu Zhao Renyi Ma Huiting Yang Anqi Zheng Qingrui Huang Jinghua Yan Hui Wang Xin Zhao Lianpan Dai George F.Gao Qihui Wang 2023Biosafety and Health2023,5,2:1
